POS - Blu Vivo XL

That's what this phone is. I guess you get what you pay for. Also nearly no support, and no answers to questions. I have a brick, that tells me every file I try to flash is corrupt. I've had Androids since the Samsung Blackjack...this POS is a bear. No more BLU for me!

[Q] $400 to fix my Galaxy

Hello all!!
I have recently tried to flash my Galaxy and me being the most useless person with technology must have done something wrong and now cannot work the phone.
Im pretty sure the message (now cant remember what it said) means it has ROM or something (please excuse my limited knowldege)
Anyway because I played around with it, its not under warranty hence they have to charge me.
However they have asked for $400 to fix the phone. Now I bought my phone for $900..??
I do accept my fault for breaking the phone in the first place, however I think $400 is a bit too much..
Now to my main question, is there a way for me to fix this myself?? or is there a cheaper place where I can fix this because this has gone way too far..
Living without my Android is like hell..
Can someone please help me!!!!
argh!!
I will try to get a better description of the fault if I can.
try reading some manuals and stuff like that on the forum
if it is rom related i think all u will need to do is flash a new rom from odin
just read and dig
if its software no problem to fix
i am learning my self too i had my phone not booting and stuff but after reading all good.
Ya, I got my phone bricked also, but managed to fix it. Basically search more info and tutorials for your particular problem and ways to fix it and you`ll find a way.
Did you drop it or?
If yes, you should repair it and pay :/
If not, setup adb and reflash your android!

My advise pay few dollars buy jig ebay flash with odin save yoursef 390+ dollars it is usb download jig very cheep believe it is exactly what you need
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
One the beginning as always .
Can you access download mode via 3 button or even recovery mode .
If so the probability is you can flash a stock rom to at least have a phone covered under warranty. If not working 100%.

[Q] Help Please......

I have a NEW direct from Dell, Streak 7. This is my first tablet. This item was a gift from a family member out of state so getting a return is really not an option.
I have set the tablet up with T-Mobile, and everything seemed to go ok. Got gingerbreak and rooted tab. Waiting on Dell to send me unlock code so that I can get the firmware upgraded to latest Honeycomb. However....
This tablet will have forcecloses 10% of the time, on any given program, will shut down for no reason...sometimes reboot, sometimes not. Will freeze after restart. Will freeze and only hard reset will get it back. Will shut off and not be able to turn back on unless you hard reset button and then try to turn it on right.
I have tried to research the issue, but I really can't afford to pay someone for answers. Just trying to see what the deal may be. The item was new, I had to break the seal to get it out of the box and all original items were sealed.
THanks to anyone who can help......or at least direct me on the right path to fixing it......: )
You should've rooted using the Superuser7.zip posted by TheManii
I'm sorry, in my research, I only saw the gingerbreak boasted about. Plus the issue was ongoing before I rooted the tablet
Sorry again...I am still kinda new.....thanks for the reply however
HMMM, well I would suggest you decide what version you want to run (Froyo or Honeycomb) and then I would search the forum for how to restore the 7 back to factory state. It's hard to believe you were having FCs out of the box, sounds more like you are leaving out some details, but no matter, I would suggest restoring back to stock with a clean install... believe me, there are PLENTY of threads. Might I suggest you restore back to stock Froyo, play with that a while and do lots of reading before trying to root or change ROMs. If you don't follow my suggestions you will just be back here with a device you can't use and getting flamed for getting in above your head before you were ready
I have been waiting to answer this post.....Sir or whoever you are....
I do not appreciate you assuming I was not totally honest about the situation I am in with my product. I have no reason to not give all the information so that I can have the best chance of finding a solution to my problem.
Prior to my Dell tablet I have rooted my HD2 and also my MyTouch, so I do kinda know my way around, however when the issues happened right out of the box, it was a total shock. So I figured .... I would go to my friends at XDA....However, I don't feel too good about these posts you have left....or again the assumptions you have made....

Well you don't leave me much to assume sir, anyone that has a brand new product and immediately has issues with it would logically return it immediately, BUT in my experience when someone is in your situation it means they did something to their device and can't get it back to factory conditions to be able to get warranty work done on it....
Again,
First....I am a Mam.....not a SIR. Second. It was a gift.....I have managed to get help for my issues and they have been solved.....I have no control over someone whom assumes. You know what they say about that......Good Day.
get off your high horse
Not on a high horse.....I do not have to put up with rudeness. It is uncouth and uncalled for. I have every right to defend myself. I am sorry if you don't like that.......sorry

Passes away nexus 6

My wife and I each bought nexus 6 phones last year, one white and one black. My wife recently passed away. Her phone was locked with a pass code that I unfortunately don't know. I thought that I had a good idea what it was, but when I tried to unlock it Google word the phone and locked it. I want to be able to have this phone for a spare. Can someone tell me how to remedy this problem? I can't see having a$650 worthless brick when when I could have a perfect good spare nexus.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
To better assist you, your thread will be moved to your device Q&A forum linked below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help
The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.
Sorry about the loss of your wife
Sorry to hear about your loss. It is possible you could simply just try to boot it into recovery mode. Have you put a custom recovery on there? IIRC, you can still access a device via ADB in recovery even if it isn't a custom recovery.
This should allow you to flash a new OS to the device and bypass the existing password. Maybe someone else can chime in and correct me if I am wrong. Sorry I haven't tried running without a custom recovery assuming you are.
Just thought I'd point out the possibility (probability) that this is actually a scammer sob story.

