Most stable custom rom - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

I'm flashing rom for the first time I have unlocked the bootloader my device is rooted.
I have been reading posts
RR seems the most stable with oos cam included and it doesn't have pocket mode which can lead to faster battery drain.
So can you guys suggest me any rom which is as stable as oos and good camera quality (not working of camera, quality of the picture processed)
May this thread helps others too :fingers-crossed:
Thanks

Nothing has camera as good as stock, so if camera is important to you, stick with stock based ROMs (official OOS, FreedomOS, OP3Lite ...)
That port that is available for RR still has some issues.
Maybe try Paranoid Android, it may have some magic that other ROMs don't due to developers involved. It's supposed to have camera on pair with OOS, but I haven't tried it yet so I can't confirm (and for some reason people don't really talk much about PA). It has all other features of OOS.
But I'd suggest sticking with OOS based ROMs until OnePlus releases camera sources.

If the camera is a non issue than Slim Roms is the best. Fast not cluttered with useless features. But honestly OnePlus has it down with 3.2.7. had my doubts but the have created a ROM that is up there with P.A and Slim.

For me nucleaRom is the best and bug free ROM and you will have the OOS camera

I think the developer has stopped the development for this rom

Resurrection Remix Black Jubel is very stable in my opinion......and it has tons of customization and Accepts the OOS Camera Port so you can get identical Camera quality to stock.

I'm using FreedomOS with blu_spark kernel at the moment, but I'll probably try Paranoid over coming weekend.
To be honest, OOS is actually a pretty good ROM. With Xposed framework it has everything I need.

Hmm...yes 3.2.7 is nice but you can't really compare it to custom ROMs. It's great for its intended purpose (stability and compatibility) but it doesn't have the customization that custom ROMs have...obviously. It depends on what is most important to you.

I'm using OOS 3.2.6 with latest blu spark kernel and I'm getting really good screen on times, like 10-15℅ drain per hour. I also have Xposed installed but I'm only using greenify with it. Imho OOS is just as good as any other ROM, and I have just about tried every other ROM and kernel combination with the exception of the new nougat releases. There are only a few extra options available in the custom ROMs in comparison to OOS and they are mostly cosmetic. I reckon wait till some stable nougat builds have been released and then we might see some improvements. There is also no need to even install freedomOS or OSlite because you can debloat the ROM yourself and learn something while you are at it. Just go to the OSlite page and check the debloat list and then remove the stuff yourself with Titanium Backup. For me it's more fun when I have tweaked the ROM myself, and I guess for others also otherwise we wouldn't even have so many custom ROMs. I have researched the living bejesus out of this phone and I am happy to share my accumulated knowledge with anyone that needs help.

Hi all,
Is there any custom ROM with pocket mode.? I have tried cm13 and RR, but no pocket mode

Paranoid rom has pocket mode I guess..
I haven't tried the rom but I have seen a tutorial on YouTube

I suggest you try h2os v2.0 5th edition. It has the best battery life, even better than pa rom. I still have 93% of battery after browsing the web using wifi for more than 1 hour. It is very smooth as well during gaming, no lags at all.

FreedomOS or Resurrection Remix

I'm a new 3T owner who got my phone just a few days ago (came from a Nexus 6P). I decided to load the FreedomOS rom initially because I was curious about OOS. Overall, I'm fairly content, but a few of my apps haven't worked correctly (e.g. Accubattery and Xfinity WiFi). I was curious about Resurrection Remix which, I believe, is based on Lineage.
I'm a bit apprehensive about loading a Lineage-based ROM primarily because I think I read something about Lineage not supporting some of the 3t's features (fast charging?). But after searching I can't find the thread I thought I read those warnings....so maybe I imagined it? Can anybody provide any clarity on if that's even an issue?
I'd also like some feedback from folks who have run the official RR Rom. Any downsides? Any benefits over FreedomOS? And the same question to FreedomOS users who have used RR...any feedback on why you prefer FOS over RR?
i'm on freedom rom right now wiht xceed kernel, loving it, i woudn't do AOSP or LOS based roms because you'll loose the camera functionality and manual mode

Do all Lineage-based ROMs (for the 3t) not have camera? What do you mean by "manual mode?"

They have, but no other ROM will have the same quality than OOS-based ROMs.
You can try this ported stock camera if you are using LineageOS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/themes/port-oxygenos-stock-camera-cm-t3451721
Remember to flash "HAL1 Enabler for LOS(and based on it): LineageOS" also from the same page.
Not sure which things are working and which aren't, some says that 1080p 60fps videos are not, but atleast I was able to take the video with that ported camera app, not sure was the outcome really 60fps.
Can't test any more of it for now, went back to H2OS 7.1.1 beta

yeah basicaly non OOS roms won't have the same camera quality in terms of processing and features.
Camera blobs are out and there are some ports but non function similarly to how the camera functions on OOS

What do you like about H2OS? Is it difficult to get gapps working properly? How about other launchers? Any issues for an English-speaker US-based user?

