hello,
I noticed gold versions metal frame around the phone is also gold so does that mean it has a gold paint instead of pure metal frame like in white or black variants ? does it chip ?
P.S : seems like mi5 gold has 2 color variants.. one with the metal frame and other one with the full gold frame..

The silver HTC One is the natural color of aluminum but what about the black model? Is it the same technique as HTC One S? Or it is just the black color being coated on the aluminum frame? Is it easy to be scratched? Thank you
I believe that it is just black being coated onto the aluminum, and have heard that it is sort of easy to get scratched, oh and I have seen that it is a fingerprint magnet, unlike the silver one.

It's anodized black, essentially, a thin layer of the top of the aluminium has a whole lot of tiny tiny holes in it and they has a dye in it. since it is so thin, when it scratches, it shows the undyed aluminium underneath it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anodizing
Aluminium anodizing is usually performed in an acid solution which slowly dissolves the aluminium oxide. The acid action is balanced with the oxidation rate to form a coating with nanopores, 10-150 nm in diameter.[6] These pores are what allow the electrolyte solution and current to reach the aluminium substrate and continue growing the coating to greater thickness beyond what is produced by autopassivation.[8] However, these same pores will later permit air or water to reach the substrate and initiate corrosion if not sealed. They are often filled with colored dyes and/or corrosion inhibitors before sealing. Because the dye is only superficial, the underlying oxide may continue to provide corrosion protection even if minor wear and scratches may break through the dyed layer.

Both (all three?) colours are anodised aluminium alloy of undisclosed ingredients.
Aluminium oxidises as soon as it is subjected to air, so you only know the colour of aluminium oxide.
Anyway, when you anodise aluminium and its alloys, you encourage a deeper layer of oxide to build above and below the original surface, this oxide is harder than plain aluminium oxide and porous; allowing a dye to be taken up, and then usually a sealant on top.
I have decided to buy this Sexy Phone
But confused to choose the variant white or black
Black version is prone to fingerprints and white one is prone to dust and grease :\
White version gives a premium feel though !!
So people please pour in your suggestions
Thanks in advance !!!
Cheers !!
I like the white one. As you said, it gives more of a premium feel. The metal frame also looks much better in the white version than in the black one.
On the other hand, the display looks better when turned off in the black one.
The front part of the phone is of glass so it will not catch much dust. One thing is that the back scratches easily if you drop your phone a lot and this shows a lot more in white than in black.
I have the black one and i like the color i use it with a matte screen protector so no fingerprint problem on the front side and the back cover is not like a glossy black so both sides no problem.
I also like the white one but the aluminium frame is grey (as you would expect but not the glossy aluminium grey) as in the black one the frame is painted black like the rest of the phone giving it a smoother look.
I like my choice and i would recommend the black one but watch out if the frame paint gets damaged by a fall it will look awful.
That's what i think thank you .
Hi im thinking of using the Black Orzly Tempered Glass on my soft gold version and i fear that it will not look good.
Does anyone did that ?
and does this version https://www.amazon.de/Orzly%C2%AE-Glasdisplayschutzfolie-Schutzfolie-Panzerglas-abgerundeten/dp/B017HB1FVC/ref=sr_1_2?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1473604640&sr=1-2&keywords=tempered+glass+oneplus+3
have Glue in the middle or only on the black surface ?
thanks for your help
I never even considered that!!! Just order the normal one for me and a gold one for the Mrs and brought 2 of these tgsp for them...
The gold phone should be gold all over imo but that however would still not make a difference with these protectors.
In answer to ur glue question its just the black top and bottom and also the black side borders that have glue
I wouldn't recommend it. I've got a white Pleson sitting here and it doesn't cover the black fully.

Does anyone here have the Alpine White Galaxy Note 9?
What are your impressions of the white variant? Does the color suit the design? Does it have a quality premium look to it?
I would like a unique color but at the same time, I want a color that looks classy and premium for the design of the phone. (I think the Note 9 looks best in dark colors. My favorite are the copper and blue but my brother already has the blue variant so I don't want to get the same and the copper isn't available with the Snapdragon SoC that I want. That leaves black, purple or white)
Looking at pictures and videos of the white variant on the internet, I think the rear panel looks okay but not really very premium (too white, like an appliance) while the aluminum sides just look cheap.
Overall, from looking at it through my computer screen, it looks very plain and less classy/premium than most of the other colors.
The problem is, pictures and videos don't always give a true reflection of the experience in reality.
Do the aluminum sides, top and bottom have a shiny chamfer along the edges?
No owners of the white variant?
I have seen the White Variant of the Note 9. It really is nothing special just a Note 9 with white backpanel, white antenna lines and a white S-Pen.
