So I been trying to flash the the H81120i sdk from lgup on my lg g4 with h81120q, it fails and a window quoting "antiroll back". I wiped everything of the phone I had it on "oem unlock" and "usb debugging" the whole time, any tips on how to get through this? I am just trying to install CM 13.

if you are in 20Q just use the same procedure that are in the 20i thread.... and i would suggest to download KDZ 20R thats the latest. 20i MM and 10n LP are antirollback V2...... so after 20i .. theres 20o-20p-20q-and 20r all this are antirollback V3.. means you can flash either of this.. but dont go lower then V3 and V2 is 20i... just use 20q or download 20R and go to 20i thread and follow same procedure.. but on 20-q or R... go where it says this
Bootloader OEM Unlock + Root:
Starting with the Android 6.0 20i bootloader it has to be unlocked, sorta like a Nexus, with fastboot. Previously only 'OEM Unlock' had to be toggled in Android Developer settings for TWRP or custom boot images to work.
1. Flash stock 20i using zip or KDZ. Boot into Android after upgrade to 20i.
2. Download the twrp-2.8.7.1-h811.img file HERE. This file needs to be on your computer and external sdcard*.
3. Download the latest SuperSu zip (2.67+) from HERE [Thanks to Chainfire] and stick on external sdcard*.
4. Confirm "OEM Unlock" is set to enabled in the hidden Developer Settings.
5. Enable "USB Debugging" in Developer Settings, connect USB cable PC <-> Phone... and send the following 3 commands in command prompt/terminal:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader (phone reboots to bootloader)
fastboot oem unlock (this wipes ALL data!!)
fastboot boot twrp-2.8.7.1-h811.img (phone boots TWRP)
6. For perm TWRP: In TWRP hit Install > Images... (bottom right corner) > select TWRP.img on ext sdcard > select "recovery" > swipe.
7. If you want root: Hit the Home button > Install > select SuperSU zip on external sdcard > swipe.
8. All done. Reboot into Android. (if TWRP asks if you want to install SU, HIT NO!!!)

But do I have to install any software from V3 or just follow the steps?

The diff between rooting 5.1 and 6.0 is the Super su version. Follow all the steps but whenyou get to flashing super su, flash the latest version 2.78 via custom recovery. That's all

Okay, I'm going to assume you know how to or have done unlocked your bootloader from the htcdev site and flashed twrp recovery. To root, you have to flash SuperSU zip file through twrp. Make sure to download from http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703 click on the download button under TWRP / FlashFire installable ZIP (also make sure to download the zip file into the root folder of your sd card and not into a sub folder). After you've done that, boot your phone into recovery mode, click on install, locate the zip file and click it, swipe to flash. After the flashing is done, reboot your phone and it is rooted. I'm assuming you are doing this for HTC desire 626s. Good luck

I can't unlock the boot loader
This is the process for unlocking bootloader and it's straightforward. However, if you find it complex, I suggest you check YouTube to search for videos on 'how to unlock HTC bootloader from htcdev'
Unlock bootloader
- Enable "Unknown Sources" on your phone:
- Settings->Security: Check "Unknown Sources" checkbox
- Enable "Developer Mode" and enable "USB Debugging" and "OEM Unlocking" settings
- Settings->About->Software Information->More: Tap on "Build Number" until it tells you that Developer Mode is enabled.
- Settings->Developer Options: Enable "OEM Unlocking" and "USB Debugging" options.
- Actually unlock the bootloader by going to the HTCdev "Unlock Bootloader" website (www.htcdev.com/bootloader) and following the directions to unlock your bootloader. You will need to create an account on this website before being able to unlock the bootloader. I'm not going to provide step-by-step instructions for the bootloader unlock procedure since the HTCdev website already provides a step-by-step procedure. However, here are a few key notes regarding this procedure:
- The bootloader unlock procedure will reset your phone back to factory defaults. Make sure to backup anything that you need on the phone before unlocking the bootloader. You can optionally install the "HTC Sync Manager" (link provided on HTCdev website) to backup your phone before starting the process.
- In the "Select your device" box on the first screen of the bootloader unlock procedure, select "HTC Desire *" as the device type.
- If you are running the latest firmware on your phone, you do not need to worry about the phone update page when you first start the unlock process - just scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the "Proceed to Step 1" button to start the procedure.
- You will need to install Java if you don't already have it installed - there is a link to download Java right on the same page as the bootloader unlock procedure.
- You will need to download and install the fastboot binaries provided in step 4 of the bootloader unlock procedure. Unzip the fastboot.exe file included in the zip to a directory that you will use to root your HTC Desire 626s (I recommend creating a new directory for this - something like "C:\HTC626s") - later, you will also put the other files you need (recovery image file and SuperSU binary .zip file) into this same directory so that everything is in one place.

