Use Android Auto without "This Item Isn't Available in Your Country" - Android Auto General

Hi everybody
I have seen a lot of posts from people using Android Auto in a non-supported country who get the message "This Item Isn't Available in Your Country".
Since I haven't seen a real solution for this problem and I encountered this today, I thought it might be useful to post a small guide on how to avoid this problem. (At least it worked for me today)
Basically, you get this message because Android Auto needs to download (or update) some Google applications for Android Auto to work on your phone. While doing this, the application performs a country check and thus refuses to run. By installing these applications through the play store and make sure they are up to date, you won't run into this message.
1. Install or update the following applications: Google Calendar, Google Play Music, Google Maps, Google Voice, Google, GMail, Google text-to-speech (Basically all apps Google uses in Android Auto )
2. Reboot your phone
3. Use a wifi-network to connect to the internet. So do not connect using mobile data.
4. In the security settings, enable "Unknown sources"
4. Download the latest Android Auto APK from a trustworthy website like apkmirror.
5. Install Android Auto by opening the downloaded APK-file
6. Run Android Auto and follow the steps in the setup process
7. Enjoy Android Auto

Not working
Unfortunately it doesn't work for me

Google Maps won´t download offline maps

Hey all,
Tried the board search for a possible solution to my prob, to no avail so far:
I am using a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, GP5110, android 4.0.3.
Fully rooted, avast! security installed as firewall, running in whitelist mode - I rather allow those few application I like internet access and have everything else blocked by default, with the ongoing permission-hunger of most app developers I figured to be better safe than sorry.
My problem: Googles` Maps App is running perfectly fine, however when I try to download any offline maps (settings -> make available offline) it just opens a tab called "My Places", showing my map indicating 0.0MB/0.0MB, download never starts.
I tried whitelisting a number of different system processes - such as was necessary to get the youtube app running - but was not successful identifying the correct ones.
Anybody out there who could help?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Chris
Can you not turn the firewall off , download the maps you want then turn it back on ? I have managed to download offline maps but avast firewall was not on ..... just a thought.
Would probably work, but I'm rather looking for a permanent solution than a workaround... Thanks for your suggestion though!
Go to settings -> Clear all offline maps
Then open Google Play, uninstall Google Maps, then update Google Maps, Restart Device,
Now it works on mine. There should be a notification section called "Downloaded Maps" which tells you the progress, as well as inside Google maps.

[Q] Latest unrooted ROM - No Nav Working - Help?

I had to use my company iPhone today because I can't seem to get ANY navigation program for my Samsung Galaxy Camera to work.
- Native Google Maps/Navigation says there is no network connection even though I can go in Chrome on the device and connect and find things (but no step-by-step) using maps.google.com and Gmail and other network programs from Google and others work fine. Since the Galaxy Camera supports a SIM card but I never use it (I carry a WiFi dongle/MiFi) I'm wondering if it is trying to get on AT&T even though the WiFi is active?
- Tried CoPilot GPS, and it insisted on first installing their offline maps that are 13 Gigs. Wouldn't let me set it up to use my SD card, and wouldn't let me use without installing maps first
- Tried MapFactor Navigation and the free version won't let you enter a street address. You can give country, then state, then street, but unless you can find a cross street it knows about, you get directions that are "in the area". Paid version supposedly supports the usual address search, but who wants to pay to find out if it really does?
Anything that I can do to get Google Maps to work right or some other program that will work if I always have WiFi?
After a couple hours of Google Fu, I discovered the issue was with the latest version of the Maps application. When Google removed Latitude it also messes with the setting for whether to report location or not, and gets confused.
To fix this you have to go into Application Manager, go to Maps, choose "Uninstall Updates". Then go to the Play Store and choose to update. When it finishes the update and you see the button in the store change to "Open" make SURE to open the application from there. That will then give you the chance to accept the new terms of service, and to select the proper location reporting setting.
After that it works properly. Supposedly several folks with other Galaxy products and the latest Nexus products encountered the same issue.

Android Auto doesn't find apps

Android Auto isn't detecting apps on my radio. I have Podcast Addict and Google Play on the list of available apps. However, Audible, Spotify, and Pandora don't appear in the list of available apps. Is there something I am supposed to do to get the apps to appear?
I am using SyncGen3 w/ Android Auto and a Galaxy S7 Active phone.
Applications mentioned above must have following to be visible at AA Google play
1) valid AA certification
2) valid country code
I assume you have issue with 2. Please identify your current country and we can check. Workaround is to use fakeGPS/fakeGmail based on US, install required apps and then unlink and connect your original gmail country. This works for me also.
I experienced the same behaviour. I installed an app compatible with AA and didn't find it on the display in my car. Even rebooting the phone didn't help. After some days after I installing a further AA app the first one got visible as well.

*SOLVED* How to install Youtube on Galaxy Tab 8.9 / 10.1 on Android 4.0.4

I made xda account just to post this. Youtube tells us to update from Play Store but it is already the latest version. Apparently there's several posts that had the solution ,but hard to find. and I'm sure some people are still clueless. This is the workaround that I found, just follow step by step to be safe.
Android Version : 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
Possible Devices: P7500,P7310,P7300
1. UPDATE all your Google Apps. i.e. Gmails, Google needs to be up to date, including YOUTUBE APP (if you uninstalled it already).
2. Go to Settings -> Applications -> All -> Disable Google Services Framework
3. Go to Google Play services , Clear Data, then Force Stop it.
4. Go to Youtube app, Clear Data.
5. Go back to Home screen and run the Youtube app. You have to wait for quite some time in order for it to set.
6. If it pops up displaying "Youtube is not responding". Just close it. and Run it again. IT MAY TAKE SOME TIME SO BE PATIENT. Repeat until it shows the youtube home screen.
7. You be able to run Youtube now. :good::good:
It worked, but now there is another problem. It shows error 400 when opening youtube.
*SOLVED*
Hello to everyone who stumble upon this thread. All the solution given does not work for a long period of time. However there is another better way to use without hassle.
1. Download Opera / Opera Mini and install from Play Store.
2. type in m.youtube.com on search bar and press enter
3. Then can use.
This is the most viable solution without having to think of the workaround as saves your time. With Opera being quite a lightweight browser. It is just as better as trying to run Youtube App.
Thank you everyone.

[GUIDE] OK Google - Google Assistant on Huawei P40 Pro

Hi!
During last days I tried to figure out how to run OK Google on my P40 Pro. I have to mention that my phone runs under EMUI10 (10.1.0.121 C432) + push notification fix (by Ilham and I ).
This is the result: it runs in background but the screen must be on. Also it works after restart.
1. Uninstall Google app (if it is already installed).
2. Set Play store to not auto-update the apps.
3. Unzip & Install (only) this version of Google app. It is untouched and original. Do not start after the install.
The newer version will not run in background.
4. In Settings\Apps\Apps find Google app and set:
a. Permissions = all allowed
b. Write system settings = Yes
5. In Settings\Apps\App launch find google app and set Manage manually ( Auto-launch+Secondary launch+Run in background = Active)
6. In Settings\Apps\Apps\ 3 dots\Special access\Battery optimization find Google app and set Not Allowed
7. In Settings\ search for assistant . Access Assistance & voice input\Assist app\Default assist app: select Google.
8. Restart the phone
9. In Settings\Google\ set you Assistant voice etc.
Do not update the Google app.
LE:. Android Auto will need the last version of Google app. Using the old one, AA will not work.
Great!! It works like a charm in my P40 ANA-LX4
Thanks!!
This instruction works! Thanks!
