Hello everyone, Im new here and this is my first post. Im a total noob with phones and android.
First of all, let me tell you that I don't speak english (I speak spanish), but I can understand it quite well. Any help in english or spanish is welcome.
So please, excuse my english !
Well, this is the problem:
I was reading a guide here for installing a rom and this guide tells me that i need to flash the TWRP. So I downloaded the official TWRP app from the Play Store, select my device there [S4 Active], downloaded the .img and flash it with the app. But when i reboot my device trying to access to recovery mode [power button + volume up] a yellow triangle with an exclamation point pop outs with this
message:
"System software not authorized by ATT has been found on your phone"
Just to clarify, the phone works perfectly, and i'm able to boot up, and do all the usual stuff. Its the recovery mode, I cant acess to it. I have made a backup of the previous recovery (the one which came with the phone) using a backup option in the TWRP app. But the app doesnt have an option to restore it and i cant find the file using ES Explorer either.
My device model is Samsung S4 Active (SGH-I537) and its from AT&T (Im not sure if it is the US version) If you need any details or information I will provide it !
So, I hope you guys can understand my english and help me. Thank you !
EDIT: I was reading this post [ https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...esnt-exist-upgrade-to-android-6-7-s4-t3508564 ] and now I understand that my model SGH-I537 has a locked bootloader that no one has unlocked yet. So, now, the only thing that i want is to restore the previous Recovery which came with the phone from the factory.

OK but as far as I know it's not possible to install a custom recovery on my model, even with Odin. Is there any way to flash the stock recovery with Odin? How? Any links?

Just flash the NE3 Odin package for your phone and you'll be fine. Look at the stickied post on the General section.

Im sorry but I cant find the stickied post . What's an NE3 Package?

I will google about it.

excuse for being this dumb but in the post it says:
"In order to flash the OTA files you must be on either stock, unrooted NE3 or NH3 firmware. You can then download the OTA file, rename it to update.zip and flash it through stock recovery. If you've rooted or modified the system in any way then you have to flash the Full NE3 Odin Package and update to NH3 first; this process will completely wipe your phone."
That means that I have to flash a firmware with Odin that's not the one for my android version first and then update it to OC6 through the stock recovery? Will the recovery work then?
I'm sorry about keep asking dumb questions, but I don't understand. The post talk about "updating your firmware". Can I just download the OC6 firmware and flash it with Odin? If I flash the NE3 first, will the recovery work in order to make the update? Will I lose root?
Is there any way that I cant get an image of the stock recovery from the OC6 firmware and flash it alone or I'm talking no sense?

managed some soft bricks in how not to root. Odin up & waiting if a dev comes up with it
I am also waiting for the root!
not sure if it would work, but im working on a rom right now that is pre-rooted, but like i said i dont think that it will work,, i hope someone makes a cwm recovery soon
I'm currently trying to create a prerooted rom the way I did it for my tablet.
Extracting the system image from the Update package was easy, currently I'm trying to mount the syste,.img to set the rights and add the SU binaries.
If this works out, how can I flash this ROM?
With KIES? Or Update.zip on SD?
Is there an Update mode, and how can I get there?
edit: Okay... I was able to mount the System.img, but this is not that straight forward as in the img of my tablet.
I found a lot of folders, but no .apk, known folder or something I could work with.

Have you tried adb shell?. I am not allowed to post outside links, but if you type "londatiga net/it/how-to-use-android-adb-command-line-tool/" in Google, you will get the appropiate link
Could you explain with some derail how did you unbricked the phone?
Thanks a lot

Hi guys, I'm pretty new here.
I was wondering if there is any official 4.1.1 Jellybean for SIII Mini, 'cause my phone is pretty dead at this moment. I tried to download from official servers some packages , and use them with Odin ...but the phone is still at the main screen " Samsung Galaxy S III Mini GT-I8190 ". Any ideas how to manage with this ?
Or can I use another firmware, as 2.3.4 Gingerbread? To downgrade the device just to work?