Kingroot
So, ive found that kingroot will root this device, but this device restricts root access.. if i can find a way to bypass the root restrictions, then i will reply here, once more, at a later time, with my success letter, and steps on how to root, successfully.. Anyways, I hope you resolve your issue, soon..

Is there any way to unlock bootloader of H811 or install MarshMallow (Stock)

I would like to know if there is ANY way to unlock bootloader of G4 H811 which is currently on version 10N? I have gone through several threads in this forum but nothing worked. "adb reboot bootloader" only restarts the device. P.S. the phone is rooted already, but still It's unable to update to marshmallow.
Here is what I have tried to update to marshmallow:
1. LG Bridge: It downloads update "H81520g_00_0720.kdz" which i think is wrong version and fails to update.
2. LG Up tool: I tried "H81120o_00_0613.kdz" but my PC won't recognize the devices after rebooting to fastboot mode. Obviously I have the drivers installed.
3. TWRP Installation: I tried installing TWRP through flashify, but it also failed due to locked bootloader.

no you must be on MM. and theres anirollback.. wich means you can not downgrade
so.. (10n and 20i are V2) and (20-o-p-q and r are V3) so you can unlock bootloader on 20i.. and you can downgrade to lollipop.. but if you dont care about lollipop then upgrade to lastest 20r and unclok bootloader and install twrp.. but you cannot go back to any version below 20o.
if you are in 20i- or the others 20-o-p-q-r you can follow this guide.
if you try with 20o-or any other say 20r .. you follow same procedure only you dont use 20i. for all unlock is same procedure. but using either 20i... or 20o-p-q-r.
steps oem unlock .. also you need LG drivers and minimal adb fastboot .. if you dont have adb.

Thank you for the details Raptor Please correct me if I'm wrong, you mean to say I can upgrade it to a version from 20p to 20r but I won't be able to downgrade back to lollipop right? That's okay, I just need MM anyhow. I found the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...-lg-g4-h811-20r-stock-rooted-rom-kdz-t3545130 that contains 20r images, but again how am i supposed to install them if my phone is not detected in fastboot mode?
Yes, I have the latest android SDK, and drivers, but still LG UP won't detect it once it gets into fastboot mode. I have checked the Device Manager in PC, and there are no any unknown devices.

yes if you want to unlock it yet also want to go back to lollipop use 20i thats V2 and so is 10n. once you flash either 20o-p-q-r then you in V3.
step 1.. download the KDZ file in that link..
step2. download LGUP.
step3. unzipped file the KDZ
step4. turn off phone... then press volumen up and insert usb cable.. must be usb por 2.0 and no windows 10....if am correct... then browse for file in LGUP once you select file.. exit LGUP... then open it again.. now tick refurbished and start..
this will update fresh clean installation of 20r.
then follow the procedure i the link i posted it works for 20i-20o-20p-20q or 20r.. just dont flash 20i. its just a guide skip when it says to flash 20i that part you already done it with 20r.
follow steps and youll have unlocked bootloader install twrp. and have fun.

How to relock bootloader.

Download the latest FW files from from http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5/oneplus_5_oxygenos_4.5.8/
Install TWRP and Magisk if you don't have them yet.
Magisk should allow you to slide "OEM unlocking" to "enabled" in developer settings (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Reboot to fastboot
Flash stock recovery via fastboot.
Run locking via fastboot flashing lock command
Allow it to reboot and upon start up it will say device corrupted (THIS IS NORMAL)
Boot to recovery via the warning start screen.
Once in recovery, sideload latest FW.
Profit.

I'm coming from Motorola/Lenovo and I cannot imagine that it is so simple to unlock and relock the bootloader. When you unlock the bootloader on Moto phones you void your warranty. I am so scared from my experience with Motorola that I haven't tried it yet for my OP5.

I can relate to that. I have personally owned two Moto E devices along with the OnePlus One and OnePlus 5, and I can assure that it's way too easy with the latter. I have had really bad experience with Moto, be it updates, unlocking, or downgrading. OnePlus is like a second-Nexus to me, when it comes to such stuff. :good:

Thanks for sharing mate.
I`ve alredy rooted with SuperSu and TWRP installed. How do I flash Magisk over SuperSu ?
And I`ve tried to flash latest FW (OOS 4.5.10 Full Zip) with TWRP, but whenever I try to reboot it always says " No OS Installed .......".
I`ve tried several times, but every time it remains the same.
I totally new to OP devices. It would be very helpful, if you share how to revert back to stock OOS and lock the bootloader.

