Anybody having a problem with getting LTE on their Oneplus 3Ts? I'm showing 4g only no matter what APN I am using. Other people have reported the same problem on AT&T. Speeds are not LTE speeds, getting around 50 mbps on my HTC m8, around 30 on the 3T.
*EDIT* So it seems to me like a problem with carrier aggregation. 4G = LTE 4G+ = LTE w/ CA. The device is constantly jumping between 4G and 4G+ every minute or so. When you go from 4G to 4G+, the speeds drop dramatically. In the screenshots from LTE discovery, you can see the right side change from GSM to LTE_CA and 4G to 4G+ respectively. The band also switches between 4 and 12. Spent an hour on Oneplus support chat doing the usual stuff, reboot, factory reset. Nothing works. This is on a completely stock 3T updated to the newest OOS 3.5.3.

Here is a speedtest on 4G and another on 4G+
Submitted Bug Report on Oneplus forum
I didn't even know its supposed to show LTE. I also only have 4g on mine. (tmobile) my speeds are horrid. Like 3mbs download max bad.
Yea this blows. Smh I thought this was an upgrade from the 3. Smh I'm getting 5mb download speed and 8mb for upload speed on 4G only. (t-mobile)
It appears we do have LTE cause in sim info it does say I am connected to band 4 LTE. I guess they changed the icons. Still doesnt explain the speed. My note 4 has like 70mbs download while my new op3t has 3mbs.
LTE is supported. i even have VoLtE on

Danm that's quick im still stuck at 1mb for dl and 3mb for upload for some reason. I hope its not a phone issues. Doesn't make sense that it would be though then it would either work or not work.

Okay! I seem to have narrowed the problem down. Every minute or so the phone will switch from 4G to 4G+. With 4G you get full LTE speeds, but 4G+ results in speeds of ~3mbps. Looking at LTE discovery we can that the right side changes from GSM to LTE_CA when it goes from 4G to 4G+. The band is also changing from 4 to 12. Here are some [screenshots.](http://imgur.com/a/Mbn8J) This happens whether I am on VoLTE or not. I'm guessing carrier aggregation is not working properly resulting in super slow speeds when it tries to use multiple bands.
Is there something I need to enable on my t mobile account for CA?

Yes, I can confirm under SIM status, it is changing from 4G to LTE_CA when the statusbar changes from 4G to 4G+ respectively. This happens every minute or so. The problem is LTE_CA has super slow speeds ~4 Mbps.
I've never gotten 4G+ ever but it says im on band 4 LTE....

Pretty sure it's just an issue with the software as the same deal happens with the 3 on the Community Build.

No. 4G means LTE on the Community Build on the OP3 as well as the initial release on the OP3T. If it's HSPA/HSPA+ then it will display as H/H+.

Who is your cell provider? Where are you located?
Seems this has been an issue since the Op3...if it is a persistence issue that I cannot find a solution for once a receive the op3t...I may just return it....Seems people loose services and problem with typical day web browsing.
What is the point of unlimited data if I can't even use it? Lol no matter how great a phone is, without proper service...its useless.
Is this a TMobile only issue? Is it location dependent (ie, due to aggregation...may be better in other areas)?
Carrier issues.
You guys are having better luck than me so far. I'm only getting H+ on mobile data. Also, I went into the AT&T store to get the Micro SIM swapped for a nano for my new OnePlus 3T and activate the new IMEI on the 3T. When they tried to activate the IMEI of my 3T their system only recognized the device as GSM capable but not LTE so it dropped off my grandfathered unlimited data plan. About 30 mins later they got my plan put back, but it's still tied to the IMEI of my Nexus 5. So now I am working on my new OnePlus 3T with a Nexus 5 IMEI and now LTE service, only H+. Gotta love the big US carriers.

I came from the Note 4 on AT&T also, but I rather just invest in the SIM cutter. So I never have to leave my house. This is the 3rd cut I made so far w/o trouble. Since the SIM didn't change, and I didn't have to call anyone, I never have any problem.

Been playing with This for a few days... There's a thread in the Verizon G2 for running a T-Mobile rom on the Verizon variant of the G2. I live in an area where the T-Mobile towers were refarmed for LTE. Well I've been running the Rom And ordinarily I was getting their HSPA+ "4G". Not realising I could Go in and change the connection types or whatever, I changed it to GSM/WCDMA/LTE and this happened:

Not yet, looking at family plans and coverage plus employee discount which could sway staying or going. Also have contract till June on unlim which deciding if I want to keep or not.
I'm on month to month with Verizon right now and still have unlimited data. I priced or tmo as I thought of changing to save money... I have a 20% vzw discount through work so monthly costs were identical. I stuck with Verizon.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
My main job doesn't offer T-Mobile discounts or Verizon, but my 2nd one does. 17%. Even with the discount not utilized from T-Mobile, it ended up being $30 cheaper for me on a family plan with my wife. Add the 17% and it becomes even cheaper. But their service isn't great at my house. And we can't get internet at my house because of the way the street is wired around my way (sucks but oh well) so we use a VZW hotspot. Idk what I should do yet.

