I get my phone with 3.5.4 version.
I want to install 4.0.1 clean = wipe all data.
without rooting and custom recovery.
How can I do that? in official OP site I didnt found the stable version for download.
Take here the full rom
Take the full rom, boot to recovery and load the zip via adb sideload ... thats it.

Nope. Just sideload in ADB.
EDIT: Wait, in another thread you're bashing this phone and say you haven't bought it.
I ordered this phone and got it in 5-10 days.

If you receive your phone, boot it to recovery on first start, and sideload 4.0.1 full(!) ota. Or fire up your phone wirh whatever is installed, go through firsttime setup, go to Settings->System Updates and allow the os to update. Your question suggests, that the latter method is for you.

First, you need to use this tool to unlock bootloader. It will clean all your data.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/development/toolkit-oneplus-3t-toolkit-unlock-t3507729
Then,Install OxygenOS 4.0.1 with Stock recovery

If stock means completly stock, as if it would come with 4.0.1 out of the box, this will not work! If you use any of my suggestwd methods, myou will be stock, with stock recovery and still locked bootloader.
@napetost's method will work - but it's "only" stock rom - not stock phone. It's up to you, tomdecide what you want. If you want to root your phone anyway, I would go with his method.

Has anyone actually succeeded with it (installing it in stock recovery through adb? Tried all sorts of full rom versions and many adb versions and the best I got was reaching 47% of load. Some adb versions simply do not read the file (.zip ROM)..
On RR want to go to oos 4.0.1 downloaded full rom side loaded when complete and rebooting says no os installed
How I can do clean install?
I want format my phone completely and installing 4.0.1... NO OTA

I prefer to download the full zip, copy it to the phone and then go to Settings > System Updates > Cog Icon in the top Right > Local Upgrade > Select the copied zip.
After installing the OS go to Settings again and this time do a factory reset. Don't forget to select Erase Internal Storage if you want a full wipe.
After that, you're done. No need to mess with recovery mode and ADB sideload.

My Nexus 6 was on Android N. Then I rooted it using twrp to install supersu 2.71. This afternoon, I got a notification for Android N update ota, and I allowed it. It downloaded the software and boot up into twrp. What I am supposed to do next? I tried to reboot, but it always came back to twrp. This is my first rooted phone and I have no idea what is going on. Please help!!!
In twrp, I tried to Restore to the mashmallow back up (MOB30I), but it failed.

Reboot to bootloader in TWRP then reboot from there. This will end the loop.
Thank you for your response. I reboot into bootloader , then select :"power off". But when I turn on phone, it came back to twrp. I reboot back to bootloader, then select "start". It boot up to twrp again. Anything else I can try?
I tried again, reboot into bootloader and then select start again. It went through the same process, but it was able to boot again. Now I got notification of system update, like before. I need to unroot it to allow for android N update?
Thank you. You are a life saver.

Installing a stock N recovery in fastboot should be enough to allow you to take the update. You will likely need to install TWRP and then root again afterward.
Thank you Durgis. Can I have more instruction on how to install stock N recovery in fastboot. I guess have to download file for stock N recovery, boot the phone to bootloader, then use some command to install it.
ok.. you CAN NOT install an ota via twrp recovery. you have to have stock recovery if you want to install an ota, period. next time, search and read.

twrp cant flash updates, you neef the stock recovery for that. seems as you wiped your phones rom off the phone. so, youre going to have to push a rom to your phone and flash it.

You will get OTA, after Root also, but after updating your root will gone, recovery will replaced by Stock recovery, and if You are decrypted after update
it will get encrypted.

It allows local upgrade, but it has not much flexibility like TWRP.
I've just updated from 4.0.2 to 4.0.3 and here's how my "OTA" was working:
1) Got notification that the update is available
2) Went to XDA to download OOS 4.0.3. full ROM zip, TWRP 3.1.4.1 image and Magisk 11.1 root
3) rebooted to TWRP, flashed new ROM, Magisk root and TWRP image.
As far as I know, that's the only sure way to update your phone while keeping root and TWRP.

