Same problem
I'm in the UK and still no update. Not sure if it's landed in the UK for anyone to be honest. All previous updates have been OTA and I've not tried to flash anything or root my phone. On the Three network. Still on 4.1 and EVA-L09C432B166
The rollout of V7 for the P9 in the UK is really weird... Some people have it and some dont. A guy on here said he got the update & was with Three and in the UK. Here we have someone saying the exact opposite.
Can anyone work out this complex rollout method?
I bought mine from O2, It was Unlocked and Unbranded. I too am waiting for the update although mine is currently on EVA-L09C432B182

I'm on O2 UK too in the UK. No update for me either. I am on LO9C40B190. I emailed Huawei and got the usual speel about we understand your frustrations blah blah. They said they have released the update and it is now down to your carrier to release the update. Funny how O2 blame Huawei and then Huawei blame the carrier. I would just be happy to update manually with with a clear guide that should be provided and supported by Huawei.
Its rolling in batches(30000 i think)
But not via normal "settings->update" options but via HiCare, early access. So check that out few times a week. I got mine few weeks ago when I noticed info from HiCare.
I think its still in RC mode, so its not released fully.
PS. Please dont use such big font, especially in that style, I think even kids would not use ComicSans... especially in XDA forum...
So I think we just have to wait

So are you saying that Settings-Update is useless? The last OTA update I got (to B182) was thru this.
If I go into HiCare and select "Service", "OS update early adopters" it says "No Updates avialable"
If I go into HiCare and select "Me", "Check for updates" after checking it ells me "The current version is up to date"
Seems like Huawei are really confusing the hell out of people and making it as complicated as possible...
O2 are just as useless!
Apple have this properly sorted in that when its out, its out for everyone.
Can I ask everyone on O2 UK to email Huawei to ask about updates. If enough people ask they might lean on O2 to get there act together and release it.

I didnt said its useless. Read whole post. I said that right now its in RC mode(""Release Candidate"", its version after beta just before official release). I said that because its look like that, im not expert in that topic.
And no Huawei dont confuse people, its more about XDA and we(users) confuse each other, because If official update would be OFFICIAL, you would get it via normal update release.
But right now its not official, just like name suggest, its: ""OS update early adopters"". So its LIMITED to batch of devices every few weeks(i think, its just look like that).
Because that how I got last update, via that option, just like that I checked HiCare and saw notification that there is early update for 30000 users.
Not to mention that if you have branded phone from operator... Huawei actually have nothing to do with your update, because... guess what? you bought branded phone so operator is responsible for your updates! Simple as HeII.
Also dont compare Android update to Apple update, because:
1. Apple have just one model of phone and tablet with about 4 version supported right now(older devices)
2. They have the same system design and functions, beside few separate features of newer devices.
3. Apple use their own chip, and have really small amount to things to update in terms of hardware
4. Android is open system used by about 200 companies that use dozens of different chips, thousands different component and thousand different system design and style.
5. Huawei compared to other brands its not that bad, and I actually rather wait few months to have polished system than, for example other companies that throw update "just to be first" and then they need to send dozen of fixes for major component of system.
Also we should get real, Android 6 is not that bad, so I seriously dont understand your hysteric desire for update.
Honestly after I updated to EMUI 5... i dont see real difference from 4.1.1 beside few new themes and few different(and actually weird) placement of few buttons.
Honestly you will spend 99% time using separate apps and games from market, so beside different number of system you will not see difference.
Thanks Akinaro for explaining that. Makes complete sense now.
I guess we just need to chill and wait for the "Official OTA release"
I'm more than happy with v6, however, when you see videos of the latest and greatest... You get tempted & impatient!
still nothing

Yesterday I picked up my phone and noticed the Update icon in the Notifications window, and I excitedly tapped it hoping to receive the 4.1 update. To my disappointment, it checked for an update and then reported that my software is up to date. Not really sure what happened or why, but basically Software Update pulled a mean trick on me. So then I fired up Sony Bridge and USB'd my TL to my Mac thinking maybe they just notified me OTA but I needed to download and install with the program (similar to the initial 4.0.4 update for the ion), but it also told me my software is up to date.
Has anyone received the update for the AT&T Xperia TL? Has it even been released yet? It teased me enough that now I have been searching all over but I cannot find anyone else who had a similar strange experience as mine.
The 4.1 update has not been released yet. Sony has said it will do so within the next few weeks.