I am still trying to get mine working on the T-Mobile LTE. Am told I have to root, but how do you get around the phone staying on "Connected As Installer" for only 30 seconds, then for no apparent reason, swapping to MTP mode? Also, I would like to see step-by-step instructions on how to root, then install the T-Mobile rom.
Bought mine on Saturday and running PA. Got the $45 plan but only 500 mb. Might jump back to T-Mobile next cycle is it's 4G is guaranteed. If not, dihb up automatic payment and get an additional 500 mb.

Verizon 26A stock rom running on Tmobile with LTE
I have my VS980 working perfect on T-Mobile's network through Straight Talk getting LTE on the stock rom that came with the phone. The only "issue" is when I reboot the phone it loads 4G lte in cdma mode until I make my first call, but even then I am still able to use the internet on 4G lte in cdma mode. All it takes is one call made and it automatically changes over to GSM 4G LTE. I have since rooted, but I originally was running on Straight Talk's T-Mobile sim without root. I dont get the VoLTE I had been getting through Verizon, so when I make a call I see the 4G LTE icon change to either 3G or H (hspa+), but it reverts right back to 4G LTE within 5 seconds (usually less). I did install a modified apk for the Verizon Hotspot which now lets me use hotspot and tethering, after I am notifed that a Verizon LTE sim is not installed which is required for Hotspot to work. I am lookind at full bars right now ans I can send a screenshot if needed. I dont think I will flash to a T-Mobile rom since everything runs so smoothly just the way it is. I am in Kansas City, Missouri, and have traveled all over Kansas City Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas ans all the outlying suburbs abd LTE is flawless. When I get too far from the metropolitan area I will end up with umts, G, E (edge), but I never lose the ability to make or receive voice calls, just 4G LTE.
VS9800 on Straight Talk's T-Mobile LTE with stock rom
Sorry, I failed to mention that I actually access T-mobile's 4G LTE network through a Straight Talk sim. All I had to do was replace the Verizon sim with the T-mobile micro sim that came in the Straight Talk BYOP kit ($60-that included 30 days of unlimited service and 3 gigabytes of 4G LTE data) & the phone was instantly operating on T-mobile's 4G LTE network sans any apn configuring whatsoever. Kept the phone on Global network mode. Kansas City is a refarmed area for T-mobile. I suspect I am getting their 4G LTE on the band 4 (aws) spectrum. I have done quite a few speed tests and I get around 30 Mbps for upload and download when I have 3 or more bars. On Verizon in Kansas City I was getting 70 Mbps with full bars, so. I definitely took a hit there, but the difference is mostly academic, really.

HSPA+ is a form of 4G for T-Mobile. LTE I forgot how it works, but LG G2 are able to pick it up off T-Mobile. I'm currently on Metro PCS still using a stock rom and it picks up 4G LTE and switches to HSPA+ when out of LTE area and even goes to Edge when in a bad area. Its all in using the right APN Settings.
and Metro PCS is owned by T-Mobile, so its using T-Mobile Towers.
For Stock roms, U would have to input T-mobile LTE APN settings to access it.
Can you please tell me how to get data (either 3G or 4G) on the Lg g2 verizon? I already put in a T-mobile sim card, changed network to GSM mode and add an APN following the instructions on the Internet but all I get is voice calling only. The notification bar shows a 3G symbol but I'm not able to connect to the Internet at all. (

You said you have the Verizon LG G2 on MetroPCS using the T-mobile LTE APN settings... but you did not have to root or flash or smack or take a hammer to it? Its completely stock?
Yep been using mine for a couple of months completely stock, works great.
Yeah I think Verizon LG G2 are the only ones unlocked to different carriers. Because I also use my wifes t mobile sim with no problem at all.

