resetting?

recently my phone has been acting weird, for an example, today, i was at work and i was responding to a text, and as i was typing my phone suddenly froze, and then next thing i see is the "android" screen and it starts back up, im just wondering if anyone else has this problem, its been doing this for about 3 days now? or if anyone could tell me how to get around this problem itd be really great, thanks..

Some background info would be nice.

yeah I had this same problem when i was on an earlier version of CM experimental build, the problem for me was that it would do what i would call a soft reboot, where the android loading screen would appear and load for a couple seconds then go back to the home screen.
I found this problem out in the browser when i was trying to go back to the prvious pagr it would "reset" I dont know the cause but maybe you should get a Log of the error or when this happens and post it here or send to Cyanogen

Yeah some more background information would help us assit you with the issue. If possible create a signature with information about the ROM you use and any settings.

seriously though no one is going to help you if you don't want to tell us any background info, and if you don't want to, then why make a thread to begin with.

i didnt mean to be a smart a** what i meant by that was everything is how the phone comes out of the box, no rooting, no roms, no nothing, sorry if i came off the wrong way

[Q] HTC One black screen

I have had the One for about a month, and everything has been running smoothly, until a couple of days ago. The screen just suddenly wouldn't turn on, i could still hear sounds like messages and mails i was recieving. The first thing i thought of was reflashing the ROM, but the screen was still all black. I don't really know what to do, and i have searched the web for any solutions, but nothing seems to work. The sound still works aswell as all light and vibration. Does anybody have an idea of what i can do about it? Thanks

afaik that's a fairly common motherboard problem, i'd recommend backing up all of your media etc (I'm assuming you can see your files when you plug it into the pc) and call them [support . htc . com /contact], it shouldn't be too hard to convince them to send you a replacement

Just make sure to remove all traces of root!

though your screen is not working, but getting back to S-ON via Revone shoud work.... you will get to know if it is done sucessfully or not on the adb terminal itself.... so go on, do it, and send back for warranty.....

Had this a few weeks ago.. To fix it adb reboot to recovery... If u have the toolkit its much easier.. Try it

I've the same problems!! I've try to reset the phone but impossible cause of the lock schema.

Can you be more specific, did you install any custom ROM? Did you tweak the CPU frequency? Sometimes, due to that issue your phone might reboot automatically... can you describe what you have done to your phone in detail?

I have done nothing to the phone, The rom is the original one that comes with it, and I didn't tweak anything, it's not rooted, nothing, I ve just bought the phone 3 weeks ago.

[Q] my xperia x8 turns on and off again and again

Hello everyone.
I just got my xperia x8 from my brother because he didn't know how to fix it.
The phone seems like it has not even a scratch.
The issue is that everytime i turn it on it is just turning on and off and on and off again and again.
I don't even have time to input my pin.
The battery always seems to be drained although i charge it occasionally.
I have updated it's os with pc companion, but it keeps doing the same thing.
Is there anything that i can do to fix it?

try to flash stock frimware through flash tools(this wipes the data & reinstalls the system partition)
Normally flashing fixes all software fault but if your hardware is damaged so you shouldnt be hopeful.
I think its a sw problem but even an empty battery can cause exactly the same react.(put another battery then try flashtools)

Did he do any modifacations to the software?
If not, seems like a battery problem to me. Anyway try to flash stock rom.

that's our little greek secret... no modifications to the software but he kinda had troubles with this mobile for the whole period of time he owned it.he didn't receive messages in the particular device as far as i can remember. the battery doesn't seem to have anything wrong though.it is just sliiiightly puffed but nothing that alerting.i mean i havent charged it for a long time and it can still power the mobile's "neverending loop". if there was a problem wouldnt it not turn on at all or something? i don't have an extra battery and i'm thinking of getting through with the flash stock romafter i charge it a bit.. should i? and if yes, how? i've never done that (a guide would be great )

links don't work. i found the stock rom. all i need now is flashtools. Working link anyone?

I got it done. i flashed it succesfuly and was able to work with it while connected to my laptop. once i unplugged it, it went off after 2 minutes. Now all i have to do is buy a new battery.Thank you guys. i just got a free x8 from my stupid brother

finger scanner

Hi,
I am currently experiencing a problem with my finger scanner. It does not show up under settings.
Everything was going going perfectly a couple of days ago, but one morning, it was bugging si I decided to restart my phone. Since then, it disappeared from the settings menu.
Does someone else have the same issue?
Is there a way to say if it is due to a software or hardware issue?
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the advice, but I already tried it, two times just to make sure... Nothing changed.
The weirdest thing is that restarting the phone gave me access to the fingerprint scanner once, but disappeared 2 days later... Since then, have not been able to get access to it. This is why I don't know if it is hardware or software related.

You should also try to downgrade to older software using FF, if that doesnt work than its hardware problem. EDIT: Try wipe cache using stock recovery first

By the way, I'm currently receiving a new software update (VTR-L29C432 190, which I already have). Sounds weird to me, but, I'll see after... It might help

Unfortunately, no... I am now on B360, but still no finger sensor in setting menu.
I'll let you know if I find something!.
