Set alarm clock with no vibration or custom parameters - Tasker Tips & Tricks

I've managed for tasker to set the alarm clock at a certain time, but i still haven't figured out how to create it with custom parameters.
I want to create the alarm with a specific tune and no vibration. For what I've undertood tasker creates an alarm with the default settings of the alarm app, am i right? If that's true, i've figured out how to change the default tune, but i can't find out where it takes the vibration setting from.
I've also tried to create an alarm entry with the parameters I want, but then tasker overwrites that entry with its parameter, like every time it runs the task it creates a new alarm.
Can someone help me?

Same problem!
Does anybody have a solution?

I'm still looking for one, haven't figured it out yet

Have you tried using the beta version?

No i haven't tried the beta yet because I need the phone for work. When I have time I'll try it on the gs2. Besides the fact that the beta uses or not an already created alarm without resetting the settings, I'm interested in finding how to change the default settings, because thst could be useful also in other scenario

[app] Clever Alarm

Clever Alarm is one of the most advanced alarms for WP7. You will never oversleep!
The app has Metro style, it´s very easy to use and still free! Clever Alarm has several
types of alarm (Math, Shaking, Sorting,...) or you can choose "Nap". You can use Clever
Alarm like a bedside alarm clock. You can select your own music from the library.
Clever Alarm also runs under lock screen or you can disable the auto lock screen feature.
You can also change the color of the clock (the clock can be either analog or digital).
Clever Alarm dims the screen automatically, shows date, supports the snooze function,
supports 12/24 hours format and much more. Try it now!
The next version will bring monitoring sleep cycles and much more.

I like the math idea, I think it's a great way to ensure that the user wakes up. Just installed.
Thanks for you reply. After your testing the app, please write your comments, suggestions, problems (etc.) with the app.
Hacked!
I just minimized app and silent. Nice design, good functions, but this is bad. When I wake up, then I want sleep and don't think about the calculation.
Maybe you will need add alarm on background? but it is contrary to Marketplace the conditions, I think.
Check my app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127159
I don´t understand this sentece: "When I wake up, then I want sleep and don't think about the calculation" ...what you mean? can you write some your notes, comments,... for the app? thx
Ok, I will try
With your App:
Alarm!!!
I wake up;
Just click one key: Back, Start or Search;
Alarm is stoping;
I continue to sleep.
Your app is hacked just with one key click.
With my App:
Alarm!!!
I wake up;
Just click one key: Back, Start or Search;
Is't working - alarm still playing; (alarm is working on original music player);
I try click virtuals: stop, pause, backward, forward buttons - ALARM STILL PLAYING!
I need type code: 4815162342
I just typed true code:
Alarm is stoping. I wake up and go to in the shower or Just continue to sleep.
Hm... I'm just hacked my app self - click volume down to 0 (minimum) and alarm volume is very low. I NEED FIX IT!
I understand, but it´s again marketplace conditions... have you another tips for the app? what do you like in alarm?
I like it
Sent from my Samsung Focus S using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
i had some problems with the app, it drained my battery over night from 100% to zero, my phone was from midnight 100% to 9:00 at 0% and off. i set my alarm on this app and the digital clock appeared i locked the phone, and go to sleep, wake up with no battery, nothing. the phone was fully drained. i then charged my battery and tested again, and the same thing, from 12:00 till 15:00h my battery was drained, under lockscreen. that is not how it gonna to be or? my opinion is when you in lockscreen the app should have something like standby, and battery saving feature, and not battery drain. i then uninstalled the app and my battery lasts over 48hours. the app has a good concept, but i would like to have some times set, like on the integrated app of wp7, and just to activate them by one tap. and to have multiple alarms memorized there somewhere...
hi,
thx for your reply...next week I will work on this app and I will try solve this problem with consuming a lot of battery... And have you another tips what you want in next version?
Great app, thanks

just the one tip to have multiple times set. like in the integrated alarm of wp7. if you set an alarm that then will be stored on some other screen where all alarms clock have been set. or maybe 20. than just a button like on the integrated to activate that alarm which you want... so that you don't type every time the same time... just look at the integrated alarm clock with its times...
Excellent thread

[Q] Change/set alarm clock sound?

Greetings all,
So I just got a new S III mini and I really love it. There is just one tiny thing I just can't grasp at the moment, and that is how to change alarm clock sound/melody. I am unable to see where I can do that. I've gone through all settings I can find, but nothing is related to alarm clock.
I have not rooted my phone, as I am yet uncertain as to if I really want/need to or not - at present time.
I've used the same ringtone, alarm sound and sms sound for the better part of the last 8 years or so, and I have no wish to change that any time soon.
So if anyone want to be so kind as to enlighten me how I should go about to add it to my phone: what format should be used? Where do I store it? And for the love of grumpy cat, how do I find a setting/list where I can chose a default audio file for alarms? Oh, yeah, I'm using stock alarm clock. If someone know of a really good app where this can be achieved with simplicity then feel free to enlighten me (I do NOT want to test all apps that are out there just to find a good one; would rather just keep the default one and never change )
Thanks in advance,
/Martin
Go to the programs and open Clock.
Press the cross on the upper right corner to create a new alarm.
When the new alarm screen opens, you can see a "more" bar at the bottom.
Pressing that will reveal more options including the alarm tone one.
Going there you can find an "add" button at the bottom of the alarm tone list.
Click that and select your favorite sound/music.
:victory:
Wow, I really feel so stupid at the moment! I've pressed that "more" bar so many times before, but since I never could scroll below it (without clicking it, as I now see) I never attempted to scroll down once I've clicked it the first time!!
I'll be right back, just gonna go and smash my head against the wall a couple of times!
adb push /path/to/alarm-tone /system/media/audio/alarms/alarm-tone

Trouble with 3rd Party Alarm Apps and Custom Alarm Sounds in Marshmallow?

