P9 bootloop After flashing Rollback Package (EVA-L19,C900B300) - Huawei P9 Questions & Answers

hi everyone...Please help!
I would like to update to( L19C636B361 EMUI 5.0). But I am stuck at a bootloop as I flashed in the wrong order. I first flashed the update.app (HUAWEI P9 Rollback Package-EVA-L19, from EMUI5.0+Android7.0 rollback to EMUI4.1+Android 6.0, C900B300) instead of updating to update.app(L19C636B361) [ wrong SD card inserted].
Then the phone rebooted and I got into the bootloop at Huawei logo. It cannot be turned off. It can only go into fastboot mode. Bootloader is locked and I cannot unlock it (though I havent unlock code). I tried adb/fastboot
There is always an error:
"FAILED: Remote: Command not allowed"
Now I tried to extract (L19c636b190) system.img , recover.img, boot img, flash it via adb/fastboot, but all failed. When I try to get into fastboot it says locked for both lines, and HiSuite tells me it has no software version for this phone version to repair the phone.
Could anyone help me solve the above situation?
Big [email protected]@

Anyone can help....please.
Coz i bring it to the service center, they charge me a unresonable price.

Try with the Marshmallow version and three buttons

Hey buddy. I had the same situation. Here is what I did: First format your sd card. After then download the right firmware where you can find at the huawei support official web page. After than try dload method. First time it will fail but your phone will open. Do a factory reset. Open your phone and flash firmware with dload method again. This time it will be successful and your phone will be stock. Just try. Sometimes methods fail bcoz of wrong files or sd card mistakes.

hi buddy, thanks for your reply
I follow your instrustions, i download the firmware on huawei web site {huawei_Asia_L19c636b190_16_01_2017(3,246,250kb)} with SD card format (fat32) or (exFat). Itried to dload method, I hold volume+- and power key and plug in to computer(windows 10). The phone will vibrate after 5 seconds. But it stuck into huawei logo,it cannot move forward to EMUI update. Besides, the notification light is red and flashing. Reboot and reboot again.
On the other hand, i tried the fastboot mode. I confirmed my device driver works with window, but i don't have any unlock code in order to flash any 3rd party rom. In my P9 , It showed "phone lock" & FRP Lock".
How did you work with dload method? Please kindly share with me ...thank for your reply again.

I had same issue with L19C432B378 92mb rollback file, first time bootloop. Try 5-6 times with 3 button restart and finally enter dload mode.
Second time 92mb flashing and my phone boot L19C900B300.

If there is red led notification, you are out of battery. Charge it about 15 minute first. So card format must be fat32 and fully formatted, not quick format. After than dload method. One more thing; dont plug your phone when trying dload method. Just hold 3 button about 10 seconds. Just try again. If you have right firmware, you will be successful.

Please help me guys QQ
If you have C432, try this:
1. install via sdcard + 3buttons UPDATE.app from HUAWEI_P9_Rollback Package_EVA-L19_from Android 7.0_EMUI 5.0_to Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1_C900B300
2. install via sdcard + 3 buttons HUAWEI_P9_Firmware_EVA-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1.1_C432B182_Western Europe

try installing 6.0 firmware for you model.
i cant go to eRecovery, i cant even shut down device - only full discharge can make it.But i can go to fastboot. Ive tried with fastboot commands but i have locked bootloader and every time my flashes are rejected by phone. The simpliest metod - HiSuite send me message: "no recovery packages are found for your phone model". It should be a way to unbrick it with fastboot but i dont know how.
Hi I was in your shoes yesterday I had to pay for the dn Phoenix to fix my phone it uses a backdoor to install firmware from fastboot
You could try and look for the backdoor commands I found this , I would post a link but can't yet

