Hello,
First of all, I'm a long time reader of these forums, thank you all for the help you provide here.
I've had my blu r1 hd since september, and everything was working fine up until last month went my SIM card stopped being recognized, I don't know what happened, first it was working then it stopped working, then I moved the SIM card from slot 1 to slot 2 and that was working fine for like two weeks and then that stopped working too and now neither slot works, so I'm left with a phone that can't make phone calls. I converted the phone from prime to oem to see if that helped but it didn't, it's still the same. I didn't wipe it tho, don't know if that would change anything. I've tried other SIM cards and none are recognized. I entered *#*#4636#*#* into my phone, and under information it says "turn on radio" as if the cell radio was off.
Anyways, I'd appreciate any help. thanks!
This is a silly question but did you try another sim card? Sometimes sim cards just die. Happened to me not too long ago...

I did, it was one of the first things I tried, but it didn't help
I have the same phone, too. My sim card stopped working after I clicked on an ad/web link, that went straight to a malware website. There was an immediate pop-up message that came up, about the sim card not working/being detected; somehow the sim port got deactivated after this. Go figure.
Dear Sir,
Please tell me Indian SIM card 4g working or working?

I recently set up a VZW developer edition for my gf and she had been using it without any problems for about 6 days. Today she tells me she got some kind of pop-up message/warning that she can't remember the details of. The phone then rebooted and all service was gone. The phone is basically acting as if there's no SIM inserted now. I tried rebooting multiple times with and without the SIM inserted and still the same thing.
EDIT: OK, so I think the message she saw was just for a SU binary update.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
It could just be a bad SIM card.

Yeah, it's either the SIM or the phone; easier to start with the SIM. I re-activated her old phone and ordered a new SIM priority overnight.

20$ for whoever get me the solution if that's allowed here

Have you tried swapping the working sim card to the other slot, to verify that both slots are working?

the problem is only in slot2, and when i put a sim card in it while the phone is on it asks me to restart to get the sim to work
I would not have expected to be able to hot swap Sims. Did that used to work?
Just slot two, and does it do the same thing with both the Sims you own, or just one?

the point of the hot swap attempt is to see if slot 2 is still read the sim, and it still does
i tried both sims, same problem
no ideas ?!
20 days ago more or less I move to marshmallow developer preview (I don't know if this info could be useful).
Some days ago I changed phone operator. Before to change the sim they told me to wait the actual sim stop to receive the signal. I happened today. So I changed the sim, inserting the new sim, but it does not work. I mean it seems like the sim is not inserted.
I tried the new sim into iphone of my colleague and it works.
I thought it was for some instability of marshmallow and I just come back to lollipop 5.1.3 (wiped everything except the internal sd) ....but the sim is not recognized....Do I have to do a more deep wipe?
Or what it could be?
Thanks for you help
Ciao
If other SIM cards work, the SIM you are trying to install is broken. You need a new one.
My devices sometimes cannot read the sim card, and some times it can. No matter what sim I use, what ROM I use, and I've even tried another sim card reader, but the problem seem to be something else.
Anyone experienced this?
I've been looking for a way to emulate a sim card, like a soft sim solution, but it seem this is not easy..
Maybe it's time to let the old m7 retire...
Anyway, thanks to all contributors in this community, it's been awesome. Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Maybe the sim card isn't making a good contact when inserted in the tray, A few ppl got a similar issue and used paper to shim the sim card (not recommended since your sim tray can get stuck). I would try another sim first...

Yes, that's a common issue. The first steps was to use a little tape on the sim, second step was to try another sim, third step was to open the device and take out the sim reader, clean it with ethanol, check every pin and so on, then I tried another sim reader, but the problem still remains.
I too have the same problem, of signal on and off. I think the device detected the SIM card as it asked for PIN to unlock. I tried the *#*#4636#*#* to choose WCDMA only / preferred, but still same problem. So, did you retire the beautiful phone of yours?

Since not even replacing the sim reader solved the problem, it can no longer be used as a phone.
And anyway, the battery is getting seriously old, so when my dogs destroyed my remote control, the good old HTC one m7 now have a new life, filled with joy and happiness.
Anymote app is nice, and m7 are now a media control hub in my living room.
Since April 29 2013 this device have improved my life quality, with the good help from this great community on XDA.

I think there is only one way... Rtm
Powered by Nokia 8
I had a similar problem, after first update in android 7.whatever my sim card worked but couldnt go online, just via wifi. I could make calls and recieve texts. I got a new simcard and that helped. Later Oreo came and my phone glitched out when i had the simcard installed. But when i took it out it worked. Sent it to nokia support center and got it back today, what happend? Yes the phone works, i can make and recieve calls/texts. But i cant go online without wifi. Asked my provider for a new sim card now, will return and write if that works.
and I have this problem. Have you found a solution?
Weird, my TA-1052 suddenly got this problem yesterday, SIM card state keep looping between detected and undetected, after several loops phone will reboot and reboot again and again.
But when I switch the card to the other slot and reboot, all things seem to be fine. Then at some random time of the day this problem shows up again and I have to switch the card back.
I can 100% reproduce this bug by insert 2 SIM cards together, phone will stuck in a loop and reboot, but logcat shows nothing suspicious.
Tried factory reset but nothing happened.
Since both SIM card slots actually work and I haven't updated system recently, I guess this shouldn't be hardware-related.
