Can you check if any device shows up in Device Manager when plugging your phone to the computer? Like qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 or similar.

Phone bricked itself. QHSUSB_DLOAD

Sadly, my HTC First somehow managed to quietly brick itself while I was carrying it around inside my pocket. :crying: It was rooted about three months ago, no other modifications. I have not installed any applications recently. I had a battery low warning (14%) maybe a couple hours before that, but hadn't had a chance to charge it.
I literally pulled it out of my pocket and there was no response of any kind. I plugged it into my PC to charge, but the charge indicator did not light up. Windows showed that it didn't find a driver for QHSUSB_DLOAD.
My warranty is void so... I suppose since the brick didn't happen while flashing anything (I repeat, I did not flash anything), I should have a better chance of recovery over USB, correct? I see instructions for some popular phones, but the procedure requires a dedicated package it seems. I would assume one does not exist for our phones. What do I do now?
I suppose I would feel better had I broken the phone myself, but having it just randomly brick on me like that is just crushing. :crying:
WOW THAT SCARED ME SO MUCH. HOOLEEEY SH*****T!
I plugged the phone into an old charger and it began to charge. I was able to turn it on. Does this mean that it's impossible to charge a phone from PC's USB when the battery is drained all the way?
Whew.

Yes that is true.
The reason for that is because to use a phone through USB you must have an alternating current. Aka electrons move back and forth. To and FROM the phone. The charger is a direct current. It simply pushes the battery to recharge.
Sent from my HTC first using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
htc first bricked QHSUSB DLOAD on device manager on pc.
hey geys i have the same issue. my phone was operating really slow and then rebooted by itself up to the facebook F LOGO, upon which it was stuck for over 15 minutes, i held down the power button until the device powered down, but it didnt restart as it was supposed to,
so i used the usb cable connected to a wall charger and its not charging nor booting up, there is no LED indicator that its charging either, the charger works.
stuck in qhs usb_dload mode
i also have that issue. i tried charging with different chargers to no avail. when plugged into computer it keeps saying qualcom HS-USB _QDLoader 9008.
Can anybody help with this issue?
aside from jtagging i would appreciate any advice

[FIX] Revive phone from the drain of death

this is a problem on Xperia Devices (at least the ones with a sealed battery my x10 never had this).
This drain brick happens because the hell i know, but is phone bricked, dark, no light , no vibration, nada, its was a real brick.
how i fixed it? sort of i fixed my Xperia T had to provoke charging but the Z1 doesnt have a red blinking light after charging it for a while... but it does have a magnetic charging port!.
now to the instructions. following what i did to try and revive my phone.
1. try to charge the phone for an hour or so.
2. most like it wont charge but if you connect it to the PC, it will sort of react to it, just try unplugging and plugging the phone till it reacts, you may even leave it to charge there just in case (for about 10 mins if you want i leaved it for 3).
3. get a 2 AMP charger, the original one or a known brand charger like anker (i did it with my anker charger and it worked).
4. get or Use a magnetic cable/dock and connect it simultaniously with the usb cable on the PC. (and no the magnetic cable wasnt enough to jump charge the phone).
5. if the stimulation worked, it should be able to show a really dim red led, that means your phone is still alive
6.let it charge it will turn on alone.
7. smile and cry out of joy because your 500-700 dollar phone still works.
if it worked or you have any modifications on this method leave a comment and hit the THANKS button.
btw i turned on my phone and it had 1% that means it never charged until i jump charged it.
Interesting. For normal charging, will plugging the Z1 to the USB and magnetic ports simultaneously speed up charging as well?

no you can't speed up charging. Charging speed is limited to cable quality, AC plug quality and software/hardware restrictions.
the USB on PC and magnetic cable combo for some reason helps to start the phone like you do when you want to recharge an depleted car battery.
It just open the circuit and let the phone charge again.
someone please confirm if this works for more than one person/situation.
Thanks for assistance btw, hopefully it works for all of us.
Nope doesn't work.
I tried it already.
Sorry guys.
Worked for me. Took some time before PCC registered it though.
help me please

as i told you on the PM write up how you bricked it exactly and what steps have you done so i can help you correctly.
i will post pictures of the procedure of how i did it when i get a few hours to edit and upload it.
Tried this trick last night. After 2 hours LED stopped blinking and became stable RED (no flashing). This is the first time in 1 month that LED stopped flashing, I was even able to Hold Power+Volume up button and it vibrated 3 times (nothing like that happened in the past). So it was a significant improvement from where I was 2 days ago. However, LED suddenly turned off and when I connected it to charger again it started to blink again. Buttons do not respond again.
Little info from the past:
I bricked my Z1 when I flashed .290 ROM. Left it on charge for 2 days nothing happened, flashtool would not recognize it and kept saying USB debugging off. Then I decided to open back cover and remove the battery so it could reset. That didnt resolve the issue and i just gave up.
Video instruksion would be very helpfull maybe

Yes. But the computer simply recognised it as a normal "unknown" usb device with usb debugging disabled.

