No mobile data - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, i am newbie here and got a problem. 3 days ago i wanted to flash the phone's original stock rom(from sammobile) in order to getting phone slow and laggy. After all processes done(system, data, dalvik etc. wipe, over odin and without any recovery and root), i saw that mobile data not working and upon this i reseted the apn, downloaded operator's apn settings, installed again the stock rom and some other custom roms and etc. But nothing else matters. By the way, when i first flashed the stock rom i have seen that there was some new stock apps like "Kleek", "Opera mini", "S suggest" ... which ones i never saw before with this stock rom and now installed again stock rom and they are still there.
Hope you can help me.

Poor Signal - intermittently no 3g or Edge

Hello guys!
I got myself a Bell I9000M and did the following to it:
Rooted > Clockwork Mod > Flashed to Darky's 9.2 > Carrier Unlock (Hex Edit 01 to 00)
Everything works great other than the fact that I messed up the unlock once then I reverted back to the original nv_data.bin at which point I corrected it and made the right Hex Edit.
it is now unlocked and I'm using a ROGERS sim... it works fine ... but...
I get really really poor signal, and 3G/Edge/HSPA intermittently goes out.
My questions are:
Does anyone know why this is?
How do I revert it back to "Factory fresh" and start over.... I'm thinking my first mess up on the nv_Data.bin may have caused the issue.
Thank You!
Does anyone know why this is?
One that rom may have wiped your network settings check them all .
Two try a factory reset .
Three flash back to stock rom .
jje
I've tried flashing to the "Ultimate v7.8 Rom" via ClockworkMod. It seemed to keep everything the same but it had a different look to it.
Should I download any stock ROM and Flash it back then go back to Darky's?
Does anyone know a link in which I can attain the Stock Bell ROM?
Thank You!
Should I download any stock ROM and Flash
Stock rom for phone model only .
it back then go back to Darky's?
Yeh break it again .
jje
Do I just put it into Download mode and flash the stock Bell ROM on with Odin?
I would suggest using darky rom, with jl2 modem, and speedmod kernal.
I live in BC Canada and it works great. I have work email sync every 15 min and still at 58% after all day use.

[Q] Data connection lost.

Hey folks, has anyone here experience any issue with data connection after flashing a modem?
I am on AT&T / KK1 / LA4 Modem right now. The phone was fine, until I flashed the LA4 modem. My data connection will disconnect itself once in a while, and it wouldn't come back up unless I switch on and off the flight mode. I tried to set to phone to WCDMA only as some suggested in the S2 forum, but the problem still there. And flash to other modems doesn't help either
Could it be possible I break some files during flash? I was using Speed Mod kernel, and switched back to CF-Root.
Thank you very much in advance~
Maybe an incompatibility between your base rom and the LA4 modem broke up some parameters. Did you try to flash the stock modem according to your rom ? Wipe cache and dalvik ? Re-enter your apn ?
Sadly... i didnt mark down the stock modem.. the rom is zskk1 . I did both wipe before installing modem all the time. Tried sone other modem like la3 etc... not helping guess i will try to flash it to stock and see if it helps..
Thx for the suggeation tho

For your ZSKK1 ROM, the modem seems to be KJ6, have you tried it ?
You can grab it from there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344759

[Q] Possible to have infected kernel in GB?

Hey guys;
Started on Aussie firmware. Flashed to rootable UK GB, but the thing updated to the new ICS, which I know has an unsafe kernel.
I then rooted using dr.ketans method, and I also installed clockworkmod.
Since the kernel was unsafe, I then reflashed the UK rom and tried to skip the ICS update (no luck), but when it installed everything kept FC'ing.
I did NOT perform any recoveries or wipes!
I flashed to a generic, prerooted GB, but everything kept FC'ing. I couldnt access anything. I then flashed back to stock Indian rootable GB, which didnt auto upgrade to ICS. It was fine until I turned the phone off then back on, but now it is doing the same FC thing as the prerooted rom.
So far, I have only used PC Odin (using the single PDA mostly). I also havent performed ANY wipes (I still have all of my contacts and apps from the original Aussie stock). I stuck to Odin because I was told the eMMC bug from my faulty ICS wouldnt be triggered.
I guess the FCing has something to do with not performing a wipe and changing the firmware like 10 times. Unfortunately, I cannot access the *#1234# because the dialler wont work at all.
Bottom line: If I am on stock GB by flashing through Odin, is there still a chance I have an infected kernel? Also, I imagine my best way out of this would be flashing the prerooted ROM and performing a wipe, before moving to something like Paranoid?
Jesus Christ.
Thanks guys,
Vincent.
Edit: Settings is telling me the kernel version is KL3. Guess its safe?
Only official ICS kernels are affected by the emmc bug so unless you are on a LP* rom/kernel you're safe to do a wipe/factory reset. It will most likely solve all your fc problems.