I had the same problem!
Hi there.
Was in the same situation as you not so long ago.
Get a micro SD card, plug into PC, create a dload folder then download the rollback file from the Huawei website.
I'm a new user so can't post URL. Just Google "Huawei P9 rollback" should be the 2nd option (consumer.huawei link)
Put in the dload folder and put into your P9.
Press and hold power, vol up and down together till the Huawei logo appears and let go when you feel the vibrate.
This should force update and restart. (does not rollback to email 4.1, only unlocks the rollback from emui 5)
Next you need to download your previous firmware, in my case I'm in the UK with unlocked P9, so I downloaded EVA-L09C432B166.
Same again, put micro SD into PC, delete the rollback file and put your firmware in its place.
Put back in the P9 and repeat the above force update.
This will put you back to working stable stock.
For further reassurance, download a build previous to B166 so when it's up and running you can search for an OTA update to make sure all is in order.
Hope this helps.
Did you meant that the rollback flashes without going to eRecovery? I said some posts earlier that i cannot enter eRecovery so i cant dload anything. Im stuck on Huawei logo all the time do you think than i can flash something via dload without going to eRecovery?
erecovery is different.
I'm saying to do a force update, but in order to do so you need a microSD card.
Erecovery involves holding power up while connecting to PC in order to use HiSuite etc to recover.
Force updater tells the phone to search for dload folder on SD card or phone and install the update before trying to boot up OS.
So, if you connect microSD to your PC via a card reader etc and not via your phone, you can create a dload folder, download the rollback file from Huawei (above) the file is only around 80mb or so, plug the SD card back into your phone while powered off, hold down Power + vol up + vol down. The Huawei logo will appear, when it disappears let go of all the buttons. This should bring up the Update screen.
At this point the phone will install the rollback file. and this will bypass the rollback prevention in emui 5 and therefore allow you to install a previous emui build (4.1)
Again though your phone will still not boot at this point as there is no OS working or installed.
So you need to download the corresponding firmware for your phone/country/operator. Once downloaded, remove the memory card from the phone, connect to PC via card reader, delete the rollback file you placed in the dload folder and replace it with the downloaded OS and repeat the process used to install the rollback.
From there you should be back to stock marshmallow.
I should point out the files you download may be in zip folders. You need to extract the "update" file and that's what you place in the dload folder.
Hope this all makes sense, if not I can make a YouTube video and post it.
Good luck.
Now i know what did you mean, but sadly i cant update it too. I tried with my friend's P9 and when i hold these 3 buttons then shows special update screen and in my P9 it doesnt probably because of my bad flash rollback for P9 EVA-L19 and i have EVA-L09 model

The rollback package for L09 model is here: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=91892&version=363759&siteCode=es
Inform the results please.
I made a video to better understand. This wideo is showing that phone isn't searching any dload folder. https://youtu.be/oD9AI_6SqLs
edit: i have tried your advices to put rollback and try to dload it and then same with firmware but there is no reaction i didnt see there any circle with progress of flashing (like it was before i flashed rollback for L19)
Mine is now doing the exact same thing - I too tried the dload method to update from C432B182 to C432B361 and it's screwed my device up too.
Until I tried to use the 'rollback' package, it would at least allow me to power off, so I could get back into the Update screen - after doing that, and trying the B182 again, it's got into this position where I can do literally nothing with it. No combination of buttons, no matter how long I try to hold them, seems to do anything.
An update...
After letting my battery drain completely, I have been able to get into Fastboot mode, by pressing and holding the Volume Down button whilst connecting a USB cable to my PC.
From here, I have been able to run DC-Phoenix, and have been able to write some .APP files to it - which has at the very least got it booting into eRecovery, rather than the boot loop it had before, but is still not fully booting.
It looks like I might need the full, original firmware, in order to proceed?
And I've got about 68 hours left to flash using DC-Phoenix, or I'll have to spend another €15!
Yes you download the original firmware unzip it and put it in the "dload" folder of SD card then do a force update. Hold all the buttons vol + vol - and power

Issue with P9 after rooting - possible brick?