Do you tried to get some of this firmwares:
samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8190
and installing with:
trickytweaks.com/i8190xxaljl-4-1-1-jelly-bean-update-gt-i8190-s3-mini-how-to.htm
Yes, I have tried with my provider's firmware , but nothing happened. Still at logo screen. I have also tried with other firmwares, but still at a dead end. Right at this moment I'm flashing my phone again, hoping that something will change.
Had it stuck by flashing custom boot.img. Solved it by flashing 1 file image from samfirmwares as pda in Odin 1.85 default settings
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
I have succesfully extracted the PIT file from my S3 mini with the Heimdall software, but I don't wanna use it to flash with Odin because I think it's pretty messed up. Can anyone provide me with their Galaxy S3 Mini PIT file, hoping to rescue my dead phone ?

Well, if the recovery mode can be accessed with Volume Up + Home + Power, then I can say that my S III Mini won't get into it.If I press these buttons the phone just gets on, and remains at Samsung Logo. So that is why I'm asking for a PIT file, 'cause I can't get into recovery mode to erase all data, so I can flash my phone again using Odin.
I have tried all official firmwares and still nothing. I guess my SIII Mini partitions are a little (or a little more) messed up, and I need to use Re-Partition from Odin so I can revive my phone. And to do this I need a PIT file from a working phone.
Or there is another way to get into recovery mode, excepting Volump Up + Home + Power?
Thanks for the answers.

Well, the NsPro tool requiers a box, that costs 170$. The program is useless without that box. I have downloaded it and doesn't work without that box.Another solution is by using a JTAG box, which does the pretty same thing, but again, it is expensive.
I was thinking that if I'll repartion my phone it will resolve the boot.img file, because it's in the "softbrick" at this moment.
helpline
Have you tried emailing or phone SAMSUNG`s helpline, they might help.
Write this image file whit odin 1.85 and voala you phone revive.
Pls use tanks buton
That param.tar file I saw it is for S II . Does it work for a S III mini too? Aren't 2 different devices?
I tried rooting with the chainfire auto root thing and after the red android screen i got the green one again and its stuck,i tried taking out the battery a few times but its still not working.

I did and didnt find anything helpfull for my situation.
Also tried to root again but again its stuck on downloading... do not turn off target screen.
Boot to download mode and it says as it should Downloading do not turn off .
You are now supposed to flash the firmware via odin .
You should flash your stock firmware to get the phone working .
Then read the basic faqs and guides before you flash anything as its pointless flashing without reading the basics .
Or take it to a service centre .

Is there a way to know my version/pda since i have no idea what stock rom to download
Device model no. in recovery mode
Hi,
Sorry to ask a random question. I Have my device model no. as S3 I9305 when I go to download mode and in my phone settings I can see my device model as S3 I9305T. I have recently installed Australian official firmware(XSA version without any career bloatware) in my phone, which is the S3 I9305T. I found it weird to have two different model nos. in 2 different places. When I first bought this phone it was the Telstra version, which is S3 I9305T. After that I changed many firmwares and installed S3 I9305 version from optus and other country's S3 I9305 version as well. Could you please tell me why is that?? Is this because I once installed I9305 firmware once? If that's the reason, today I flashed I9305T official firmware again with Odin. Is there any way to reset the download mode as well?? Please reply. Thanks.

Not unless you know what it is or saved the original .
You can just pick a stock rom for your area/ network .
If you bothered to read the basics their would be no need for all this ratting about .
@JJEgan I need some help, Ive got device, with same problem (i9305)
the donwload mode (which it defult boots into) does not show any device infos (which normally shows on the upper left corner)
Ive tried flashing latest stock rom (4.3) it gives an error (NOT "error pit file partition" but error flashing. failed it does not go beyond sboot )

So you run odin in windows.
Boot your phone to download mode
Connect device and wait for confirmation of connection in odin.
And then you click pda and choose a stock firmware.
And click start.

Hi, I am having issues getting the TWRP v2.7.0.0 on my Samsung S3 Mini. If it matters I have AT&T and KitKat 4.2.2 on my phone. Below are the steps I have taken so far.
1) Used the one step root here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459910
2) Downloaded TWRP v2.7.0.0 because from the forums I have read that is the latest version for the s3 mini - http://novafusion.pl/
3) I tried using Odin3 v3.07 and failed. I tried saving both the TWRP zip file and the recovery.img as a .tar (otherwise odin cannot recognize it) then ran it through Odin... still failed. I tried booting into stock recovery and flashing the zip file and the img file separately.
I noticed someone on page 11 of the follow forum had the same issue (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678274)... but I am not able to comment on his questions do to me being a new user. Also there didnt seem to be a solution listed on that thread.
Has anyone had this problem? Or can someone send me a thread that has a solution? I appreciate all the help and advise!