I dirty flashed it over OOS 4.03, everything seems to work fine, since Google apps were already there. I'm using Nova Launcher myself, can't spot any difference except language, since I was using finnish before, but there is english of course to choose.
Remember to take backup with TWRP if possible before flashing it easier to go back if you don't like it or something goes bad.
Edit.. seems that OOS 7.1.1 open beta 3 is here! http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-3t/oneplus_3t_oxygenos_openbeta_3/
Well, if you really want 7.1.1 for OOS, you can just flash their Beta released today.
I'd say you should go for FreedomOS for now. All of the LineageOS and AOSP based roms have a buggy camera due to the buggy Camera HAL3. Only the ROMs based on OOS have a fully functional camera. You can also try out the OOS Open Beta 3 released earlier today, its based on 7.1.1

Yeah, I think I'll probably stay put on FreedomOS unless I discover another OOS-based ROM with a dedicated dev. Resurrection Remix looks nice, but a buggy camera would be unacceptable for me.
I really appreciate all the feedback/advice. I'm not a newb, but am new to this handset so I really appreciate all the info you've shared.

Performance is smooth and fast, any bugs (so far), camera is fine, nearly compared to OxygenOS
I like a big amount of customizations the most ^^

Best ROM for Nexus 4 2017

Hello, friends using the Nexus 4.
I installed recently this ROM.
But i heard that the CM will not be supported anymore but I don't know which is the best. So can you please give me some suggestions.
My preferences are the following:
stable, with all functionalities working.
updated nexus 4 rom's
hi,
for my experience have one Rom fully functional and stabil and also frequently updated :
Nitrogen Rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...-nitrogen-os-n-substratum-10-09-2016-t3459341
maybe saosp rom is good too but unfortunately saosp rom is dead from april 2017 and lineage os 14.1 is still have BSOD's.

Nitrogen i think
I think dirty unicorns mako 7.1.1 is best rom most stable and most customizable rom there is also it is regular ly updated it is maintained by nitin chobe best n4 rom Dev in my opinion his ROMs are great any of his ROMs should work well for you just pick the rom that suits your tastes/needs
I would say latest ubuntu touch. Its easy to understand with the swipe and have the (web)apps i need while the rom has a good battery life (walking in the city with gps tracking on).
But what I can see is that Lineage 14.1 will probably be most updated like the old galaxy nexus was/is

Yes, they have regular updates and cool features but from my experience they are using too much ram (a little bit under 1GB on idle) which can be annoying.
Also i want to mention that it's not that all good to jump to android N because it lacks xposed and it's not looking like it will come soon.
I recommend Resurrection Remix
Actually I have Nitrogen rom but is most drain battery withoot wifi, bluetooth and lte. Before i used Krexus (On android 6) and n4 working on battery 2x longer and more stable. I think problem is Nougat.

There is no such thing as best rom. Go try them all and decide
thats a good question because i was wondering the same thing as new phones come out sadly development for the nexus 6 has slowed down but what are you guys currently running rom and kernel?
I'm running the latest version of crdroid along with sigma kernel and my nexus is purring along smoothly but interested in hearing what everyone else is using
Using Tesla now, was on Dark ROM with B14CKB1RD kernel. Both are great, Tesla has Magisk built into it, so no need for additional flashing and more features. Dark ROM is equally as good and has OTA updates.
Really depends on what your kernel settings are for these two ROMs, but battery life is great.

Well, PN has only official ones.
For the moment I'm running the (last) official monthly build of DU. Those RC builds tend to have more bugs, so I simply don't use them.
It's all subjective but my two cents is (are) I always go back to Nitrogen. Recently tried Six and that was nice too.

Sorry I can´t say. In my device before santoni I was on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, but with santoni I wasn´t satisfied with it. So I stayed at first on Miui Xiaomi.eu 9 but not really satisfied too. With new oreo roms I changed to NITROGEN OS 8.1.0. That´s my way on santoni device...
For Oreo: Its NOS
For Nougat: It's Dot.OS
You must try Invicta OS rom, it's very smooth and stable.
Before this I tried Nitrogen OS (stable) but after reboot finger print didn't work, rest were fine.
Go ahead and try Invicta OS.
Use cardinal aosp rom. Best performance, better battery backup in comparrision of other Oreo roms.
Cardinal aosp is the best Oreo ROM for redmi 4 santoni. Everything is good in this rom. It also supports OTA updates and thanks for the developer for making an awesome rom.

Well I am using Aosp extended Oreo. Although I am facing problems with root. But the smoothness and stability is good. You won't get the same battery life as you get on miui but it's actually not bad.
