I recently set up a VZW developer edition for my gf and she had been using it without any problems for about 6 days. Today she tells me she got some kind of pop-up message/warning that she can't remember the details of. The phone then rebooted and all service was gone. The phone is basically acting as if there's no SIM inserted now. I tried rebooting multiple times with and without the SIM inserted and still the same thing.
EDIT: OK, so I think the message she saw was just for a SU binary update.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
It could just be a bad SIM card.

Yeah, it's either the SIM or the phone; easier to start with the SIM. I re-activated her old phone and ordered a new SIM priority overnight.

I got my Bionic in the mail from an online reseller yesterday and, so far, have been unable to get past the Welcome to Droid Bionic screen. When I originally took my Bionic out of the UPS box, I didn't see that there was a small SD card burried under the packaging, so I went to VZW store to get a fresh one. They were able to deactivate the old SIM card and activate another one and popped it in. Unfortunately, the new card is not recognized by the phone. They tried a second card and it does the same. The phone says "SIM card is from an unknown source." They VZW techs told me it was the phone and I needed to return it.
When I got home after spending hours at the VZW store, I found the original SIM card in the UPS box and popped it in. The phone recognizes this original card and tries to go through activation but, naturally, fails since its number was disabled at the VZW store. I'm wondering if it's worth it to try to go back to VZW again to try another card now that the phone has shown that it is capable of recognizing SIM cards or just scrap it and send the phone back for a replacement. Maybe there is a trick I can do to get things working again with the original card?
Any suggestions or past experiences with this would be helpful.
Thanks.

Bumping because I've had a similar issue. Must suck not being able to use the phone
perhaps you could name the online resaler as to avoid headaches for other consumers
i had similar problem. had to go get new sim card. then it wouldnt activate. the verizon store people told me it was the phone and to send it back. i told them i wanted a second opinion and made them call tech support. while i was waiting for them to ansewer the phone. i did a factory reset. it booted and activated no problem then.
mine was from letstalk.com. but i think it was my fault i needed a new sim
The reseller was LetsTalk.com but I don't think that it is their fault. I'd like to say that there is just something going on with the card registrations. The phone has proven that it's able to recognize SIM cards. I just need it to recognize an active one now.
I will try a factory reset once I get back to the VZW store and get an active SIM card to pop in.
UPDATE
I was able to get the phone to recognize another SIM card after having registered the original one with the device. VZW activated a new card and got it up and working.
If anyone else is having this problem, I would suggest going through the motions of activation with the original card (assuming its not recognized as being from an unknown source) and then having VZW activate a fresh SIM.
Thanks for the input.
Hey guys
I have a tmobile hd 7 here
it had an atnt sim card, and worked, the phone was unlocked
as soon as i put an active tmobile card it gave the invalid sim error.
So i researched and decided to replace the sim tray.
Got the new sim tray over a month later and the problem didn't go away.
Did a factory reset, still nothing.
This is a tmobile phone, so any idea why this is happening?

Maybe it's your sim card problem.

That was the first thing I tried. I wouldn't have ordered a new SIM tray without testing that first...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have searched and could not find an answer to my issue. I purchased a T-mobile variant Galaxy S6 it was stuck on the Samsung logo but I only paid $100 so I figured worst case scenario sell it for parts. I managed to get it to boot everything works except cellular service. If I remove the Sim it says "Sim Card Removed" Restart. After restart it goes immediately to No Sim Card . I insert the Sim and it says "Sim card Detected" Restart. After Restart No Sim Card???? Checked IMEI its clean, flashed stock via Odin, pulled what little hair I had left out. Any words of wisdom? Thank you in advance for your time. forgot to add no mobile networks option at all in settings?
Does the SIM card work in another phone?
yes sim card works in other phones
Could be why you paid $100 for it. If your SIM works in another phone then there is a issue with the S6 being able to read your SIM. Have a friend with T-MOBILE? Try their SIM card. You might have a picky SIM.
of coarse it's why I paid a $100 for it, no matter what I can get my money back out of it but I was hoping to be able to fix it. Tried several sim cards same thing it recognizes the card restarts no sim card. I was thinking it might be the sim card reader itself but the fact that there's no Mobile networks in settings makes me think it's software related? Oh well I guess parts on ebay here I come. Anyone need a new display LoL
Same issue
Hi there. I have exactly the same issue with an O2 unlocked S6. I used my Ee sim on it till two weeks ago when suddenly i lost all network capacity (same as you). Previously i flashed an unbranded stock firmware in order to get rid of the o2 logo (may seem stupid but that was what i did). After 2 weeks of normal use with the new rom suddenaly i couldn't give/receive calls /texts. Since, i tried wiping, flashing, advanced wiping etc but same issue. Any advice is more than appreciated.
I recently purchased Nexus 6 and since it uses nano-sim, I used a sim-card cutter to make my micro-sim a nano sim. Worked fine for a while but then all of a sudden I started getting messages about no sim card. Reboot always fixes the issue, but this happens like 30 times a day, so rebooting the phone that often doesn't seem like a good idea. The phone also freezes all the time, no matter what I do, and then at other times it works like a wonder. I've had a Nexus 6 phone before (this is my 2nd) and it had the same issue. Apparently nothing was wrong with it.
Is the SIM-card causing these freezes, or is this a part of the world-wide issue that has been reported recently in the media? No other phone has had issues with my SIM-card, even though I used the cutter to make it nano. So I doubt it's a faulty sim-card. I've tried LG G4, Xperia z3+ and others and they've not had any issues with the cut sim.
edit
I've noticed the freezing happens most when I've recently charged the phone. Last night I left the phone on charger and when I woke up, the phone had switched itself off.
edit2
I've tried resetting the phone, also hard reset. Didn't help.
A method to check if your cutted sim card is damaged or not is to remove the sim card and replace it with a working sim card of another phone.

Yep. I switched the sim and works fine now.
Hello,
First of all, I'm a long time reader of these forums, thank you all for the help you provide here.
I've had my blu r1 hd since september, and everything was working fine up until last month went my SIM card stopped being recognized, I don't know what happened, first it was working then it stopped working, then I moved the SIM card from slot 1 to slot 2 and that was working fine for like two weeks and then that stopped working too and now neither slot works, so I'm left with a phone that can't make phone calls. I converted the phone from prime to oem to see if that helped but it didn't, it's still the same. I didn't wipe it tho, don't know if that would change anything. I've tried other SIM cards and none are recognized. I entered *#*#4636#*#* into my phone, and under information it says "turn on radio" as if the cell radio was off.
Anyways, I'd appreciate any help. thanks!
This is a silly question but did you try another sim card? Sometimes sim cards just die. Happened to me not too long ago...

I did, it was one of the first things I tried, but it didn't help
I have the same phone, too. My sim card stopped working after I clicked on an ad/web link, that went straight to a malware website. There was an immediate pop-up message that came up, about the sim card not working/being detected; somehow the sim port got deactivated after this. Go figure.
Dear Sir,
Please tell me Indian SIM card 4g working or working?
