Stock and google apps you can delete [root] - LG K10 Themes, Apps and Mods

So why not clean up our device a bit (just to make some sense to root)
On the attached screenshots you can see that after a clean firmware reflash there is 3.13Gb free space on the device. As soon as you update those apps (only those, nothing else was installed, only stock and google apps) you will only have 1.72Gb free space (i mean wtf???). However i've deleted all the apps one-by-one to see what can be deleted without causing any harm and that way i managed to have 3.18Gb free space (kinda useless, cos i deleted google play store and the photo app as well... just for testing purposes)
So here is the list you can delete and your phone will still boot up without any error messages:
(use a file manager that can handle your root folders and delete them)
system/apps folder:
you can delete any apps from here that's been ever updated since the updated apps will be stored in the data/apps folder and these "stock" apks are not used anymore but apps will be working without any issue.
if you want to totally get rid of an app you can uninstall it from options/apps (sometimes there will be only the disable option but it will totally delete them if you deleted manually from the system/apps folder) - stop the application first and delete its cache and data if you don't want some useless files to stay on your device.

Naturally you better make backups (just copy) of each folder you delete and if you ever want to put it back watch out for permissions of the files! Also you be sure about what you delete, maybe it's used by some other apps...
If you find anymore, feel free to share with us and i'll update the OP

[Droid] [Q] Deleted too many system files after root?

I recently rooted my Droid 1 with One Click and now have Super User access. From there I grabbed an Milestone Overclocking app to simplify speeding up the phone, (as I have mentioned in other threads I am completely out of my element with phones since they don't have a internal combustion engine) as well as Root Exlorer from the market. Then I went into the world of deleting .apk files that I had read here that were unnecessary and completely safe to remove. Along with those I also got rid of, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Amazon MP3. Since this I have not been able to get past "Getting Driving Directions" on my Navigation. I have checked with others I work with and they had some issues as well with Navigation over the past week. Both Droid 1 and 2 users reported the same issues of screen stall to me. As of Friday one of the users of Droid 2 let me know that his Nav was once again working properly, mine is still not. Did I overdo it on deleting and get rid of something that is causing this problem? My Maps still give proper directions from my location, (no matter where I am at the time of testing) but once going into Nav, stalls. If I did get rid of too many how can I get those files back to my phone so everything works again as desired? I am now left with the following .apk files (.odex files as well):
Account and Sync Settings
Applications Provider
Bluetooth
Browser
Calculator
*Calendar Google
*Calendar Provider
Camera Google
Cert Installer
Contacts

(*) I never input any events into my calendar, but I do like to look ahead at times for planning reasons, do I need all these?
Alright, I will leave you all alone and continue being a gearhead, drinker and general knuckle-dragger until more questions of me are asked or answers are available, thank you all again for all of your help!
hmm....i delete over 100 apps from delfy but if you delete all of it you will lost may fuctions
You wiped too much. Some apps are both app (as per UI for user) as data providers for certain functionality. You can tell that by looking in Manifest but you have to have enough knowledge to judge. Rule of tumb is to always move stuff off-side (i.e. to SD card folder) and not removing directly as you got no way back in case of failure, especially sometimes you may find out something does not work far too late. I wiped crap like GMail or Navigation and other 3rd party useless apps but I'd suggest to stay away from removing apps that may offer ecosystem functionality. Potential savings (like 200KB) vs time wasted on restoration is simply not worth for most cases.
Corp Cal - Corporate Calendar. Requires Exchange server. Probably safe to remove but again - do you *really* needs that to be removed?
Thank you for the info. Where would I be able to find all the original system apps so that I can add them all back and delete more carefully next time?

CyanogenMod7 - rc13 Barebone

Hi there,

Do a Nandroid backup, just in case you broke something.
I take no responsibility if you bricked your stone
Methods:
I would suggest Titanium Backup, you can uninstall and backup the apps while using you phone.
Or you can use the Androidiani OpenRecovery downside is that you can receive calls, texts and whatnot.
I would not recommend root-explorer, file expert and other root file explores.
Ok let's start:
red: do not remove
orange: possible to remove, but...
green: remove if you want to
blue: need help / confirmation
These are the the apps included in cm7 rc13:

CMScreenshot.apk - screenshot app, i use it but think you can remove it safely.
can be removed if you don't want that functionality.

actually you can use both at the same time with added effect.
DeskClock.apk - Alarm clock, i use AlarmClock+
also used when docking milestone - it the big "DeskClock" showed. should be green - you know what you'll lose.
Superuser.apk - i would do that though
imo this should be red or orange.
Torch.apk - Flashlight who would want to remove it
this should be green this shouldn't be list about "how usefull thing you are going to remove" but instead "you can delete this, system will work but you will lose ability to use camera's flash as torchlight"
GenieWidget.apk - news and weather app
also weather for the DeskClock.apk

I don't see this one in the "System Apps" in the OR, maybe it I've deleted it or it wasn't there from the start.