Thanks for your quick response and help but unfortunately this did not work. I tried doing exactly what the instructions said. Downloaded the Odin3 v3.04 and the "GT-I8190_TWRP_2.7.0.0.tar.md5.zip" which I extracted only once. I ran Odin as and administrator too and it failed every time. I even tried it with Odin3 v3.07. no it doesn´t. Go to settings - Apps and stop Kies before booting in download mode and flashing the custom recovery (downloadTHIS ONE, unzip it to get a .tar.md5 file and flash it with Odin - follow the steps in the post)
After that reboot again to download mode, make a factory reset, and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Then flash the ROM with Odin.
Good luck

I just tried what you said. I could not find anything that allowed me to stop kies under my settings -> applications. The only Kies option I found was under settings -> Connections -> Kies via Wi-Fi. I am not currently on WiFi or have any Kies connected to my computer. I googled how to stop kies and saw that if debugging is on, kies will stop. I have already had the debugging box checked previously. So, I used the zip from the thread you sent me and tried it again. I followed the the instructions exactly and it still fails just as before. I really do appreciate all the help. It would be great if I could get this working.

I know there is root method for it, but that's all.

I am also using ROM Manager but cant utilize it because I do not have TRWP or CWM. Doesn't my phone have to be rooted to use an app like that? Link not working but you can use a root checking app to see if you got full root.
I don't think there is any custom recovery yet. I know some users have tried to build one, but I'm unsure of how far they went.
There is a few threads about it both in general and q&a section. Just search for it.

Which version of the firmware did you odin flash? I have download links for
the baseband and bootloader but I do not want to post the wrong versions.
I am certain of one thing though, your problem is not related at all to the baseband or the bootloader.
If you have successfully odin flashed the proper version of the N910T firmware then you already have
the bootloader and baseband in your phone.
What you really need to do is to go into download mode and odin flash the proper version of twrp.
Then pull the battery and replace it, once it's replaced hold down the volume-up, home key and
the power button at the same time until you feel the phone vibrate, then let go of all the buttons
and the phone will go into twrp recovery.
Once you get there do a full wipe:
System, data, cache and dalvik cache and last but not least do a factory reset.
Once that's done let twrp reboot your phone and you should be good to go except
you will need to odin flash cf-autoroot if you want root access.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Be SURE you use the proper version of twrp before you odin
flash it, the proper version for N910T is "twrp trtetmo 2.8.7.0" ...
If the above don't work for you then you must not be following
the instructions 100% to a "T" ...
Good luck!

Just call tmobile tell them that the phone died and get a replacement. OK, why don't you try installing an older firmware?

i did they said i voided the warranty. i guess this note 4 is gonna be my new coaster
Quick question, what firmware version were you at before this started and have you tried installing an older or newer version like LP for example?. Also verify you are downloading the correct version for your model.
Hello Every Body
Appreciate your help as i am new to this .
I have Galaxy GT-N7000 , & I rooted it with Stock Recovery+Safe Kernal + CWM Recovery as in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217840
it work great with no problem at all , then i update CWM recovery using ROM Manager & try to backup my ROM using ROM Manager , the phone is restarted directly & stuck at Galaxy Note GT-N7000 LOGO and stop booting , i can't go to recovery mode , i can only go to download mode
How to solve this problem ?
is there any solution to fix this problem & keep my data on phone ?
I am a beginer , this is my 1st post & the only thing i do is to root my device and use the apps
Please:
1- write detail instructions or link to a post so i can follow & learn what to do
2- Appreciate to put a link to any needed tools
Thank you
Rom manager is horrible. And useless.
If you can enter download mode, just Odin flash a stock firmware and redo the steps to get recovery. You should only create rom backups via recovery, Rom manager does not seem to support the Note 1

Odin flashing
If you read your first post, it says 'CWM recovery.' Look through everything here to get a clearer picture.
