Hey guys!
Back when i got this phone, I installed TWRP on it and took a backup of the stock rom, flashed cm,and now I'm on LineageOS.
Now I want to sell this phone so I'm trying to go back to stock.
I restored the TWRP backup, but I'm getting an error when opening the album or camera app along the lines of "Memory unmounted or unavailable. mount memory to continue" is this problem solvable easily or is my only option to flash a stock ftf through flastool?
I don't want to download a 800mb+ file unless albsoutely unnecessary
Thanks

Just bought the phone and Dev Unlocked it and Rooted it, after abit of failure I managed to root it. Phone worked fine I tried to install a mod and that's when I thought If there's any errors I can just delete everything and install but that wasn't the case it would stay frozen, I tried aroma manager it wasn't showing much files so I thought I would try and install the stock rom again that didn't work I then tried another rom and just been booting to CWM the sd won't mount so I been sideloading these files. :crying:
Before flashing the stock ROM you need to relock the phone first.
I just managed to get the phone working again
But a problem I have is that certain apps will fail to install on my phone like root explorer I would get a message saying Couldn't install on USB or SD card. Is this due to a partition or some other type of error? I had more or less the same problem on my S2 when I went back to stock. I later installed CM10 and the problem didn't occur, would I need to install another rom or is there a slightly easier fix for this?
Hello!
Before I want to go on to CWM I want to tell you what happened before.
Yesterday I flashed TWRP recovery which resulted in a really bad situation. I was stuck in recovery. If I pressed reboot it went straigt to recovery again, even if I pulled out the battery. So flashed the stock firmware via the KDZ flashing method and everything worked again.
Then I rooted again, installed CWM, installed CM, installed all my apps (TB backup on PC was quite old),....
So all in all it was a big amount of work and it took me a few hours.
Then everything was working again as it should and I updated all my TB backups and then I wanted to make a Nandroid backup so that I wouldnt have to do all that flashing and installing again.
So I went to recovery--> backup and restore --> backup
But it didnt finish. It always stopped with this error: Error while meaking a backup image of /system!
So i thought maybe I should install everything again, which i did. (I had already made a TB backup of all my apps, so i thought this woulb be done fast)
Well, went to recovery again, did a factory reset, wiped dalvik cache and even formated /system. Then I installed the latest CM + GAPPS and rebooted.
And the first thing i recognized was that the screen popped where it says "android is upgrading". And I wondered even more when I realized that all my apps where stille there. So obviously the factory reset and also format /system didnt work properly.
If I format /system and dont install any ROM then the device doesnt boot (which i guess is the normal behaviour). But what I want to say is that the format works there but if I flash CM afterwards all my apps are still there (despite the fact that i also did a factory reset).
All in all the phone does work normal now, but I'm not able to make a Nandroid backup and I'm really wondering why.
(I also reflashed CWM recovery but that didnt change anything)
I would be glad if s1 could help me.
PS: Could the solution be to flash stock again via KDZ and then do everything from the beginning?
Never heard of anything like this before.
Did you flash the recovery as a .IMG or through Rom manager (I would suggest to flash it with Rom manager).
Try this and report back (maybe your recovery image is damaged or smth.)

I have no idea what caused this crazy behavoiur of CWM, but I started over again with flashing kdz and now everything is fine
Maybe your SD card is full. Try deleting a few files from your SD and then do the backup.

I dont have any external sd card and on phone memory there were more than 10GB free space
I have been having issues restoring my Stock Kernel.
I made a backup in TWRP 2.6.3.4 and then installed ElementalX 13.0
I had a few issues so tried to go back to stock. However it installs but when i then try to redownload my purchased apps i get an error saying unable to install to internal storage or SD card.
I'd rather not have to go through reinstalling the whole rom again so can anyone help as to why i am getting this error and how to solve it.
Thanks in advance
Carl

In what recovery did you do nandroid backup? If it was TWRP then just boot in it and open Restore.
And system.ext4.win.md5 is not flashable, you use it in recovery.
Hi, I was running a MM rom for awhile and want to go back to 4.25.654.18 but I'm having issues. Flashing a stock rooted rom, the progress on the flash is really quick like it wasnt successful but it say it was and then wont boot. Is there something special needed for downgrading?
Edit: so I did an rug and system kept ferrying, some parts failed. Did boot though but with constant play services crashing. Had to disable. Tried sense 7 mm Rom, so t boot. Tried stock rooted Rom, won't boot. Is something wrong with the system partition somehow?

Make a backup of your user apps ( titanium backup is fine), wipe system, boot, data and then install any rom.
If you still have problems, flash a RUU from fastboot(it will wipe entire memory)
RUU via zip wasnt restoring properly, though it could boot. Kept getting crashing on google apps and store and file managers couldnt find the internal storage. I ended up getting it back to GPE rom after awhile. I can't flash anything else and get it working. Not sure why.

What you mean RUU wasn't restoring properly? Did it give any errors?