You should make sure you get a pristine backup at hand, or a RUU appropriate to your device. Otherwise you'll never be able toreturn to a full stock system.
On the U11 it is possible to boot TWRP from fastboot, without flashing it and thus without touching stock recovery. That way I've been able to flash Magisk what's coming with MagiskSU and the possibility to use some Modules. And all without altering the system or replacing stock recovery in the first place.

The guys method of using recovery to backup recovery will only work on Philz… Not twrp as it does not always backup stock recovery properly. The proper way to backup stock recovery is..
1. Root your phone, which can be done by towel root or by just booting a recovery like he said,
fastboot boot twrporwhatever.img, then flash supersu
2. Boot phone that has stock recovery
3. adb shell
4. su "watch your phone to grant root adb access if you haven't ever done it"
5. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p43 of=/sdcard/recovery.img
6. This will put flashable recovery.img on your internal sd card. Copy this and save it for later
7. "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" will get you back to stock recovery, "fastboot flash recovery twrporwhatever.img" to flash custom recovery.

If possible and a TWRP recovery is available one should boot to bootloader and try if the command fastboot boot name_of_twrp.img works. Make sure to NOT grant r/w at first boot and leave it ro. Now you can perform a backup of stock recovery, boot and system image (not system partition!) to obtain a pristine backup.
All else will alter system partitions md5 and the backup won't be pristine any longer. Due to block based OTA policy introduced by Google you won't be able to OTA without a pristine system image.

I have two questions.
1. If I fastboot to TWPR will it stay (flash for good) or after disconnecting my phone it will be gone ?
2. Can I flash Magisk instead of SuperSU ?
Code:
fastboot oem get_identifier_token

But in download mode there is no fastboot active ?! Until you installed the correct drivers
no "fastboot" (like a "one s", etc) on this phone. no fastboot usb
"fastboot" command work in "bootloader menu" and "download mode"
fastboot oem only in download mode
Hello. Please explain what I am doing wrong. I will download what is in points. I download this adb something, but it does not work. Nothing starts. Does not communicate with the phone. OCB. Could anyone write this guide so that he could understand and act?

The classic way to install TWRP、Magisk and more

Installing magisk_patched is unnecessary.
download ADB here
download TWRP here
download magisk here
first ,we must unlock bootloader.
Settings->About phone->tap at Build number 7 times. Now,we unlocked the "Developer options". open it and turn the OEM unlocking on.
Reboot to bootloader&Run this command on your computer with ADB:
fastboot oem unlock
Use Volume key to select&Power key to enter.
(Ensure you have fully backed up all your files first because the device will be wiped back to default factory state but with an unlocked bootloader)
reboot to bootloder&connect us phone to computer.
Run this command on your computer with ADB:
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-2-guacamole.img
then, the phone will reboot to TWRP,but this not end for install, it will be broke after you reboot again, we must install the twrp-installer-3.3.1-2-guacamole.zip In this TWRP.
after this step we got the TWRP installed.
then use TWRP to install the last release magisk.
now we got magisk installed & SafetyNet-pass.
you can install xposed or not .
thanks all&enjoy.
This guide completely misses unlocking the bootloader, changing the option in developer settings to OEM unlock is NOT unlocking the bootloader. Please amend your guide to show the missing steps:
Running the following in the bootloader is how to correctly unlock the bootloader :
fastboot devices
Make sure your device is reported correctly
fastboot oem unlock
(Ensure you have fully backed up all your files first because the device will be wiped back to default factory state but with an unlocked bootloader)

reedit now,thx
May want to fix Ture to True and after flashing the TWRP-installer reboot back to TWRP to make sure it sticks(Recovery Installed) before you flash Magisk zip.
Don't forget to flash to both slots to get everything to stick.
Its pretty hard to fail safetynet. I've flashed many different things on this phone and never failed it.
JeSUS! FINALLY! After trying out that other method of rooting, installing twrp and magisk (by using patched images) THIS worked. I updated to 9.5.6 (back to stock, but still bootloader unlocked) and then followed this guide to rooting this phone. Finally! Whew! Wish I had done this from the start. I'm able to go get some sleep now! Thanks OP!
So many great minds here! Best community for a specified device that ive ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Can't wait to try this when my unlock token comes in ?

I am waiting for the gsi of resurrection remix, curing twrp now is unnecessary
just making sure:
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot oem unlock (have it checked in dev options first)
reboot into bootloader after phone setup
fastboot boot twrp ................img
install twrp..............zip
install magisk
reboot?

fixed my post so this method i dont have to worry about slots a and b right? Then what about when an update comes. Do i flash the full update or can i do an OTA? If i flash a full .zip will i loose my data? I'm coming from a pixel 2 xl.
Can someone please clarify. If I do this on slot A, how do I change over to Slot B to do it?