Exact same thing happened to me. "USB debugging off"
All I did was plug in the magnetic connector, then with the PC turned on and Pc companion running I plugged in the USB, it took about 20 minutes to recognise it but once it did, I unplugged it, left it on charge via the magnetic plug for around 5 hours and although the charging symbol never appeared it booted into recovery the normal way (I did that just to see what would happen) then restarted the phone via Cwm and it worked normally from then on.

BY saying "Charging Symbol never appeared", do you mean LED was not red and turned off?

The symbol that appears on the screen.
I also kind of used this method.
I directly plugged in, in these steps.
1) Plug in magnetic charging dock with 1A charger (Plugged USB into charger)
2) Plug in USB with 2.1A charger (Plugged USB into charger)
Dim-ish red light popped up and the phone began booting.
Plugging into the phone for me wasn't as effective as plugging into the charger as I left it for a while and nothing happened but upon plugging USB into my single dual port charger this method worked to get my phone onto the charging screen, Android L
Had to plug the USB in and out a few times, not too many times, but eventually it booted up to the charging screen.
Be patient is the key I suppose?
For me worked with magnetic and usb 1A charger! Thanks!

[Q] i9070 won't power on, won't charge

Hello, I've got problem with my wife's galaxy s advance.
The phone has a latest stock rom, i don't know which one. (chacked in phone for updates like 2 weeks ago and it said that there were none). It was unlocked.
The phone was never flashed or rooted.
It was left with a charger plugged in yesterday for the whole night.
When we wake up, the phone was off.
Now if you plug in the charger it vibrates shortly after three seconds, no light no nothing.
If you press power it also vibrate shortly - nothing more happnes.
I tried to go to download mode or rcovery - nothing.
Tried to plug in to a pc using USB but it is the same...
Any ideas?
Is it only the battery or is the phone dead?
I got some progres
I plugged the phone to my pc with a diffrent cable, there is a plug in and plug out windows sound, the battery indicator shows up for like 5s, it is very low and the pattern starts all over again, i'll just leave it like this and see what happens
Maybe your wall charger is broken, try another one
AntaresOne - of course, I tried like 5 of them...
the phone reacts only in the pc, fter couple of minutes is still doing the "charge loop"
I've checked the USB in my pc and it's the "always on" one, maybe it provides more Ampers?
After an hour or so it stopped "charge looping" and started to just charge
Now is 28% and everything's back to normal.
Case closed

M7 will not power on. will not charge. jingles when plugged in.

Hello folks. thank you in advance.
I'm 99.9% sure my phone is done. I checked the forums and found similar issues - but nothing exactly like mine. after five day here is what happened, and my troubleshooting steps.
the issue started five days ago. my phone was plugged into my HTC wall charger, which was plugged into a power bar connected to the wall. I made dinner, ate, and came to get my phone.
the lights under the back and home buttons were lit up, but the screen was not. I pressed the unlock button
nothing happened.
I did it again
nothing.
seeing no other alternative I held down the power button until the lights flashed and the phone should have rebooted - instead, it shut off and never turned back on.
I pressed the power button. tried the volume down + power to access the bootloader for an FDR. but the phone still wouldn't power on.
I figured something was up with the battery. I plugged it in for a few minutes but the charging light never came on - it never even blinked.
so I charged it overnight.
the next day, the same thing.
no power, no charging no blinking.
I tried the wall charger, I tried my PC.
that was when I got a ray of hope - my laptop made the USB-connected jingle when I plugged the phone in. so I let if charge, but there was no light
this was when I turned to the forums.
I tried resetting the charging logic - charge for 10 min, unplug, hold down vol+ vol- and power for five minutes
five minutes and three very sore fingers later nothing happened. I tried the same thing holding the proximity sensor under a bright light (super blackout flashlight).
after this, I resigned myself to plugging the phone in for four days. it has been plugged into the wall charger since Tuesday. no red blink, not green light and still not powering on.
i'll also note that when the phone is plugged into a PC it show up in the device manager under the section "ports (com & LPT)" and is called "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4)".
i have also tried to boot the phone manually the ADB but it just says device not connected.
thank you in advane!
From what I know, if a phone is called Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4) (or anything with he first three words), then it has a hardbrick or is (sadly) dead... I can't help you, because I don't know how... I never had such a problem [emoji52]
Your phone can go in QHSUSB_DLOAD mode for 2 reasons:
Flashed an incompatible firmware ---> Recoverable
Hardware failure ----> Phone is dead (or will most likely need a new motherboard)
Since it went in this mode itself, then its #2.

Is my Mi5 dead because of battery drain?

Two days ago my phone turned off because of the battery which discharged during night. The next day I tried to charge it, but I only got a flashing red light. I decided to leave it under charge while checking similiar events on internet, who suggested to leave the phone under charge for at least 12hrs. Since i had to go out, i left it at home under charge for at least 20hrs and nothing changed.
If I connected the phone to my computer, it wouldn't read it, so i connected two pins on the back of the phone and found out that it is detected as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3), which means it's hardbricked.
How is it possible? What should I do? I've already bought a new battery, shipping is in 2 weeks.
