Can I upgrade using OTA for security patches and 7.1.x? Will I have to re-root?
Thanks!

I have 5.0.2 with root using kingroot with twrp recovery. Can I flash 5.1 pre-rooted rom so my phone is updated to 5.1 and still have the root? I cant search a kingroot method for 5.1 so I'm asking this. I dont know what pre rooted means too. Thank you!
So before I rooted and unlocked I took the stock MM update, but Xmod doesn't support MM so I want to downgrade. My question is do I need to do anything special (ie change kernel or use different SU) or can I just flash the stock Lolli and root and be good-to-go?
Current setup: XT1095 on stock rooted (Beta 2.52) MM running TWRP 2.8.7.1 recovery
Solution: Full factory wipe in TWRP, installed Lollipop flashable zip and SuperSU v.2.65 now all is good and Xmod is working great!!!

I want to get CM13 running on my AT&T GS5 and need a little help before I get started.
Guide for GS5 CM13 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-android-6-0-t3237502
Current Status:
-Rooted
-Build = OC4
- Kernel = 3.4.0 Mar 16 2015
-Recovery = Stock
The guide requires TWRP which isn't an option with the locked bootloader so I need Safestrap but there isn't an apk for OC4. There is only NC3. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794087
Is there a Safestrap apk for OC4 or do I need to downgrade to NCE first? It seems people have had varying degrees of success and failure with this downgrade.
Can I flash CM13 with Safestrap from the NC3 build? It seems like a bit of a jump from 4.4 to 6.0.1
Has anyone done this?
Thanks!
You can install the old safestrap, it just won't work unless you flash the nc3 kernel, then flash the lollipop one to get back out. CM roms won't work on our phone, especially not an MM one. Stick to the att s5 forums, to be on the safe side, unified development does not apply to us.
Hi there,
I'd like to update my rooted 3T to nougat, I currently have oos 3.5.4, twrp 3.0.2 (don't know the rest of the version) and its rooted with supersu 2.79
I don't mind if I loose root, as long as the update is as easy as it can get. I read somewhere if I just do it via the ota in the settings, it will replace the recovery with stock, then just updates and I just loose root. That would be perfect, but I'm afraid something will go wrong there...
