Help with mi 5 Error 7 - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

i am trying to install lineage os 14.1 on my mi 5 but i keep getting error 7,how to i solve it,and my phone is stuck on bootloop.
i first wiped cache, system, internal storage, data and then tried to install the lineage os zip file and gapps.zip using twrp 3.0.2-3 but i keep getting error 7.
how to solve it?
tnx

Go into twrp again, format your phone, make sure your rom was dowloaded competely. Then, flash the rom, get back and flash gapps(recommemd: arm64, 7.1, pico) and reboot system then enjoy.

i have tried that...same result

I've done this for at least 10 times and ever get any errors. As you describe, you did not format you phone by typing 'yes' to do format, then put the rom into your phone from pc and flash.

Important notes:
* Coming from M, flashing a N based firmware is * required *, otherwise installation will fail. Download the latest dev fastboot package directly from Xiaomi and flash it prior to installing LineageOS or, alternatively, download and install one of the latest custom packages containing firmware only (at your own risk).
* Starting from Android 7.1.2 based builds (since April 18th), the minimal required firmware version is MIUI 7.4.11 (read more here).
* GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
* Formatting data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage) is a must if MIUI was previously installed and device was encrypted.

Kenzo/Kate Firmware **UpToDate-7.3.9-Download**

Kenzo/Kate Firmware by @reemar
The newest firmware there is, made by me:
- it came from latest version of global beta by miui.
- extracted firmware and create zip u to flash at Recovery!
Q/A:
It is VoLTE working on this firmware?
It should work now, but i can't test It becouse my provider has no VoLTE. Try and tell me!
Any risk of relocking bootloader flashing this firmware?
Absolutely not. NO emmc_appsboot.mbn = NO BOOTLOADER F****ups
aka - it will not relock your bootloader
Why i need this firmware?/What it is good for?
If you want to flash a CM13/14/14.1/AOSP N rom, you need to flash this updated firmware first.
it FIXED and improves Signal, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Magnetic sensors in Redmi Note 3
For what reason i have to choose this firmware instead of another one?
If you have flashed another firmware, you probably have those issues: battery percentage not working, camera autofocus not working, low signal strenght. If not, stay on your firmware.
BUT, this firmware is the great and latest, so u probably should ONLY flash that Firmware
Where are you getting it from?
I'm extracting the firmware from official beta/developers release of xiaomi miui.
i'm taking the firmware only and give it to you to be use, on any rom u want!
How to install:
-reboot to recovery
-wipe whatever u want, (i wipe dalvik and cache cos i'm dirty )
-mount everything u can tick such as firmware and system
-install firmware
-afterwards factory reset is recommended although not must cos we R dirty
-install your rom/gapps/kernel whatever
-reboot and say thanks!!
-Enjoy
Dictionary:
Dirty = dirty flash, not wipe everything, aka 'flash over' cos we lazy to backup and restore stuff's
KENZO = the official global version of Redmi note 3 SD650 and its 150mm height
KATE = the Special Edition version of Redmi note 3 SD650 and its 152mm height
SD = snapdragon motherboard, come on guys, u suppose to know that..

Download the latest fastboot version of the latest firmware. Compare to see what's in these flashable firmwares and check the Images directory of the fastboot firmware. Copy them over to the flashable zip. That's probably the easiest way.

Maybe the easiest way to do that by downloading custom miui rom like multirom, xiaomi.eu, epic, etc as ur wish then, extract only the firmware-update and meta inf, inside meta inf look for updater-script and edit it with any kind of text based app editor like notepad++ or else, or the meta inf you can take from the strix cm14 firmware, or psyman, etc. Finally repack it again, using rar, 7zip, or else, with .zip format. And enjoy.

MIUI beta 7.2.16 firmware is identical to beta 7.2.9 firmware. Those who have already flashed 7.2.9 don't need to flash 7.2.16.

