Wanna ask for the suggestion of best rom + kernel + kernel settings for the most extreme battery performance on our ghost?
(Android version doesn't matter!)
Even tips for a better battery life on stock Lollipop/KitKat would be highly appreciated!
I'm using LineageOS 13 + 3.4.113_mm_x_kernel_v1.5 and battery life has increased A LOT. I was very surprised. Also performance are better!

how many hours screen-on?

For my personal curiosity,I'd like to understand why battery drains off too fast with custom rom and why not with gingerbread? Is it only question of new OS release to consume more battery to work???
Well custom rom requires more
Power than gingerbread to perform better,,, CSR is popular for its newly polished UI, and extra features... This requires more power .. Hence battery drains quicker.

But battery reduces her life about 1/3... It is too much... And galaxy tab has much memory and cpu to support android 4... It isn't clear for me...
CM10 is still under development.
For P1000, Samsung will not develop JB, so no source code will be released for the kernel. Development by CM team will take longer time to perfect.
It is normal that the battery consumption hasn't been perfected by now.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
Power consumption is subjective and also depends on your apps and system settings.
Another big battery drain is your modem version so check which is the best modem for your model.

I had same battery consumption with CM9.1.0...
Battery life isn't subjective... With GB battery lasts 6 day, with JB 2 day...

Ofcourse its subjective numpty. Battery life differs A LOT from person to person depending on how they use their devices, what apps they use, what settings they use, do they OC or UV etc etc etc.
6 days lol? I'll take it you have no friends.
I'm looking for a kernel and custom rom that give me a perfect balance between battery life and performance on my Nexus 6. Thanks for the help.
Bliss pop and elementalx
I use BrokenOS(personal preference, mainly for UI) and Sensei kernel for battery. Its extremely customizable and upstreams the best features and optimizations from other kernels like elementalx and Franco and the likes. He releases it a few days after (or day of) and its extremely customizable. I've used it since release 5. He's currently on release 34
BlissPop and Franco Kernel :good:
I notice significant battery improvement with ElementalX kernel over stock kernel.
first off, kernels do not give you better battery. its a huge misconception. a kernel can help you better your battery, but will not improve your battery. you can get the same improvements by messing with your cpu yourself. battery life is all about how you personally use your device, how you set it up, what kinds of apps you install, and ver much the quality if your phone/data signal. thats it. there is no magic pill(kernel) that you can take to improve your battery life. if you want better battery life, keep away from terribly written apps, and apps that drain your phones resources.

Even then some kernels have customizations and optimizations to help lengthen the battery life. For example different CPU govorners and reduce unneeded clock speed overhead and under clocking can help too with the help of a custom kernel. So yes, poorly written apps and sensors that hog power tend to be the majority of power loss, I still think that the kernels introduce a bit of help too
What mods do you guys run to improve battery life?

There is as such no mod to improve battery life. But just in case if you want to slightly improve your battery life, than you can use Greenify app. Its available on Google Playstore.
So, I still have 4 more days of waiting to be able to unlock my kernel and start this custom ROMs journey.
Has anyone use LKT in the Mi9 already? What do you think about it, did it create noticeable lags, did it increase your battery life drastically?
FDE.AI.... LKT.
All placebo.... IMO

Well FDE.AI actually helped with the usage and performance of an old Redmi 3S, and I sense a little bit less battery consumption using LKT on battery mode on my MI9, specially on wakelocks so.. Who knows?
I've try FDE and my antutu score has been increased to 410k (antutu doesn't really mater)
In real usage SOT is slightly better but i don't know if it's FDE or the new update which increase it.
Which ROM has the best battery life?
I have been using crDROID and the batter life is comparable to the stock MIUI. I tried ArrowOS for a little bit and it seemed to have longer battery life. I didn't use ArrowOS long enough to find out if it did truly have better battery life.
What has been your experience?
Battery life depend on personal use. Which differences with SOT have you seen?
With CrDroid (default kernel) I have between 4-5 hours SOT
imho too short. I want to try sleepy kernel first before I decide another rom

Like I said above, I didn't use ArrowOS long enough to know. But what I do know is that with the screen off, I lose 1% every five-ish minutes with crDROID and MIUI. ArrowOS didn't do that with my limited experience. For SOT, crDROID estimates 7 hours. I believe its more like 5-6, similar to your experience.

I didn't test crDROID.
but I have used Arrowos for 3-6 month it's ok ROOM but sadly no MIUI camera support on it, the battery life is great at the start but get shorter after long use, (maybe because of google play Update??)
"projectsakura" is way better if you want MIUI camera.

Did not try crdroid but I flashed ArrowOS 12L and can't tell any battery drain. Installed it 5 days ago and still have 20 odd per cents of battery left, waiting for the first full charge. I do not use any google apps/ services (gapps or else).
