I was on slimrom ics and suddenly after flashing to another version of this rom. the gps doesnt want to work. I already flashed different roms but gps is still broke
How can I fix this? it keeps hanging on "searching for gps" all the time
same problem
I have the same problem exactly:crying:
please help if you can
Try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Double.FasterFix&hl=en
It helped me at least.
after applied FasterFix try a physical method...at least for me works...and increase substantial the strenght of the GPS signal.
Its a method discovered here...on forum.
1. remove back cover
2, looking from back of the phone, you have camera in right and speaker in left side.
3. next from speakers is a piece of plastic cover..for the GPS antenna.
4. uncover 3 milimeters from that cover and put under a piece of tiny plastic..
5. cover back GPS antenna,....cover back phone...and look at the strenght of the signal using GPS Test Plus from market.
guess that version you flashed to has a slightly different modem... if nothing else works flash a different modem in odin

Do you hahave experience with this app on JB? I have X-Bean 2.0, and sometimes I have problem with GPS location.
Slim Bean and GPS
I am running Slimbean 2.6 and had GPS issues. With a lot of mucking around it turned out it was because somehow the system was set to not share my location with my apps. I played with settings and cleared app data and eventually it started working. And now it works fine, and with fairly rapid location fixes.

The gps config file is located at:
System/etc/gps.conf
# Original configuration file:
NTP_SERVER=pool.ntp.org
XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com
SUPL_PORT=7276This is the default config. There is no country or continent code because the rom might be downloaded for use anywhere.
# Line 1 has been changed to my UK country code:
NTP_SERVER=uk.pool.ntp.org
That is the only change I make. But there are other parameters you can set if you wish (q.v.).
Root Explorer is used to make these changes - and to automatically back up the original file. You can use an app; but you learn more doing it this way.
GPS Status Pro is used to manage my A-GPS state and get gps assistance data from internet (has to be done every couple of days).
I use Locus Pro and Maverick for offline maps and these work well without any problems.

Ok, the internal GPS IS detected, but the signal is very very bad. after 10 minutes, still no GPS fix (clear sky)...with stock firmware it would fix in 5 secs. Any suggestions?

This thread is for discussion of the nightlies only from http://www.get.cm
Where to get info:
A good place to discuss in real-time is IRC at channel #lg-g2 on freenode

Google+ is preferred but I will cross post to twitter as well.
Known issues:
-While LG's knock on feature works, knock off does not work yet.(A simple work around is go to the settings and add a "go to sleep" quick settings tile)
Installation:
Instructions will be up soon at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org
Must have CWM or TWRP 2.6.3.3 or newer already installed
If flashing from a LG based rom then you must wipe the /data

I don't know yet. I'm flashing the nightly to see if its something in this particular build that I can reproduce. I've been running CM-10.2 for over a week without any roaming, signal, or data issues.
If you are having this issue then please join #lg-g2 so we can figure it out.
There was a very large RIL change that was merged yesterday that might be effecting VS980
I am!!
All you have to do is enable Roaming Data and it will work, however it will give you the R in the signal strength icon still and you need to use WiFi to sign into your CM and Google accounts.

Toggling airplane mode on and then off got me LTE.
what gapps do we use
knock on
Does the knock on feature work? With that back power button I really like that feature.
Toggling airplane mode on and then off got me working LTE. I went into the Mobile NEtworks setting again and it crashed and went off. However toggling airplane mode on and off again fixed it. This is a fix it appears, but there is still something funky going on.

Actually, yes it does, at least to wake the device, to put it to sleep you do have to still use the back power button. Personally I prefer the button placement on this phone to the standard side placement now that I've used it for a bit.

Check the OP.
Knock on works, knock off doesn't but you can add a "go to sleep" quick settings tile so you don't have to pick up the phone.
Also...this first nightly is going to be removed since a change that was merged last night broke the radio on this first build for VS980.

Trying to make sure of that now. Of course, there's always a chance someone will merge something at the last minute that will break the nightly again...such is the life of the nightly =)

Yup, and to be honest, I can deal with the first one for now
I have TMobile Working on the Verizon Model. CM 10.2 Nightly
The Mobile networks control panel forces close in settings so setting up the APN was a bit of a challenge. However, once I got the APN set, I have HSPA + speeds and everything reports correctly, as if it is native to this device.
I hope that the radio (Modem) is ported from the T Mobile edition so that I can have access to 4G like I had on my Nexus 4!
Thanks CM Devs. Another awesome job.
Excited for this

Hello,
I got an WLAN Problem with my Xiaomi Mi 9. Im currently using the newest Miui Global Version and tried many other ROMS, but got almost everywhere a WLAN Problem. My WLAN is like freezed. Im connected but it takes like 1 min until something load completly. The only way to fix it is turning Hotspot on for 5 sec, then disable it, restart the phone and turning Hotspot on again and disable it. Then my WLAN works perfect, until I restart again. I just doesn't understand what is causing this problem. I also tried different ROMS like Xiaomi EU and CrDroid, but I got the same problem. The only ROM that worked without WLAN problems was Pixel Experience, but its draining my battery too hard. Can anyone help me with this strange problem?

I've tried your tip, but then my internet and wifi-smart home don't work anymore. They need ipv6.
Again with new weekly xiaomi.eu rom (9.8.1, clean flash) all problems starts again ...: Frozen after start, frozen after wake up, laggy by using Witz Fritz 7590 , fw7.12
Today i try with another ipv6 option in my Fritz Box 7590. Problem of Android 9 seems to manage ipv6 over DHCP.
Scripts and Apps, who auto deactivate ipv6 in Mi9 don't work reliable.
To deactivate ipv6 in my router was not functional for my Network.
Another option there was to take native ipv6 instead of simulaton over native ipv4. This causes the error in my Phone: this network have no internet connection.
Actually i try to tunnel ipv6 over ipv4 (without endpoint). It seems ok. I will check this the next days.
I had this exact problem and yesterday I made a wifi scan to determine if there was other wifi networks nearby on the same channel. Turned out that there always were at least one or two on the same channel as me all the time. Sometimes as much as four within one hundred meters on the same channel (ch 100 on 5gHz). As there are lots of channels free, I set the router to one of those and my problem went away!
Thanks, Gerhard, for read and reply.
By me, without ipv6, only over ipv4 my wlan in mi9 works exellent with FitzBox auto-channel for both, 2 and 5 ghz.
And there are no other users on my frequency (shown by the box).
I live alone direct near by the Graveyard :cyclops:.
Have you tried another router? Perhaps log on to a friend’s router and check out the configuration. In your place I would try to use manual channel instead of auto. Sometime other things will interfere with the wifi signal. Use 5 gHz and not 2.4 gHz as this band is more affected by interference.
I think we can rule out the zombies from the graveyard for now!
Thanks for ideas, i have tryed out another router (Fritz 7490) and i am on 5ghz and i have tryed out other manual channels.
In march this year, all my Mi's (Mi5, Mi6, Mi8) work fine with Xiaomi.eu beta roms. I updated them weekly since years ...
Since may or june this year, i don't now exact, there was first failure with my new Mi9 ans the weekly Rom Update. My other phones work fine, i found.
There are a few other users in other forums, that have exact the same problem, even with other routers.
Some beleave, that issue corresponds with kernel. But there are no kernels, wich works with miui 10, android 9 and encrypted phone.
And therefore i wait for android10 with new kernel (beta tests are in progress and the final is anounced this summer)
an try to find a solution between. Zombies are friendly here, i found.