NetworkLocation.apk - Provides network (cell) location
imo orange
OneTimeInitializer.apk - remove only after first setup
SetupWizard.apk - remove only after first setup
and If I would remove that before flashing update? what will happen?
Also I like to remove all ringtones from ROM.
Source: many days of looking at boot loop.
Just from the name of it, AccountAndSyncSettings.apk seems to be your syncing for your accounts. Removing that would not be very good if you still want to receive emails, etc.

will look to that, as far as i know it's not worth the effort because you can save only a few mb

yes, but you still can use your phone for calls, sms, internet and if you use a email client from the market you still can receive emails. there are even apps that sync contacts on their own.
of course removing this would only be interesting for people that use such apps and have a google paranoia

saving 10-15MB just byu deleting one folder? I don't think it is not worth the effort but okay, I just do it

[Q] What apps/services can be disabled (with descriptions)?

What services and apps can be disabled. But please with a description what people are disabling, so they can decided if they need it or not.
So far i disabled:
Anonymous Usage Stats (self explanatory, not on cost of my battery and data plan)
Auto upload photo (no idea what it is, but if i want to upload a photo i do it myself)
Screen Mirror (brings your screen on a TV, dont have a compatible one, don't need it)
extension for youtube, wikipedia (don't know who is extended here, but if i need those i use my web browser)
extension for google lyrics search (don't care for that)
Exchange Services (suppose it has to do with Microsoft Exchange, which i don't use..)
Face Unlock (very useful feature, people just need a photo of you to unlock your phone, disabled)
Facebook (i'll do my little facebooking with the browser, thanks)
Movies / Devices (got an alternate video player anyway)
gmail (normal mail client is enough for me)
google partner setup (i'm not going to be a google partner)
Google Play Books, Movies, Music (not going to use those)
Google+ (don't need it)
Japanese keyboard layout and skins (not my language so i don't need it, skins won't work for the non japanese keyboard)
MirrorLink Service (Connects your phone to a car, don't need that)
Music unlimited (no idea, doesn't sound important)
News & weather (got my own apps for that)
location based wi-fi (i use wifi rarely and am able to manage that myself, don't allow my phone to locate me all the time anyway)
photo analyzer service (my photos don't need analyzing)
picasa uploader (dont use that service)
Pico TTS (i use only google TTS)
PlayMemories Online (not needed)
SensMe slidshow (sorry its a phone, not a digital photo frame)
Smar Connect (starts stuff if you connect stuff automaticly, doesn't fit my using habits)
Sony car (dont need that)
Sony select (no idea)
Support (thats what forums are for )
Talk (google IM service, don't need it)
Talkback (talks to you about what going on with your phone while using it, my eyes are still fine, so i don't need this practical feature)
TV-App Starter (no TV here that supports it anyway)
Video Studio (sorry, editing videos on a smartphone? no)
visualization (doesn't sound very useful)
weather widget (got a different one)
Xperia Appshare, Calendar sync, FB setup, Friendsmusic, Music Likes, Proxy, Share, Social Engine +photos +sharing, twitter (since i don't use Twitter, Facebook and whatever as native up i don't need any Xperia apps that can work with it)
whatsapp (dont like always on apps, just wastes my battery)
McAfee (i don't think Android need an antivirus program)
com.sonyericson.unplugchargerreminder (removes the annoying message after you removed your charger from the phone)
Click to collapse

Disable most in the Settings > Apps section. Tedious, but worth it.
For apps that can't be disabled this way, you'll need root and Titanium Backup to freeze them. Always freeze, never uninstall until your ROM is stable after a few reboots.
You can disable all themes and wallpaper picker

Master Debloat List

This list will give you two gigs to play with instead of the stock 200mb (or was it 400mb?). If you are feeling skippy, get a high speed micro-sd card and your apps there. Link2SD also has a wonderful option to swap different programs (read: updates) from the data to system partition.

