ABD wont authorize on ubuntu 16.x - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok i had used the desktop version of kingroot to root the device, and despite my adb drives still refusing to work on windows it worked for both the tablets. but now when i plug it into ubuntu to start removeing kingroot and adding supersu i don;t get the aurthorizeation notafication and i have tried revoking all and disabling and re-enableing adb and restarting computer and tablets but now it just wont authorize. all these simple tutorials have turned out to be complete nightmares for me. i have never had such a difficult time hacking a single device in my life and that includes wiis psps other kindles eta.

Don't know what to say...securing adb access/authorization has not been a high hurdle for most visitors to these pages including many with little/no technical background. Possible you have a finicky USB cable?
Once rooted the SuperTool is only needed to gracefully remove Kinguser. You could pop open the batch file and issue the relevant commands manually as needed. Blocking OTA involves renaming a single file. After that FlashFire can be sideloaded from APKMirror.

yea problem is that super tool is not working on linux it says it is working and success but dose nothing, i can't use the super tool on windows becasue adb drivers not installing despite folowing tutorials closly how to install i just run into problem with no what if that problem not solved. it really sucks howcome is this 5.1.2 so ****ing hard to hack root on. i would rather have to hack 30 wiis blind and 30 psps blind than this. it is just for some reason i keep running into errors. where normaly i run into no errors or common errors that a google search can fix. :/

[HELP]cmd adb error msg...

I already have my pc setup with adb. It appears to be working just fine. I'm trying to setup adb on my laptop and is running into all types of problems. I've downloaded the sdk and ran the sdk setup.exe and downloaded all the latest files, and of course the usb driver. I was able to successfully install the driver and was able to connect my G1 for file transfer. I've followed the guide info to the letter but for some strange reason I get the following:
Code:
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device not found
I've already tried uninstalling the newest driver and installing the working one from my pc, then I tried downloading a driver that was listed by a user in this thread. Still no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

1) Done [Don't insult me!]
2) Tried 3 different drivers. All allowed me to connect my G1 to transfer files, but not ADB.
3) ...shouldn't have to install linux. My pc (running windows abviously) works just fine. My laptop, running windows, should work the same.
Thanks for the assistance though...

I really wouldn't except this behavior from you, but I see we all fall from grace every now and again. I've posted in that thread already, no one can seem to come up with an intelligent response. I followed all the instructions in both adb help threads for proper installation on my laptop. If you don't know the answer to what I'm seeking, I would honestly prefer you not to reply at all. Don't assume I'm the typical xda idiot, assume I'm the most intelligent person you've ever spoke to, then go from there with your next reply.

you posted a couple of hours ago, duplicating posts might be considered spam
you didn't really give any useful information in your post(s)
and if I were to assume your were, then this is just some boring role play thing at a job interview or something, as you wouldn't really need anyones help on this.

Check your firewall. Make sure it's not blocking the connection. Also, are you using the same USB cord on both machines?

Thank you for trying to "actually" assist me. I am using the exact same usb cable on purpose to rule that out as a reason. I've also recently update both computers to the latest norton antivirus. Like I stated the drivers install on the laptop and I'm able to connect the G1 for file transfers, so I assume the driver is working but when I type in adb device or adb shell in cmd, I get the no device msg. I'm really stumped with this one...
*Update* My norton did remove adb.exe from windows\system32 on both computers, but I was able to restore that file on both. Like I said, my pc works just fine, laptop no good...
And point 3
Install linux ( ubuntu 10.4 )
Just give it 10gb
It will eliminate hardware faults as being the problem
The android developer has a tutorial for 10.4, so it should be easy
( no need for drivers, aparently 10.4 ships with the android udev rule )
the driver for file transfer isnt the same as the driver for adb....so your logic is flawed
seriously tho, use linux...wubi is pretty good now and u only need 4-10gb if u are only using it for android stuff
in my experience, windows, especially where norton is used, randomly breaks adb
The file transfer is done using the standard windows mass storage driver, not an android specific driver. Even if it's the same norton, try disabling it and see what happens. Also, trying removing the driver completely and reinstalling it again. I've had the issue happen also only when in windows and it's always something random.
virtualbox _should_ ( I think ) let you 'see' the Android Phone regardless of the drivers being installed on the Windows host
But, I have not tested that
Did you ever get this to work, I have the same issue?
I'm having the same issue, I'm trying to use ADB with my TF300T from a Windows 7 64 bit system. Always get the error adb error.
I have a couple of questions will this work correctly with a 64bit O.S?
Also the part of the instructions that reference SDCARD are they talking about the directory on my ASUS /sdcard/ or are they talking about the physical card?
Just need to know does it require you to have a sdcard in the ASUS to use adb?
May sound like fundamental questions to a lot of you, however I have combed through these forums as well as others all over the web, and the majority of instructions seem to be lacking the basics.
Thank you,
I have Ubuntu at work should I run ADB through this?
I have Ubuntu at work
It's a bit of a process according to the instructions that I have on the
screen right now to setup ADB through this, is there any gotchas that I should
know about before attempting this?
This is running on a VM on one of my servers. What I'm looking for is any known compatibility issues with versions of ADB and the Asus TF300T running .26
Thanks in advance.