Hey guys,
This is a bit of a long one so please bear with me...
I have an EU EVA-L09 which was running EVA-L09C432B166 unrooted and with a locked bootloader. I decided to unlock it which I did successfully (Fastboot was showing both Phone & FRP as unlocked) and flashed TWRP on to it as well as BETA-SuperSU-v2.65.
After a few days with my stock email app not working and Battery Settings unaccessable since rooting (not to mention the warning message every time I booted my phone) I decided it wasn't worth it and wanted to remove it all and go back to stock. I was struggling to find a stock rom due to being impatient and just removed root via SuperSU app on my phone.
I found a stock recovery image which I tried to flash on to the phone using the BAT file (PASO 3 VOLVER A RECOVERY STOCK) which didn't seem to work. I also tried to do it via cmd line and was faced with "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)." I also noticed that FRP was showing as locked now in fastboot. I did unlock it using DC Unlocker but it's still displaying as locked (after some research on the forum this seems normal.)
I tried to update to Nougat 7.0 by Wiping in TWRP and then installing Update.zip from another thread on this forum. This worked great but stupidly I forgot to install the EU pack zip which accompanied it before rebooting. Unfortunately this has now installed a limited version of Nougat on to the phone whilst simultaneously removing TWRP so I can't install the other zip.
I have tried to install the other zip and some old firmware using dload method but I always get stuck on 5%. I have also tried flashing TWRP again but I am facing the same , ""FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)" error. The error is also displayed when I try to re-lock the bootloader. The bootloader is definitely unlocked as I have checked with cmd line & the warning message is still being displayed on booting up. I have USB debugging enabled but am unable to enable OEM Unlock due to the option being greyed out (seems to be the case when FRP is unlocked.)
I can't do any updates using 3 button technique they all get stuck on 5%. I can't submit any flash commands in cmd.exe without getting the "command not allowed error."
There is a bit of hope because I can boot in to Nougat but it's very limited with no apps and no keyboard.
Can anybody help?

Hey @jcalderonv74 thank you for the response. I have just re-tried to do that on your suggestion and with the intermediate UPDATE.app in the dload folder on my external SD I get to the stage of the 3 button start up as per the instructions and Installing Update gets stuck on 5%.
I have noticed I do have access to stock recovery using "adb reboot recovery" command.
Any more ideas?

Hi, yeah I did use the rollback package @xtcislove and it would just get stuck on 5% using the dload method, and trying to flash it in command line would result in "Command not allowed".

Ok just for completion and anybody who is having the same issues as I have had with the same or similar model of P9, this is how I solved it (after a day without sleep and a couple of migraines). Please note this is only to be used if you have exhausted all other, free options on this forum as this is slightly risky and costs money. It's a last resort.
What you'll need:
- HiSuite installed but closed on your PC
- USB cable to connect phone to PC
- DC-Phoenix with an account with 15 credits (15 Euro)
- The DC-Phoenix guide opened at "Method 2"
- Firmware .img file from their database by clicking "Enter Support Area" button in DC-Phoenix (EVA-AL10_M00A056_Factory_firmware_Global_Nonspecific_Android_6.0_EMUI_4.1.dgtks)
- Stock firmware as an .app file on an SDCard in a folder named "dload" (I used EVA-L09C432B182 (UPDATE.APP))
Method:
1. Copy the official stock firmware .app file to your SDCard inside a folder named "dload".
2. Remove SDCard & Sim Card from the phone.
3. Put your phone in to Fastboot (Turn off phone, hold volume(down), insert usb cable).
4. Load DC-Phoenix and select Fastboot mode.
5. Click "IMG Files" tab and locate the .dgtks file using the "Config or recovery file:" field.
6. DO NOT uncheck the boxes next to "Not erase NV" and "Not erase oeminfo" as this will delete your IMEI and other information completely.
7. Click UPDATE and wait for it to fully finish (you may see an error regarding FBlocks but it should still go on to complete).
8. Once you see it is completed, disconnect phone from PC and restart the phone by holding the power button.
9. This should load you in to a very basic firmware (it may take one or two reboots to achieve this).
10. Insert your SDCard with the newer, official, stock firmware that you want on the phone in to the SDCard slot WITHOUT SimCard.
11. On your phone home you should see an icon named "Upgrade" or "Upgrade/Update Phone" on the first page. (I've forgotten the exact name of the icon but it will be obvious to you).
12. Click that icon and it should go ahead and install the firmware .app on to the phone off your SDCard.
After following the on screen instructions you should now be back to stock firmware. I recommend re-locking your bootloader now using fastboot and your unlock key if you are trying to do so. If you go on to update to Nougat 7.0 before locking your bootloader back up you won't be able to do so without downgrading back to the same firmware that was on your phone when you originally unlocked it.)
Hope this helps somebody who is stuck and exhausted every other avenue with nothing left to lose.
Danny
I had a similar issue after doing this :- unlock bootloader...root MM....Upgrade to Nougat...root...Rollback to MM...root...Upgrade to Nougat.. borked!!!
I was left with a phone that only booted to bootloader and no recovery or possibility of flashing with dload worked.
Luckily DC Phoenix got it into a usable state where i could enter erecovery and flash Nougat again. Seems the backdoor method they use to load the OS, at least at a low level, is very effective!
There's probably a lesson here, but I've never had a phone so easily bricked....
Thanks :good:
Peace

If you go on to update to Nougat 7.0 before locking your bootloader back up you won't be able to do so without downgrading back to the same firmware that was on your phone when you originally unlocked it.)
Hope this helps somebody who is stuck and exhausted every other avenue with nothing left to lose.

