It would be helpful to a lot of people with bricked phones if we could obtain the full firmware package for the marshmallow update. It isn't released yet, but it should be a little after Verizon decides to start rolling it out again. If you'd like to help us out with this, please do the following:
To do this, you need a windows PC and a Droid Turbo running any official firmware. That's it! Your bootloader status is irrelevant, and your phone will not be affected by this process if you do it properly.
1. Plug your phone into your computer.
2. If you're on marshmallow, tap the notification that pops up and change your USB mode to Software Installation. If you're on any other official firmware, skip this step.
3. You should see the installer for the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant pop up on your computer. Install it and start it.
4. Boot your phone into fastboot mode (turn it off, turn it on while holding volume down) and plug it into your computer.
5. If you are on lollipop right now, in the future, it will give you the option to upgrade to marshmallow. If it says you are up to date, the package isn't out yet.
6. If you are on marshmallow, it will also tell you that you are up to date. Look for an option to restore your phone. If you don't see one, the package isn't out yet.
7. If you ARE able to upgrade to/restore marshmallow, the package is yours for the taking! Tell it to upgrade or restore as is applicable to you.
8. It will start downloading the firmware package. When it gets to 100% and tells you it's going to start installing it on your phone, unplug your phone from the computer.
9. Navigate to C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\MSU and find the zip file that is about 1 GB and some change. That's what we need!
10. Upload it, post it and be a hero. Or if you prefer, send it to me and I will reupload it and make it available.
Thanks in advance. I would do this, but I don't want to keep official software on my phone. I'm having too much fun with the 7.1 releases.

Hey, I can't update my SM-G925A to marshmallow 6.0.1, probably because it's unlocked. I thought about Odin but I couldn't find the right ROM online. Can someone help me find the right ROM or help me update it in another way? Thanks
Marshmallows is not available yet for G925A. Maybe will get it 2 years from now.

Marshmallow was just released for the G925A today, G920A yesterday. I've been calling AT&T every ****ing day for the past three weeks. FINALLY, the update is here. I'm still waiting for it to hit my region though. I would love a firmware file.
If that's true, super happy here.

At this point, I'm honestly not sure. Probably called AT&T over 20 times just today and each rep seems to be more stupid than the last. Some say it's out, others have no clue. As a new member, I'm not allowed to post the link, but it says on samsungs website that the AT&T S6 (non edge) is running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. If you'd like to see for yourself, go to samsung.com, in the search box type "g925a marshmallow" and click on the one that says something like "what software is my Galaxy s6 running?"
I am so done with this carrier. Never will I buy a phone locked to AT&T again.

Just got off the phone with a rep that seemed to know what he was talking about. He did confirm that the S6 has started rolling out, but the edge has not. He also said that if the s6 is out, the edge shouldn't be more than a week behind. He told me he'd call me as soon as it's released and as soon as I get the news, I'll update you guys. I know how frustrating this is!

Saw the same page you're talking about. Sounds like the OTA should be rolling out in the next couple of days.
Instructions on how to get 6.01 on G925A
1. YOU MUST HAVE OJ9 update on your phone.
2. Check "about devices" under baseband version.
3. Download all files from this link
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B04l-XMi07VKdkY0ZExzeEVHcFk
4. Open adb fastboot (MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS CONNECTED TO YOUR PC)
5. Put this file (SS-G925AUCU3BOJ9-to-U3CPD6-UP) in your main PC directory C:\ and change the name
SS-G925AUCU3BOJ9-to-U3CPD6-UP to OTA and place a copy of OTA in your phone main directory.
6. Shutdown phone.
7. Restart phone by holding down the POWER, HOME, and UP button at the same time. DONT release until you get an UPDATE LOGO on your phone.
8. Go to your computer in the adb fastboot and type adb devices
9. Then type adb sideload DO NOT HIT ENTER YET!!
10. Go to your main directory on your computer where you put the OTA file and drag it on the
adb fastboot after adb sideload and hit ENTER.
11. This process will take 1hr so be patient and let the phone reboot.
12. Once the phone reboot, you will have 6.01!!!!!
Tried both ways (Instructions on thread and attached to file) and no luck as of yet. I will retry this afternoon. has anyone else tried this yet?
Seems dumb but the only thing that I needed to do to get it to accept the ota.zip was to reboot. My guess is that windows has to be rebooted after installing adb/fastboot.