Hey,
just received my european snapdragon 910F and it instantly updated itself to a ANJ4.
i'm a happy user of a Galaxy S3 LTE that really brought me 4g everywhere.
well, now i use both i9305 and 910F, and there's a major issue with reception.
in the bedroom, which is inside of a concrete building, S3 LTE shows 4G 1800 at -106...-110db (*#0011#).
Sometimes even -115db y no pasa nada - it holds on to the frequency and provides stable 4g.
Not blazing fast, but at least 8mbit DL, allowing for acceptable browsing and apps usage.
Note 4 goes straight to the 3G 900 with miserable 1mbit DL, 0.02 UL (forget VoIP), increased ping... it's a pain!
luckily, i have a multisim, so both phones work on the same network with the same plan and at the same time, so the problem is evident.
when i bought S3 LTE, it showed significantly lower signal (difference of 10-15db) than my Motorola o Sony phones, but Note 4 takes it to the whole new level.
anyone tried modems from other regions? p.s. you can update a modem via odin without affecting knox byte, right?
I don't see the modems thread started yet.
for S3 LTE, modems from France, Germany, Norway and Russia (Megafon XXUFNI3) showed best results. I use the latter.

Interestingly my Note 4 gets 4G reception where the Note 3 does not! I had both side by side in a marginal 4G signal area, on 1800MHz (Three), and the Note 3 refused to stay on 4G even if I tried to choose the network manually...it would go to 4G for 30 seconds and jump back to 3G. But on the Note 4 it holds the 4G signal!
So my experience suggests the opposite of yours....I then checked the dB level on 3G (as I can't get the Note 3 to stay on 4G) and they were both pretty much identical, which may simply suggest that the Note 4 has a different algorithm for network switching.

what region are you, and what is your current modem?
i'm FVF España (or XXU), with XXU1ANJ4 (modem is CP from *#1234#, right?)
forgot to mention that i also have Galaxy Tab S 8.4 T705 tablet (which is, in fact, a supersized Galaxy S5), and it sticks to 4G in the same room too. I didn't have the opportunity to try Note 3, so can't compare. but googling "poor galaxy note reception" shows so many horror stories it's just mind blowing.
so i'm willing to try a different modem.
what is worse, at least with S3 LTE i could lock it to 4G only via Band Mode (@ service menu), but on recent samsung devices that is no longer possible

I am in the UK, with U1ANJ4 modem as well! So this is a bit surprising that you have this difference. I don't think any of the Note phones have had the "best" signal reception to be honest. I have a really old Nokia Symbian phone (you remember the ones where the screen and keypad slide up and down?) with 3G...and it can get 3G reception where my S3, Note 3 and Note 4 cannot get anything.

When it is actually on 4G 1800 in the same room, it shows 8 to 20Mbit DL and 3 UL with no problem.
i'll keep watching it to see if it is a temporary network issue, as they've been rolling out carrier aggregation here and i don't see it working yet, and VoLTE is still to be enabled.
Hopefullly LTE800 will ease the pain, but we will (maybe) have it here starting january.

it smells sort of planned obsolescence but in a way that there should not be a perfect phone because otherwise all other phones will not be purchased.
My 4g and 4g+ speeds in london are amazing! I've just got 95mb down on 4g+. In ee with a uk 910
Okay, good news:
Thatks to the super useful post describing how to enter the Service Mode and Band Info , i've managed to lock my N910F to LTE-only.
for this, i had to manually disable each and every 2G and 3G frequency.
apparently there's now no easy way to select just a group of band modes, or cancel it easily. have to turn on/off over 10 frequencies.
well, better than nothing!
when N910F fell into 3G again, i locked it to LTE only - y voila - no problem at all. works great as S3 LTE did.
websites load fast; speedtest shows avg. 10DL/3UL with -112...-117dB.
the downside is that voice calls do not work as network doesn't have VoLTE yet.
So it's definetely not an antenna issue, but
either 1) modem settings which is too cautious and has a different threshold to fall to 3G to guarantee voice availability;
or 2) network sees more dropped packets and says to go to 3G.
I have also noticed that if i position the phone in landscape mode AND hold it with hands, this affects reception.
for example, doing it during speedtest in that room with poor signal, decreases download speed from 10Mbit to 3Mbit.
these are all frequences that were enabled by default:
anyone knows what RF support mode is?

Is there any reason this phone wouldn't work in the USA?
It seems to support enough t-mobile bands.....
But is it locked down or anything?
Yes it will be factory unlocked, like the oneplus phones.
Speaking of which, I have a Oneplus China model. It is missing some 4G bands. Let me tell you, if I didn't read it, I would never know. Carriers have numerous bands even on the same technology, and add to that, they can fall back to 3.5G which is HSPA+ also pushing 40Mb+. Day to day use, aside from some edge cases, you would probably never notice.
Yup! It has the same bands as the One Plus X (Bands 2, 4) which I have been using on T-Mobile with no complaints! Can't wait to get this phone.
What carrier do you use in the U.S.?
So AT&T and T-Mobile are the major carriers that this device could operate on. Does anyone know what MNVO's this would work on in the US?
From gsm arena:
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - SIM 1 & SIM 2
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)
Then check which bands your operator use. For virtual operators you might have to check the operator they rent lines from.
It will work if you're on GSM and in an area that is ok with 2 out of the 4 bands that AT&T uses.
I'm in Norway so I'm good on all bands except 20 (800MHz). Not a final deal breaker, but an unlock would be nice.