Anyone else encountering issues with custom alarm sounds?
It's already been confirmed by app developers that most (all?) 3rd party alarm apps no longer work because of Marshmallow's doze deep sleep feature (more on that later). However, in moving my alarms over to the stock Marshmallow Clock app (which does work), I can't seem to bring any of my custom alarm sounds over. With previous OS versions, I just copied custom Alarm sounds to the appropriate folder in either internal or external storage (it used to be under \media\audio\) under Alarms, Ringtones, and Notifications folders. Although those folders are still present on the Nexus 6, and do work for 3rd party apps as well as stock apps like Messenger, Calendar, Phone ringtones, etc., they don't work for the stock Clock -- the only alarms that are available are the original stock ones.
So I tried to move my custom Alarm sounds to the system partition and encountered an out of space error, so I deleted some of the stock alarms and replaced them with my own. That works, but won't work for waking up to music because the music files are just too big to go on the system partition.
With regard to the 3rd party alarm clock apps no longer working, I figured out a work-around that seems to be successful so far. What happens is the alarm clock apps can't wake up the phone when Marshmallow is in doze mode (which usually happens overnight). I tried setting the app's notifications as a priority, and I also set the app to not be battery optimized, but it didn't work and the apps' developers have confirmed the same. Anyway, my work-around is to set an alarm in the stock Clock app to go off a minute before the 3rd-party app alarm does. The alarm in the stock Clock app can even be silent. What I'm guessing is happening is that the stock Clock app alarm brings the phone out of doze and it takes longer than a minute to go back into doze, so the 3rd-party alarm will sound.
Anyway, any suggestions for getting the custom alarm folders working again would be appreciated, but it sounds like it might be a genuine bug in the OS.
I have no issues with Alarm plus. It works without fail and doze doesnt effect it.
All the app developers need to do is follow the guide lines
Standard AlarmManager alarms (including setExact() and setWindow()) are deferred to the next maintenance window.
If you need to set alarms that fire while in Doze, use setAndAllowWhileIdle() or setExactAndAllowWhileIdle().
Alarms set with setAlarmClock() continue to fire normally — the system exits Doze shortly before those alarms fire.

Are you referring to Alarm Clock Plus? I can't find any app named Alarm Plus. Reviewers running Marshmallow are claiming that Alarm Clock Plus alarms are no longer working. I'm using Alarm Clock Xtreme, and the alarms are definitely not working unless I use my work-around.

No prob. I live on 3 hours of sleep a night so i need a reliable alarm clock. This one has never failed me.
Unfortunately it turns out that even Alarms Plus Millenium isn't currently working with Marshmallow. The developer replied to my email and said that he's working on an update but that until then you have to have the phone plugged in and charging for the alarms to sound. This is because Google said that the dose mode is not activated when the phone is plugged in or moving.
I still bought the app though and will be switching to using it because he's the first alarm clock developer who actually responded to me with at least some knowledge of how to fix his app to be compatible with Marshmallow. The rest of them all seemed to have no idea and no ETA on an update to fix their apps.

That would make since as I charge my device over night as I sleep. Never occurred to me that if I didn't charge it that way it wouldn't go off.

You're still better off with Alarm Plus Millennium over any of the other alarm clock apps, IMHO. I've contacted four or five of the most popular ones, and their respective devs have no idea how, when, or if they'll be able to fix their app. The Alarm Plus Millennium dev says he's about 3 days out from releasing a new version that will work. So, thanks again for recommending Alarm Plus Millennium. It didn't show up in any of my searches on the Play Store for alarm clock apps, so I would've never found it otherwise.

Yeah he is really good about that. I worked with him to kill a bug about 4 months ago. Was very responsive and willing to help. Glad you found an app that works for you.
FYI, Caynax Alarm Clock (free and pro versions) works in Marshmallow now.

[Solved] Alarm 9 min later on lockscreen

Hello,
Came from my previous post here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lineage/help/alarm-displayed-9-min-lockscreen-t4018779
On my lockscreen, I have always an alarm icon set to 9 minutes later (see screenshot in my previous post). For example, at 15h09, the alarm icon is 15h19 ; at 08h10, the alarm is 08h19. This bug appears only when Tasker is enabled. When I disabled TAsker, no more this strange alarm icon 9 min later on lockscreen. Please, how to keep Tasker enabled and avoid this alarm icon from it?
Try disabling reliable alarms in preferences.

That's it. Solved. But it seems to be require to allow Tasker to work fine in background.

Yes, that's true. It's a trade off. You can try setting reliable alarm to when off.
The alarm is a mechanism to prevent android from killing tasker beyond just doze.
