Stock SMS - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Have they integrated MMS yet for the stick app yet? I remember it wouldn't out the messages together in one text.

Is there an app that can block/hold all MMS and SMS messages? Or a toggle switch app to turn off all notifications/led for MMS and SMS? I could of sworn I seen something like this before, it let you create profiles I think.

you can try SmartBlock by spbase inc.-(for both sms or call)
or my much prefered SmartSMS-(sms only)by cnemsolution.
both works well in blocking sms. But i didnt tried it if it will work on mms.

That is strange... In reality I think all alternatives(such as chomp and handcent) work off of the built in messenger app. So if your stock app works with mms, they should too...

Update prl and profile first. That tends to help a lot. Also make sure that you leave receive turned on for stock app but not notifications.

Some messages of mine were cut as well. The only thing that fixed it was an updated mms.apk & use ADB push...
Thanks to Gamingphreek for the fix...

[Q] Individual/Group Messaging?

As recently as a few months ago, when I was sending a text to multiple people, it would say near the bottom of the screen "Individual Messages" or "Group Message" depending on what option I had selected. I could tap that area and it would switch between the two.
I just noticed that it no longer gives me the option. Has anyone run into this and know how to remedy?
Which app are you using in the first place to text?
Hangouts definitely handles group messaging well in my experience.

I'm just using "Messaging", the one with the green smiley chat bubble icon.

Oh okay then. Thats what I figured. There are three apps that work real well with group messaging. Verizon text app, Textra, and Google messenger.

I can do group messaging just fine, I can also do individual messaging to multiple people. What I used to see is an on-screen indicator letting me choose which option I want, now I don't see those.

MMS

Anybody having issues sending and receiving MMS via WiFi?
Just curious - are you using the stock messaging app, or something else?
I'm coming from an LG G2, and spent a few months working with support to finally determine I couldn't use a non-stock app and still send MMS over wifi. I miss Handcent, but switching back to the stock app did the trick. I don't know if that's true with the S6, but would guess it is.

Using stock messenger app. I tried tweaking the APN according to what others were recommending on older gen Galaxys by selecting IPv6/IPv4 but still not able to get MMS to work over wifi.

SMS/MMS/Group Texts

Hey guys. I'm coming from a S7 so I will use that as a reference for what I'm trying to do.
On the S7 if I sent a text message to two or more people I can reply all in the same thread or had the option via a little check box to send the messages individually. However, when I send or receive a group message I'm getting individual messages.
It sucks because if someone sent me a group text I can't see who else they sent the message too. And if I can only reply to it individually not as a single thread.
I hope I explained this properly. Does anyone know if there is a setting I'm missing here or is this "feature" not supported on MIUI stock messenger app?

Total PITA but that's the way MIUI handles texts unfortunately. I have looked for a solution but haven't been able to find one...

This is really pissing me off! I even tried 3rd party apps like Google Messenger app but it simply couldn't send the message. Pretty damn annoyed right now

I'm with you...I tried editing APN's, multiple 3rd party apps, etc. and can't get a solution. It's one of the things I have to live with for the time being.
Yeah, it really sucks because I have a handful of co-workers and friends that I use the group text with and now I can't use it. It's nuts that it's not supported.
Like you, I tried messing with APN settings and 3rd party apps but to no avail. If you find a solution please let me know because I'm seriously annoyed right now
I seem to have it working on an app by app basis. It works best from the default messaging app, but I hope this is something that will be fixed in the future.

What network are you on and what are your APN settings? I don't even think the default messaging app has settings pertaining to group text...not as far as I could see
I found Textra to be the best workaround for this. It has some smarts to figure out the group messaging... better than others at least.

AT&T, and their suggested settings for NXTGENPHONE
TextNow is an awesome app I found that lets you make WiFi Calls and also text over WiFi and of course supports group text messaging.
However, you will have to choose a new # which is not really a huge deal. Just another option for you guys. Been using it for a couple days and it works great!
I will try Textra as well and see if it works.
Textra is the solution . Supports GIF too

Yes, it is. That is what I used for messaging now. TextNow is good for WiFi text and calls though.
