I'm a new 3T owner who got my phone just a few days ago (came from a Nexus 6P). I decided to load the FreedomOS rom initially because I was curious about OOS. Overall, I'm fairly content, but a few of my apps haven't worked correctly (e.g. Accubattery and Xfinity WiFi). I was curious about Resurrection Remix which, I believe, is based on Lineage.
I'm a bit apprehensive about loading a Lineage-based ROM primarily because I think I read something about Lineage not supporting some of the 3t's features (fast charging?). But after searching I can't find the thread I thought I read those warnings....so maybe I imagined it? Can anybody provide any clarity on if that's even an issue?
I'd also like some feedback from folks who have run the official RR Rom. Any downsides? Any benefits over FreedomOS? And the same question to FreedomOS users who have used RR...any feedback on why you prefer FOS over RR?
i'm on freedom rom right now wiht xceed kernel, loving it, i woudn't do AOSP or LOS based roms because you'll loose the camera functionality and manual mode

Do all Lineage-based ROMs (for the 3t) not have camera? What do you mean by "manual mode?"

They have, but no other ROM will have the same quality than OOS-based ROMs.
You can try this ported stock camera if you are using LineageOS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/port-oxygenos-stock-camera-cm-t3451721
Remember to flash "HAL1 Enabler for LOS(and based on it): LineageOS" also from the same page.
Not sure which things are working and which aren't, some says that 1080p 60fps videos are not, but atleast I was able to take the video with that ported camera app, not sure was the outcome really 60fps.
Can't test any more of it for now, went back to H2OS 7.1.1 beta

yeah basicaly non OOS roms won't have the same camera quality in terms of processing and features.
Camera blobs are out and there are some ports but non function similarly to how the camera functions on OOS

What do you like about H2OS? Is it difficult to get gapps working properly? How about other launchers? Any issues for an English-speaker US-based user?

I dirty flashed it over OOS 4.03, everything seems to work fine, since Google apps were already there. I'm using Nova Launcher myself, can't spot any difference except language, since I was using finnish before, but there is english of course to choose.
Remember to take backup with TWRP if possible before flashing it easier to go back if you don't like it or something goes bad.
Edit.. seems that OOS 7.1.1 open beta 3 is here! http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_openbeta_3/
Well, if you really want 7.1.1 for OOS, you can just flash their Beta released today.
I'd say you should go for FreedomOS for now. All of the LineageOS and AOSP based roms have a buggy camera due to the buggy Camera HAL3. Only the ROMs based on OOS have a fully functional camera. You can also try out the OOS Open Beta 3 released earlier today, its based on 7.1.1

Yeah, I think I'll probably stay put on FreedomOS unless I discover another OOS-based ROM with a dedicated dev. Resurrection Remix looks nice, but a buggy camera would be unacceptable for me.

It's not my daily driver right now, but I've flashed it earlier, so I would say it's really good
Performance is smooth and fast, any bugs (so far), camera is fine, nearly compared to OxygenOS
I like a big amount of customizations the most ^^

I'm flashing rom for the first time I have unlocked the bootloader my device is rooted.
I have been reading posts
RR seems the most stable with oos cam included and it doesn't have pocket mode which can lead to faster battery drain.
So can you guys suggest me any rom which is as stable as oos and good camera quality (not working of camera, quality of the picture processed)
May this thread helps others too :fingers-crossed:
Thanks
Nothing has camera as good as stock, so if camera is important to you, stick with stock based ROMs (official OOS, FreedomOS, OP3Lite ...)
That port that is available for RR still has some issues.
Maybe try Paranoid Android, it may have some magic that other ROMs don't due to developers involved. It's supposed to have camera on pair with OOS, but I haven't tried it yet so I can't confirm (and for some reason people don't really talk much about PA). It has all other features of OOS.
But I'd suggest sticking with OOS based ROMs until OnePlus releases camera sources.

If the camera is a non issue than Slim Roms is the best. Fast not cluttered with useless features. But honestly OnePlus has it down with 3.2.7. had my doubts but the have created a ROM that is up there with P.A and Slim.
For me nucleaRom is the best and bug free ROM and you will have the OOS camera

Resurrection Remix Black Jubel is very stable in my opinion......and it has tons of customization and Accepts the OOS Camera Port so you can get identical Camera quality to stock.

I'm using FreedomOS with blu_spark kernel at the moment, but I'll probably try Paranoid over coming weekend.
To be honest, OOS is actually a pretty good ROM. With Xposed framework it has everything I need.

Hmm...yes 3.2.7 is nice but you can't really compare it to custom ROMs. It's great for its intended purpose (stability and compatibility) but it doesn't have the customization that custom ROMs have...obviously. It depends on what is most important to you.
I'm using OOS 3.2.6 with latest blu spark kernel and I'm getting really good screen on times, like 10-15℅ drain per hour. I also have Xposed installed but I'm only using greenify with it. Imho OOS is just as good as any other ROM, and I have just about tried every other ROM and kernel combination with the exception of the new nougat releases. There are only a few extra options available in the custom ROMs in comparison to OOS and they are mostly cosmetic. I reckon wait till some stable nougat builds have been released and then we might see some improvements. There is also no need to even install freedomOS or OSlite because you can debloat the ROM yourself and learn something while you are at it. Just go to the OSlite page and check the debloat list and then remove the stuff yourself with Titanium Backup. For me it's more fun when I have tweaked the ROM myself, and I guess for others also otherwise we wouldn't even have so many custom ROMs. I have researched the living bejesus out of this phone and I am happy to share my accumulated knowledge with anyone that needs help.

