Has BLU committed to a 7.0 update in any way? That would make it a nice value.

BLU does not have a very good track record with maintaining or updating their devices... If not for Amazon that variant would still be stuck on 6.1.... But it is a nice phone for the price.... We would stand a better chance of getting Nougat if everyone that bought the device contributed to a fund, and paid Tinno to develop it....
Never mind Nougat! I want the damn voLTE update that they promised and never delivered. http://forum.xda-developers.com/r1-hd/how-to/amazon-reviews-influence-blu-to-release-t3470582

Well you know technically we could sue them for false advertising and not going through with promises made to the end user. However, that is more hassle than its worth.

I don't think so, the only phones receive the Android 7.0 OS Update are of Nexus, Samsung, LG, Motorolla, HTC and OnePlus. There is no mentioning of BLU. But if you want to see in detail then here is the source :

I'm really liking some of the nougat feature modules coming out for xposed framework. Like Android N-ify and Assistant Enabler.

Better not expect it. Marshmallow still respectable, especially for general users who don't care if their phones got current version.
Not holding my breath
Would be nice. Sucks to buy a new phone only to find the NEXT android OS version comes out with new functionality like google assistant right after, and the phone MFR is all "sorry not upgrading that model" :silly:
Yeah, but it's much easier to take lack of updates on a $60 phone than a $600 phone!
Lenovo dropped updates on my, then $230, Moto G LTE xt1045 only 10 months after it was released. And that update from kitkat to lollipop was reported to have lots of problems.
Really? It's a 60 dollar phone it's already a heck of a value. It's not like 7 has any must have feature.

BLU did promise (actually "with a guaranteed update to Android 7.0.") to Android Authority during an interview about the BLU r1 HD, http://www.androidauthority.com/blu-r1-hd-announced-700951/
"US based, BLU Products, announced a new budget smartphone to its lineup for the US market. The BLU R1 HD is sold unlocked, backed by a 2500mAh battery and is currently one of the few devices yet, confirmed to run the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat when it arrives later this year."
Will be interesting if we actually see Nougat since we haven't even seen LTE band 12 yet and that was promised by both Amazon and BLU R1 HD (shortly after release) 5 months later no update yet.
I would expect an CM rom or something to be completed and working perfectly before BLU officially releases a Nougat update.

Huawei Mobile*has released the Android 7 Nougat update for the P9, P9 Lite and Mate 8 devices. Why they haven't done the same for the P8, P8 Lite and Mate S, this*only leads to one conclusion:
Huawei*only cares about the factory line revenue generation of their P9, P9 Lite and newer devices! All you customers who purchased new P8, P8 Lite and Mate S*a few months back, you can be sure that Huawei*only wants you to buy a newer mobile phones and leave older devices even if they are still sufficient by hardware side.
The hardware requirements for Android Nougat are irrefutably the same as Android Marshmallow.* Where is 18 month software support?

If I remember correctly it isn't really Huawei's fault. Google doesn't support the version for P8 because of security issues.
Anyway I wouldn't really looking for the Android 7.0, most of the UI is available in Launchers like Nova and other pars of it doesn't really make much of a difference.

EMUI 5 uses new filesystem format which makes phone faster and makes the phone fast even after a long time of usage becauses it doesnt fragment data, i think it could be noticable in midend phone like P8, shame we wont have it...

i dont know M8 but what i can say is huawei itself comfirmed that model P8 wont get further versions of android except those with security patch, Have HTC ever said that they will never get nougat? i think that even if huawei could bring it to us later, they just wont anymore, they released TOO many new devices since then, if they had to maintain all of them they would get crazy and no profit from that what so ever, if there is any hope is very, very small, and i dont have any anymore
I don't have a P8 but I remember always wanting one due to the awesome design. If developers can port Nougat to My Galaxy S4 then I really don't see why Hauwei can't make an official release for the p8. With 2 year software updates the norm I find this extremely unacceptable. The vulkan requirement is false, for I can run nougat on a S4 (custom ROM) and have no graphical issues at all. Good luck with your petition.

nope, you ain't seeing nougat on p8. we chinese users have been asking huawei since the release of emui 5, and all the answer from them is "no major functional upgrades, but security patches will continue". so stop hoping for official emui 5, and cross your fingers for third-party flavors like lineage. btw based on the status of the cm13 and lineage13 here, lineageos suooprt seems promising.

thats right, unfortunatelly im not willing to take this compromise, the phone takes fantastic photos and it doesnt pay off just for some extra features that doesnt matter in real life anyway, emui has everything that people could need, awesome battery life, fast ui, great phone manager and the most important for me, pro camera

The Galaxy Tab A 8.0, which is also known as the SM-T350, was spotted running Google's new software, Android 7.0. Check the attachments for proof.View attachment 4225926
After conferring with my contact at samsung he confirms there is a test build out there internally however will unlikely will be released at 7.1.1 to public and don't expect a leAK of the firmware I already asked and was told very resounding negative.

Thanks for the info but what does unlikely be released mean? How about android 7.0 then. I just got a Tab A 7" (SM-280)to replace my old nexus 2012, and find it really poor that this cant even be upgraded to MM at the very least. Not even a custom rom. Why Samsung is even promoting and marketing this all over the place as a 2016 version yet shipping it with 5.1.1 is appalling. Hopefully this internal build actually does make it out and can be ported to the T-280 as its nearly same spec. Should just be a downscaling UI difference I would think.
Sorry i must not gave specified what i meant i meant that it will unlikely be 7.1.1 that will be released it will most likely be 7.1.2

The T280 uses a Spreadtrum SoC while the T350 uses Qualcomm. That's a big difference.

Hi guys,
Recently Google announced that tomorrow 6th of December when they release 8.1 Oreo they're going to release also Android Go Oreo for low end devices, and would like to ask it would be possible to port this in the Nexus 4 ?
Because the device can handle it and it would be perfect for it to have an official lightweight rom
Here is also the link from the announcement

Yes I am also interested in this!!!

well depends, as a phone is ok but with only 16gb of storage installing only a few apps the storage gets occupied quickly or with only the Android OS installed but with GO at least you have latest Android OS and the low storage requirement is a plus...
Or on the other hand i could install other roms but something official is not bad either as a option !
Even Oneplus 6 open beta is going to be over in a matter of time and soon will be updated to stable Android Pie and we are already hearing news about Android Pie beta for Samsung S9+. Is Nokia planning to update Sirocco directly to Android Pie without beta labs? If no then it will be quite late. Nokia 7 Plus is still on beta and so many phones for Nokia to update to Android Pie. I wonder how much time will it take the Android Pie update to trickle its way down to low end devices from Nokia seeing the condition of the Flagship. Maybe I am being too skeptical. I hope Nokia increases its pace this time. And they are doing tremendous job with the fast security patches. Given that other companies releases and forgets their low end phones and even mid rangers , Nokia is doing great.
