I keep trying to change the "Hourly_alert.ogg" sound to a custom sound, but it keeps playing the default sound. I have no clue whats going on, or why it won't play the sound. Can someone help me out?

Hi Guys
Something weird and very irritating is going on with my diamond.
When I have the earphones plugged in the volume can't be changed, no matter what i do.
It's stuck on what seems like 3000 decibels. It makes my ears want to bleed.
Changing the system volume doesn't help at all, neither does chaning the volume of windows media player.
This happens anytime i play music, no matter what program I use.
The funny thing is - the sound of videos and the radio can be adjusted - no problem.
I really want 2 listen 2 music on the go...
Some1 please help!
Helloo? Anyone?
Pleeze help!
Can't help much as I dont use the headset and never have
Anything in the audio booster app that is playing up? Having never used the headphones, I dont know what the audio booster does but when I click on it, it wants the headphones/headset to be plugged in - I would assume by that the program does "boost" volume and so might help you solve the issue
I did have a look at the "audio booster".
It's basically just an equalizer.
Funny thing is, I am unable to select enable/disable on mine.
I am going on a trip next week and I would really like to use my diamond to listen to music while driving....
Pleeze people. Any ideas.
Any help would be aprreciated...
Thanx
i choose a mp3 ringtone with normal 128 kbps.
When someone calls my phone, i dont hear any ringtone. just 2 or 3 times a really silent scratching or something like that.
when starting the mp3 file as media (or even when choosing it as a ringtone) it plays with no problem.
only "broken" when getting a call.
anyone got a clue for that??
This happened on my WinMo phone one time, do you have it set to announce the caller or anything?
nope, i doestn set anything with the ringtones!
When i use the stock tones, it works. but when i try to use a self uploaded mp3 song, it won't work. and as is said, when playing it with the media play... no problems at all!
I have noticed some background noice when I play audio files in the music player.
I know from this thread that other people have the same problem but I have not been able to find a seperat thread that cover this.

The problem is easy to hear if you play music through the build in loudspeaker and then turn the volume to 0 while the music is playing. I have notice that when I pause the music the noice will continue for about 2 sec followed by a "click" and then the background noice will disapear (probaly because the device is going to some powersaving mode).
The problem remains with all the headsets I have tryed and are pressent on firmware jm7 and jm8.
Anyone noticed the same problem and more important do anyone have a solution to this problem?
unable to reproduce
i do play music from the building speaker quite a bit, as i keep testing music for my alerts anc custom alerts for each contact
Hi there,
I had this problem also... was playing with the TV out. Once I turned this off the problem disappeared. Have you tried the standard issue headphones... this might also be part of it, Samsung is using a different pin setup
that makes more sense go into settings and make sure the TV Out option is disabled, if you leave it on, it can interfere with the audio output
i recall this being discussed on another topic a while back
try unplugging the usb cable if it's connected...
It's a simple question and an annoying thing to me.
I've tried to search but didn't find anything helpful.
So, is it possible to the notification sound don't stop current playing music? Just like happen in iphone, the notification sound reduces the volume fo the playback, plays, and then the playback volume goes back to the original value, or, even just play in the same volume. The point is, to don't stop the playback.
The nearest thing that I've found was a solution through CM, and since there is no stable version of CM to note, it won't work to me.
If there is no solution I guess that I'll have to leave the notification on silent mode .
Audio sounds different on speaker phone through music app/file manager vs ringtone.
so... am audio file sounds normal but when i set it as ringtone, the bass destroys the whole audio, it's really very bad. anybody else have this issue?
i am trying to attach the file here but I'm not sure it's uploaded, otherwise, anyone who wanna test this should download a ringtone with high bass and try listening to it normally and in the ringtone setting area.
