I'm interested in seeing what controls the soft key positioning in android to come up with a manual fix for moving the back button to the right. From what I could briefly find from searching it looks like a SystemUI mod but was wondering if anyone bad any more specific guidance?
Thanks
Figured it out never mind lol

Here try this one. I don't have stock but I pulled SystemUI and framework from the 5.0.1 factory system.img to build a new one.

Parse error doing what? Should just paste it on top of the other one and change permissions. Not sure where you are parsing at?

No the one I posted here is from stock 5.0.1 framework should be fine.
Has anyone tried the stock, rooted version yet? Do I just swap the new apk for the old one using a file explorer and change the permissions?

I tried this and after I rebooted, I did not have a navigation bar at the bottom. Perhaps I did something wrong?

If you don't have root explorer it didn't appear to work well for others I'm not sure why. I can try to make a zip to flash I'll look into it tomorrow.

That would be awesome! I tried to do it with es file explorer. I changed the name of the old file. Placed the new one in the same folder, changed permissions for the new one and rebooted the phone. Upon reboot I had no navigation bar.

I can confirm it didn't work, stock unlocked rooted 5.0.1. Used root explorer to rename the stock ui to. bak, set permissions, reboot. No nav bar, volume buttons didn't work, no lock screen.

Viper4Android for Android Nougat is out but after installing it I realized that MusicFX is still present in my ROM and V4A is not working inside all apps.
So I have created this simple Viper4Android Cleaner script to take care of that.
I have tested this on all Nougat ROM available right now and it's working very well. The script will remove MusicFX, AudioFX, SoundFX or DSPManager.
Also in order to make V4A working inside any app, audio_effects.conf and audio_policy.conf needed to be replaced.
In short all you need to do is flash it in TWRP before or after V4A installation. After when you boot up there is no need to update driver anymore.
It's all done, just turn that switch ON in V4A app and enjoy your favorite tunes.
ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip can be found here.
Nice, good job!

In the Viper app there is a lot of options to play. You will need some time to set it up but once you are happy with results you can save your profile so next time you don't need to do it again.
I also just added My Viper profile in firs post if anyone like to try it. Extract it to internal storage/Viper4Androd/Profile folder and load it up with Viper app :good:

No, the script will not remove old versions of viper or any other viper combinations. There is just to many files for me to track. This is meant to be for fresh ROM installations, to remove default effects and make ROM ready for V4A.
N5X should be okay but I don't have that device so I can not test it.

If you are on millennium ROM or any one with Magisk, install Viper4android from the magisk library. Just download and it will install automatically.
Just make sure you have Uninstaller app to uninstall Samsung's stock sound alive; Viper won't work with Soundalive present.

Make sure it IS working, you can have "Dolby surround and pro logic" IRS; which can make sound pretty loud.
I will try attaching it, after you have it. Go to convolver, press on IRS, it should give you error of some sort, after that copy the file in the viper4android folder in the internal memory>kernel. Boom, it should be working.
PS: I can't attach the file but Google it you may find it.
OR just turn on playback gain, you can adjust it in the settings, in which it can go as far as "extreme" gain; aka the loudest.

I still haven't got the new version of AA.
Oddly enough, after I reinstalled the app, now I have no way of starting AA on the phone (the icon in the drawer is gone and the app info doesn't have the option to stop it).
I know this is expected, but the thing is now I can't access this supposed option to "Try the new Android Auto".
Any ideas on alternate ways to enable it?
Some adb command maybe?
Thanks in advance.
I have the same question.
Have you tried to go to Applications menu, select Android Auto and check settings from there?
I also still waiting for the new UI
1. install android auto 4.5 version
2. root phone
3. run this command: sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.gms/databases/phenotype.db
4. run this sql: update flags set boolval=1 where name='Boardwalk__enabled';
5. reboot phone
if not work, connect to car first and finish setup, try again

Didn't work for me, tried it 3 times.

Pretty sure he means if you want to force it now before Google is ready for it to roll out to everyone, you have to be rooted so you can modify system files. I read that Google is rolling it out in waves. 1st to factory built in models then eventually for aftermarket radios running off the phone. drnightshadow provided the sql commands to force the option in settings on the android auto app to appear but you'd currently have to be rooted to do that. Otherwise it's a wait for Google game I believe.

I know Google is rolling a Gmail update that adds Themes to Gmail. With the way they update the app could mean it's weeks before you actually get it. I did some reading and you can force themes by changing one word in a file. You will need Root and a a file manager like Root Explorer.
Below are the steps I used. Use at your own risk. The wrong change can cause issues.
Open your file explorer. Change the mode from read only R/0 to R/W. This allows you to make the change so it sticks.
Next, navigate to the root of the file system.
Navigate to data/data/com.google.gm/shared_prefs
Open FlagPrefs.xml with a text editor. Find the line that says "<boolean name= "DarkThemeSupport_dark_theme_support" value= "false" /v
Next, change "false" to "true" and Save and Exit.
Reboot your phone. When it boots open Gmail and it should be in dark mode. When you go into general submenu you will now see Themes. You can toggle light/dark.
Screen shots attached.
Worked perfectly for me.
Worked like a champ on Android 10 Stable for me.
Thanks, Gmail was the only app i use that I hadn't been able to get themed dark yet.
Oh, and Play Music, but I don't think it exists as of yet...
Looks cool. Thank you! This didn't work for me though. I rebooted and it still says "true" but no option for dark mode. I'm on 9.5.11. Does this only apply to Android 10?
I think it only works on 10. I tried it a while back on 9.5.something and had the same result as you.
Hi OP (@Mike02z)
Is there any way we mere mortals (those who don't have root enabled) can do this using ADB? Please list out the steps...it'll surely be helpful..
Amit
Easier workaround:
Install Prefrences Manager from play store. Open it and enable show system apps from the 3 dot menu. Scroll down to Gmail and open it. Swipe to FlagPrefs.xml and enable dark mode to true. Force stop gmail and if you have dark mode enabled from settings like in oos Gmail should have dark mode enabled right away. Hope this helps??

Yes, but I'm not getting any particular guides on how to install magisk on Android 10. I need twrp for this..but the guide on TWRP says it longer is applicable for Android 10...
Sorry Guys. Should have noted this works on OOS 10 stable. Have not tried on Pie.
For those looking for easy root. There is a thread with a 10 patched boot image. Flash that via Fastboot and you should have root. You still need to be boot loader unlocked. Only flash patched boot images for version of OS you are on or you'll likely bork your phone.
If you don't want to root, just hang tight. The Gmail with the "Themes" option is coming. When you'll get it is another story.
BTW, I'm on an unlocked 7 Pro
Excellent tip ! Thank you !!!!!

Thanks the advice. You are really contributing to the discussion. Nice work.
Yea, I get it, I posted something similar to something posted before. Its not in the top page of posts I looked. You don't need to play forum cop. Mods can remove if they want. Try to help and always someone that thinks they are smarter.

I have helped before, who said i wasn't. Just don't see why you felt the need to start yet another thread.
Let's see if this penetrates....I did not see the post you are referring to. I looked through 2 pages. I was just trying to help others since I did not see the other thread. What's the big deal? Why did you feel you had to point it out then continue to ask why I didn't look? Again, your posts in *this* thread helped no one. Are you a mod? No? Then report the thread as a dup or move on....

Couldn't be bothered. Very easy to use the search box. Just don't understand why the need was there to create another thread. O well