Hello, sorry for my bad english (German). I installed the update too and now my root, recovery, kernel.... are away. When I try to flash the recovery or other stuff with cmd, is there an error message: FAILED (remote: Partition flashing is not allowed)
Got anyone an idea how i can flash my recovery again?
Hello, I've softbricked a fair amount of phones and tablets in my time but I must admit never had this show up. After flashing Twrp and a dm-verity thingy, I received this shiny new error on my new 1+3t. While I'm assuming it's a straightforward fix such as:
Booting into Twrp and flashing stock 4.x Oxygen os and the stock recovery to bring phone back to where I started.
My question is, can't I just go straight about flashing a rom? I.e freedom rom, or is it advisable to just try start again?
And is me flashing stock os then recovery got to work?
Everything is still stock there is no root. All I have done is:
Code:
fastboot > oemunlock > reboot > fastboot flash Twrp > Twrp boot > Twrp > swiped to Modify > flashed dm-verity.
I did receive a password request first time round but after I rebooted phone it wasn't there again.
Thank you for helping in advance.

For anyone who get stuck!
1) download op3t stock recovery and the oxygen OS from oneplus website
2) boot into fastboot.
3) with your pc get up Adb and:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery stock.img
Fastboot boot stock.img
[\CODE]
4) Once you boot into recovery navigate to install from adb.
5) in cmd again on pc type
[CODE] adb sideload filename.zip
[\CODE]
6) then reboot :). You can leave it here if you want.
So I'm back on stock. With Magisk installed. Only dm-verity still come up which I'm not keen on. But I guess I can live with it. But I'm stuck with a bunch of system apps I can't get rid of? I've tried titanium backup, and link2sd my go to but nothing any ideas? Anyone now how to get rid?

Hello,
I have Oneplus 3 A3000 running on OOS 4.0.1 (Android 7.0). I also have official OP3 twrp recovery version 3.0.3-0 installed and root was done using supersu free v2.82.. It also has dm verity prompt which comes up during boot time because it is oem unlocked.
I want to know exact procedure to go to complete stock rom + stock recovery along with links to download stock recovery and rom. I saw different versions of stock recovery for different OOS. I don't care about device data as everything is on cloud and nothing on is on device. App list also I can get from google account history. Only thing I care is not to corrupt any system partitions. I also saw few posts that go into boot loop if incorrectly unrooted. I would not want that either.
Your help is greatly appreciated. Virtual beer for you ???. I am software engineer so even though I am noob in terms of hacking my android, I can follow the instructions properly.
Thanks again.
You can flash official OOS Rom and just use TWRP, you can try using the current recovery you have. Allow it to boot after if it allows you then do not go back to TWRP, allow it to boot to its system and then normally it will just override TWRP with OOS stock recovery.

flash stock oos thats it.. you may leave the bootloader unlocked. better that way..
Sorry but I am still not sure about exact process. Here are my noob queries:
1. Should I update twrp to latest version before proceding? If so which one? currently it is 3.0.3-0. I remember running into encryption issue due to unsupported twrp when I did this last time.
2. Should I use wipe option to wipe anything before I update OOS? I want to do clean install. If so, what should I be wiping out of dalvik/system/data/internal storage/cache/usb otg?
3. To update, I should copy full ota zip on internal memory -> go to recovery -> install -> select zip file -> swipe to flash. Is that correct?
4. After that if I boot into recovery -> I will keep twrp and if I let it boot, it will replace twrp with stock recovery right?
5. Let say, I let it boot n install stock recovery, will I have dm-verity during next boot?
6. Will my superSU root be gone or still be there? If it is still there should I do complete unroot before starting this process?
7. If it is not gone, is it ok to do complete unroot after stock oos + recovery is installed?
8. I saw a dm-verity patch zip which can be used to patch dm-verity in bootloader mode if I do "fastboot oem disable_dm_verity and fastboot oem enable_dm_verity". Does it suppress the issue or it resolves it gracefully?
Thanks for the patience and help in answering the queries advance.

2. Wipe dalvik/system/data/cache ..

I will tell you what I do.
Flash the latest official TWRP which is 3.1.1-2
If you want a totally clean install, boot into recovery and wipe system data including internal storage, dalvik and cache.
Then without rebooting, push the ROM downloaded from the OnePlus site to the phone. Select the ROM in recovery and swipe to flash.
Otherwise you can copy the ROM to the phone, boot into recovery, wipe system, data, dalvik and cache and then in recovery, flash the ROM.
Wipe dalvik and cache and reboot into system.
Your root will be gone and along with it TWRP. You will be on stock ROM with stock recovery.
Leave the bootloader unlocked. If necessary, it can be locked at any time.
Most likely you will not get the dm verity error. If you do, simply flash the zip given in post #215 in siankatabg's thread on dm verity. It will merely remove the message as all such methods do.
Enjoy

Hi sorry I was afk for couple of weeks. So I started following this procedure. Very strangely, after I did a reboot post stock OOS (1.4gb zip) flash, twrp said no os installed, you are sure you want to reboot? I wasn't sure so I just said yes. Then I also so dm-verity coming back which was not the case when I started as I had disabled it using "fastboot enable_dm_verity" command.
Now, its been more than five minutes and my phone is stuck on the boot animation forever. (red dot in middle and two while dots rotating).
I am not sure what happened. Can someone please help me ?

Awesome. I am still getting safety net failure even after locking bootloader lock. Any ideas? It fails on CTS profile match. I even did factory reset. Only thing I can think of is the "dm verity" which is back for some reason even though I am on complete stock rom+recovery with no root or unlocked bootloader.
Any way to remove it from stock recovery?

There is a zip floating around XDA which I am not able to locate immediately. It may be on siankatabg's thread on dm verity. Simply flash it.
There is also another method I read about where you flash the 4.0.2 firmware, use the enable verity command on adb, boot the phone and then flash the current firmware.
Both methods are mentioned here in XDA. Search for it.
EDIT: One of them here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72273041&postcount=215
See also the OP of the same thread for the other method.

i remember having the dm verity but i forgot what i did to make it disappear.. after that time ive been running OOS rooted with twrp until i decided to go back to stock locked
So, I stopped doing anything as I got busy with my life. Here comes the 4.1.7 OTA and my DM verity was gone. So, it seems like if you go to stock and if still dm verity exists, try to do ota update or go to one ota back for flashing.
Hi, sorry for bad English.
I'm having trouble installing Custom ROMs on my Mi 8 Global. Any custom rom I install, after reboot on TWRP, the mobile does not start, it only stays on the fastboot screen or returns to the TWRP.
I already unlocked the bootloader, ADB ON, drivers installed on PC, TWRP OK, all neededs WIPEs ...
I can only install the STOCKs ROMs. I think the problem is when doing FLASH in the ROMs. It may be that I can only install ROM by Fastboot, but by Recovery not.
In the TWRP LOG, there is not a single error after installing the ROMs, always success.
I follow all the tutorials, but never start the system after installing by recovery.
Another thing I noticed is that when I install the custom rom, if I go in the TWRP file browser and go there in the SDCard folder, the files do not appear as it usually gets, such as the "Android" folder for example.
I've had several Androids since the Galaxy Y time and I've never had this problem.
Any idea?

Any idea?

I ll try this. Thank u
You have to format data via typing "yes", it is not wiping data, it is button in twrp. After that everything gonna be ok.
maybe you should flash a miui based on android pie (globe developer version)
then use the latest twrp recovery (both wzsx and black pitch is ok)

No, not a tip has solved the problem. Yesterday I spent all day trying different things, searching in several sites but nothing works. I'll have to settle for the ROM stock.
I had the same problem installing pixel experience you need to flash stock fastboot rom via miflash be careful, do not select the relock option, then install twrp, wipe system, caches and data and install your custom rom It worked for me.

Sorry bad english, translated by Google Translate ...
Now I've been able to install custom ROMs.
I tested Havok and Pixel Experience.
I'll speak the steps I did:
1 - Install the Stock Pie: MIUI Global Stable 10.1.2.0 (dipper_global_images_V10.1.2.0.PEAMIFI_20181211.0000.00_9.0_global_0099f5af5f)
Install with XiaomiMiFlash, at the bottom, check the option "Clean All".
NO INSTALL ON TWRP MODE.
2 - Start the system normal and make ADB ON
3 - Make Root
4 - Start the system normal again
5 - Install TWRP: recovery-TWRP-3.2.2-0711-XIAOMI8-CN-wzsx150 (use this version)
6 - WIPE > Advanced> System, Data, Cache
7 - Flash ROM: PixelExperience_dipper-9.0-20190111-2226-OFFICIAL
8 - Reboot System
9 - Ready!
10 - Optional Step (*recommended*) - Go again in TWRP and Wipe > System, Data, Cache, Internal Storage > Flash ROM > Reboot.
After this procedure I was able to install custom roms without problems.