I suggest you try h2os v2.0 5th edition. It has the best battery life, even better than pa rom. I still have 93% of battery after browsing the web using wifi for more than 1 hour. It is very smooth as well during gaming, no lags at all.

what do you mean exactly?
I actually tried finding the latest(official) Lineage OS rom from this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-...opment#romList
But I could only find this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-...-15-1-t3735272
So my question is: Is this the latest(official) Lineage OS rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-...o-le2-t3541959
And is the fingerprint scanner, WiFi Hotspot and Camera working in this ROM? Also, is this the best custom ROM for Le 2? The most important factors being:
1. Minimalist and close to stock android
2. Fast performance and stable.
Also, I did read on the other thread that every other ROM other than Lineage OS is based on Lineage. So this makes Lineage the most stable one and it will have the best performance among other custom roms, right? Besides the performance and other basic things(like Camera and WiFi Hotspot) I only need fingerprint scanner to be working.
Thank you!
You can find latest official lineageos for s2 from this https://download.lineageos.org/s2/changes/
Thanks! This is precisely what I wanted to know.
One more question: Is everything working fine and is stable in the 19 Jan 2018 build? I don't use IR Blaster so that's not the problem, but except that is everything working? And is camera completely stable with Footej?

Do you guys know what is the best Kernel for LeEco Le 2? It should be stable and everything should be working and should work fine with Lineage OS 14.1
I want a Kernel for performance and overclocking so it should be the best one in that category.
Thanks!
Even I went back to using stock because of the camera issues. I see from these posts that it is solved. That's really cool. Op can confirm it : P. I also see RIL working on Oreo, does it mean volte works on Oreo? . Now only camera will remain on Oreo.
Yes. Everything is working great on Lineage OS 14.1. Camera is pretty stable now. But the picture quality of the camera is not as good as that of stock. Pictures are a bit grainy and noisy.
But the performance, smoothness, user interface, ram management, multi tasking and everything else (except the camera) is far better on Lineage OS than on stock.
Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,
I have had a Google Nexus 5 and a one plus 3, so the experience with MIUI feels strange.
I have tried with china, global and Xiaomi EU ROMs.
I have seen here in xda a ROM call pixel experience
I wanted to know your opinion about the best option.
And this pixel experience ROM does anyone know how much time takes the updates from China ROM to be in this one? Will it work on android Q beta?
Thanks!!

MIUI is very divisive, I'm on the hate it side.
Pixel experience, as the name suggests, is a modified version of the Pixel phones ROM. So it will be more to what your used to. Personally I've never tried it, as it has too many Google apps baked in for my liking.
There's the Lineage ROM, which is also very close to a stock Android feel.
Finally, there's the Resurrection Remix ROM, which is based on Lineage but cherry picks from a variety of other ROMs to give much more customisation and features.
In time there will be a more ROMs arriving, quite possibly an Oxygen OS ROM.
All of these are based on AOSP, so have no reliance on the stock MIUI, other than for the vendor images. At the moment the dedicated ROMs are still in early development and have a few issues to iron out, mainly flaky FP sensor performance, but are stable enough for daily use.
There's also GSI ROMs too. Though these have a few extra issues over the dedicated ROMs. I'm using the Havoc GSI and the small number of issues with it don't really affect me (except the flaky FP sensor, which isn't too bad to live with)
All of these ROMs will want an official ROM installed first, before flashing, to ensure the correct vendor image is installed. I wouldn't recommend installing over the Q beta ROM directly.
Thank you very much!!! Your explanation is really helpful??

I am in love with pixel experience ROM!!
No errors until now and the great pixel experience.
Hi,
there are so many ROMs for santoni and I don't know which to use. I want to use the ROM on my main phone as a daily driver so stability is most important and I don't want to experiment.
I once used RR-Luis v5.8.5 which I really liked but it had some issues so I switched to Xiaomi.eu which I have been using ever since. Unfortunately since my last update the phone completely freezes every 2-3 days which is really annoying and furthermore there will be no MIUI 11 (don't know why).
So now I am considering waiting for 2 more months for Stock MIUI 11 Global ROM or switching to a good custom ROM. But which custom ROM would be best?
I really don't need much:
ROM must be stable.
Everything must work (including all sensors, BT, Wifi, Fingerprint etc.).
Camera2 API must work for GCam Mod.
Encryption must work.
Good Battery Life (possibility to block all the sh***y needless Wakelocks while keeping the needed ones would be great).
ROM must not be abandoned or EOL.
ROM must not be some small project with only half developer.
Customizing is nice, but stability is more important.
I am thinking about AICP, AEX or just LOS 16. Which of them is most stable/reliable?
I am using AEX since 10 September
AEX is stable and everything works fine
for GCAM i am using the arthur's 3.5.2
earlier i was using pixel experience
i used that for 2 months. but now it's discontinued.

Do you need to make full reinstall of AEX with every update? Or does dirty update work fine? Because at the related thread they recommend a clean install for updates.
I have been using latest AEX for a few weeks/months? and it is quite OK (although there are some problems with GPS and tonight my battery was completely drained). Unfortunately this is discontinued. Havoc OS and Pixel Experience seem to be maintained, but they are already based on Android 10 and my Goodix fingerprint sensor will not work. Not sure which ROM makes most sense at the moment.

Heyyo, Google camera mods have been kinda touchy on S2, but luckily nullby has made s2 specific gcam mod ports.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-nullbytepl/
As for custom ROM support for these? You'll need either a custom ROM that has selinux enforcing policies for it like LineageOS 16.0 (which I did a crapload of work on to ensure nullby gcam mods would work perfectly on with selinux enforcing) or any other ROM port based on LOS 16.0 selinux enforcing trees. Otherwise? Any custom ROM that is selinux permissive.
I recently flashed miui and am really liking it. Enough people don't talk about the port for some reason, maybe they don't like the skin perhaps? It's been the best rom I've tried from what I remember