As chasmodo said that wiping in gb again and again even your arse it will not bricked your phone. If you use the latest mobile odin there a data wipe you can check before it install a new rom try it.
Probably. Non wipe gb rom, leaving many ics stuff that messes gb up.
Migrating from ics to gb, go search on that

I am assuming you did clear cache and dalvik cache before installing a new rom, that's OK, just not to format system or do a factory reset if you are using a kernel that suffers the emmc problem...
If you don't clear cache and dalvik cache then you will have fc's...
Hey guys:
Ended up flashing Abyss, wiping everything, then CWMing paranoid. All good now.
You guys are terrific, I guess this can be locked now? Thanks again!!!

Don't do it!!!!!! It does not work very well with Flash, makes it jerky. I am trying to downgrade back to Gingerbread. Flash worked well before upgrade to ICS. I wish I hadn't 'upgraded'.

don't do what?
i installed the german update with no problems it is not jerky.
iam in the uk and on vodafone
I updated my UK stock 4.0.3. to German 4.0.4 XXLRG and can confirm the wakelog problem has gone away.
I tried the German version 4.0.4 and found that a lot of apps that I'd installed on 4.0.3 stopped working ??
So I have gone back to the UK XEU 4.0.3 from Sammobile and await the UK version update to 4.0.4
What is the 'wakelog' problem with 4.0.3 ICS ?
The only problem I have experienced with 4.0.3 is the SIM card has difficulty registering on the network, I keep having to go to scan for networks to register and resetting / taking the battery out etc - pain in the back side!!
I'm wondering if I have any apps installed that can block outgoing phone calls without me knowing about it?
Like a firewall or something?
On the '3' network by the way !! :cyclops:
Try safe kernel, reboot recovery and clean, usually helps. It might need more cleaning on safe kernel. I prefer full clean install to prevent these issues.
Try dalvik and cache first, on safe kernel like speedmod. K3-11 is reported pretty wel from hardcore.
Sometimes fixing permissions alone helps from recovery on a kernel like speedmod.

I've changed 'csc' file on the phone to XEU still on 4.0.3 - N7000XXLQ2_N7000XXLPT_N7000XEULP4
So started fresh again anyway - CWM recovery mode and wiped all user data settings and initially:
NOW UNROOTED
Checked that wifi picked up signal and worked ok
Checked that data connection picked up signal and worked ok
Checked phone was registered on network and seemed to be ok
NOW ROOTED
Now I'm going to install just the app DATA from the CWM backup image I took before I changed the CSC from Eur (this came from the Multi csc from the German 4.0.4 rom) to Xeu (this came from the UK/IRE 4.0.3 rom) - Sammobile website
If any of the prior checks I made listed above don't work, then the problem has to lie with the app data, as I haven't used the image cache, kernel etc - ONLY the app data.
Now on a slightly other note if I took the German ICS 4.0.4 N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_DBT - rom image and removed the MULTI csc cache file and replaced with the XEU from the 4.0.3 image - would that work?
Trick the phone into thinking it has a UK 4.0.4 rom installed?
Thanks for the replies :good::good:
NOW ROOTED - using CF-Root - SGN_XX_XEU_LQ2 - v5.6
APPS ADDED FROM PREVIOUS CWM 4.0.3 BACKUP IMAGE
YellowTriangle Away V 1.70 used to clear counts etc
Checked that wifi picked up signal and doesn't connect
Checked that data connection picked up signal and works ok occasionally
Checked phone was registered on network and seems hit and miss - registered one minute then not the next - unable to make calls - have to keep searching for networks manually - turning phone on / off / battery in / out !
Installed the 'Speedmod K3 - 11' as suggested earlier.
However now when I open CWM manager app, I get the message "This version of CWM manager should be used with CF-Root v5.0 or newer. It appears you are running a different kernel.Various features have been disabled"
Something not right somewhere...
got it

Help gt-s5830b back stock rom

Good evening,
I'm new to the forum, sorry for my english, I'm using google to translate the text.
I have a galaxy ace s5830b recently installed a rom I found here in the forum, android 4.1.2 by cwm 5.0.2.6.
Due to crashes I decided to return original rom, I downloaded the 2.3.6 rom original sammobile.com Brazil and made flash by Odin 4.38.
I had several problems related to / data wipe and factory reset, boot loop or not start after returning to the original rom.
Now the phone is running stock 2.3.6 rom Brazil working correctly but if I try to install any application Play Store it crashes and does not go over the OS.
I do not have much knowledge but I believe that the bursts / date and he can not even start, when it happens I can not even do wipe / factory reset.
I'm three days trying to solve this problem without success.
Could someone help me? I thank you.
