Hi! I want to know that a HTC One m7 dual sim (m7cdug) can be changed into m7 single sim (GSM) variant without the dual sim capability.
Any help would be appreciated

What is your question exactly? Can a dual sim M7 run the single sim software/firmware? No it can't.

No, I want to know by changing its radio as well would allow to install m7 software. I don't care about second sim and I think that would work since there hardware is almost same.

That was exactly what I was saying above: No you can't use software/firmware made for the single sim variant on your dual sim variant.

There are some similarities but hardware speaking, these are 2 completely different phones. For example the M7_U is almost exactly the same as a M7_UL, the only difference is the radio chip being a MDM8215 instead of a MDM9215 and they can both accept each other software/firmware. Your variant is equipped with different radio chip(s?), different motherboard and who know what else... Yes they might share the same lcd, cameras, SoC and they have the same commercial name but it's 2 different phones...

A developer could most likely port recent software (rom) to the dual sim. There were a few old custom roms ported to the dial sim variant in the early days of the M7 but nothing new for a while. Development of this variant is pretty much inexistant now. You'd have better luck to find something for this variant on Asian forums... Firmware is designed for the specific hardware of that phone.

Probably? If they're tied to different lines, then most likely yes, as long as the bands match up.
yes you can, only Sim 1 works with LTE(no LTE for you) and WCDMA(which you can use)
but the better question is Where did you buy it and how much
i decide to buy a htc one but i dont know which one is better in software support !

pretty much yes, as long as you don't get Sprint or Verizon models (which are CDMA not GSM). if you want 4G / LTE you may need to check which bands are used, check this for different variants:

and google

hi thanks i see the links you put and i see all have gsm so it will work right?
Portugal uses GSM 900/1800 bands. Make sure the model u buy supports it.
Well I have been told that my Sprint version of my HTC ONE M7 wont ever be able to act like and international version, well why cant it ?
If its a partition problem cant we just modify it? just like sdmerge400 modified the partitions of LG e400s ????
I would like if someone would make a mod for this stuff (As my phone is unlocked and i have been told that GSM is now enabled. Source: Sprint Rep.)
And a fact is that both have the exact same RF chip the difference being that sprint has locked down its phons to CDMA only , Which is unlocked by carrier unlocking (That I have already done )
So i think it must be possible!
(PSardon me, I have made posts like this before but this one is a little bit different.)

Um.... Not entirely sure that's right. You'll want to double check the frequencies for the Sprint M7. Any CDMA band frequencies cannot be used for GSM or LTE purposes.
At least, that is what I was told.
Unlocking your phone will allow you to use the built in GSM functions of your M7, but the CDMA frequencies will remain inaccessible. My $0.02? See if someone wants to trade their international One for a Sprint One (lmao good luck), or sell it and buy an international One.

Sprint M7 cannot be converted to International M7.
Modem chipset is different. Firmware is different.
GSM unlock on sprint m7 is meant only for out of US gsm carrier Some people had success in using it on US based gsm carriers
Max you can do is modify xml files so your phone shows network options like in GSM models.
are there any real differences between the dual sim and single sim? besides the obvious 2 sims vs 1 sim difference lol.
what about differences between the models (clt-al00, clt-l29, clt-l09, etc)? if it helps, I am in the USA and T-mobile. I am just trying to find the best one that covers most bands if not all and prefer dual sim. any advice and help is appreciated thank you in advance
Yes there is a difference.
The difference is one accepts one sim card and the other accepts two sim cards

Thank u for ur reply.. But I have already stated the obvious 2 sims and 1 SIM differences. Anything else besides that?
It might be possible that the only difference is the card slot. It might still work with 2 sim cards with the right sim card adapter for two sims. Afaik it worked for older models.

Thank u.. Do u know if there's any difference from international and global? I'm trying to buy the p20 pro and I dont wanna end up buying one that doesnt work for my service provider in USA.
I have some relevant questions/thoughts on this. I noticed that some phones are listed as having band 41 and some are not (on eBay, varying model numbers of this phone). Now that T-Mobile might be roaming on Sprint and visa versa, band 41 does actually make a difference since the OP is using the phone on T-Mobile. Does anyone know if this is just a mistake on the listings? The official Huawei site lists band 40, but not band 41.

Band 41 is listed as well at least for some models. https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/6fe84965 another good site to see the difference between the different models is http://www.phonemore.com/huawei-p20-pro/models/1817 this one includes the different models, not all though as CLT-L04 is not included, and their specs including the bands for each of the different models. Some of them even support CDMA so in theory should be compatible with Verizon or Sprint.
I have CLT-L04
and i cant find any info about it!!!
Mine has Cat 16/ Cat 18, and it came with US charger, dual Sims and Google now. Model Number CLT-L29. Bought it from sobeonline1 on eBay. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wn539su2m077hpu/Screenshot_20180516-125141.jpg?dl=0

CLT-L04 is intended for the Canadian market. L29 is not so it may not have the LTE capabilities in North America while L04 would.
I thought it wasn't for sale until today (the 17th).

Just wondering will dual Sim adapter work with single Sim phone? No software that indicates any Sim settings
Single sim doesn't get updates.
I'd like to jump in here. I just got the CLT-L04 today. I just started working for a Canadian company this week and I will be stationed in the US in Atlanta. I want dual SIM capability so that I can keep my personal phone number but not have to carry 2 devices. he SIM card tray only came with the ability to support a singel SIM card. Can I just order a dual SIM card carrier? is there anything special I need to know or do on the phone to support dual SIM's?

My single SIM CLT-L04 already got an update once. C792. Not carrier branded.

You need to convert your phone to dual SIM variant using paid software (which may require a bootloader unlock code that Huawei no longer provides) and then use a dual SIM tray.
I did the above and my single SIM phone is now a fully functioning dual SIM phone. There's really no difference between the two variants other than software and that tray. The tray alone will not work.