Reply ASAP. i am waiting on this
Samsung Experience Kiosk is a No-Go
AT&T unlocked my Samsung S6 Edge, at my request. They offered me an out last February when
they changed the DATA plan pricing structure. When Marshmallow was released I took my phone
the AT&T store where I purchased it (with the receipt) for the update. They would not touch my
phone since I was no longer a customer. So I called Samsung Corporate several times and was told
that since the phone was out of warranty, there was nothing they could(would) do. The last
Samsung rep I spoke to suggested that I take it to a Samsung Experience Kiosk in Best Guy for the
update. I took it to Kiosks in two different states and both refused to touch the phone for fear of
being sued should they "Brick" it. I finally got it updated by refusing to let them service any other
customers until it was done. It seems that the Kiosks are sub-contractors and not store employees.
The store manager got involved because I was costing him sales. To make a long story short, I now
have Marshmallow but have not gotten any security patches in a year. If you decide to try a Samsung
Experience Kiosk, be prepared to stand your ground - even then its a coin toss whether you get the
update.

Hi everyone. It has been a very frustrating experience with this mode.l I am trying to root the
Rooting At&t Asus Memo Pad 7 LTE (ME375CL). I have tried of provided solutions, one on this forum. even looked at YT vids and nothing worked. I would certainly love input from someone who either has the same model or is familiar with that model. I even tried Zenfone root but it does not work for that particularity built. Desperately need help in rooting this one. Its a tough nut to crack. Need the special forces of techies on this one.

[Almost] Stupid proof directions for Windows users:
1) Turn on device and wait for it to be on the "desktop" / main area.
1a) Plug in device into computer. WAIT UNTIL IT IS DONE INSTALLING THE DRIVERS BEFORE CONTINUING.
2) After you get that green check mark for the driver installation, extract the file you just downloaded (this is referring to the original poster's zip file link).
3) Run "CheckBeforeAction.bat" on Admin mode (Right click, run as administrator; this file can be found in the FOLDER of the zip file you downloaded earlier.)
3a) Follow prompts on the window that opens.
3b) If you follow the prompts, it should have restarted your device and you should be in a black screen with some minor text (aka Fastboot).
*** WARNING: IF YOU ARE STILL ON THE DESKTOP, YOU WERE IMPATIENT LIKE ME, AND DID NOT WAIT FOR THE DRIVERS TO INSTALL. ***
4) Once in Fastboot / black screen with text only, run "Root.bat"
5) It should complete successfully.
6) Restart device and you're all set.
ok thanks I will try it and see

I got this phone for free as a side order on Motorola's website and ever since I got it, it's had these issues. Returning or officially fixing isn't an option for me so i just want to know if flashing it with a custom rom can solve these issues.

I have the moto g6 XT1925-6
I think that's the standard US model. The simplest reflashing method might be to use an app that Motorola provides called the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant. In its Rescue mode, you can get it to find and download the latest stock factory rom, then flash it for you. Here's the text of a response a Motorola support person sent to a customer who was having problems:
--------------------------------
I kindly advise you to try using the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant software to re-flash the software (instructions below). We have had feedback from other customers that this has helped.
- First ensure that you have backed up all your data since this procedure will clear all the data on your phone. We also recommend that you remove your Google account from the phone beforehand otherwise you will be prompted to verify your Google account details after the software has been re-installed.
- Download and install the Lenovo MOTO Smart Assistant software via the following website:
https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/downloads/ds101291
- Once installed, launch the Lenovo MOTO Smart Assistant software and then click on "Flash" at the top of the screen and then select "Go Rescue".
- Select "MOTO Phone" and then select your "Product Name" and "Model Name" from the drop down menu.
- You will be prompted to put your phone in Fastboot mode. Power your phone off and then turn it on again while holding down the volume down button. Let go of both buttons once a screen with an Android lying on its back appears.
- Plug the phone into your PC. The Lenovo MOTO Smart Assistant software will detect your phone and you will see a link to download the target image for your phone.
- Once the download is complete, click on the "Rescue" button and then follow the onscreen prompts to re-flash the software on your phone. Do not unplug your phone until the installation is complete.
- Once the installation is complete, the phone will automatically reboot and an "Installation Complete" window will appear. Click on "OK" and then select "Finish".
-----------------------------------
The question has arisen about what to do with the SD card and SIM when using the LMSA. I don't know the answer, but I would remove both before flashing. Here's a Youtube video on LMSA:

