Hello guys, so my question is: Does Z3 Compact have the double tap to lock option on Lollipop 23.4.A.1.264 firmware? was thinking of upgrading from Kitkat.
Edit: Also, my customization version is : 1288-4954
I have searched this and i can't seem to find my version. Is there any way to upgrade to lollipop with my version? (Maybe OTA will skip flashing to marshmallow? i don't know)

No,but you can make it with GravityBox,but it only works on the lockscreen so you are out of luck

Why don't you upgrade to MM? You don't need to follow the customization number strictly if you want to upgrade.
As for the double tap to lock, newer versions of Xperia Home have that option, as well as Nova Launcher, so you'll be covered anyway.

I would, but the sound output on my headphones is really low on Marshmallow, compared to my Kitkat, and i wanted to give Lollipop a try,as I haven't used it for a long long time and can't remember if Lollipop's output is equal to the Kitkat or the Marshmallow version.
Another bug on Marshmallow is that the last 1-2 seconds on every video i record are frozen(and yes,I have tried the amazing Cyberian mod, it didn't fix it)
Edit: so, does the Lollipop have double tap to lock?!

Do you mean sound quality, or volume? Sound quality is a bit worse on MM, you can hear slight crackling, but it's ok. And as for the videos freezing, that's weird, as I don't have that, maybe it was your setup, or the rom you used :/
Yes if you upgrade Xperia Home, I'm not sure in which version they included DT2L, but you can find in Cross forums easily latest version And if you don't like it, you can always install Nova Laucher which has a lot of options, that's what I'm using anyway

As for the sound, yes, quality is really bad on MM, but i also meant volume, especially when the tracks have frequent basslines...the bass on KK is crisp and loud! But is it the same on Lollipop?
As for the video,I used stock ROM and had the problem, then I installed Cyberian and I still had the problem(still not a big problem though...)

I'm sorry I can't comment on bass quality nor volume between those 2, since I'm on MM for 5-6 months, and I've been on KK more than a year ago... I guess you have to try on your own. Volume can be increased through mixer_paths.xml file, it's pretty easy and helps noticeably, and quality can be "fixed" with ARISE sound mod (major increase if you ask me). It's all down to your preferences and your will to live with those issues if fixes won't satisfy your requirements.

I never managed to understand how to tweak mixer_paths file as I never found the correct line to edit.
I've tried arise sound and my audio was horrible (distorted and impossible to listen to it. Maybe i did something wrong there but all I did was flashing a zip file as far as I remember)
Well. KK's sound is amazing, and it has the best autofocus on video recording compared to MM (+ cyberian! ). I'll stick with it for now and i will maybe give a try to Lollipop later on.

Hello everybody,
I updated my Xperia Z 3 days ago. Everything was perfect, until I plugged my KossPorta Pro headphones in and played some music (I am using PowerAmp player). I noticed sound is now more distorted, less enjoyable and less crispy. Last 4.1.2 update .307 had better sound. I am not sure about stock player cause I am using PowerAmp for Bass and Treble EQ and better customization, but anyway I never ran into problem with poor quality sound on my Xperia Z until 4.2.2 update. I tried everything (factory reset, wipe everything, other update versions) but still same. I am quiet dissapointed, good quality music is very important for me.
Somebody with same problem?
Any suggestion?
I don't have the same problem. Have you tried other head-ear phones?
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
I tried, but quality was same. :L Btw, I downgraded yesterday back to .307 and sound was great. I went again to 4.2 and but nothing was changed, poor quality again. I really like 4.2 update but sound is important for me
No audio libraries are changed due the update, you're imagining the changes
Sent from my Xperia Z
I carefully checked sound quality between 4.1 and 4.2 and there IS difference. Anyway, do you think there is problem with PowerAmp player?
I use stock Walkman and FM radio - no discernable difference between builds.
Maybe it's PowerAmp issue then. It's driving me crazy to be honest..

If you have enabled 'MusixFx' option in 'Tone/Vol' settings menu please disable that and check the sound effect again.....