Dear DCStreamer,
I tried to follow your procedures with my Huawei tablet but don't work: where I wrong?

(Tutorial) Recovering a P10/P10+ Brick

Here’s what you need to fix your P10/P10+ brick.
This method was tested on a bricked P10 (didn’t test on the P10+)
Bootloader already unlocked + Code (no need of twrp)
SD Card
Custom recovery (fix the entire update process)
Stock rom UPDATE.APP from update.zip and update_full_xxx-xxx_hw_xx.zip
for your P10 + P10+ (choose the one you want to install, no need to be the one that come from with your P10, it could be the most recent one but linked to your exact model)
Be patient
Extract the stock rom update.zip and update_full_xxx-xxx_hw_xx.zip, both have an UPDATE.APP,
we are going to flash the one from the update.zip first and repeat the same process for the update_full_xxx-xxx_hw_xx.zip one.
(1)Get ready your SD card
Insert your SD card on the PC, create a folder at the root and name this one dload, move the update.APP from the update.zip
to the dload folder.
(2)Boot your phone in fastboot (Hold Vol- + Power) USB cable need to be plug
Launch terminal on OSX or Windows with adb/fastboot
Write the command fastboot flash recovery customrecovery.img
(3) Before rebooting your phone, insert your sd card that contain dload folder (update.app stock rom from update.zip) inside your P10/P10+
Turn off your P10/P10+
(4) Unplug the USB cable and hold vol+/vol- 5 to 10 sec or (until you see the message this device can not be trusted)
(5)Now the custom recovery updater should trigger and your P10/P10+ is updating, wait until 100% (it restart by itself).
(6)Your P10/P10+ should now boot without problem (bootloader locked)
(7) Is not finish yet, you are going to face NRD90M Test-keys that is normal, you simply need to
flash your cust.
(8) For that, we repeat the same process than before but instead of using the update.app from update.zip, you use the one from update_full_xxx-xxx_hw_xx.zip and replace the one you have on your sd card (dload folder)
(9)reboot your P10/P10+ in fastboot (with of course USB cable plug and hold vol- + power)
There you simply write the command, fastboot oem unlock yourcode. Your phone is going to reset to unlock back your bootloader and you need to go back to fastboot
(10) after that, you reflash again the recovery with customrecovery.img using the command fastboot flash recovery customrecovery.img
and you reboot again in the custom recovery mode (same than before) there the P10/P10+ is updating again, take a few secs
(11) the P10/P10+ will restart and boot in the UI, congrats.:good::good:
P.S : This process was not possible without proper change in recovery and manipulation, hopefully it help you
to recover your brick.

This sound interesting if this method is working both P10 and P10+. It mean that we can rebrand all of L09 models to L29 easily. Am i right? No more FunkyHuawei.

I have a problem, my P10 boots and lets me configure like it's the first time, but doesn't go anywhere from there, just keeps asking the same stuff... Pls help :/

Not sure about the rebranding, for that you need to mod your oem info and product/vendor id.
There is no need of FunkyHuawei, I actually don't support those kind of forcing.

Question about the bootloader relock
the command to relock is fastboot oem relock yourcode.
Now about your issue, did you try a wipe cache/wipe factory/reset, go into the stock recovery and do a wipe cache/wipe factory reset.

Thanks about the relock command. I'll try it when I recover my phone.
I tried that, but it's like I don't have the full system installed, I tried a "full" ROM on the first flash, but I don't think it was actually a full rom, it was too small, I wanted to try another one, but the file being over 4gb I can't even copy it to a fat32 sd card... If I find another version that is a little smaller, maybe I could try, but now I only have erecovery, can't access anything else, hope it's enough.

I'm having the same problem, can someone send me the files to the VTR-L09 C432? Or maybe the VTR-L29 if my phone supports it, I'd like the dual sim feature.
Just to make sure I'm using the right firmware.
If I find a solution I'll share it here as well btw.