Good luck, and please let us know how this ends up.

iI just recently acquired an Asus ROG phone 2 tencent edition . By default the item was loaded by global rom ( WW_16.0622.1906.19_0) and Finger Print version is asus/ww_1001d/asus_1001_1XXXXX. My current firmware so outdated already.
I would like to seek your expert advice on updating the firmware. I would like to update to version UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-16.0631.1908.12-1.1.3-user. Can i update the firmware directly to that version or do i need to update the older version of the firmware in order to install 1908 patch.? been using iphone for long time this is my first ever android phone. looking forward for your noob friendly advice.

Why do you want to update to 1908, when the latest is 1910.44? If you want to update to that...
Download the raw zip file from below, extract to root of c drive and remove the original zip from the same folder (if it's in there). Put ur phone in fastboot mode (from power of state, press and hold volume up and power buttons together until you see a menu with other options, that's fastboot). Connect to pc using the side port of phone and from the extracted folder run flashall_AFT.cmd for about 5 to 10 minutes,, once done the phone will restart. Then you have updated to latest rom. Running the flashall_AFT.cmd won't erase your data...

I just bought a new, unlocked z3p direct from Motorola. Unfortunately, the OTA system update in settings is telling me I'm up-to-date at Jan 1 '19, OPWS28.70-31-8. I've read some pretty awful stuff about using LMSA to flash updates, so I'm curious if there's an official repository of stock roms/updates/etc. and if I can just use ADB to update this thing myself. All I want is latest stock rom+security updates with root. The less involved the process, the better.
Additionally, if I go this route, do I need to manually install each intermediary update, or can I just grab the latest and put it on? A thorough reliable guide is enough; I'm just having trouble finding one that connects all the dots for a simple 'new phone' situation.
I'm fairly well versed at using ADB/flashing/etc. (nexus 4, 5x, g4 play, etc) but it's been two years since I've messed with it. Additionally I have very little idea how to navigate the unusual A/B partitioning.
Thanks!
UPDATE: My Z3P is now up to date with the September 1st security patch and Android 9. I bit the bullet and used LMSA (there's a trick to it) and am posting here so it can help anyone who was in my situation. First I'll list steps that should work for you, and then detail how I did it (which was a little different).
How To:
1. Get LMSA: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/update-moto-lenovo-moto-smart-assistant-t3951714
2. On your device, enable developer options and USB debugging. Ensure you have no screen-lock enabled.
3. Plug your phone in with LMSA open. LMSA app will install on the phone, give it every permission it requests.
4. Select your device model and LMSA will detect the latest build available. Download it.
4a. It might seem like the download is hanging once it reaches 0%. It won't tell you, but the file is being unzipped. Just leave it alone for a while. If the unzip fails, delete some stuff on the volume it's unzipping to.
5. Follow the steps on LMSA to update the phone. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR DEVICE. Just leave it be. It will look like nothing is happening, and/or LMSA will notify you of delays. Ignore them and let it go.
5a. Your device will be on a fastboot screen that prompts you to push the unlock button to "start". DO NOT TOUCH YOUR DEVICE.
What I did:
I got up to step 5, and kept seeing the 'delays'. I thought that it was a signal that LMSA needed me to press 'start' on the device end to help it begin the installation process. Incorrect. As soon as I did so, the LMSA process failed and my phone failed to boot with a message about a corrupt device.
At this point, I switched to the 'recover' tab in LMSA and let it recover with the same image I had downloaded for the update. However, this time, I just left it the hell alone at step 5. It took forever, so I walked away from it, and when I came back, my phone was booted into Pie.
When the fastboot screen is up, LMSA is working in the background to install the image. I'm quite certain that if I hadn't pressed 'start' on my device, my phone wouldn't have corrupted, and the image would have updated correctly. My suspicion is that many of the people having trouble with the LMSA are pressing 'start', which corrupts their devices because it boots while there's an incomplete image flashed to the phone.