If this was *my* wife, I think I'd have more important things to worry about than trying to break into her phone. I certainly wouldn't be using that as part of a story on the internet for breaking phone security.
OP: If you are NOT a scammer, then sorry to tell you that if you can't figure out the password, you can't gain access to the phone. HOWEVER, proof of purchase and copy of death certificate should be adequate for sending it back to factory for repair.

Samsung Note 8 eng boot file?

My girlfriend forgot the pattern to her note 8. I had bought it for her barely two days before this. She's not at all tech savvy. Thinking she would fix before i found out, (I may occasionally poke fun at her forgetfulness), she googled the problem and was advised to do a factory reset. After the reset of course the frp kicked in. It would be a cake walk except her fogetfullness also kicked in. We've practically begged google to grant her access to her account again to no avail.
I've been working on bypassing it. I've done this for her a couple times in the past actually with other types of phones with success. You all are probably aware Samsung is a whole different ballgame. After a week this is what I know, or at least what I'm fairly sure is accurate from all the reading I've done.
1. The firmware is N950U1UES8DTF2.
2. I need usb debugging enabled to have a hope.
3. There currently is no combo file for this bootloader version.
4. There may be an option with an eng boot file flashed onto the phone?
Anyone know more about this and perhaps where I could download it or even how to make one. I've tried a couple different softwares that claim entering the ap from stock firmware will create the adb enable file. The two i tried this with however, did nothing when i flashed the resulting file with odin.
I'll take any advice anyone has. Maybe there's another route to enable usb debugging that I haven't explored? Hopefully there's something out there as I'm not a man of great means and two hundred and fifty is a great lot to lose on a phone.
Thanks in advance.
Pattern is easy removed with wipe data in stock recovery

Unfortunately you're going to have to figure this out for yourself because we do not help people and guide them on how to defeat the FRP and other protections.. You're basically saying she forgot her pattern and then after factory resetting it you're saying she forgot her password to?! That just doesn't sound right and there's a reason why Google refused to help you.. If it really is your phone you can take it to your cellphone carrier or Samsung and they'll fix it.

And figure it out I shall. For your information there are people with a tendency to forget quite a bit. Its hard for her but she makes up for anything she lacks not being a judgemental, small minded ass. Maybe try applying some common sense next time you're plotting out a withering retort genius. Its a carrier unlocked, as some of the more knowledgeable members can most likely glean from the firmware. Bought from ebay to use with her service. What do carriers say when you ask for their support with a handset not purchased from them and therefore not covered under warranty by their company? Yeah. And I guess youve never forgotten a google password and had to deal with their **** or you would have hesitated before letting that drivel roll from your tongue. I lost an email address there permanently once that was quite clearly 'mine'. They just wouldnt allow me access again because i forgot to change my recovery number when I changed my phone carrier.
Now despite your quite clear insinuations the phone is most definitely mine. The situation is just as described. And I guess what I really should have asked for is a question and answer type group comprised of individuals intelligent enough to know that in the case where frp keeps someone from using their own property on account of the fading memory of a loved a one, there must exist a way to continue using said property.
I hope you aren't representative of all your peers that are members here. I hope children make less assumptions in their judgement of others.

Let's see if anyone helps you then! With your attitude and name calling I can see I made the right choice and everyone else is going to see your attitude too and they're not going to want to help you. Being a little 6 year old name caller and crybaby isn't going to persuade anyone to help you. If you're too dim to understand that the FRP is there to protect stolen phones, and you're too dim to see that it seems suspicious when you say she forgot the pattern and then forgot the password right afterwards that's your problem!

As Stated before we will not help you to bypass the FRP Protection!
There is no way to prove what you say is the truth or total LIE!
You are the one that needs common sense! Ask yourself this, if my phone was stolen would you want someone to come to site like xda and ask for a work around FRP on your phone without giving proof and giving some sob story?
Wow! 2 posts and hes already bold enough to lash out. Sounds like a little spoiled petulant kid. Take your attitude elsewhere little child....

FRP Bypass

Alright so i bought a used galaxy s20 FE but apparently the owner before it didnt remove the google account. i cant get ahold of the guy anymore, so now i basically paid 400 bucks for a brick. ive been trying for a while to figure out a way to fix this, but i dont know much about phones. think i mightve been scammed tbh, but i paid in person and dont have any data on the guy. basically im screwed besides if i can get this to work. i thought maybe i could flash custom firmware and that could fix it, but for that id need to unlock the bootloader and i obviously cant access the device.
im super pissed and really dont know what to do anymore. ebay customer protection cant help either because i paid in person. im praying that any of you can help me. since i cant access the phone i dont know what security patch its on, but probably the most recent one.
not everyone will feel the same way but many people would be reluctant to offer advice in these situations.
if you have nothing to fear, visit a phone repair shop, tell them your story and leave them your full ID info.

Yeah that makes sense. Shouldve thought about that. Probably not very legal what im asking here. ill try in a phone shop as you recommended, and thanks for the input
Really make more change, if you consider the same "Carrier" Store, that You are planning to get your service from,
They can get it fixed for you, with latest software updates and ... Just have to find "That Person"
FWY- be nice! Be polite. Be 100% not you. These folks don't care. They dont have too. But, I know for fact, when you have the time, try it. I certainly think, it may be your only chance. So being nice, and polite, will get far, even more so, when you might say " Hey, I can wait...no problems"!!!