I installed the CyanogenMod by Maclaw - " Jellybean 4.2.2 (CyanogenMod 10.1) 20130826 "
The audio has changed somewhat now for me. I've noticed that for some individuals the audio is so low it's hard to hear what they say if there is any ambient noise. However, this is only for some of them. For instance, when I talk to my brother in law I can hear without a problem.
Still, overall the audio has dropped, for some contacts quite significantly. And I do have maxed the audio, checked what settings I can think of too.
Is this fixable in some way? Can't find anyone with this problem that got it fixed
Sincerly,
/martin

Thanks you SO very much for that link! :good: It changed for those that was too low, but the ones that had a decent volume level was kept at that. So now I can once again hear what they say!
Well, this just sucks. It didn't change anything at all. It turned out to be only in-calls that had low volume, and it still does.
Also, noticed today that when I make a call and the audio is good, and then turn on loudspeaker it goes really low. Quite annoying..

i would recommend that next time you spend a bit more time reading up on posts before using a ROM
you should possibly considering moving to one of the stock based custom ROM's

stock base custom rom aren't anyting like cyanogenmod. they are buggy, each developer changes the look of it the way he likes it. i don't like most of them. i know what i say. tryed all of them. used Dmod V5 a while, and then it totally fu...ed it up in last version.
i got used to the problem. waiting for a fix from maclaw or oliver.
Hello,
I have installed CM11 on wifes mini 2, but the sound is very distorted at higher volumes. I read that I should install viper4android, which I have done, but I cant seem to stop the distortion. Also, when I am tweaking settings in Viper, I don't hear any difference. This is in both Apollo and Google Play Music.
Message alerts are also piercing and distorted.
Any help much appreciated
i have just spoken to someone in the cyanogenmod irc and it turns out that the amp in the phone gets put into bypass mode when flashing a non stock rom. They said that there was nothing they can do about it and that, as far as they are aware, there is no fix.
Surprised that no one else has noticed anything with flashed roms.

People did notice it, usually referred to as 'Sound Crackling'. They are right in saying there is no fix ATM. It is one of the things that keeps me away from CM11 and CM12, besides the camera.

Sorry, the camera??? My wife has said that she is pleased with the camera as it is now very responsive. To be honest the sound is not a major issue, it is only really noticable when the volume is cranked up high. A little lower and it is still better than my nexus 5.

Updated to Lollipop yesterday. Of course I'm using Sony's official update and not CM12. So yeah I didn't bother to.watch any videos or listen to music because I updated my phone very late at night. But today, I realised the Audio seems broken. How is it broken? Well, I play a YouTube video at max volume. Seems fine but a little soft for being at max. As soon as I drag it down just a bit, it's like impossible to hear anything. When it reaches half volume, it feels like the minumum volume and the minimum volume feels like it's muted. Anyone have the same problem?
Tl;dr: Can't hear jack **** on near max volume

Umm, nope, I can notice cause I consume a lot of media on my phone.
Weird thing is, bluetooth is weird. I use it in my car, and in KK, when I made a call, it'd change to the phone audio on its own. Now it stays on bluetooth audio until the call connects and then switches to the phone audio mode. This was the case even with AOSP 5.0 ROMs :/ it's weirdly inconvenient cause if I'm using the aux, I won't know if the call is about to be connected, cause I can't hear the ringtone on the call :|
I'm using locked rooted Kitkat,
updated via Sony PC Companion without wiping anything
after the updating to lollipop, it charges so slow, even when it's turned off
I used all the chargers here.
I'm planning to go back to kitkat without losing any app data.
I have no recovery and not rooted in lollipop. What can I do?
sound is definitely broken, because xloud is missing, clearaudio+ isnt working neither.
so after I updated to 5.1 the volume in speaker is so bad I have to mute my tv.. I don't recall if this happened after I encrypted or before bit to say the least it used to be very loud now it's so bad it's driving me crazy.. I am clueless of what to do... now this would be no problem if I had [email protected]!# ing root but I dont.. any solutions guys.. gals please help if you can... thanks!
I'm sorry, I can't offer a solution. I just wanted to say that I also noticed a drop in speaker volume going from KitKat to Lollipop. I find it strange that the software side of things could affect a hardware issue so much.
Volume has always been terrible with this phone and now on LP it's even worse. I think CF is working on adding Viper which if I understand correctly should increase the volume. So I guess we just have to wait.
that doesn't help me with a non rooted device
disable speaker effects on phone speaker on sound settings
did that didn't work
I've noticed the volume is lower as well. I'm hoping ComputerFreak bumps it up in his image again.
mine isn't low it's almost non existent.. I can hardly hear YouTube in a not so busy sushi restaurant. it's unbelievable!!! really.
i have a config file to boost the volume of the phone, but you have to be rooted, is also included on computerfreek mofo versions.
thanks but I updated to 5.1 even before the ota... bad move I guess.. unless you know of a way to root 5.1
just got a new update that fixed volume for the most part at least better than it was I think
