Hi, i flashed version 5.1 on fresh Paranoidandroid 1.0 rom with tytung 2.4 kernel and it doesn't work. I can't see any sound difrence, any new installed beats application and on first reboot i have crash. On old version 314 is the same. Is there any chance to got it working?

I'm confused with 5.1 you dodn't hear any difference but it didn't have any errors?
Well the feeling of beats mod is pretty hard and it differs from person to person.
Try to listen to some dubstep music with good headphones before flashing and later after You flash. You won't have any notification if the mod is working but it's active after the flash.

Viper4droid fix :
Most of users saying viper4droid is not working with this mod so be sure u have done following things before installing viper4droid drivers for Android M
1) latest busybox installed
2)set selinux mode to permissive mode
3) put u r viper4droid folder in data>media >legacy
4) don't forget to install viperfix.zip folder frim relevant thread

Its a universal audio mod u can give a try?
There is Uninstaller zip is also there just keep it and keep backup also
If something goes wrong just flash Uninstaller zip

Works beautifully on MahdiROM 2.9 KK. Glad they included V4A. I'll definitely be sharing some profiles for this.

U have to install viper fix. Zip from relevant thread.
Set selinux to permissive mode
And if u r using it on cm 13 place viper4droid folder in data> media>legacy

Kinda but not really works with miui 7 rom for oneplus. App opens but delays a lot and ends ups closing. Viper installs driver, asks to reboot to finish instalation, on reboot asks to install again.
Can't say I'm surprised, I've never managed to install any sound mod on miui7. Also sound doesn't play at all - opened youtube, played a video, app crashed before playing anything.
Was better than the last time I tried a different sound mod, last time totally borked the rom, wouldn't even boot properly and when it did, too many forced closes to be able to do anything.
Shame because although the rom is pretty great, default sound is very underwhelming and has no default option to improve...
Oh well, reverted to previous nandroid, all well again, no better audio though.

Which V4A drivers you installed? Does super audio quality drains a lot of battery?

Its real that super audio drains battery but not too much...
But u can use viper4droid only while listening music don't use it for ideal phone use means for speakers except at the time of listening music

Hi @pankspoo, thanks for sharing the mod with us. I have 2 questions in regarding to the mod.
1) U mentioned abt the Viperfix.zip, is that needed as i was able to Instal V4A drivers with no issues. So do i need to bother about that zip?
2) R u still using RR MM Rom with Lightning Kernel V1? as i heard that Lightning kernel only works with CAF based roms, but RR is a non CAF ROM right? So is that kernel really helps than the RR Provided kernel?

As per OP of xtreamemusic thread he mentioned viperfix. Zip for people's who having drviers installation problem but i Personally installed it at first installation of the MOD and there is no problem

viper4android driver don't process kills my sound for few sec when open the app, tested to clean app cache, reinstall driver dont help. Dolby work. On StockRom
have fixed it when change selinux to permissive

You will get bugs and errors if you flash it over any other sound mod, so if you have any sound mod (mostly Dolby or Viper) uninstall using my uninstall zip provided in the top of the thread. Then install wicked beats it should be fine. (no offense) have fun ✌

But when I click update zip in stock recovery, it shows update only performs in non encrypted external sd card. Do i need to ignore and continue with flashing. Also do i need to change the zip file name to 'update' to flash. Thanks...

You cannot use it in stock recovery, TWRP recovery required. ✌

Viper 4 Android Arise (Oreo 8.0 OOS Based) Working Steps

Hey All,
I Read many messages about Viper not working in Oreo ROM,
I have some steps & file through which i am able to run V4A + Dolby Digital with Best sound quality in my life.
Here are the name & steps of File (sorry you can search for link in google easily available) :-
Files Required :-
1) magisk-permissive-script_v1.2 (Magisk Module)
2) ARISE+Deuteronomy+2.94+Modular+AROMA+Installer (ZIP Flashable file) around 125 MB
Steps :-
1) Rooted OOS (Stock or Beta) / Freedom OS (based on Oreo 8.0) with Magisk V15+ (Stable Latest only)
2) Load magisk-permissive-script_v1.2 from Magisk Manager & Flash
3) Reboot
4) Check in Setting > System About > There will be no SE LINUX STATUS SHOWING (Thats OK)
5) Reboot in Recovery (Official TWRP 3.2.1 recommended but also work with blu_spark twrp)
6) Wipe Dalvik / Cache
7) Flash ARISE+Deuteronomy+2.94+Modular+AROMA+Installer (Link : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141554 )
8) Now you would be in Aroma Installer (Now select only as per under Lisit, rest of all select Skip or No)
- Core Module - INSTALL YES
- Viper Version 2.5 - INSTALL YES
- Dolby Digital Plus - INSTALL YES
- Remove Deep Buffer - NO
- SeLinux Permissive - YES
- SD Card Repair Permission - YES
Rest of all option Select NO or SKIP (THIS IS MUST FOLLOW)
9) Finish Installation in 1 minutes.
10) back to TWRP
11) Reboot to System
12) Wait few minutes, if stuck in boot then go to TWRP & clear Dalvik Cache.
13) On main screen
13) Go to Viper4Arise from Menu drawer
14) Load Profile (Viper 4 Arise)
15) Back to Main drawer
16) Use Google Play or any third party app ( i have tried Saavan also, it worked)
17) Play music > Feel the Effect
18) You must adjust Dolby digital plus setting under Music option as per your need (equaliser)
19) Reboot System, Everything is working fine. Nothing to do again.
20) Even with many different Kernel no issue (tried blu_spark, Franco kernel, boeffla kernel)
I am sure this is universal solution for OOS based rom 8.0
Please let me know if you are still facing issue.

