I have not been able to use 3rd party camera apps like Camera360, QR Code Reader, Vignette, Magic Hour etc. It installs fine, but when I open it, the screen is just dark and blank. Using a rooted phone (DDKB1) I've experienced no problems while using the stock camera app. Can anyone help?
dude i am using vignette and 3d panorama like applications but i did not faced any problems like this
Sounds like u have removed the stock email app.
For some strange reason the stock email app is linked to all other camera related apps, try reinstalling it.
Even i hav removed email ap but camera works perfectly

wow! thanks guys...i had used startup manager to remove some of the apps that i thought were unnecessary. here are the apps that i added back to the start-up:
skype, yahoo mail, market, google maps
and now camera360 is working again but QR Code Scanner is still not working.
EDIT: QR Droid Private (code scanner) is working! Thanks a lot guys!

Are you using free or paid? Any good free apps to enhance pic quality key or add functions to camera

Sorry question was wrongly phrased. Don't need pic editing but need more functions to camera if available (if that improves picture quality). Don't need special effects like frames and things but any way the picture can be better. Any good free apps for this.

Glad it helps
Lemme clarify it a bit for those who may come across it in the future.
- Removing the stock email app with screw up other apps which have camera related feature. (my experience was Qr code, cam scanner)
- After removing the email app, your stock camera should still function well. However, 3rd party camera program will not (my experience was Pudding Camera). So, basically it is not 'cannot use camera', it is 'cannot use most camera related apps'
- My version to fix it is to reinstall the stock email app.

Great thanks man! I've reflashed my phone 2 times because of this and got the same errors with barcode reader and all other applications, I can't imagine that disabling starting email application can cause that type of problems! )
Hi everyone
Anyone have any idea how to the fix the camera on my phone?
When taking a picture or focusing the camera will freeze, the sidebar will slide across, and then the force close window shows.
My front camera is also failing.
Tried restoring stock camera from June via titanium backup however does not install.
What other steps shall I take?

Okay guys so earlier today I tried to take a picture with my razr i but the camera button wasn´t working so I decided to enter from the launcher. I couldn´t find the camera icon (Im using a custom launcher but it is not in the hidden apps). Used pixlr express to take the picture and it reads "No camera application found. Your camera may be disabled". I checked and the camera is NOT disabled.
I had been using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206206 for a few months without any problems so I had a backup from MotCamera.apk and MotCamera.odex and if I move them to /system/app I can use it, but when I reboot it dissapears again!
any help would be appreciated thanks in advance
I got a small issue with camera apps with Dynamic Kat.
- can not zoom in/out.
- there were only 3 mode: Auto, Beauty, Panorama; I also copy and replace camera apps by the one from another user using this ROM, or using the S5 cemera apps-ported for Note3 or install camera mode from Galaxy app store but can not fix.
Please help me to extract camera app from stock ROM so I can try another solution.
Thank in advanced

I remember being able to enable more manual options for the camera in 4.4.4, but I'm not seeing anything conclusive about our current software.
Anyone have any ideas?
There is a modded moto camera app.
I believe I found it by googling just that.
The last page on that thread has the lollipop version.
If you can't find it let me know.

I still can't post links yet, but search Google play store for "Open Camera" by Mark Harman. Basically can turn your phone camera into a DSLR. Has a bunch of options to adjust.
Best of all it's free, open source and no ads! :good:
