i Was talking about OTA update
sad, my p1ma40 s36 rooted (i keep stock recovery not twrp) can't update OTA. someone help me , my phone rooted! There must be someway to upate , not flashing the big firmware.

you can go For minmod editions,
if you want something stable in custom Rom go for RR or AOSP,
I would prefer RR

i used sptool to flash s40 rom now i get invialid imei and i can't use any sim card
*i tried upgrade first didn't work so i went with format + download

i tried to flash S024_150914 and S036_160822 but the same problem so i got back to s40
any way i will try Lineage OS 7.1.1 for now

For me everything is working fine.
There are methods to change IMEI to previous one. It's all mentioned on site. Search it. If not found then create account there and ask.

Please be careful and pay attention to the steps mentioned in the guide so you don't end up with a bricked device

i flashed this rom and every thing is working fine execpt notification panel dose not show any icons and phone is not connecting to pc please help

but i tried installing custom recovery and when i restarted my phone into recovery i got it hardbricked and the phone was prety much dead good thing i had my warrante and i told them an update i clicked on the phone caused that so they changed my mainboard :/

you can use mtk droid tools for make a backup with this files (complete procedure in youtube: backup mtk droid tools):

The main target of this ROM is people with "unlocked bootloader problems". It's because it works with stock kernel and locked bootloader.
It shows only 1 sim and no sim setting. That's a bit problem for me cause' I use 2 sims

Yes, I can't fix it because lack of dual sim support for Android versions before 5.1
But both sims works fine.

You can use this modded version of Device Name Fix.
IMPORTANT: Install SuperSU! You need a rooted device! AOSP is NOT pre-rooted!
Download Device Name Fix (there's a Download ZIP button if you need)
Extract/copy the file dnfix.sh to /system/bin/
Update permissions of dnfix.sh to 0755
Open a Terminal Emulator and run the following commands:

Why do you want updates for this ROM? It's good enough, there's no reason to update it.
And 5.1/6.0 will not be able to use on Locked Bootloader.

Okay buddy ..... actually due to lack of time, didn't do much R&D on "universal sprout convertor" , frankly i didnt knew that such concept does existed .
So i straight away moved to fix the issues after i got the rom working .
Many users didnt find actual links for MIUI8 Sp4 , after miui7 repatch they also requested to upload this one too .
Anyways buddy , Let the development be continued ^_^ !!!

This is really nice......
I flashed this on spice mi 498
But still bugs are there.......
Tapping on recent apps is force closing the system ui........But I managed it
Moreover, I can't flash IMEI....
I'd tried chamelephone,didn't succed..
Next tried using root explorer, but then I noticed IMEI SV also turned to null.....
So,seniors,any solutions????

Chamelephone app works only for rooted phones, Have you rooted your phone successfully? If yes then manually give the permission to super su app to auto start. And grant access to chamelephone app from super su app manually. I also use this app to change back to my default imei which is successfully done without any problem. Hit thanks if I helped.

Ya,I used chamelephone,but then I noticed that the IMEI SV turned to "unknown"....
So I copied the MPB_001 from NVRAM Of the stock rom and pasted in NVRAM of this ROM....

I had set up my mi account previously on my sprout....
And after only tapping on recents I m getting system FC...
So I had to restore miui again....
But just after restoring I m getting that the device is associated with mi account and I have login....
I connect my device to wifi...and I m getting a pop-up-getting device security info......and it says after sometime that it cannot get a valid device ID as there is no network. ..I have to flash IMEI via chamelephone......but I cannot login....how to go past of this??

OK
But when I headed recovery and did a clean wipe(system,data,cache and dalvik) and flashed this ROM,I got error 7,

Bro @JamFlux im sharing my noob knowledge on mi a1 partiton system.
Bro our mi a1 have skip_initfs on kernel side.
Ab partiton use initfs or ramdisk from system partition intead of boot.img the boot.img ramdisk is only there for recovery only and whole root fs is changed on mia1
And selinux policy also devide into various location on system and boot.img. bro u can see chainfire and topjohn theory how they root ab partiton device they expailed every thing on thier thread "they expailed in pixel thread"
Mi 5x dev able to boot our whole system image and boot.img only changes with ramdisk.
U are the creator of epic miui.
I can wait to see miui on our mia1 now u are looking on our mia1 soo im very happy to see u here to develop for our mia1.

A. obviously you will receive updates as like before
Q2. Can we try this on Locked Bootloader?
A. No
Q3. Can we use this without Adb Tools?
A. No

A. Yes works On Oreo , pie & Q but keep this point in your mind update your platform tools time to time due to For Q & Pie & Oreo all these 3 having different different platform tools so if you face any erros don't get scared just download latest adb platform tools

This is specially designed for Nokia 7 Plus . With the help of this tool we can flash any stock home brew Roms and the links will be attached below .
How to use this?
Note - Make sure your phone bootloader is unlocked
1. Download Nokia-SDM660-Tool.zip & Copy Nokia-Tool.exe
2. Download latest HOME BREW Stock Rom And extract in one Folder and name it as STOCK ROM
3. Now add Nokia-Tool.exe in to that respective STOCK ROM Folder
4. Now connect phone to pc
5. Go to download mode
6. Now Open Nokia-Tool.exe
7. Now select Button according to your Phone code & Stock Rom code
8. Example Iam Using Nokia 7 Plus & My phone code B2N & latest Stock rom for my phone is 354H so i will choose B2N354H
9. i will click on B2N354H According to my phone as i explained in point no.8
10. wait for 10 min Tool will flash the rom & your phone reboots to system.
11. So finally this is what the exact standard method to flash stock rom on Your devices

So after updating to stock rom, will the bootloader stay unlocked ?
why is it booting on Android Oreo, even after flashing Android 10 Stock ROM ?

Also, it doesn't detect any wifi at the setup page !
All the .imgs get flashed, except this one:
fastboot: error: cannot load 'B2N-410C-0-00WW-B03-cda.img': No such file or directory
This might be useful information to you. When starting up after this, the phone does boot, but Google Apps keep crashing
for me, all the .img files are failing !!!!
All I get is
"'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."
And yes of course the phone is in Fastboot/Download mode.
EDIT: Got it working by copying everything in that STOCK ROM folder into adb. Instructions unclear.

Yes. Bootloader will stay unlocked no matter how many ROMs you flash. Talking from experience ?

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I lost all backups of stock ROM by accident so it would be very handy if I could get back to it someday without locking the bootloader again ahahhaha
Would it fine if you could update the ROMs to the latest patches if that's possible? I don't want to spend an hour updating my phone each time I come back from trying a different ROM XD
(I use a Nokia 7 Plus btw)

You also need to put Minimal ADB and Fastboot files in that folder.
when i try to flash the stock rom using nokia tool it gets stuck at "erase ssd" then the nokia tool shows not responding . is there any solution to this?

how did you do it? because mine gets stuck and the tool doesn't respond. can you give me the instructions ?
if i can make software update (OTA)? after instalation stock system by pc my phone tell me that i must update system before configuration.

Same! More documentation for this tool is needed.
I would like to flash stock rom because of lack command NFC in custom roms. Can I flash stock rom without wipe and format data of custom rom?
