Has anyone on the KF2 rooted had their statusbar flicker or would know the cause of or solution to the issue?
It just turns off then on, seemingly random. My turning on I mean it appears, the icons adjust to match, then it disappears about one second later, and when I try to swipe down on it, I can't get anything to happen.
Installed new status bars (non root ones) and it replaced the bar that flashes...but the same issue.
This happened after a boot from using KindleFree. I used most of the tools on it, if you want to know I can list them. The only thing that I can POSSIBLY imagine went wrong would be when I tried to see how it would handle the setting a laucnher. So I got nova, rebooted, didn't like nova, set apex as default by pressing home, and that was that. I can't find nova in my ROM toolbox list of apps so I'm not sure how KindleFree installed it, and I'm not sure if that even caused the issue.
Any ideas?
I planned to just reset, re-root and start from clean when I get home but I'm at work for the next 7 hours and I'd like my statusbar back haha.
Well, some update I suppose.
TabletBar Hider does something. When I open the app and press restore, it makes the statusbar flash and appear for a bit. It's the ONLY thing that seems to have a direct effect on when it seems to appear. I tried using apps that make the notification area appear, and those did not work.
My best guess is something is forcing it to close....but I'm not sure what, or why.
Suggestions?
Well.....I've fixed it.
I wanted the Chameleon launcher so I changed my build.prop so the market would think I have a Nexus 7. No, this did not work for the market (I think I need to clear the cache) but, my status bar works! No idea what happened folks but.....there you go?
This thread can be locked or removed or whatnot. Since I really have no useful insight as to what broke or fixed it.
Signs point to installing Nova with KindleFree broke it, and that changing my build prop from a blaze tablet to a nexus 7, fixed it.
It makes no sense to me either, but that's what happened! Oh well, at least it works now. Happy modding and New Years all!

Have you installed Gmail by any chance?
I don't have the kindle fire 2, I have the hd, but for me gmail is the usual culprit for that like mentioned earlier. Other apps have caused it though. Usually going through and opening all the apps you used before it happens will clear that up. I do believe it's some sort of issue with notifications.

How did I not find that thread? Thanks! It could have been. From my thread, you can see my fix didn't seem related to me, BUT, yes, I did install gmail using KindleFree so that may have spawned some issues. However, I have used gmail since, and no issues. I'm not really sure what changing the build.prop does beyond supposedly trick the market, which didn't work for me. Thank you though! Hopefully we get to the root of what exactly this is! Two issues so far, both fixed in different ways. If it happens again I will try your fix and if that works then it's for certain gmail and hopefully we can help future issue finders!
I'm rather curious of getting market to believe the kindle is another device... it would be nice to not sideload so many apps
If you have success with this please post back with your build prop edits

Hello everyone.
I have a question, I tried JellyAOSP, Omar ROM, (i dont Like Pi-called) but the two ROMS, a period of use, such as 1 month. I restarts (too many).
Things I always use are:
Xposed Framework:
Modules:
xHoloFloating
xTheme Beta
Youtube Adaway
XuiMod
I also take care aplicaiones as:
Build.prop Editor - to change the DPI 240-220 (I like that density) is the only thing to occupy this app.
A more defined example is:
When installing a module Xposed Framework always asks you to reboot the device, I do and always have to give the phone 3 or 4 reboots and then works normally. So what happens every time I turn on / reboot.
That may be. I thought back to the Stock ROM or perhaps follow JellyAOSP.
Also I have too many FC on almost every apps I use:
whatsapp
Youtube
contacts
SMS
phone
I've even had FC Nova interface and normal phone UI.
PD. Thx to Google Translate
PD2. Now im use JellyAOSP 1.4
The only way to know why the phone reboots or apps close it to use logcat to see what's going on. Without that I dunno what the problem might be.

Update: I update to JellyAOSP 1.5 i only install xTheme engine, and i apply a theme and reboot the phone and... Bootloop come again, xTheme probably cause the error.

I'm still on my first version of the software (I'm still thinking about rooting), but I've otherwise had no issues doing things like using Substratum or installing apks. Now, got some reason, even though the install screen hasn't changed, and I can select everything else on it, I can't select install. For ANY installation. Substratum, an AOD overlay apk, nothing. It's like my phone has just decided to ignore the install button. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a Samsung theme issue, maybe?

Nevermind. I literally figured it out after posting this and tearing my hair out. Twilight was the app on top that was blocking the button. (Why it only blocked install, I don't even know.)
Screen ocerlays block install buttons and some switches in settings, also interfere with some apps kaspersky av will not work with screen overlays
Hi,
I had this issue in KitKat before (can't tap "Grant" in SuperSU popup when Root access is requested) and if memory serves, it was due to one or more apps creating a "screen overlay". I know it's caused by an app, but I can't figure out which one. Besides this, fixing it through changing an app won't stop it from happening again and again. It could even be caused by more than one app now.
I fixed it once a long time ago, but can't remember how. I thought it was by using an Xposed Mod, but neither of the ones that talk about "Overlay" fix it.
Does anyone remember how two fix it? Two days of searching XDA and Google have not produced the desired result.
Thank You
So I was messing around with this app called "Island", and during setup I granted root permissions using magisk. It redirected me to the work profile page where I received a pop-up telling me that the work profile feature was disabled because of having rooted the phone. Except that wasn't entirely true, since now I have the remnants of that showing up in various places, the most prominent one being my launcher. How can I fix this? Preferably without having to format anything.

Does work profile show up in your settings per the attached screenshot?
What exactly are the remnants that you're seeing?
Interestingly I've been using island with no issues since I first got the phone and rooted.