It is rather disappointing isn't it? lol
as long as it is released soon then i will be content with waiting, for now lol. it is February haha here's to hoping it comes this week!
Please dont get yourself worked up. The expected release is Q1 wich means it could be up to the end of march and still be ontime.
I do realise things seem to be moving towards an early update, but things may still change.
Also, if you are on a branded phone you need to expect up to 3-4 weeks (In some cases 2-3 months) after Sony release the update for the carriers to play with it and add their bloatware before releasing to you...
Isn't it funny?

Yes it is funny, that 5% of people that probably have branded phone cry all the time that they didnt get update, where everyone else have it...
Its annoying that minority make so much noise about it that for people who watch that from side its look like its some major problem, where in reality its just small group of people who didnt get that update because of their region or branding...
Also, again, to everyone who cry about updates: GET A LIFE. Update will not make your phone super-mega-ultra better, its juts a bigger number in phone info and few random UI features... What do you expect from updating your phone? You could have damn 4.0 in it that just look like 7.0 and you would not notice difference...

Simple statistic math system: look for posts of people who have and dont have update, and to make it better, look for other forums too. It should took you about 10-15min because of magic of search engines(obviously use key words to speed it up). Or if you check such forums often you will get overall idea of how many people whine that they dont have update and people who say that they have.
And because of standard statistic reasoning that most of companies use, one person typically have the same opinion as 3-5 others people in group, so we round it up to some nice number(you should easily have 100 person that posted if they have/dont have update), and after that you will get that only about 5-15% of them dont have update, and biggest part of them didnt get it because they have branded device or live in specific region where even other companies dont push update so fast.
Of course statistics are statistics. They say only half of truth, but they give you basic idea of something without checking whole group, like for example group of people that own P9.
Also you can take in to the account Official Google statistics regarding Android:
https://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/index.html
And as you see here, only 8.9% of users have nougat on their devices.... it just prove that Huawei is not that bad at pushing updates, its just common problem with Android update system that google literally F### up at the beginning and didnt fix it for all those years(read: separating system components) :]
All the stats in the world aren't going to change the fact that it sucks, that despite promises of a "global" roll-out by the end of Q1 there are still 15% of us (according to your statistic) that didn't get the update.
If your company promised everyone bonus pay and in the end 15% of you didn't get it, you'd think that sucks too.
I've given up hope of receiving the update, seeing as the P10's been out for a few months already. And that sucks even more, because that means my Huawei "flagship" didn't even get ONE major Android update. And even though EMUI 4.1 is all right, there were a few features and improvements in EMUI 5.0 I was looking forward to.

