Hi,
I really love the specs and looks of the Z2 Pro, but I don't really want a phone with a Chinese ROM. Before buying I watched a hands-on review on Youtube, and I saw some Chine apps, other (normal) apps with Chinese language, no Play Store pre-installed and most of all: no material design and strange icons for normal apps.
I'm quite new to this, so before I want to know all of it, lets just start with: Is it a good idea to buy the phone and put Android N (without skin) on the phone quite easy for a beginner?
Thanks,
Ion Ita

Just recieved the note this morning and although iam not new to android or thos forum, its quite different to my old HTC desire. so i have a few questions!
I cant stand the stock launcher that comes with samsung so i have changed it to the go launcher so is their anyone out their better, or do you need to root to do that?
Also wanted to know if their are any good things to download to customise my phone, i have been using my blackberry for awhile so iam pretty unsure lol.
i might decide to root but is it worth it just yet?
cheers folks. hope someone can give me some pointers, the phone is huge, but i love the screen. i was abit paranoid as i always looked at samsung as kinda boring, im just glad the phone can be customised.
cheers.
New to android?
I always used launcher pro on my gingerbread based roms.

My note is coming today, so I haven't tried it with the larger screen.
Running an ICS rom I like the stock trebuchet launcher just fine.
hey
Naw im not new to android but its been a while since i have used it as a phone as i dont use my htc desire anymore. i have using the annoying blackberry.
launcher pro is fast and works well with some good live wallpapers.
what is ICS rom? also was your phone rooted
A lot of launchers have some degree of lag when used on the Note. Go Launcher and ADW Launcher were a little choppy on my Note. I've used LauncherPro Plus for a long time on my Galaxy S and LG Optimus 3D but I think it's getting a bit outdated since it hasn't been updated in a long time.
I'm using Nemus Launcher at the moment and it runs very smooth. It's not the most customizable launcher out there but all my basic needs are there, custom grid size, resizable widgets, maps etc. and it looks pretty good as well.
Thanx for the tip...just tried the one you mentioned and it works very fast on the note! and i noticed you can actually move the icons like the phone symbol and so forth....even better. I just hate the stock rom of samsung, just ugli icons, i always like to dress it up. Now to download phone icon and the other ones, do i have to download these separetly?

Thanks for sharing that, Nemus Launcher is indeed very good. Have tried Go and AWD, but find the simple yet polished look of Nemus better.
Make your launcher a dialer!
Google Play app link: http://goo.gl/7Lwds
I recently released a launcher app made specifically for people who want a simplified smartphone experience (kinda like BIG Launcher, except even easier to use). It is a phone dialer that serves as the user's home screen.
This is the first and only app on Google Play to do this, that I know of, at least.
Perfect for setting up Mom's or Grandma's new smartphone!
I am offering the app at 50% off ($2.00) for a first Play Store release sale (first week only).
Enjoy!
thanks bro .. :good:
Awesome, mother in law just got upgraded to an Android handset. Will give this a try. Thanks.
Hi i'm new and i have a question.
Everybody is talking about how to get the ios7 look on android and I came with an idea. Have you seen the new goophone (iphone copy runing android), how did they get that look? Maybe it is possible to instal the rom or the laucher they used to create the goophone in another android device?
i dont know much about that, but ive been looking for the rom they use or the launcher they use to install it on my S3 but there is nothing there.
Here are some pictures of the goophone i5s and i5c running android but looking like ios7. it would be great to use the same on any android.
What is that all about ios7? It is looking ****in ugly, if u want ios7, buy an iPhone!
I used an jailbroken iPhone before switching to S3/ Android, the only cool thing about iOS is the Cydia Store.
Ich wars!
It's going to look like self-promotion; but since you asked -
Take a look here - http://iwiz-vicky.blogspot.com/2013/06/andios7-complete-ios7-theme-for-android.html
Hey all,
So, i think u know all, that the sony stock launcher, is great, buuut kinda slow, even with custom rom, i think Nova is more responsive.
But i got a bit tired by this 'classic' (but really good quality) launcher.
I dont want to install launchers like 3D launcher (which is cool, but drain battery like hell).
What do u use for launcher? something a bit new
And btw, is it possible to install a launcher not sony related? (other brand, like motorolla i mean, if i found .apk on xda website)
Hello guys,
I am new to XDA and do not know if I'm posting in the right place, if not, tell me where to publish.
The question is this, bought a Goophone i6 Plus (not yet arrived) and was trying to install Facebook apps, Whatsapp, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram .. the most popular, but would like to have them in the iOS version, ie, with the same iOS interface. Is there anyone who did some modified version of these applications? Help me please, I'd love to leave my new device identical to the iPhone 6 Plus.
Obs. Who can mainly try Facebook and WhatsApp.
Thanks.
I think there is nobody who wants to change the nice material design of Whats App into the iOS desgin. When you like the design of iOS you would be better buying a iPhone.

I do not want to buy an iPhone, I want the style of WhatsApp and Facebook applications identical to the iPhone.
The Goophone already has bought the identical system to the iPhone, but the Store applications are different.
I'm from Brazil, an iPhone here is very expensive.

Yes I can understand that, but theming the Android apps into iOS desgin would be very, very much work. I think you have to live with the style of Android.
