Since I got the phone I reset it 3 times, all this while, the Google Fit app on my phone is tracking my walks and runs correctly, but on the watch it always shows zero. I suspect the ZenFit watchapp maybe hijacking the data, but enabling disabling sensor permission doesn't seem to have any effect on any of the apps. I ideally want to disable zenfit, that I could probably achieve via ADB. And I would also want to Google Fit to run only on my watch, as I don't want battery drain on the phone. Is it feasible to set up like that? Please suggest any fixes or workarounds.
Solution
I am confident that I have finally found the universal solution. I checked my Watch Fit apk version using Advanced settings app from here. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sssemil.advancedsettings
Found that wear fit apk version was much lower than what version phone had. Grabbed latest wear fit apk from here. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ss-tracking-1-63-09-200-android-apk-download/
Connected watch via ADB and installed manually using this command
Code:
adb install -r googleFit.apk
Voila! Everything showed up on watch instantly. Even history of days I didn't have phone fit app installed.

IYO, does uninstalling apk with Advanced settings and reinstall with the sync from phone work as well?

I'm not really confident about the inbuilt apk sync. I mean how ridiculous is that the apk wasn't updated on watch even though I installed Fit on phone 2-3 days ago and had done "Resync" also. Either the sync is so pathetic by design or the Fit apk is bugged so that it doesn't get auto pushed.
If you're not comfortable with adb via wire, try ADB over Bluetooth and maybe you can do from phone also. The command will remain the same.

If you don't mind spending under $10 USD, there is an app on the Play Store that I used to pair mine with my G3. It's called Gear 2 Superfixer by Creatix Digital. Just download, follow the instructions precisely and you shoud be good to go. You DON'T need to root to use it. With that app, I am able to make and receive phone calls. There are limitations due to needing Samsung stuff, but it is pretty much all you need. It will have the correct version of Gear Manager as well. Good Luck.

I am not rooted, but this DOES work with rooted. It is encouraged as a step in the use of this app/info. Being not rooted, I did not try to download any apps AND I am using a LG G Watch at the same time. You may be able to download some, but I doubt Samsung specific apps, nor can you install the Samsung Apps apk AFAIK.

what version of gear manager did u use? I have a LG G2 that pairs fine with the Galaxy Gear 2 neo.. I use the Gear manager version 2.1.14xxxxx.. Anything from 2.2.xxxx does not work as the apk (which is only about 8mb or so) tries to download more files and it fails since this is not a samsung phone..
The drawback is that I can use the Gear as a standalone smart watch only for notifications.. I cannot get alarm, weather nor can I put S health or S voice on my phone..
*Nudge* to see if anyone has come up with a solution...
A few days back my watch (Neo) stopped synching with S Health (long after updating the app and Gear Manager) - it just happened out of the blue. No reboots were able to fix this so I thought (yeah, should have known Samsung better) that if I reinstall S Health it might work again. BTW: all other sync activities DO work between the watch and my Note 3.
Lo and behold, after "Uninstalling app updates" I found myself stuck with S Health 2.5 (pre- Gear 2) and definitely NO way to sync as it takes me to a page to "update your Gear Manager to a new version" - which I already have.
Needless to say that S health reports "This is the most recent version" when I try to force an update. The app is NOWHERE to be found on their market. I tried the old "fitness" app (superseded by S Health later) and that doesn't work either for an update.
Last but not least I did try to unpair and pair again...no luck. I didn't factory default the watch as the problem is clearly on the phone side.
I started reading that this synchronization has been reported as broken by many....wonder how many here have the issue (pedometer, sleep, etc)?
Second...can a merciful soul upload S Health 3.5.1 maybe I can sideload it to my phone? Cheers!
/RANT: no wonder Apple is eating Samsung's lunch (even at home in SK) as I have not seen such a clusterf... of apps not working/pulled from market, updates that never arrive, etc. Bad, bad customer experience....100% disappointed with Samsung.
wipe the slate clean...and go on hating Samsung
Sort of fixed it...
Installed the 3.1 S Health version from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2750381&highlight=s+health&page=2
That was NOT synching either...so I thought I need to bite the bullet and wipe clean all the data from the watch and Gear Manager....that DID IT.
Super painful as I had a ton of apps and customizations and my life is better spent having fun rather than fiddling with the phone and watch, but ...that only makes me swear I will ditch Samsung next time around.
Hope this helps someone...someday
/EDIT Ok, that effing didn't last. Not only I lost most of my watch apps (how the [email protected] do I get them back when I cannot uninstall/re-install them ) including Watch Styler.
And the pedometer claims to sync but now it doesn't transfer any data.
[email protected] you Samsung.
Just in case....mind posting a 3.5 S Health if you have it?
Thanks

