So XDA user,
Here is my story ....
After i receive the device I bricked it yeah..... And I managed to unbrick the device again. But then I had a problem with storage showing only 32gb that I fixed tho just redone the unbrick guide and not booting into system and flash all stuff.
So but now the big problem is I don't know if this heating is normal it happen on scrolling (g+...) and loading times when app launches or background processes. I tried 5 custom Roms to compare and I tested it on stock software (6.01 and 7.0) now I am running stock oos 7.0. And this are my sensor temp I get.
Is this NORMAL or is my device in the hardware way defect.
It would be cool if users can compare the values and show me those.
I am measure it in that way put g+ and cpuz in recents and scrolling in g+ fast and then slow again and so on switching fast to cpuz and then make fast and screenshot.
The values are not constant on the high values it's more like they jumping hard between 45-79 c
Now i even reached while scrolling fast in g+ because i searched for a thread this temp ! 90c....
This is not at all normal. My temp max goes to 45 while gaming.
Try flash the stock ROM. And don't use phone for an hour or so and then see.

Hey guys,
Quick question for you all. I was thinking this morning about overclocking and its advantages/disadvantages
and one question in particular erked me.
Say for instance there are two Moto G 2014s. A and B.
Moto A:
@1200mhz
@1200mv
and Moto B:
@1400mhz
@1200mv
Will the battery life be the same as they are at the same MV or will the clock speed effect battery life anyway?
Thanks in advance,
Chris.
good question....
Not know... in theory no, but will be more hot, that hot may cause more energy consumption.
And probable lag making the cpu throttle down to stay under CPU max temp threshold, under heavy use.
Running games with the CPU @1,2 already make it be very hot @1,4 will be even hotter.
If you test let us know... will try to learn about it, if i find something let you know. :good:
---------- Post added at 07:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:32 PM ----------
look like yes see here
In my opinion even with the same voltage level, the energy consumption will increase a bit. Higher power means more hot => more energy consumption.

Thanks for your reply. I do not have a moto g 2nd gen yet but I am getting one on friday. I will be sure to do some testing indeed.
it seems you might be right though. Increasing the clockspeed will increase heat therfore decreasing battery.
any one tell me what the best rom or kernel or stock rom version give me best battery life
and give me feedback screenshot screen on time battery
i tested every rom and kernel,i dont care about anything but battery life and temp,i say you should use M-ROM 1.9.5 an use zachs kernel 2.4.9,another kernels have lots of battery draining.this is my comment and i hope i could help

I know it's preference but I get the feeling we both like our phones to run the same way. Any help would be appreciated thanks .
Best Kernel
Hi can someone post a link for the best kernel to use with MRom, I tried the Z4_Z3P-DSDS_SK_Perm_v5.11_III.2_4_9_ctl_X_ivy_dual however the moment I flashed it the phone got crazy hot even after adjusting the frequencies also experienced problems with certain apps closing, camera doesn't even last seconds before it turns off, I had to flash back stock kernel to get function-ability. Not sure if that was the correct version for me to flash so I'm asking or if there is any tips to making it work. Thanks :good:

So I installed the latest sun kernel yesterday (v2.6), and had the phone running an entire day with it. In all honesty it was pretty smooth I still haven't noticed any bugs, lags, force-closes, etc. The only thing is a slight difference with temperatures compared to stock kernel see in pic (stock kernel left, sun kernel right). I have placed pics to show the differences, as for battery life I haven't been able to compare them as of yet. However I can say using stock kernel with minimal usage over a period of 9 hrs after full charge I got down to 57% so I will test the same with this latest sun kernel. The only other thing I am curious about are the CPU's, reason being with stock kernel the 4 big cores always showed offline using Kernel Auiditor and I can't adjust the frequencies. With this sun kernel it's the same situation. The 4 big cores are always offline and just remain that way at start up one of them becomes active for a couple of minutes with a frequency of 384MHZ then goes offline. Any insights as to why this is so would be appreciated. Any feedback will be appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

See below. The first screenshot was my battery with stock kernel after 9 hrs of minimal usage. The other 2 are with sun kernel after 9 hrs so as you can see there isn't a huge difference. So battery wise its not that bad.
What are you guys opting to do in regards to these settings? I'm trying out the full power of the phone so I'm trying out running performance mode and the highest resolution screen settings. Not sure how battery will react - we'll see.
Any thoughts on how much impact it has running these settings vs. not?
I ran yesterday at Max screen resolution but not full brightness and battery did not do to bad about 5 1/2 hours of SOT
---------- Post added at 07:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:55 PM ----------
I mean what's the point in having a phone with great resolution if you're not going to use it?
Running my phone at max resolution and the battery lasts me all day. I usually go with optimized performance because the phone's been chewing up everything I've thrown at it and I haven't seen the need for a boost yet.

One reason that I can think of - not everything on the phone needs that amazing resolution, so why not save some battery life when the resolution is not needed?
I think Tasker may be useful here. I'm guessing it could switch modes and resolutions on an app by app basis. I'll start tinkering.
When I use customs rom then u face when I charging my mobile
The phone will heating too much more then 48 degree . what I do help me.
Its the rom problem. Try switching to another rom if you want to fix heating issue. OR, ask the dev to fix the problem.

Not a Issues, it's actually a feature. They enabled Fastcharging, which is resulting in heat-up

Either disable Fastcharging options via Kernel aduitor app or revert back to MIUI. Oreo are optimised for Better user experience... Fast Paced life. And If it bothers you, You can stay from it. But 44-45° is Normal while charging if Fastcharging is enabled. Don't use Phone while charging. And Still you don't like it. Do as above. Also FYI, Stock charger will have better timing with Fastcharging enabled.

I thought its the rom issue . Because im using fastcharge in miui 9 using clarity kernel v2.6 and didnt found any heating up issue like you said.
Edit : maybe because im still using nougat.
And like you say, oreo are optimized for fast paced life. [emoji16]

Did you enabled Fastcharging via Kernel aduitor app when using Clarity. As Most probably,The dev didn't enabled it by default. Or check the current drawn while charging bia Ampere app in Your ROM. After 1500amp it will Heatup

Call regarding was available In 9.1
Its still working in 10
But in 10.1.. its disabled
Call recording has been disabled due to Google policies about user's privacy....
Those who has updated to EMUI 10.1, Did you noticed that battery drain has been increased?
On the previous Firmware I had 12 hours screen time before each recharging , but now my battery is 42% and only have 4 hours of screentime....
I just want to know is this a public problem or my phone has problem?
Thanks

for me..its worse..battery consumption is my enemy..
To find a solution for battery draining problem, I surfed the internet and others suggest me to do ( wipe cache ) in Recovery mode and I feel it really helped ...
As I told you yesterday I had 42% battery with 4 hours screen time, exactly at that time did ( wipe cache) and right now, I have 9% of battery with 8 hours screen time... That was huge improvement
I will recharge my battery and give you the new result
However huawei has admitted to the battery problem and it may release new update for fixing it
Thanks

I don't have any battery problems with 10.1
Hi
Last two days I tried to use the phone exactly the same way I used on the previous Firmware and the result shows that the battery life ( after doing wipe cache) is almost the same and the small difference may be for the optimization of system performance... As I said on the previous Firmware I had 12 hours screen time and now I have 11 hours and 18 minutes
overall I guess wipe cache will fix your battery draining problem