So we should bash company because minority didnt get update, mostly because they have branded phone?
I got all updates that they roll out. And when you look at other brands and their update policy you will see that all companies promise fast updates and then for most of time they need to wait, OR WORST, they get that update but its bugged as hell and they need to wait even more to fix those bugs.
Also as I said, what do you really expect from those updates? Your phone doesnt work? it lack some features?
Because I had lots of devices, and Huawei P9 is not different here: new updates doesnt change much. More battery? More power? Nope. Most of people that say such thing say that because of clean install or lack of proper comparison(read: placebo).
All you will get is few random changes in UI that doesnt really matter in everyday usage and... thats it. Rest is just "something on changelog that you dont see anyway"
I'm not bashing anything.
You received all the updates and you think nothing important's been changed. Great for you. All I'm saying is: it's not up to you to decide what should or shouldn't be important for other people.
Some of the UI changes in EMUI 5.0 would make a difference to me in my daily use of the phone. But that's probably never going to happen. So yes, regardless of what you say: the fact that we still don't have an update sucks.
It's a flagship device. Very expensive device. And I still can't get the latest firmware update after 10 months of Nougat availability. They are completely incompetent if you admit it or not. It's embarrassing. This is my first and last phone from Huawei.
I think it's reasonable for owners of a machine that cost them the upper side of $500 to at least feel like the company respects them and is appreciative of their business.
You're right - updates aren't all that - however, they DO allow it's owners to feel connected to their devices, and foster the feeling that, yes, indeed, the machine was worth buying.
This is really the difference between Android and Apple and it does not help to excuse Android OEMs.
An update to 7.0 is not the same as an update within a particular series - it's a step upgrade to the current OS.
I also get upset with the constant whining for updates, however, it is reasonable, in JUNE for the Mate 9 owner to expect an update to Nougat.... And certainly to complain LOUDLY for not having received it. O is around the corner.
For Huawei and for the Mate 9, it's not too much to ask, PARTICULARLY when there are Mate 9s around the world that received updates half a year ago.
Let them complain is all I'm saying. People come here to feel like they've at least been heard. I know the frustration and sometimes just coming here and saying it, helps.
But also, really, if you had an update last month, don't come in and talk about how you'll 'never buy it again' because b300 has been out for at least two weeks, you've seen it, and the updates suck, you'll check again tonight and let us all know tomorrow. It cheapens the experience of an excellent phone and the hard work of the people behind it.
For those who haven't received the update, I'm sorry, I feel you, just remember you have a great, great phone - don't let the S8s and OnePlus's fool you, nor allow the lack of updates to degrade your enjoyment of the phone. The update will come, don't worry.
P.S. OMG - I've posted in the wrong topic...I thought this was Mate 9!! Oooops.
Why bash Huawei for it? In the case where providers didn't roll out the update, it is their fault, not Huawei's...
The update will come, don't worry. - Well no update since september 2016 when it comes to Vodafone Huawei P9, they keep saying they have not received the firmware from Huawei yet. Which means it's up to huawei to send the firmware to Vodafone for testing.
I bet most people debrand and update to nougat when their service provider seems to never be able to release an nougat firmware update because of huawei not giving it to them for testing. It should of been released months ago like a normal flagship phone.
I don't want Nougat anyway. All the builds I have used so far have been gash.
Quite happy on MM.
my advice is contact your local huawei support. I did a few weeks ago to be told that they have no intention of releasing the update in New Zealand to the p9 lite, and that they basically stopped supporting it in NZ last septemeber. This includes not patching the trustzone vulnerability. Have been working with the place I brought it from to get a refund

I agree, I got the P9 under EE... I couldn't believe no upgrade to nougat, and yes there is a big difference in the way new OS works with the phone... and the UI improvements help a lot in day to day usage of phone compared the crappy huawei marshmallow version... (very narrow minded of others to say you won't get any improvements..you do, I experienced the obvious difference!) .
I decided I wouldn't wait for the upgrade when I knew it was out... So I very very painfully upgraded the phone to nougat by spending stupid amounts of hours gaining knowledge. At the end I felt I got a new phone as responsiveness improved and the new emui 5 nougat OS was so much better and more usable. (fixed a lot of bugs)
So I feel for a lot of people who spend money to get flagship phones that never see the light of day with any upgrades/security patches, feels like we are cheated... Never owned (or will ever own) any apple ? IPhones but the OS ecosystem is rock solid... I wish the new OS version of Android that separates core OS from providers helps improve this.
Piece!
1 month and 7 days later - still nothing.
I wouldnt worry about the 7 builds either, battery life is as good as halved.
Is it really? Why the issue? Are you sure its not the battery stats that need to re establish after a mjor upgrade?