Does it work for P10 Plus (VKY) ? I only see VTR oeminfo/recoveries files in the zip.
Edit : I went ahead and renamed everything in the VTR folder to VKY (except for eominfo files, since I just want to update), and it worked ! Updated from VKY-L29C432B123 to B130
Hi all,
I have the same issue software install failed right after 5%. Did anyone get past this?
What other files other than update in dload folder need to be present?
Thanks

I think it is the FULL OTA required.
I still cannot get mine to go past 5% stage.

Really interested in this one too. Do you have any additional information please? As I just have plan to pull the trigger on funkyhuawei method during the next weekend... But of course I would rather use this manual method if possible.
Guys, did you flash the custom recovery before trying to update.
You really need to flash the stock recovery with the custom recovery, this fix the 5% update fail.
You can also flash recovery2 with.

Write that you need to extract customrecovery.img from customrecovery.zip. That would be understandable.
Hi,
does this work - i bricked my Huawei P10 with VTR-L29C432B113 firmware like this
Installed TWRP and i flashed magisk.zip -> that worked for a while
But on next phone reboot it says there is no space on the storage 0%
Now i cant do anything - phone is not usable..
Exept booting twrp and fastboot&rescue mode wich shows
PHONE unlocked
FRP Lock
When i try to
fastboot flash boot boot.img it says that stupid message command not allowed..
I tried to put in a SD Card with the folder dload and an update.app on it in and tried to flash it via VOL+ and VOL- but that fails
Does the provided method work or what can i do?
Thanks! chrizz

[Solved]Bricked. Can't recover stock ROM after installing TWRP 3.1.0-3. Nothing works

I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and managed to install TWRP 3.1.0-3 but that's about it. I cannot install any other TWRP version but the one I mentioned. I tried installing Magic Rainbow custom ROM but it doesn't work properly (apps are super slow, entering developer settings makes the settings app crash, can't set a password etc.). So with that I can at least access the phone interface with limited options. Developer settings crashes when I choose it; if I can get through then I can't enable USB debugging, it keeps turning itself off right as I enable it. I can't use update function so I have to use 3 button installation, which randomly fails to work very often. Due to this I haven't been able to install any updates.
I kinda gave up on rooting already, I just want to get my old firmware back at this point but I can't even do that. SRKTools stock marshmallow recovery doesn't work either. It's as if TWRP 3.1.0 has taken over everything. On the rare occasions that I managed to get EMUI update via 3 button installation it would say that the update doesn't match the current version (or something like that). I tried using recover for b378 and managed to run the 3 button update but it always gets stuck at 5%. It gives up after a while, tries booting twice and then goes into eRecovery screen. My bootloader PHONE unlocked text is in red if it matters.
I've been actively trying to fix this for the last 11 hours (yes I'm not exaggerating at all). Please, PLEASE someone help me out with this!
I've also tried using the unbrick tool of the latest SRK Tool 2.0 for b378. It goes flawless, phone restarts and does a factory wipe but then doesn't boot after the Huawei screen. It tries booting twice and then it goes into eRecovery screen. Have I ruined some hardware here?
It seems like 3 button upgrade is my salvation and it doesn't work. Many times I hold it down, I get a slightly different screen but it again hangs at booting text. I managed to flash all recovery, boot and system image files and got the installing update screen in my b378 update, but it hangs at 5%. I couldn't even manage to get the installing update screen for common b136. Also when I try to flash system.img I get an error with flashing system which is FAILED (remote:sparse flash write failure).
First at all: The Magic Rainbow custom ROM is based on B383 so it wont work on B378 firmware thats your fault here.
Just flash the rollback package (find it in my signature) and after this flash B383 or if it not work start with B136. U have to do all with the dload method.
Fast solution?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/p9-moonlight-rom-v1-0-b378-stock-t3567223
flash the B378 version. probably your problem is solved by this.
I'm very well aware that Magic Rainbow doesn't work with b378. That's probably the reason I have those issues with it. But it's the only way I can access the phone's interface in case I need to use it for a fix.
I tried flashing b378 already multiple times, without rollback and it did not work. Is it safe to use the rollback though? My oem is c432, would it create any issues to use that? Should I flash c900 oem first or can I go with the rollback right away? I literally cannot install any stock rom without having frozen/looping bootscreen atm so I can't complete any step that requires me to do that.
I've also tried flashing b136 plenty of times already. I can't even flash the system.img. I can't flash the system of any of the b100 series.

