Hi, I usually have a 2H SOT on MM, my question is, should I downgrade to lollipop for better SOT?
Well, for me the device works faster and I'm able to get more screen on time in Lollipop. If you don't mind losing latest security patch and Huawei's enhancements, you could give Lollipop a try
i don't have my 4X (which had Kirin 620 too) anymore, but when i had it, on LP i had like 1-2 SoT more hours than MM
Thanks, and, btw....Are there any tutorials showing me how to downgrade? I'm on B564 rooted, twpr installed. Thanks!

Huawei has announced Nougat update plans for its smartphones. The Android 7 update for Huawei devices will arrive in the form of version 5.0 of the Chinese company's EMUI skin. The roll-out will begin sometime in Q1, 2017, with the Huawei Mate 8 and P9 getting the update first, followed by the P9 Plus, P9 lite, nova, and nova Plus.
The new EMUI 5.0, Huawei claims, is more efficient, secure, and user friendly. It "significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function," the company says in a press release, adding that "furthermore, the user can reach 90% of the core functions in just two to three clicks."
The new UI also lets users choose between the standard layout and an app drawer. "Additionally, users can jump between their professional and personal lives effortlessly with profiles now being able to run in parallel – no switching of phones necessary."
Coming back to the update, those rocking a Huawei P9, P9 Plus, P9 Lite or Mate 8 will be able to participate in the beta testing as well.

Doesn't the current beta have a problem with Mobile Data failing?
Or has there been an update that fixes that already?
Data fixed in B329 (i create a post)
Can anyone tell me where I can get the nougat beta for the p9 lite? I can't find it anywhere. Or is there no beta for european phones yet?
is it also for p9 lite L21 ?

How stable is the beta? I'd love trying Nougat, but not if it ducks everything up. (That wasn't a typo, I'm just hilarious.)

I think TWRP only needs an unlocked bootloader and adb - not root, since you can unroot a rooted device and keep your custom recovery

Yea, then you better wait for final release. I'm rooted but still waiting for final release as well... beta is only ok for secondary phones in my opinion, not the daily one.... Let's hope it gets here soon

U will need to flash twrp version of zui nougat when it releases
You won't get any cos updates
Cos is dead
COS is Officially Dead...
And about VoLTE Developers of ZUK Z1 must provide us the new MODEM.bin and it seems like they do not have any time for maintenance of Our device,
So as per my opinion COS and VoLTE both are not going to happen sooner or later on ZUK Z1..
Have some faith, if cos is dead they wouldn't be working on nightlies too. It will be updated as per lenovo Twitter handle but because of some reasons lenovo/cyanogenOS isn't giving priority to our device.
COS is dead dude.
Nightlies we are receiving is aint COS it is CyanogenMod.
We know that CyanogenOS and CyanogenMOD are different.
And the nightlies are also UNOFFICIAL after 6.0.1
So there is no faith for COS13/14 + VoLTE.
Beleive That
Oneplus one device is out of box is cyanogen then it update to oxygen os.
That like Zuk z1
If Zui os for Zuk z1 like Zuk z2 it's great😀.
U know that Zuk z2 zui os have full English & Google support..
ZUI 2.5 nougat will be released before the end of January, it has already been confirmed by ZUK
Z1 will the firstand probably the only snapdragon 801 to get nougat update

Cyanogen os no longer supporting zuk z1. If you want latest android you have to install custom roms or official zui. You can flash zui official rom to get the update.

If you install zui via recovery you can't update your device through OTA, you have to flash zui recovey or flash rom via edl mode while makes your phone complete zui version.
Do we get international version of zui (like zui for zuk z2) or we have struggle with chines version of the rom ?
Is there any other information from zuk about the Android nougat update to z1. As it's been a while no announcement or review is out there.
Hi
I have a question for anyone who has a quick charge 2.0 or later charger and is running zui 2.3 or later.
How much time does the device takes to full charge?
Afaik zuk has the required chips for qc2.0 and even has the hvdcp module in system/bin which is required for qc.
However hvdcp module isn't available in cyanogen os.
If anyone is interested in porting it can pm me.

Im on latest zui 2.3.045, and I don't know how long it takes to load 0 to 100% because I always stay between 20 and 80%, but 20-80 takes about an hour, I can stop it next time. You have to know that my battery isn't as old as the phone because it broked after half a year.
I don't know who, but someone wrote that you can not receive otas on zui, but that's wrong. There are two ways of flashing zui to your z1. You can flash unofficial zips via twrp, but they are always packed by someone else, so you can not say if you get otas or not. But the official way to flash zui is via the qfil tool, you can find a lot of tutorials about it. If you flash the official zui qfil, you sure will get otas. I have tested it a few times and it even worked after I had unlocked and relocked the bootloader. Only if you root zui you have to flash the system clean for ota.

I use the original charger of the phone. Zui uses qualcom quick charge 1.0 which works with the original charger. Idk if it charges faster than with cm, but the battery sure lasts longer with zui than cm or cyanogen os.