I thought this too but since updating to b386 directly (skipped 361) battery life is far better than on MM. Been browsing Reddit and Facebook n WiFi for 2hr 44min and still have 71% battery left.
As the title suggests, I'm on the T-mobile Note 9. I was looking around online for a Pie update and found this page. I thought I'd share for those who hadn't seen it.
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-39346
Apparently, there are three different statuses: Development, Testing and Complete.
As of yesterday, the Note 9 was still in Development. Today, it is in the Testing mode. Lets hope we're getting pretty close to the release!
EDIT 3/2/2019
According to the above link, the device is still in TESTING. In this document, Android 9 Pie HAS BEEN released as of 3/1/2019, but only to a limited audience. Not sure if this is a test group or what's going on.
EDIT 3/3/2019
Hi everyone. Please keep this on topic. The reason I made this thread is to provide a reference (T-mobile users) on the status of the update. If you need assistance getting back on the OTA track, please create your own topic. Furthermore, this thread is meant for users on the T-mobile SM-N960U, "probably not" the SM-N960U1 , which I know nothing about. Thanks!
EDIT: 3/4/2019
According to the document I originally posted, the phase of the update has now changed to COMPLETE. Hopefully, I'll have it by the end of the week, but we shall see how long actual deployment takes. The document provided in the 3/2/2019 update of this thread does not detail any further updates past 3/1/2019.
I just checked for updates. A security level patch level February 1, 2019 is now downloading. Size 1867.41 MB. Versions: N960USQU1CSB3 / N960UOYN1CSB3.
EDIT: 3/5/2019
I'm now on Android Version 9 / N960USQU1CSB3.
First Impression: I do not like the fact that the time clock is moved to the left side. They should've kept it where it was. I'll be looking for a way to change it.
I'm hoping it comes out next week. Att already has it, so I dont know what's taking them soo long to release it for tmobile
My wife's S9+ got the update today from TMobile. I'm surprised that S9+ got it first before Note 9.
Today it shows its moved to testing, hoping to get it soon now.

Been like that all week.
My guess you won't see any updated to the Note 9 till long after the S10 is in stores. T-mobile is a crap company and this is how they do business. They will hold the update till we have had many weeks to look at the S10. T-mobile want you to spend the money on the upgrade. It's the 25th of February this update has been available on unlocked devices for nearly a month. AT&T has had it on their Note 9 for a few weeks already.

If any part of what you said was even remotely true, then they wouldn't have pushed the update to their S9/+. Note 9 owners aren't the target audience for the S10/+
Imo keep Oreo untill the next Pie update at least. It has bugs and if you just got the device there may be things you want but aren't on Pie.
Updates are fine but OS version changes I let others be the guinea pigs...

Assuming similar as the U1 update not dropping until March as well
This is depressing
However, I did update mine manually using the OTA that is posted. Could wait for T-Mobile.
Went fairly smooth. Couple minor issues, one with Google Home. Home would crashed every time I opened it. In the end, a factory reset brought everything in line.
I would recommend this upgrade to anyone and I would also recommend just side-loading it like I did.

Ugly can be changed with a theme but then again ugly is subjective.
As far as speed .. it actually behaves faster on my 9 then Android 8.x did. Not sure what you are running on yours that would slow it down so much.
Been on Pie now for a week. Love it. Better battery life, faster in almost every aspect. Didn't wanna wait for TMO to push it so went the firmware science route.
Haven't experienced any issues that have been reported, quite the opposite for me. I personally prefer pie over Oreo, but that's just me. Now if only, they fix the Swift installer app to work with Pie (unrooted) now.

I'm on CSAA will it be able to OTA to the least tmobile on release?
I am currently on Tmobile with the version N960U1UEU1ARL1, would i have to wipe my device if I download the update manually? In any case, I can't seem to find my version on the Firmware Science form so do i just have to wait for the unlocked version of the update or am I eligible for TMOBILE's
I am confused, on the official T-Mobile update page, it lists N960U1UEU1CSB3 as the build number for the update. I thought N960U1UE specifies it's for the unlocked N960U1, where as carrier builds for the N960U are N960USQ?
Yesterday received first update since January's upgrade to Pie. Sadly it just brings the security level from December 2018 to April 2019, version being 9.0.0.255 i.e not 9.1. Not only do we have Huawei's arrangement with UK network operators delaying updates, we now have Google under orders from the Trump adding another potential maybe permanent delay. If forum administrator agrees, perhaps this topic can remain open as an ongoing record.

Not really. That thread is not country specific; note I specified "UK" in the topic header. My experience to date is knowing when updates are being pushed in other countries or regions doesn't help much with regard to the UK owing to the special arrangement between Huawei and UK mobile network operators. While one Swallow does not make a Summer, it's helpful to know when a new update is released by one of the UK networks.
I had no updates from o2 since December. Plugged a Vodafone sim in and 255 arrived immediately.