u tried the rom i mentioned?
it is safe to use the rollback package. any firmware after will retrive your oem to c432. so you dont need to flash the oem info package.
1. flash rollback package via dload (watch out to have only the UPDATE.APP file in dload folder)
2. flash B383 via dload (2 files need to be flashed!)
3. flash special SuperSU_for_EMUI5.zip
4. have fun
again if u can boot magic rom then you can flash and use Moonlight rom v1.0

I cannot flash rollback using 3 buttons method. I see the "your device is booting now" text and then it goes to TWRP menu. Nothing happens. This is what I mean with 3 button method not working. Every single update fails probably because of this. Is there anything else I can do to flash it?
I've also tried flashing b378 and then doing the rollback. Still doesn't work: It hangs at 5% as it did with the b378 update.
Also, is there a special way of flashing those 2 files of b383? Is it just one after another? I doubt I can flash them at the same time since they have the same name.
YES IT WORKED! Thank you the rollback actually made the difference. I had to go for b136 and then upgrade manually through there with the stock OS though. And I believe rollback changed the status to LOCKED instead of RELOCKED. And I was a complete moron for I couldn't do 3 button update because my cable was still plugged in. I had a moment of epiphany when I noticed what the symbol actually represents. It was like discovering who Keyser Soze was lol. Let this idiocy stay here for there might be others like me; this way they might fix it without embarrassing themselves like I did.
Glad it worked for you.
Next time just read the threads in this forum.
There are several toturials how to flash the p9 the right way.

Every time I try to flash, with 3 buttons method, it puts me "software install failed"
I tried to flash official rom with twrp but he can't finish the process.
I tried to flash custom rom. When I want to boot, he bootloop.
Hi,
I am at a complete loss and going round in circles. My phone has bootlocker unlocked message at moment. In adb fastboot devices finds the phone, but the SRK tool fails to find it sticking on 'waiting for phone'. I tried to flasg the Huawei rollback but that fails (presumably due to being unlocked). I cannot relock via fastboot as that gives 'remote: command not allowed' error.
Update
- I have just checked fastboot - it says Phone Unlocked & FRP Unlock.
- Next I used Huawei Update Extractor to get boot, recovery, cust & system img from the "HUAWEI_P9_Firmware_EVA-L09_Andriod 6.0_EMUI 4.1_C432B166_United Kingdom_Channel-Others" Package.
It seems I still cannot boot and device still says unlocked etc..
Update 2 :-
Copied the dload/update.app file from the HUAWEI_P9_Firmware_EVA-L09_Andriod 6.0 zip. Managed to get it to start installing, only to get Software Install Failed msg. However reboot let me start the phone. So currently have Build No: EVA-L09C432B166 on.
At this point I just want my phone either back to initial factory state or able to flash roms, whichever is easier to get to. Any help greatly appreciated. I've been getting nowhere following guides I have found, so would really appreciate some help here.
Thank You

Ok first of all, using TWRP back up everything you have there (backing up SD card isn't really needed unless you plan to wipe it too). Then, using TWRP again just wipe everything but OEM and SD card (external storage). Then, create a folder called "dload" in the main SD card directory and put ONLY the update.app in it (use the stock b136 as suggested). Now you need to flash a stock recovery using bootloader again. Just use the Huawei Update Extractor and get both recovery.img and boot.img from the rom that you're using to flash (in this case b136). Put them in the same folder as adb. Run adb cmd, write commands "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and then "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and finally "fastboot reboot". Quickly unplug your usb cable and use the 3 button force update (Vol Up+Vol Down+Power button all held together and don't let go until you see the update start). It should work without a problem if you had managed to wipe everything using TWRP. If it still doesn't work you could try deleting OEM info as well and flashing a new one (c432) which you can find on the forums. Back up is important in case it still doesn't work, you might need them to undo things.
If it boots, it means you've learned how to do it and you can probably unbrick it as much as you want haha. You can update to Nougat (7.0) and EMUI 5 using Huawei Updater 2.0 along with HiSuite, there is a guide here on the forums to do so by updating to b182 then to b360/b361>b378>b383 which I was unable to find for now. After that you can install a custom rom without an issue. I figured I wouldn't mess with it anymore but frankly it's likely that you are just soft bricking by skipping something very simple and failing because of that unless you went ahead and did things that you are explicitly told not to do so. If you end up having it unlocked/relocked might as well try and get a custom rom really.
If the update gets stuck at 5% or you have the icon of a usb cable end with a lightning on it your mistake is that you didn't unplug it. If the update keeps failing without these it's likely that you're using the wrong firmware and you could try using another one (FULL+PV+MV ones if you're going for a higher one). Or you could try to follow the rollback and then the update as I did. if you do the rollback then the update, your phone might get a LOCKED status again (yes not relocked).
If you are missing something or you think you have a stupid question and too shy to ask it here just PM me.

