I was stuck on 200 for a while now trying 210. (200 was fine with a sharpness fix, but as i dont have it now, 210 looks better)
Also depends on the font you are using.
EDIT: Add a poll maybe? (no idea if that will help to get some opinion)
btw, is there any apps can change the DPI?
it seems that my fonts have some kind of blur...

[Q] Change LCD Density

Hey guys,
I've tried to change my density with lcd density changer (phone is rooted). After restart I've got a bricked phone which I was able to recover.
So I was wondering if there is any possibility to change the density, because 240 is to much for me
Greetings Nico

hi, i do manually, root the phone, then with a root explorer or es explorer go to /system and search a build.prop, open it and search a line "ro.sf.lcd_density=240" and modify, be careful because its a start-up file
if you have a lg home, its no compatible with other resolutions, i recommends adw home
regards
You can use a App called LCD Density Change or another called LCDDensity
You need root on phone and busybox.
I don't understand the meaning of change the LCD density... can you explain it to me?

LCD Density controls the resolution of the screen. Smaller density means Bigger resolution and Bigger density Smaller resolution.
Yeah, the question is why anybody want worse resolution in a lcd.
As far as I know, lcds are optimized to native resolution, and using other doesn't offer the same quality.

It's supposed to make your LCD look better.
I've tried it on Wildfire before, it does help a little if your screen res is really low.
But on OB, i think it's already good enough.
I've set my resolution from 240 to 170 because I needed 6 lines and rows on my launcher an I really don't like the huge icons an fonts on 240 resolution
Help Please

I seem to have bricked my phone after changing my density too. How were you able to recover. When the device is on, it doesn't recognize correctly in Windows. I can't seem to boot into recovery. Not able to view device as a hard drive. Any advice? Thanks.
I'm using 200 on Zeus right now, font and icon is too big on 240
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
Use lcd density modder pro from play.
I'm using the pro version because Google play would have compatibility issues if i wouldn't :what:
So if you want to change use that one
LCD Density Modder Pro: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.birdapi.android.dpipro
Boot in recovery usind adb
(Search how to)
Or reflash everything as if it was new

New ICS: How to change TW DPI?

I'm liking the smoothness of TW...but when I change to 280DPI the scaling is all wrong. How do I change row/column settings, or get TW to look right on 280DPI? Thanks!
Edit: Same with Smemo when adding text notes..the lines are all bunched up and wrong! Any way to change all this?

DPI Change and SView Cover

Hope someone can help.
I have changed my lcd density through my build prop.
I'm using app settings in xposed and changed the sview Cover app to 480 but there is a black bar at the bottom.
Anyone know how to fix this?

there is a semi solution for this
usually people use rom toolbox to change the entire dpi.
first you must return the dpi to the normal 640 in rom toolbox
then in app settings Xposed change com.android.systemui dpi to 480
and then go to Android System (Android) and change the dpi back to 640
don't forget each time you must turn on the app setting and save after the change
this might effect some of the apps and show it in normal size but it will fix your problem
plus you can change any app's dpi to 480 from app settings later and make it small again.

I used xposed setting to change my dpi and I used it to specify original dpi of 640 for the sviewcover app but the black bar still persists.

you're right, I have a galaxy note 4, I'm sorry
I'm not sure about your original dpi though, but the method should work

Sview DPi

Anyway to change the Sview DPI to stock without having to change the systemui dpi? Using App settings, i am unable to find the sview package, but i am able to change the dpi by changing the systemui package. But that is something I want to avoid.

I also have had that issue, where it's cropped on the right and bottom.
I don't think sview is its own apk.
I believe you can. What dpi are you trying to set for everything thing else?

450
Stock dpi is 640, so I imagine the sviews screen should be the same.
When the dpi is set to 520 the sview screen is cropped.