Interesting! As you were just over three weeks behind my GiffGaff/O2 255 update you _might_ have received 255 via O2 had you waited a little longer (my previous update to 168 and December security patch was in January). That being said, perhaps switching sims puts you to the head of the staggered update queue of the changed network provider.
According to Huawei UK twitter feed :
The wait is finally over ?. We’re excited to launch EMUI 9.1 this July, to provide you with a faster, smoother and smarter experience. Elevate your performance: https://t.co/LBWyX0WO43 https://t.co/UMVRath1mO

Brief observations :
Just under 4.5GB so long download.
During post-install restart the initial Huawei logo screen displayed for a very long time (several minutes) so don't panic!
Noticeable improvement in responsiveness although how long that will last remains to be seen.
Lastly, security patch level is July.

From some very brief research I believe the only way of telling if GPU Turbo is installed is by the improved responsiveness when running a game that can use it. I am not a 'gamer' so have no way of testing that. What makes you believe the update package content information is incorrect?

Which version have you updated to ?
311 rolled out to me followed by a small patch. Much smoother now. Pleased about the improvements so far.
EE rolled out 9.1.0.311 to my C782 a few weeks back.
The battery is now on par with my old iPhone 6s. They haven't rolled the patch out yet.
Hi All
I hope everyone is looking after each other. I have a G7 plus which I ordered online mid last year. I'm in Australia and I have found out the phone is from Bulgaria. Anyhow it's been a disaster. Apparently Bulgaria aren't releasing Android 10. I guess my question is how can I get it? I'm pretty tech savvy and can follow your advice. Advice which would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Trent

Hey Trent, hope you're keeping well too!
Do you know what your software channel is? It's in your phone settings.
I wouldn't dismiss not getting Android 10 just yet - I know the UK just got it a day or so ago and even myself (in Canada, Latin American version from Amazon) just got it about three weeks ago.
To answer you directly, I'm not aware of any way to force the update if the ROM is not available for your channel yet.
Motorola is notoriously slow at releasing and rolling out updates (they announced the Android 10 roll out in January and here we are in April) so hang in there - as far as I am aware all G7+ should be getting this update so give it a bit more time.

Thanks for your prompt reply. The software channel is reteu. The reason I'm concerned is I know in Australia they've had Android 10 for awhile and when I checked on the Bulgarian site it said they weren't updating the G7. I just hope if they do it works in Australia

Oh hmm.
According to reddit reteu should have gotten it:
Finally! (Moto G7 plus reteu)
I was under the impression that your physical location didn't matter, just your channel did but I could be wrong.
One thing I would be tempted to try is setting up a VPN and connecting to a server in Australia.
You might also want to post on the "official" Motorola forum for our devices:

I'll try it now. Thanks. Do you mean connecting to Bulgaria where the phone is from?

Whoops, yes. Lack of coffee in the morning when I wrote that!
If that's not possible to find a VPN endpoint in Bulgaria then I think any European country should do because "reteu" is "Retail Europe".
I hope it works although I'm grasping at straws here - I'm on retla ("Retail Latin America") and physically in Canada and I am pretty sure the update came out the same time for all devices on retla regardless of location.
But it doesn't hurt to try, right?

That's just bizarre. What's the address for that site? The G7 Plus is supposed to receive one major version upgrade (Android 9 to 10) and subsequent security patches for a time.
What's your exact model number? Ie. mine is XT-1965-2
What is the message when you try to check for updates?
If your software channel is RETEU you can download the official firmware from lolinet , then use the lenovo/motorola smart assistant to flash it. It will wipe your device FYI. I've personally never done it so not sure the exact steps, but it can be done.
the LMSA can be found HERE
I've also heard of people putting the firmware file on the root of an SD card, then checking for system update in settings and it can get detected as a legitimate update (as it will be, lolinet files are official firmware dumps).
Also someone else has written an update script in THIS THREAD you can try if the above does not work, however try the official moto route before resorting to that as a last resort (also should/will work however).
Hope this helps.
(also i wouldnt be concerned about it being from Bulgaria. If its a reteu xt1965-3 youll be able to flash the 10 official update)

Thanks heaps for that. There are two versions of Android 10. Which one do I pick?
Yes I do have reteu xt1965-3. It's still actually stuck in January 2019 for the security patch