Yo. nookdevs dot com ADB_Over_USB
This is my second post of eight minimum. Won't let me paste a hyperlink.
Also, scan the developement section and look for some of the market zip files for Froyo.
Once you get on the market, download ADB wireless. I find it better than ADB over USB.
NookDevs also has very good tips for Froyo and where to download what.
For some reason when you simply install JUST the install.exe it doesn't work (well it didn't for me atleast) I had to also run the DPInst64.exe since I am on Windows 7 64-Bit OS. After runing the DPInst64.exe and letting it install I was able to use ADB over USB.
If you are running a 32-Bit OS DO NOT run the DPInst64.exe - Use the DPInst.exe instead.
I had MAJOR issue getting ADB to work.
All my info came from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910008
You really need to read and re-read this and make sure you follow the exact instructions and it will work.
The problem that caused me some issues was the USB Debugging check mark was not on. But that was a problem with Auto-Nooter 3.0, you are using Froyo.
I can confirm that once the ADB drivers are installed with Auto-Nooter, they will automatically be okay when you are in Froyo (which I am now). I did not have to redo anything.
I spent several hours uninstalling/reinstalling devices and usb ports, etc in Windows Device Manager. Both on Vista 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit. They all work fine now simply by following that thread.

[Q] ADB Problems installing on W7x64 (Composite Driver wont show)

HI,
I've had success installing my other android devices on my windows 7 x64 computer, have even used my (ADB) Nook Colour on a windows 7 32Bit laptop fine.
Problem: Android Composite ADB Driver wont install/ isn't found, Device is Auto Nootered on 1.1 using rooted stock firmware.
Tried:
I have the .android folder in my user profile dir with the device ID in it
Followed various wikis and guides (that worked for the 32Bit version)
Watched the driver load/unload in device manager as I tick 'Development Mode (enable ADB)'
Tried various driver packs from here and googles latest offering, still only matches up with Android ADB Driver not the Composite (wont even show me the composite one)
Wireless ADB works and is disabled, worried about installing CWM using wireless for some reason USB feels safer to me
Thinks I noticed:
Hardware ID is listed as USB\VID_2080&PID_0002 which matchs up with %SingleAdbInterface% in the ini file for the driver, composite aka %CompositeAdbInterface% has &MI_01 on the end. Not sure if that means its not getting the right hardware ID from the device when ADB/ Development mode is enabled of if having the wrong driver loaded on it shows up the wrong Hardware ID.
Things I havent tried, enabling ADB on the Nook using sqlite3 method, but if it works on another coputer didn't think it would be a good idea.
Plan:
Install CWM, flash CM7 or similar to device.
I had the same issues with Windows 7 64-bit and never got it working. Worked fine on my WinXP laptop at work though. If you find a solution I would be happy to hear it, but to be honest I have found I haven't really needed ADB much if at all.

Same here!
This one is weird...
I'm on win7x64 and I *have* got adb to work at times. When I was first rooting my new NC (1.1.0), I fiddled with it and I had it running over usb fine. But now, when I plug in the usb and I either get that the device is unrecognized or it goes into usb sync mode. Haven't quite figured that out...
But, ultimately, I just use adb wireless for any adb stuff, although it's "not recommended". It's worked perfect for me all along.

Glad to help. What do you mean USB Auto Mount? I kind of thought that should happen?
My goal for getting adb working was to get su, which i got here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953110 with a bit of trouble but seems to work, so that i could drag items from my pc onto HC. I'm using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952456 to mount the media directory. I now seem to have su installed and the USM app is working. i only see my BN media directory from my pc now (yay) but i can't browse that directory from my nook HC (boo). So i can't share files between eggclair and HC. I'm a noob to nook and newbe to linux, so i'm assuming it is a permissions issue but don't have enough knowledge on how to change them yet.
I've installed DropBox but it keeps asking for an SD card, which isn't a big issue, just i haven't found the time to go buy one. Is there a way to use db without an SD card?
unfortunately no, db requires external storage. if you opened the apk to recode its default directory maybe but im not sure its possible
usb auto mount I can disable in nook tools but its a persistant system that defaults every reboot, I dont like to see it popup while using the nook when I plug it in just one of many peeves
Things I noticed:
In the Driver ini it states &MI_01 means composite driver is installed.
Under Hardware ID I only get :
USB\VID_2080&PID_0002&REV_0216
USB\VID_2080&PID_0002
This leads me to believe that even though the box is ticked on my nootered Nook that its not really enabling ADB on the device (then maybe it would show &MI_01 as needed?)
Going to flash a new firmware.... maybe Froyo and see if it comes up right after that.

