No. The whole point of a factory reset is to wipe your device clean. Without backup, your data is lost.

[Q] Deleting all personal data from rooted HTC One?

Hey guys,
I'm selling my rooted HTC One, and I want to make sure all my apps and data are deleted off of it.
The guy I'm selling it to doesn't want it booted, so I don't want to return it to stock.
Is there a simple way for me to securely delete all my data? If I do "reset to factory settings" I understand it will brick it.
Thanks!
Daniel

Deleting a personal data using the factory reset will not brick anything - it only wipes a partitions what is ok.
Returning back to stock (not rooted, locked etc.) is a different story and there are few guides how to do that without bricking..

[Q] Reset to Factory Erased Everything, How to Recover Files on Internal Storage

Guys, I do apologize if I created this thread on an inappropriate way. I'm desperate. I Updated my HTC One to Android 5.0.2 through OTA. As it's recommended, I did a Factory Data Reset. NOW EVERYTHING IS LOST, MY PHOTOS,MY CONTACTS AND SMS BACKUPS, EVERYTHING. I did Factory Data Reset Before, But It Never Erased those files. I Don't know whether its because of Android 5 or not. BUT PLEASE, IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME TO RESTORE THOSE DELETED FILES, I'd be MOST GRATEFUL. I DO APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. MY PHONE IS NOT ROOTED and it's Completely STOCK. I Tried Several Recovery Apps, However as HTC one only has Internal Storage, the File System is not known, therefore, None of them Detected it.
ONCE AGAIN, THANKS IN ADVANCE TO THOSE WHO CAN HELP ME WITH THIS, IT'S TRUELY VERY VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME TO RETRIEVE THOSE LOST DATA. THANKS GUYS ...

anyone???? Please guys ...
There's no way of recovering those files unless rooted and even then I don't think it would work there gone sorry. Next time back up photos using sync manager on PC and use HTC backup it saves a lot of heartache.

How do I restore a TWRP backup.

If anyone would kindly tell me.
Currently my phone has a network problem where data disconnects every 5 minutes or so them reconnects again a few moments later. Network settings restore didn't work so I want to restore a backup I made a few months ago.
I know data couldn't be backed up earlier and can't be restored, but I'm only wanting the system, but I'm not sure how to go about it.
Should I wipe system then restore or just dirty flash system over top? Will the current data partition be affected in any way?
Phone is rooted with Magisk.
I'm planning on reinstalling many apps and their corresponding system/storage data using O&backupX afterwards as well.
Bump
It's been a long time since I restored a TWRP image, but I basically erased the phone then flashed the backup data over. IIRC, this didn't really work for me back then, as it left me with a non-working phone, so I gave up on restoring backups at all and just migrated data myself from the backup folder. In other words, I'd say you should reflash the ROM you want "fresh" and then just pull data from the backup as needed. But you can certainly try the restore first... you might have better luck than I had.
I think a wipe/erase is important as the backups aren't bit-wise images... back then, it was just file-copied over. For this reason, any stray files would not be removed with a dirty flash. It could work, in theory, but it is cleaner to wipe first, of course.

Hi, thanks for replying.
I guess I wanted to try migrate current app settings with the older backup but realize this may cause problems. I'll try wipe system and cache, then restore them from an earlier backup then restore apps and their data selectively. Cheers!

Save all you need & do a Factory Reset. I do with Erase everything.
I advice not to restore a backup because you may restore the proble too.
