I used Funk Wizard's instructions to flash OxygenOS 4.0.2 to my rooted OnePlus 3T. The upgrade worked fine, except that the phone wouldn't recognise my SIM card and I couldn't get service (I'm in the UK on Vodafone). I tried going through the installation a second time and there was no change. So I restored my Nandroid backup and now the phone recognises my SIM card again. Does anyone know what might be going wrong with the upgrade? I did a search and there are a few threads where people have had similar problems in the past but I can't work out from those threads if there's a consensus about what the solution is. Would be very grateful for any tips.
Hi, i had the same issue, after i installed the last version of supersu released by chainfire and then everything worked fine, the file name has to begin with SR3, not SR4

I9000XXJPC has become a major headache, and now the sim card won't work with other firmware. The first time I updated via Kies, everything was fine for a little while. After realising it's buggy, I went back to JG4 and renamed nv_data.bin etc..
The second time I installed JPC for a bit of a play around was via Odin, and that went fine, but still buggy firmare. This time when I went back to JG4, the sim card doesn't work properly. It asks for the PIN, sits on "Unlocking Sim Card" for a bit, then asks for the PIN again, saying it's incorrect. After entering the correct pin another 2 or 3 times, TWlauncher appears, but there is no service.
Odin didn't make a backup of nv_data.bin, but I had made a copy myself just in case. Restoring this does allow Kies to see the proper product code, but makes no difference with the sim card.
Is there anything at all I can try? It seems as though flashing JPC via Odin has altered more than just the /efs directory, but I don't know what. It might also be possible that anyone else on JPC will discover the same if they go back to 2.1, but I hope it hasn't done too much damage. I tried another sim card from another network and it's the exact same situation (works only with JPC).
To anyone who hasn't tried I9000XXJPC, don't! It's not worth the hassle.
Basically, sim cards now only works with JPC..what can I do? I have 3-button recovery, so can try just about anything if need be.

Thanks, I read and tried so much but somehow missed that. At least it's a known problem thanks.
Edit: I thought it had something to do with the dates of the files. hmmm now I'm stuck.
Dear experts, I need your help please!
After years of flashing and enjoying the know how in this forum, I got into serious trouble for the first time.
I flashed ICS333, and I guess, my IMEI was lost (0049...). But everything worked fine, so I didn't fix it. After a few weeks I got the known FC-bug of the ROM and reflashed it. The phone boot looped, so I had to do some wiping and reflashing. When I managed it to boot again, it didn't recognize my SIM card anymore, just as if it wasn't there.
Here is what I did already:
Checked the SIM card with another phone: Works fine.
Flashed a stock rom on SGS: SIM still not working.
Restored IMEI via Nitrality. Got a "new" one, different to "0049", but: SIM not working.
Erased the nv-Files in the EFS-Folder. Product Code is VD2 again. It was KOR before, and should be correct now as I am in Germany and Vodafone-Customer. But again: No SIM card detected.
Followed the instructions in the "Restore your IMEI"-Tutorials, even though it is restored already. Used Terminal, BusyBox, Ghost Commander. Didn't help...
As you can see I tried EVERYTHING I could find on the net in the last few days, and I am really exhausted and clueless now. Can anyone help me please!?!?
Please erase this thread. During all the IMEI- and country-code-trouble (that really occured, I swear!) I fixed the problem without knowing it. Because I inserted the SIM the wrong way constantly. This is sooo embarrassing. Shame on me for steeling your time! :/
Thanks for the laugh, this is highly amusing!
THANK YOU!!
I mean literally!! I had exactly the same problem as you! Never would've noticed it if it weren't for your story!
although i feel a little stupid right now
Please help
i have the same problem only i cant fix my imei, after flashing the phone it changed to 00499.. it made no nv_data.bin.bak
If the efs folder havent been backed up, what can i do? I tried changing the nv_data file like some tutorials here explain, but no luck(tried couple of times, it defently not compatible with my galaxy s3), i believe these tutorials are for erlier galaxies.
Please help!
Thank you

Hey guys,
I'm new to this and I have a issue with my phone. This is what happened; I rooted my Exhibit 2 using the instructions on here and proceeded to flash cm10. I backed up on CWM on my phone then proceeded to do a system wipe and flash the ROM. Once it downloaded, I did not have service. I flashed to Slim Bean 4.2.2 and then back to stock ROM, still no service. My IMEI number is intact, fyi. I really need help. Hopefully this salvageable!
*Update* I forgot to mention that my phone won't recognize sim card. I put it into older phones and says Sim SOS, basically no service still. Help greatly appreciated.
well if your sim doesnt get recognized in other phones you may need to get a new sim
What usually causes sim card to end up like that?
i have no idea never happened to me but i would go to tmobile or whoever your carrier is and get a new one. might be 5 bucks and give it a try
So got the new sim card. I now have service. It says I have 4G but i cant download apps from google play or use internet. So this makes me think that there is a problem with either the radio or my EFS. Any suggestions?
Do you guys think I need to get a new modem/radio? If so any suggestions?
after getting my new sim card i couldnt download either, i had to wipe cache with cmw then it worked
Hi,
i received my XT1068 today and started messing around with it.
I flashed TWRP 2.8.0.1 as described in this Thread. I flashed Andro X as described here and afterwards both SIM slots were deactivated.
I tried flashing CWM and Titan Z V2. Everything seems to work except for the SIM cards.
I tried to follow this post , but it didn't change anything. From which firmware exactly do i have to take the files?
I'd be thankful for any help, at this point i just want a working phone., doesn't matter which ROM. But i can't find a working way to restore my phone back to stock firmware either.
/turns out i didn't push the SIM hard enough into the phone somwhere in the process. Flashing the NON-HLOS file did work in the end.
Purchased a SINGLE SIM P8 Lite from Carphone Warehouse (SIM FREE/UNCLOCKED/UNBRANDED). It has “ALE-L21C432B183” firmware and I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone now.
Unfortunately, there is an issue with this phone - battery discharging\draining despite disabling most of the apps and hardly been used…. This not normal at all. I am going to upgrade to Marshmallow to see if it helps, in fact, ideally start with a fresh firmware.
I would appreciate if someone can give me a link to an official Marshmallow Firmware that is compatible with SINGLE SIM UK phone (I am not interested in dual sim). Also, confirm whether I can upgrade from “ALE-L21C432B183” or do I need to do anything else.
Also, would be good if someone can provide a link to the original SINGLE SIM UK firmware, “ALE-L21C432B183” or something else.
Many Thanks
You have the same version as me. The phone is actually dual sim. You can either have one sim and an SD card inside the same slot, or lose the SD card for another sim instead.
I have been struggling for weeks now trying to get Marshmallow installed on the B183 with no luck at all. I hope you have better luck than me. If you get the update working, please reply back in here so I can copy how you did it
braders1986, I will try dual SIM later as now the battery drain is annoying me. lol
Installed ALE-L21C432B551 from http://m.huawei.com/itmobile/consumer/support/downloads/index.htm (just search for P8 lite, it says its for Single SIM) and gonno check if it improves battery performance at all. Unlocked it as well (although seems to be different method, messed up 2/3 times but reinstalled it). I used the force method to install.