I thought that as well and flashed back to the EC 1.0.1, sideloaded 1.1 update and repartitioned, used cw to add HC back and all that, and still had the same issue. Came down to the ini file not having a NookColor section.
Did you check the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987409
I'm no stranger to drivers, I could force it to use the driver by changing the ini files but it still wouldn't appear in ADB Devices.
Flashed Nooky FroYo and now the device driver states the hardware ID has the missing '&MI_01' which means the composite driver works out of the box.
I used IOMonsters Easy USB installer and it seems to have installed the drivers for Windows 7 64Bit Fine
After running the install .exe I also had to execute the Inst64.exe

[ROOT]Help with 7.3.1 KFHD 7"

So I have run into several problems using several different methods, none of which have worked properly and I really need some help. Now, I am by no means stupid when it comes to computer stuff but I am not a programmer nor any sort of software engineer. I understand much of the command line stuff and some simple code but I don't understand why nothing I have tried is working. So let me list the problems I've run into in my attempts to root my KFHD 7":
Root Many Android:
I am using v28 (which I believe is the latest and is reported to work on my device hardware and software).
I am unable to run the batch file as an administrator which I believe is the problem that results in the "permission denied" errors when trying to push the packages like superuser and busybox.
I am certain I have followed the tutorial to the letter so I don't know where I am going wrong. I can open the command window as an admin and cd to the C:\Root and run the batch but that doesn't fix the permissions errors.
Qemu:
I am using the latest version.
I select option 1 to root and it runs through the processes but nothing works and it just goes through several reboots so I am assuming it is running into the same issues as RMA, above.
KFFirstAide:
I am using the 64 bit as per my system. I run through option 21 to root my device using method 2 (Preferred).
It shows some success in that I can see the apps BusyBox Installer and Root Checker, however it does not push the rest of the packages necessary and this is evident by when it says I should receive a SuperSU or SuperUser popup, nothing happens and so the rest fails, though it says the root check passes in the final step.
So now I ask, is there a better way or something I am doing wrong with my Kindle Fire HD 7" 7.3.1?
Thanks in advance.

Simple explanation to fix ADB unauthorized device in 'M'

QUESTION: Can someone please explain in simple form how to fix the ADB unauthorized issue that has been present since the update to M? The option for removing any current rsa keys is gone from the developer settings. And when you plug your phone in to a new computer it used to pop up a notification that would let you accept the rsa key. None of this is working any more. I cant believe that it is not a bigger issue and I have spent a few hours over a few days looking for a solution so if I have missed it, I am sorry. I have read a few things that say that google has just removed the ability to use adb and one post even explaining that, what looked to me to be a prop file variable, needed to be changed from 0 to 1, or vise versa, but didnt explain where the variable was. I dont see anything that I am confident with in the build.prop. Thanks. Please explain so that anyone will be able to overcome this issue, or point to a link.
Are you talking about the option to "Revoke USB debugging authorisations" under Developer options? It's there, at least on my N6 running stock 6.0.1 MMB29V... And I just tried to ADB to my device and the popup for the authorisation came up on the phone, just as it should.
I think you have some other problem going on.
Are you running the latest adb/fastboot tools on your PC?

Yes I am, I always use the one directly from the 'platform-tools' directory in the SDK. Another thing is I have read multiple articles that actually state that Google has removed the adb functionality in marshmallow... I don't get it. I even went from stock G.E. to CM an its exact same problem. Not to mention now I am dealing bwith the fact that the nethunter kernel isn't compatible with the CM build for Nexus... What!? Anyone can enlighten me on that subject I would love to know that as well... LoL. Here is link to one of the ADB articles though.
Tekto-kodi.com/kodi-news/marshmallow-android-6-removes-adb/
I looked at your link and the links provided in that article. The only thing I can read from those is that the ability to run ADB from your phone, i.e. from the terminal emulator (not your PC) has been removed. Are you trying to run ADB from your phone or your PC (I was under the impression that you're using your PC, but I have to ask)?
As I stated before, ADB from my PC to my N6 works just fine with Marshmallow (6.0.1 MMB29V).
You say that you use ADB directly from "platform-tools", but you don't say if you've updated the tools from the SDK-manager.