Ah, now that you mention it, on the oneplus forums there was a qualcomm radio unlocker with instructions posted, as far as I've read they have had success unlocking some bands. If interest picks up with this phone(which it seems like it will) I'm sure there will be guides here aswell.

So for T-Mobile LTE, you need 2, 4, and 12
But this phone only has 2 and 4
So it will work, but not as well as it would if the phone also had 12.
I think that for ATT it has 2,4,5 but not 17 in which case it will work some what with LTE and HSPA+ which I think its good enough for me.

Note that GSM is retiring at AT&T by year end. Then only UMTS & LTE
Mi Mix
damn you verizon wireless I wanted a Mi Mix!
So will it work with LTE ATT if I have good coverage, like in Dallas area?
Looking for a little more clear answer, for AT&T, USA.
I just want to know if the Xiaomi Mi MIX will function with the AT&T LTE Network as well as my S7 Edge, IPhone 7 Plus, or BB Priv?. Seems as if I am hearing it will work, but is it crippled, and something I am going to hate? If it's back to 3G, that stinks.
I appreciate the help!!

Does this mean no more HSPA+ ?
I've been using overseas phones for a while now here in the US on AT&T and while I don't get LTE, The HSPA+ has been enough speed for me, If HSPA+ went away i might be in trouble?

wondering if an international rom when it does come out would unlock bands (if it is software-blocked now like one of the Huawei models think it was the mediapad/honor x2 or the oppo find 5? cannot recall now
I'm looking at buying this phone - my carrier Koodo (canada) has band 4 for LTE. I understand that this phone doesn't support this bankd for LTE. Anyway to unlock this band?
I've been reading this - http://en.miui.com/thread-311977-1-1.html
has anyone successfully got this to work with Koodo LTE?
Try asking here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/mi5-mi-max-unlocked-bands-successfully-t3420808
Doing just a quick research I found out that Koodo is using Telus and Bell network. Telus is using band 5 for LTE, band that is supported by Xiaomi MI5. Take it with a pinch of salt tho. If you want to ask Koodo directly, my advice is not to ask someone in a showroom. I don't know how it's in Canada, but here in UK these guys have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Call customer support and ask to be redirected to technical department. There you have big chances to talk with an actual engineer. Good luck.
where in CA? The Telus' side has LTE band 5 (most places), 7 (city centres), and 40 (???) deployed; Bell's side has band 7 ('ronto) and some band 5 deployed.
I guess this thread is in the wrong section - should have been in the q&a section.
Any mods kindly move it to the q&a section ...
In Calgary, CA. Does anyone use Mi5 in this part of canada and get LTE with Koodo?
I just got my Mi5 a few weeks ago - using it on Koodo in the Vancouver area. Enabled LTE and it is working, however the speeds are not much better than HSPA+. My girlfriend gets significantly better speeds on Telus with her iPhone 6. I keep meaning to steal her SIM and test both in my phone at the same time to see if it is the phone or the network, but I haven't yet.
I would post screenshots but apparently I need 10 posts before outside links will work. try putting https:// in front of the below text

Mine is connecting to Band 5 on LTE though - not band 4. From some comments in the other thread, this may be why my speeds are slower??
Telus band 5 seems to be exclusive to BC/ Westside for now. Not sure if they expanded but I have never connected to it from the East end (Waterloo -> Toronto -> Ottawa).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telus_Mobility#Radio_frequency_summary
What I do know is that I only get band 7 LTE in most of Toronto and Waterloo. It isn't that great however compared to band 4 coverage wise. Not the end of the world as it would just roll back to HSPA+ time to time.

The difference in speed should be because of Band 5 vs 4, my iPhone 6 connects to band 4 and I get around 80mbps+ down. My Mi 5 however gets around 40mbps connected to band 7.

Ayy another C-Townie.
Yes, Koodo's LTE band 5 covers the entire city. However, speed isn't that great since it has a max of 37.5Mbps. I usually get ~12Mbps.
The 150Mbps band 7 covers the inner city (up to Sarcee x John Laurie in the NW), but the max speed I could get is around 55Mbps.
Band 40 is a crapshoot and doesn't seem to have any deployment patterns to it, and it's slow as balls.