Thanks for this list!
Odd, removed almost everything from the safe to remove list, and only gave me a little over 200 MB free.... did i miss something?
Unlike Windows which uses a file manager as a shell, Android uses a hardware, driver and software environment. You will need to use a few tools (ah development!) to access most areas of Android. Link2SD will work for our purposes. Using the reboot method here will leave you some files on both your system and data partitions. Between the two is about 2 gigs, but it is more like 1.7gigs. Move everything to your system partition. The proper way to do this, is to use the system partition for critical or system files - I would use this for anything important too. You will need to integrate files updated via the Google Play Store into your system partition - someone needs to build an app that does this automatically or a cleaner or something. Use your data partition for temporary storage or for games. Not all apps can be transferred to the ad card, keep this in mind when going on a download binge getting all of your favorite apps under one roof. It will be a pain in the neck transferring files between partitions. Large apps will prove to be a problem if their data is cover the space requirements on your phone are insufficient. I think there is an app to transfer data from apps to the we care or mount something like the Bob folder there, I am unfamiliar with it, but I believe it is similar to a Linux function where mounted folders can have shared links.
I am under the impression HTC made this phone as a disposable unit or for those that want to get under the hood. E.G. there are over 2gigs of under-the-hood system files taking up space. The most obvious being sound files which can't be accessed via normal file manager as audio files. Deleting theme would consolidate space etc. I have yet to entertain the idea and have yet to reboot this far. It is promising as such rooms like cyanogen are 200-500mb and stock is like 800mb sand stock unloaded iirc is 1.4gb.
During my initial tests between freezing apps to see if it affected system stability or not, I had one fly under the radar - TetherGuard is used to activate tether. I've updated the list to reflect this, but my current build doesn't have it - I'm looking into restoring it without having to resort to a backup.
Please keep this in mind when debugging your phone; you should always have a master backup and a backup of your latest build on your SD-Card or computer. Incremental builds are a must.
In other news, I've found a way to remove the ringtones to further debloat your phone - there is an app called "Ringtone Remover" at the Google Play store. It will restore about 25mbs of free space. That is an app right there folks!

if your saying what I think you are, Titanuim Backup does this. "Integrate Updates into Rom" or something.... Ive heard that it can break things in the stock (and stock based) roms though. Hope this helps
I've gone in and booted to a write enabled kernel then went on and deleted bloatware previously undeleteable and moved my main programs to the system partition. From there, id ankles to recover able 400 MB in the data partition with still having about 600 MB in my system partition and I can report no issues whatsoever. I removed almost everything in the list that's safe except for a couple things I want to keep and installed and updated things previously unable to like busybox. Rebooted and was back on the factory kernel and everything works perfectly. Made a system backup before ask this incase anything went wrong. Once everything was working, I made a backup of how things are after debloating and now I have the perfect system. Phone is running without issues. Maybe I'll make a detailed tutorial after I remember how I tried it first lol.

Did you lose your dialer along the way? or did I just hit it by accident? either way when I got done my dialer was gone (replaced with whatever was handy in the playstore so no biggie)
No. Didn't lose thatm good things about backing everything up is if you mess up, is all still good
One observation, if you remove the Qualcom iZat, you will have issues with location services. I would highly suggest not removing that.
Can anyone send me fusedlocation apk I uninstalled it by accident now my widget on my home screen doesn't work. Thanks

I had to unroot and factory reset my device thinking it would restore the download manager app but it did not. I really don't know what to do right now. Please I need your help.
Thanks in anticipation.

I have very limited knowledge here, I can't get much done without following a tutorial... That said, I would try finding the downloader APK and sideloading it. Let me know if you can't find the APK, and I'll see if I can rip mine for you.
Edit: Clarification... The apk. I will rip my apk for you. Nothing else of mine will be ripping.. Thank you.
I borked the fork like a dork
I accidentally deleted HTC Bluetooth Share instead of Bluetooth le profiles and now my Bluetooth doesn't work. Anybody got the apk for that?

I ripped my download manager apk for you. It's from the Desire 510 but it should work for you. This is from my Google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OWHYmRl_noARt1TRmCJpItJksDbGCYX1/view?usp=drivesdk

System apps to uninstall safely

After uninstalling these following programs, i noticed a boost both in battery, ram and performance. These apps were safely disabled using adb and they won't affect the functionality of the software (aka no random crashes or error messages):
Gmail
Gdrive
Chrome (i recommend using Brave)
Duo
Google calendar and contacts sync (useless to me. Can be disabled with adb safely but i prefer by system settings)
Google movies
Google music
Google partner setup
Google one time
Google TTS
Facebook-related apps (there are 3 system apps that are for facebook)
Huawei share (watch out which one you uninstall. Since i don't have any other huawei products or a wireless printer, i uninstalled it)
Digital balance
Hivoice
Hisearch
Appgallery
Huawei wallet
Talkback (known as android accesibility suite)
Google backup transport(disable it via settings, people say that this service is used by the other google apps so in case it is required, you can re-enable it).
Android setup (disable it via settings. It doesn't auto start at boot and if you uninstall it via adb you will get errors)
<The list will be updated as soon as i find more apps that can be safely disabled>
I use Brave browser, but scrolling is quite choppy with it...
Let me recommend - Monument Browser - (not as good as Brave - still feels not mature enough) but scrolling is very very smooth.
