Anyone know what's the difference between these two head units ?
I also would like to know.
Don't think there is no difference except button layout.

Can someone explain the difference to me?
Is MTCD required for lollipop?
Are brands exclusive to one or the other?
Which one is better?
Thanks!
From what I'm understanding and I could be wrong, but I think the difference is the motherboards.
i think someone said in a Joying thread that MTCB was 4.4, and it needed MTCD for 5.1
the hardware that runs the 4.4.4 android is mtcB
the hardware that can run android is mtcD
completely different motherboard
you can not use the rom from one on the other.
the brands have nothing to do with this. they are all staring to sell mtcD units now.
They're the same, only different. HTH. HAND!
Pumpkin confirmed me today, that my head unit with Rk3188 1024*600 will get the update to 5.1.1 when they receive the rom from the factory.
and joying 2gb is MTCD or something superior? I can't understand
Same i dont get it?

Is there any website I can get reference for these info? I saw there's MTCE ad.
I'm trying to figure out what to get for my new Camry. I was/am interested in the Joying unit. I contacted them and asked which model they would suggest but they told me the Joying wouldn't fit my Camry. I don't understand why though. So I'm looking for some advice.
Like I said I love the Joying model and have watched a bunch of reviews online. I'd like something with physical buttons down the side and a volume knob if possible. Running full Android. I basically want to run Spotify and Youtube and Netflix. I'd be nice to have GPS built in as well.
I know my way around Android pretty well but car audio is out of my depth so any advice would be appreciated.
post ur dashboard picture please

Well, remember that any MY2017 vehicle is still quite new. If the dashboard area around the radio is significantly changed from the previous year (check... is it?) then it may take some time for the aftermarket to catch up and make the part you are looking for. Even if it HASN'T changed, the companies that actually make dash kits (scosche, metra) may simply have not yet had a chance to update their websites showing that the older parts still fit. The chinese radio vendors go by the dash kit makers' websites to determine compatibility.
You generally can't go wrong with a standard DDIN radio, because the aftermarket will make THAT soon as they get around to it.
Literally just bought a 2017 camry 2 days ago and was searching up the same thing. Hopefully something will come out soon thats compatible with out cars.
Damn. Sorry. I didn't get a notice that somebody had responded. Sorry for not getting back. My bad.
I did find this on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016D9PI8K?ref_=pe_623860_70668520
It says 2015 and up and I asked on Amazon if it would fit the Joying and was told yes. So hopefully that's true.
I'll post pictures of my dash tomorrow. I had a 2015 before this and it hasn't changed drastically.
Here's a picture of my dashboard
I just bought a chinese Android head unit off ebay.

I came here for some tips but it looks like the MCU that is on the unit is a different variant than the MTC* that XDA mentions.
The MCU that is listed on the unit is SM92B1.161111.V1-CYD-B3.
Is anyone familiar with this? I would love to get this thing modded a bit.
If it helps any, the splash screen when starting up is HIZPO.
You're in the wrong forum, this one is for Android Auto, which is a specific Google product. You want the Android Head Units forum.
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend some headunits for a BMW E90 2006? i have seen EONON and Xtrons but after a little research it seems most of these units are built in the same factory but the company just add there own little bits to make them unique. Given i intend to put a custom rom on i just wanted to check if theres any units are known to be good for custom roms?
Cheers.
Looks like joy unit are the most popular right now. Search on AliExpress.
Hi Guys
I've just passed my current car containing my MTCD headunit to my wife, having bought myself a new car. Its a vehicle specific unit so will be staying in my wifes car.
There are no vehicle specif units for my new car, so am looking at standard double din options. To be honest, I've never been overly happy with the MTCD unit, its the first gen version with 5.1.1 the crappy PX3 Rockchip SOC and 1 gig of RAM. I've finally got it working acceptably using Malaysks ROM and Micro Gapps, but dont really want to stick another one of these in the new car!
There are a few more options available these days, PX5 units with better Rockchip SOC and 2GB RAM, the Intel Sofia Units, some other varients and I am also looking at an Android Auto head Unit from JVC as these are coming down in price.
Important things for me are:
Bluetooth Hands free
Radio (not fussed about DAB)
Sat Nav / Maps
Reversing Cam
Music
Listening to Audiobooks, probably doesnt need to be listed, but its important to me!
ODB stuff is nice (but not so important)
Lastly, the performance needs to be acceptable, I dont care if its not blazing fast, but we all know how slow some of these units are!
With all this in mind, what do people suggest looking at currently?
Many Thanks.
Josh
Also interested.
Have done lots of reading on the PX5 vs Sofia but haven't come to a conclusion yet.
I too am in the market, I got an old Dashlinq 4 in my BRZ running Android 4.1.1 and would love something that can actually run somewhat smoothly and keep pace with current apps now. Really would like something with at least Android 6.0 and 2GB of ram. Other than that needs to be Toyota Universal 6.2 inch double din size.
If the vehicle allows it, get an Android 7.x, with a high res IPS display, they are flooding these in the android HU market in china, but models are limits to popular car models.