Yes oxygen os was official for Opo but we never recieved an OTA while on Cos,you must flash it though Twrp or Qfil in order to use it and get further OTA updates.
and yes,z1 is the one of few devices to get official update from Oem even though running on 801 and that so fast.
But Volte can't be supported even in future, same goes for Vulkan API support.
Good luck!
so i bought note 5 SM-N920T which was already on android 7 latest firmware according to sammobile website.
and there are only handful of custom roms (not stocked based but those which occur in original android development).
and all of them have serious issues,
like lineageOs 14.1 has no audio in call, battery drain issues, flash light issue, doesn't take images in dark somehow flash work when you take image but the end image is dark. etc.
and others also have similiar issues.
My requrements for a rom are following.
1. no matter stock based or not, it should have root and MUST SUPPORT ENCRYPTION after root (no matter if i have to flash any kernel or do any gymnastics, i am willing to do it to get to this requirement.
2. it should be fully stable, atleast all basic features should be stable like phone calling, sms, bluetooth, wifi, and others which are necessary for a daily life smart phone.
well that is all because i have xposed in my requirement but xposed is not available for 7 yet so leave it out.
now let see.
stock based custom roms (those i checked) does not support encryption after you root them, and if you encrypt them before rooting, then because their encryption method is such that TWRP don't mount data, so root is impossible after encryption, even i tried that magisk trick of cache workaround, it does not work. after i flash magisk to an encrypted rom, when i get to the point of entering password for encryption, rom says there has been some integrity issues with encryption and you can no longer decrypt, you have to reset the device to factory.
and if i root a stocked based rom before encrypting then they don't encrypt at all.
then there are custom roms like lineageOS. they support encryption with root and their encryption method is also supported in TWRP.
BUT
they are not stable to use as a daily driver.
so can anyone please tell me how can i achieve my requirement on note 5 SM-N920T ? any rom? any kernel / rom combinations ? anything?
or should i sell my note 5 and buy a better device?
thank you for your answers in advance.
Actually PurifyOS has an unofficial Xposed port that works just fine for the 920T, I've been using it for a month. When I flashed Lineage the flashlight and in-call audio worked just fine. Battery drain wasn't very noticeable, but every time the screen turned off while I listening to music my viper and Dolby apps stopped processing.
There's a very stable rom that has very close to stock battery drain, it's the Khongloi S8+ rom in this forum.
buy a better,newer device

is it a ROM or just xposed to flash in any ROM ? i will really apreciate if you can tell me about it? and if you can also share a link of PurifyOS for note 5 SM-N920T ?

i don't know how is that possible that i have many issues and you don't have them, i am on latest firmware / bootloader QG3 on my SM-N920T. and i flashed cleanly LineageOS 14.1 on it with or without root and without any kernel. still i have all the issues with flashlite, music app, camera dark images, mic not working in calls initiated by me and also on internet calls, and very high battery drain with only one app that is Conversations.
can you tell me which lineageOS version are you using? i am using 14.1 from following link.

have you tried it? does device encryption work with having a root?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-android-nougat-sdk-25-arm64-t3639221
There's the thread for xposed. If you have the latest firmware release from T-Mobile, I'm pretty sure Lineage won't flash over that bootloader. I had to roll back my bootloader to flash it, but Rayman fizzled the problems you were explaining in his second release for the 920T.
As for re-encrypting a device with root I have no never done it. I enjoy flashing roms and custom kernels so once I break encryption and DM-Verity on my devices I leave them that way. I'm pretty sure, don't quote me though, that with supersu you cannot restore encryption while you're rooted. I don't Magisk so you may want to look into that. Hope this helps bro.

Hi guys, i still didnt receive emui 8.0, and i want to know if its really worth it upgrading to so i can install it manually, as i saw in the internet its doesnt differ too much from emui 5.0, is it worh it ? does it provide more battery life or performance ?
Yes, you get all the latest security patches.
Hello friends,
I want to know what is the difference between a stock ROM (very OLD say oxygen OS 4.5.1 7.11) with stock kernel and the same ROM with the updated custom kernel from security point of view?
For me, what I have experienced is that in oreo, oneplus stock oreo ROM is not better than its nougat ROM from performance pint of view and battery back up.
Recently @dorimanx updated it stock kernel for nougat 7.11 oxygen OS.
please visit for information:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-1-oos-h2os-4-1-6-kernel-3-18-t3627073/page72
He said: My max uptime was 2200 hours, i forgot to charge my phone for 2 days, and it's died on 1 % power...
So, if I switch to Nougat ROM again, is it safe for security as the security patch will be very old in 7.1.1.
I'd say it's not worth staying on an older Android version with both security risks form older Android and older vendor security patchlevel, that's 2 times the risk of staying on a newer more secure Android system and with latest vendor security patch.
It might be okay if you disconnect your device from internet and mobile network completely, but what to do with a smartphone that can't act like one. [emoji16]

Not better, sounds like it's not any worse either (or not by much)?
I agree with the previous comment. Any perceived (or not) difference in performance is not worth using that old of a ROM.
If you are asking about security, then you are at some level concerned about security. If you are concerned about security, than I'd say it's not worth it!

Single data point. I've always seen massively different claims for battery life and performance for various ROMs, kernels, etc. Don't expect one (or even several) reports to be any indication of what you will experience.
I can probably get 2 days easily, if my usage of the phone is light. That's just on the latest stock ROM and stock kernel. Battery life is going to vary drastically, depending on how you use your phone.
Thanks all for the prompt and quick useful reply.

sultan's unofficial Lineage OS 14.1 is STILL maintained every month with latest monthly patches and lineage upstreams. I am also on OOS 4.5.1, i miss the new UI BUT stock oreo is not worth it.
