Yes! Oh man I hated that notification I had been trying to find out how to patch it out to no avail, you are a God among men!
Great this has helped to stop my MLB 9 Innings game from being stopped when i lock the phone for less than a minute. My question is: Is there anyway to make this in a "per app" basis, meaning that we can choose for which apps the flag can be disabled and not for all apps?
Holy ****. You're a hero. Installing now.
Now if someone could just kill ZTE's terrible lockscreen I would be so happy.
EDIT: Just to confirm this stops the rom from killing **** when you lock the screen?

If you want to install Xposed while maintaining Android Pay compatibility use this guide instead: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-root-xposed-safetynet-stock-rom-t3530906
You can also click the lock icon in the recents menu, it will prevent that app from being killed.

That is flar's kernel manager.
Under the memory section there is an option for adaptive low memory killer. click it till it says disabled and then hit the power looking button to the right so it becomes blue. that causes the setting to persist through reboots.
So I installed the apk. Do I have to do anything else besides rebooting after installing and activating app?

Anyone know if the Camera app can be prevented from starting on boot? (Perhaps a little contrary to the spirit of the camera, but I use it more for development than for taking pictures, and I don't like the lens motor wasting its time and wearing out its parts). Does it use the "normal" autostart mechanisms that might be disabled by something like Gemini App Manager, or is the camera start up built specially into the guts of the android version on this thing?
Don't know about the details, but enabling the screen lock (swipe to unlock) in settings stops the camera from starting when waking the device with the power button (doesn't stop the start after boot though).

Well, it stops the lens cranking out immediately on power up, but as soon as you do swipe the screen, you are in the camera app and the lens pops out. I'm looking to avoid the camera app completely. I guess if I get up the nerve to root this thing, I can try out an app manager and see if I can disable it on boot, but I'd hate to do unnatural things to the camera and then find out it didn't do any good .
If you are on the home screen when you switch off it will not open into the Camera app.

That depnds on how "off" is is. Once the suspend or hibernate or whatever it is expires and it goes "fully" off, it always starts in the camera.
Are you sure you really turned it off when it went to your homescreen without starting the camera app?
When starting from fast-startup or on a clean boot it will always start the camera app.
The only time it doesn't is if you had it in standby.
A work around is to use this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
Use it to set links to your favorite applications.
When you boot to the lock screen pull down the notification bar, select the app you want, then swipe to unlock and it will open in the app you selected.
Of course it would be much easier if Samsung had simply enabled lock screen shortcuts

It would be really nice to disable the camera on boot. It would also be nice to get rid of this stupid mesage:
"SD card inserted. Change storage location to SD card?"
I thought there was a thread for that, but can't find it now.

I only started to get this message since the new update, it appears as though the SD card doesn't get initiated before the camera app loads and in turn thinks you've inserted a new card, when it finally does get loaded. Either they need to put a delay in place or somehow not load the camera app until it's established whether there is a card installed or not.
Disable the BOOT_COMPLETE permission in the camera app but make sure something else has it or you boot to a blank screen.

The app that I should change permission is com.sec.android.app.camera , right ?

so ?
Get the latest files a quick Google search for Xposed Framework should get you to the right thread as I don't have it to hand and try it then. The settings asp changes from "Xposed Settings" to "Asp settings" in the latest version.

The developer of Capacitive Button Brightness recently made a version of his app that turns the capacitive buttons on with the screen, regardless of lighting. Idk if he implemented those changes in the Play Store version, but I'm linking his post below.

Which one are you trying (apk or play store)? You could try to reboot and/or clear the application's data (settings -> apps). Idk beyond that; it works for me.

Turned out using SuperSU rather than superuser seemed to fix the problem. Getting back on topic I suppose, this version of the brightness app solves the issue of the capacitive buttons! They now illuminate when the screen is on, turn off when the screen is off! you're a lifesaver.

I have no applications as you indicate.
it become complicated, however it is possible as this native application is integrated into some 4.2.2 ROM on HTC ONE
Your signature says you have a NavBar. I don't have a HTC One yet. Hopefully it'll come this week, but I do know that the HTC One doesn't have a navbar and if you have one, that could possibly be the culprit. Especially if it's the type that pops up when you hit a certain part of the screen like Paranoid Android Pie Controls. Usually these types of apps pause themselves when you're trying to install something, but it could be a bug, or something that hasn't been configured to pause and restart when installing something.
I'm not 100% sure this is the culprit, but it's a good possibility that you have an overlay app and just don't realize it. Pop up widgets, Unity type launchers, anything that pops up when you touch a certain part of the screen, but isn't shown otherwise.

LED Status:
RED -- Low battery/low battery charging

Due to the hardware/driver limitations the LED is non-blinking (always on).
