Curious to know, is it possible to force a stock rom to perform a system update over mobile data?
I converted my M7 to GPE stock, then tried to update the system software but it insists on doing so over wifi only and not mobile data. I have unlimited data (well more or less) and could easily download the system updates over mobile data, but it doesn't seem to allow me.
Can it be forced to use mobile data and not wifi?
Thanks,

One of the highlighted features in froyo announcement was data backup
http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.2-highlights.html
when you flash a new firmware or factory reset your phone the settings, applications and more important application data are being restored automatically.
SGS doesn't do this.
Did samsung disabled this feature? is there a way to enable it?
I know it's in the settings, but it doesn't seem to work.
When I had nexus one and when I tried CM7 on SGS it worked like a charm
(although many applications doesn't use this feature so application data doesn't restore).
it works... at least for me, but the truth is that there arent many applications using the backup agent. i have built one and the data backup is working flawlessly
after factory reset, does all of your previous applications are installed automaticlly?
does it restore the custom settings you had?
It does when I use CM7, but not when I use firmware based on samsung.
well thats it i can´t install apps or games from play store even can´t download music from google play, I get root trough rock my moto then some problems appear (bootloop) so i dont know how to solve it and i did a factory reset then everything was ok, but i never can download any apps or get some update for the apps that i already have any ideas? I have cleared the cache partition, cache of play store, cache of google services, uninstalled those apps, force detention etc but notingh works so I hope some one can help, I have the version of Mexico xt 1058 and the firmware is 139.12.35 android 4.2.2, thanks in advance
Did it throw any error? Are you on a wifi network?
Clear all data from the play store, not just cache. If that doesn't work, restore to stock. You can back up your apps with helium or titanium backup.

Already have erased the full data of any apps from google but nothing,I cant go back to stock because the last firmware for my bootloader is an older version so i cant go to do downgrade (i think) i tried that but that only stopped the bootloop, i have downloaded an external apk of root cheker and its says i have root access

Unable to update or download any apps from Google Play Store with mobile data. (With WiFi it's working fine.) I have working high speed mobile data. I have tried few solutions available. Like clear data and cache of play store and even hard reset!!! But problem is still there. I have checked mobile data is not restricted for any app. Google play store working fine with WiFi and mobile data working good with other apps, But not together. Called Google, called ISP, called gionee still no luck. Help plz
No problem if you have gionee m2 version 4.2.2 so you have to be upgraded to 4.4.2 (KitKat) if you are already on this version you have to root your device correctly and go to your ctr recovery and install SuperSU this will erase your problem.
Hi,
I have recently found out a program with a null name in my apps list and believe it was a malware or something, so I deleted it and since the phone is rooted, I believe it's infected. So I wanted to relock the bootloader (have no need for a rooted phone anymore) but can't download all the apps and games again due to my low bandwidht.
So I was wondering if I make a backup with TitaniumBackup of apps + data, will the malware be able to transfer to new non-rooted phone via a possible infected app? Or it's safe to do so?
Thanks.
This needs to go to Q&A section. If you want to clean your system. Factory reflash a firmware from Google. That will totally wipe your phone to out of the box state. Be sure to backup your internal storage t your PC first before reflash. Also, in this I'd recommend you restore you apps from play store

Was just wondering if anyone was having issues with SMS on T-Mobile after the latest ota. I did a clean flash of the latest stock build and I receive all texts twice and I can not send or receive MMS from numbers outside of TMobile. I thought maybe I can flash the radios from a previous update but I am unable to find flash able radios
Also the only modification I have made is root

Settings > backup and reset > reset network settings.
Check apn settings.
Clear cache from factory recovery and reboot.
Clear data and cache from messaging app in settings > apps.
Those are the only ideas I got.