Installation/Upgrade information:
TWRP

Magisk or addonsu
First time installing crDroid to your i9300, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running a proper working TWRP Recovery
- Boot into Recovery
- Wipe Dalvik / ART cache, Cache, System, Data [, Internal Storage and Micro SD card](*)
- Flash crDroid zip
- Flash opengapps zip
- Flash Magisk or addonsu (for root)
- Reboot
- Install Magisk Manager (for root)
(*): Wipe the Internal Storage and the Micro SD card is not necessary but I prefer do that when I install a major update (in instance when I update from Nougat to Pie) or when I install a different ROM (in instance when I change from LineageOS to crDroid). It' a my choice...
Upgrading from earlier pie version of crDroid:
- Update to the last stable working TWRP Recovery
- Boot into Recovery
- Wipe Dalvik / ART cache, Cache and System
- Flash crDroid zip
- Flash opengapps zip
- Flash Magisk or addonsu (for root)
- Reboot
- Update to the last stable Magisk Manager (for root)

Eh eh... This is a good question.
This ROM is built by using more or less 750 repositories:
-) 7 of them are related to the device
-) 4 of them, for now, are crDroid official repositories modified by me to create this Unofficial version
-) 740 repositories are untouched
So, at the end, I think that all the unofficial crDroid ROM for i9300 are quite similar... To know the differences we only have to compare the commits in these 15/20 repositories.
My goals for the next closer releases are activate an unofficial OTA support, compile the sources with an optimized toolchains and optimize the device code...
But I'm not a professional programmer... I do it only in my spare time...

In this crDroid ROM is enabled "Android GO": an optimized version of Android (less features!) thought for old or entry-level smartphones (<1 GB RAM and less than 4 cores) as our i9300.
I'm sorry but on Android GO the "notification access" feature is disabled by design.
I think that with this device is impossible to run a standard version of Android P without lag or other performance issue. We have to remember that this phone was realized on May 2012 with Android I (4.0.4)!!!

All ROM that I know are switching direct into battery charging mode (you see the battery symbol on display for a moment), if you're plugging in the charger and the phone is turned off.

Yes, you are right in 1/ and 2/ but I start to answer you regarding 3/: I always install the ROM by using an OTG cable and a USB key so I never use Internal Storage or Micro SD.
Regarding 1/ and 2/: when I install a "new" ROM (I'm talking about a major release update or a different "brand") I prefer start with a very clean situation... This is my opinion so... I usually wipe all! (After made a bakup!)
However I'll modify this part in the first post to clarify... Thanks...

Just got the rom seems good so far but it's like most pie roms for this device, some lags here and there but works. Not ready for daily driver but useable I guess. Keep it up and the incremental updates on this rom and it will be stable in no time!

Thanks for your response how to do a clean flash as I read I shouldn't wipe system so please tell me
Who said you to not wipe system ??
Go to advanced wipe(twrp)
And wipe following partitions:-
Data
Cache
Dalvik
System
Vendor
(Other if you're following some particular installation of a rom)
Now go to twrp and install
Stock twrp flashable rom of k20p
Or
Flash EU rom
And you are good to go.
Also follow the steps for the rom you're installing, given in the rom thread.

To install a kernel,
In twrp Goto install
Then
install img file
Choose the kernel img file
And choose install as boot img
Note :- many Custom kernels doesn't work with Miui so always look if it supports Miui Rom or not, otherwise it may not boot up properly.
If somehow you ended up in bootloop,
Choose the Stock Boot img (kernel) , or boot img of the rom you're using, and install it, so that device can boot.
Sent from my Redmi K20 Pro using Tapatalk
After messing things up flash the latest official fastboot ROM for your phone, for you this is the Indian ROM.
Follow this guide to flash it.
https://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?guide=2
If you look at this on a mobile browser it will probably be blank, view it on a PC, or change your browser setting to view it in desktop mode.
This is the best way to restore to a clean system.
Ignore anyone who tells you to wipe system. It is virtually never needed. If someone tells you to wipe system, this tells you that person does not know what they are talking about, they are just repeating bad information, so ignore them.
Unless you know you have a specific need to flash a custom kernel, don't bother. The stock kernel is good enough for 99.9% of people.
Also read posts before following them. If you read the 'unlock the power of sd855' post, you'll see everyone else rubbishes the claims of the OP.

Actually i dont use sim , the reason is my imei is blocked in my country .my phone is not registered in my country.
So i use just wifi on this j7 prime g610f .for internet stuff
Is the performance in games good?
I play call of duty
edit: I've been testing it, and the truth is that it works very well... but it has random resets and it also restarts within seconds of making a call.
without those errors it would be my daily rom