Thank You

So you're saying that you're able to boot your phone on stock b166? Then update it to b182 first. I had to keep pressing the check update for a while before it popped up. I was busy at the time so I didn't mind the wait time but I bet you can do it faster forcefully, got to be a guide around here somewhere. Here is the guide to update it all the way to b383 from b182.

I'm on B166 currently. Phone tells me it has update for B182, on reboot I get the device unlocked message and it sticks on 'Your device is booting now'.
Also tried Huawei updater....that sticks at 'Listened on Port 41279'
Thanks

Getting the device unlocked message shouldn't indicate anything, only that you didn't lock it again. It might be that you didn't install your current rom correctly. You could try flashing TWRP, backing up everything and then wiping all of it f. It means you'll be romless for a while but worst case you can recover what you backed up with TWRP and then flash it with a stock rom again. There are guides to flashing everywhere and I've made my own guide here. I can't really give you advice on your situation since I haven't ever been there. I just dabble with these things, so I can't really find a solution for everything.
You are connected to HiSuite while running Huawei Updater right? It needs to be able to see your phone (usb debugging on or HDB mode) and set to usage via proxy.

Thanks for your help. Where do you set the usage to via proxy? Perhaps thats my issue.

Run HiSuite. Make sure your phone is connected to it. Top right you'll see 4 buttons: 3 horizontal stripes, minimise, full screen and X. Press 3 stripes one and choose settings. In the first tab called General under the 4th section you'll see Proxy. Enable it and enter 127.0.0.1 for address and the given listening port as the port. Leave the username and password blank. Press apply. Then you probably have to choose the system upgrade from the main screen of HiSuite. I don't recall exactly but this is about how it goes.

Many Thanks
I managed to flash B360_update.zip via recovery instead. I also have a B360_update_data_full_hw_eu.zip but not sure what that is for.

Partly bricked my EVA-L09

Hi guys,
I bricked my phone trying to dowgrade my phone using SD card and update.app files.
My phone has unlocked bootloader with TWRP recovery and unfortunatelly turned OFF USB debugging.
I have copied rollback package to sdcard and entered Software Upgrate Mode with Vol+ Vol- and power keys. After getting 100% my phone rebooted and now stays in menu with warning text that my phone has been unlocked. I'm trying all the options i have in this menu but my phone always frooze on sceen saying "Your device is booing now...". I can also open fastboot menu but fastboot command prompt says: FAILED (remote: Command not allowed) I think reason of this error is blocked debugging . My Question is if is there any chance to turn on debugging in bricked phone or any other method to flash stock firmware or recovery ?

Did you first use Rollback package (about 100MB)? And afterwards whole software dload method?
It is odd, because after correct procedure your bootloader will be LOCKED not UNLOCKED as you wrote...

I only used first (the one you write about) out of two packages, i think bootloader probably will lock after succesfull boot procedure, my phone only restart into boot menu after aplying first pack and stuck there.
This is link to photo of this menu (delete space).

After rollback package you should flash this one:
https://mega.nz/#!kFhnEA6S!OjP6yXFtliK4XDRHLNIAKgxpf0gmhEeksDr_fjja0oY
I do not remember if you have to unzip it but anyway, put it on SD card in dload folder and perform [Power off, Vol +,Vol-]. When screen blackens release only Power button. That should do the trick. Your bootloader will be LOCKED.

I didn't write clearly but of course I've tried to flash the second pack, I've tried two different versions and yours, but phone only freezes at this screen.

Okay, I see now. Which was the second build number you mentioned? Do you have EVA-L09C432? From which ROM did you do the Rollback procedure, custom or stock?

I was on C432, I tried downgrade from official B391 ROM. Rollback packs which I used were from trusted Polish forum (I made this two times before and everything was good). Both are with B182 firmware. Problem is that I can not force phone to run recovery, probably something messed up because of TWRP which was installed.
