Hi all, my moto x 2014 (Pure edition) started bootlooping this morning. I am 100% stock, its never been rooted, and the bootloader is LOCKED. I can access recovery but upon trying to factory reset or wipe cache, it just reboots. Any help would be much appreciated, and any other info you need i can provide. Thanks XDA!
You could try clearing your cache. Won't hurt anything. If that doesn't work, just reflash the stock firmware without formatting data.
There is a link in the FAQ detailing how to flash stock firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/help/wip-frequently-questions-moto-x-2014-t2876769

Hey guys,
Managed to root the android lollipop for Moto g second gen. My model is the XT1068 and I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/xt1068-lollipop-dual-sim-t2938439 method.
So all you will need is the boot.img from the XT1064 and you can download it here:
http://downloads.codefi.re/savoca/root/titan/xt1064_lollipop_boot.img
Also downloade superSU:
http://download.chainfire.eu/593/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.19.zip?retrieve_file=1
Place the superSu.zip in your sdcard and reboot your phone in fastboot mode.
Run on cmd : fastboot flash boot xt1064_lollipop_boot.img.
WARNING:There is a problem still with this, after installing the new boot.img, it will take a while to start but works fine after.
use it at your own risk
bootloop!
I have followed all thing accordingly, still i am stuck at the bootloader warning.
Try to wipe cache and dalvik and try again. It may take a few minutes and loops to start but it will start. Also you might want to check the XT1069 backup thread for xt1068. Still with bootloop but works way smoother than with the xt1064 rom.

hey guys, here's my story
i have a moto x from movistar argentina, my last official firmware was 4.4.4 with bootloader 30.B7, i was running cm12 latest nightly before 12.1, i decided to flash 12.1 to get rid of the annoying cell standby draining bug, dirty flashed it and gapps, all was fine. decided to try xposed because i need a patch to disable the proximity sensor since mine is not working.
here's where problems started. i got bootloops all over the place, decided to restore my nandroid backup i made 10 minutes ago. the problem is everytime TWRP tried to format or write data to /data/, the phone just restarted. well, i decided not to panic and download an official firmware package, 4.4.4 argentina unbranded to be more specific (couldn't find any movistar rom)
tried with rsd lite, it hangs while writing system, tried manual flash with mfastboot, it also hangs while flashing the last chunk of system. of course the phone doesn't boot.
i'm getting kinda desperate atm, can someone throw me a life saver here?
tried to format system with both fastboot and mfastboot and both give errors, when trying to ERASE system it just shows bootloader permission denied
Got it to work again
if anyone is facing the same problems i am facing right now, just flash stock recovery and do a factory reset there, then manually flash custom recovery and restore nandroid backup.
I received the 5.1 OTA on my XT1095 yesterday. I unrooted (always had stock recovery), accepted the OTA, and everything was fine. Tried to re-install root, and nothing would load upon boot-up - every app would appear as not responding. I downloaded the 5.0 factory image via the Motorola website and flashed, but could not flash gpt.bin or motoboot.img (downgrade failed). Flashed everything else, got the bootloader unlocked warning and the stock Motorola boot logo...then nothing. Black screen. I can reboot into bootloader, but not recovery or anything else. I used the fastboot.exe included in the Motorola factory image file.
Am I doomed here? I can't think of anything else to try. Will I have to wait until Motorola makes the 5.1 factory image available for the XT1095?
Any thoughts you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
Did you wipe data from fastboot?
Thought I did...tried it again (userdata and cache) and it worked like a charm! Thanks!
Glad to hear it's working!
Hello all,
I've got an issue with Moto G 2014 titan - whenever I try to wipe data or made factory reset following error comes up (pls also see att):
E:
blkdiscard on partition /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata failedData wipe failed
What I've already tried to do:
- flash new recovery TWRP/CWM using ADB - the recovery does not show up only stock one - tired many versions of titan one with no luck at all
- flash new stock rom from 4.4.4. up to 6.0 - whenever tried to flash kitkat or lollipop error with 'validated' version comes up
Now the main issue is I cannot flash any recovery and even though cannot flash any ROM because after flash boot animation shows up and then black screen.
Also a guy who gave me this phone had already unlocked bootloader.
Do not know really what to do next with this...
Have you guys ever encountered similar issue? I've searched this forum fro over 4hours now and tried many many solutions with no luck at all...
Please HELP !