Its Nitrogen os , redmi 4x. Stock kernel . the story is I could use viper and dolby before. But i uninstalled becouse I wanted to try an onlder version. Since then I cant make any of them work, forceclose or update popup with viper. Is it caused by a module?

Wow I didnt even notice it . btw I still dont understand. It should be working

After flashing the viper4arise on OOS, I get dirac control service force close. If I remove dirac related apks manually, then the ringtone volume reduces and phone earpiece quality becomes high pitched on call somehow.
Can anyone confirm this? I am on OB31

there's no need for permissive Module anymore, the latest V4A module by Ahrion works strait out of the box in Enforcing with no issues.
only thing that might need to be installed is Busybox.

im on ob31 , remove any related modules and any old v4a or permissive one and dirty flash rom to add dirac back, and then flash the Ahrion V4a module from Magisk manager download section (or you can find it in the magisk forums) ... works perfectly fine without issues.

There's a good busybox module in magisk repo by osmosis , it works for me try it

@theduke7 are you planning to update freedom os ce or stable for next release ? I loved your rom & would like if we can get viper ready rom with your current root safety net features.

Has anyone tried to install Magnum Opus (latest version)? I'm on open beta rom and I try like a 1000 times to install it from different ways, but it refuses to install the driver once booted. Viper app says driver status abnormal and not installed...

What steps have you followed? Are you in open beta?

Which version of Viper4Android do you use for Oreo 8.1 ???

I'm currently using Resurrection Remix 6.1.0 and most things work correct. The only issue i have is sound quality and level.
I'd try too many versions of viper4android but all of them have some bugs. Some of them works but sometimes not proccesing. I have to reboot the phone multiple of times to work again. Sometimes works but suddenly stop to procces ? . I disabled Viper4Android and re-enabled that, force stop, clear cache and data, reset settings and in the end nothing!
Another issue is speaker sound. Its too low even on viper4android. I set everything on highest level but not enough. On Miui 9 (Custom ROM) and Nougat 7.1 everything was awesome, but on Oreo 8.1 is terrible.
I saw in some threads that peploe talk about Viper4Android works great! I want to know which version do use on 8.1 custome roms?

It's well known that every Oreo base custom ROM has some weak sound output. None app will fix the speaker output. Nougat ROMs are your choice if the sound output is your priority.

I'm running MSM Xtended v9.5 by Jay_B (which is my all time favourite ROM - highly recommended) and I have rooted with Magisk v16.0.
Magisk, when installed, has a list of downloads. I have downloaded and installed the modules:-
"Audio Modification Library" v1.8 by Zackptg, Ahrion and
"VIPER4Android FX" v1.7 by VIPER520, ZhuHang, Team_Dewitt, Ahrion, Zackptg
When installing viper I chose the 2.5.0.5 Material version.
I'm not sure if the Audio Mod makes a difference or if the version of viper makes any difference but this is what I am running and very happy with it.
I use viper mainly to listen to music (128gb sd card full with mostly music).
Try the Magisk approach to install, I'm a long time fan of viper and we have had some hard times installing viper over the last few versions of Android but the Magisk approach has worked well for me for some time now.
If you still have no luck, give MSM Xtended a try, it really is an excellent ROM.
To all the devs mentioned above - thank you for all your time, effort and the amount of work you put in to this.

check the last 2-3 pages of posts in the MSM Xtended rom thread, after trying a lot of different sound mods i finally found a dolbyatmos mod that actually makes a HUGE difference both in volume level and quality of speaker output. its the only mod ive tried that really works and has a very noticeable impact. everything else, incouding viper4android, sauron mod, musicfx amd the inbuilt rom equalizer had no effect whatsoever.

I install 'Audio Modification Library' and now viper4android v2.5.0.5 is work. I used v2.5.0.5 on miui android 7.1 and was awesome.