Well I suppose I have to thank myself. How I got S Health 3.5.5 back:
1. uninstalled Galaxy Apps update (back to ROm original version)
2. uninstalled any S Health updates
3. Allowed Galaxy Apps update
4. In my "Purchased" apps I found now thta S Health shows up and indicates an update is available
5. Forced the update and had to reconfigure my profile (lost all data) despite having a backup.
Hope this helps someone else fighting this horrible app.
Do you still have the synchronizing issue with S-Health? I cannot synchronize since the last update. Nobody seems to have this issue on this forum, but in France I know that a lot of people have this problem.

I had a similar issue after my S5 was upgraded to Lollipop. Turns out, I missed an Gear Manager upgrade along the way. Upgraded to the latest Gear Manager and that seemed to work. Now there is a firmware upgrade for the Gear 2 Neo that seems to make it work even better. Latest software: Gear 2 Neo - R381XXU0BOA2, Gear Manager - 2.2.15011799. S Health - 3.5.5.0036. I started searching trough the smali code to find out more about "Requested parameter [languageCode:nob] is undefined value."
Suddenly I thought "am I just making this more difficult than it is? I'll start by changing the language of the phone to English!"
And badabing.. suddenly S Health for the first time was syncing with my Samsung account... (attachment)
since many of the class call use langcode it wouldn't surprise me if missing langcodes could be a fundamental flaw in the S Health app design.

Mine is English too...always was. BUT...that being said, after the steps I listed above, sync seems to be working fine (knock on wood).
Samsung being Samsung, despite NOT having a scheduled sync set up, I do get a midnight notification "Please open the mobile app and set up a user profile" if no manual sync was done that day. Makes ZERO sense, as I do (obviously) have a profile and why on Earth would it tell me to open the "S Health mobile app" on the phone itself...it's not like I have one on the watch too. Semantics...
I just got my new LG Watch R. Works fine with my iPhone 6. I can read messages and swipe them away, no promblems there.
Now i would like to use my new watch with sports. Is there any way to install endomundo or something on the watch? Its not neccesary at all to connect endomondo with the iPhone, but i just want to see my speed etc on the watch.
Besides this i have a problem installing watch faces. If i want to install a watchface from the Android wear app it doesn't install anything.

You don't need to root. Just find the phone APK file, rename it to ZIP, find the mobile APK file inside the res/raw folder, and use adb install on it.
This post is about getting a customized watchmaker onto the watch, but you can do the same and skip the part about modifying the APK

Hi everyone!
Made a small stand alone program that will connect, display & change your DPI for any android device with USB Debugging activated and appropriate drivers installed.
Backstory:
It seems Im one of the unlucky ones with a currently un-rootable H831 and I had wanted to change allot on this phone on the system level. One of the current mods I always implemented was a DPI change.
DPI change on a non-rooted phone is not a problem and is outlined here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/help/how-to-change-dpi-root-t3351366 and is using adb commands to do so.
** But I wanted an easier way to change my DPI and have reference to density & resolution without using ADB and cmd commands all the time. Also my wife can change her DPI like this on any PC without hassle. Therefore I wrote this little program that will display density, resolution and allow you to change it on your phone easily by just running it stand-alone. Since I put the effort into it already, thought I would share & maybe someone could use it the way my wife and I are
Anywho, I also attached some operational screenshots.

Hm... I may have to try a new DPI again then. I know SwiftKey used to have issues whenever the DPI was changed to where the keyboard would appear very magnified but still worked as normal, you just couldn't see which keys you were pressing. If SwiftKey now supports different DPIs, I guess I'll have to try changing mine again! Any chance you can post a screenshot with SwiftKey open?
Is it possible to change the actual resolution to achieve more performance and battery using this program?
Good workaround! However, the always-on display is distorted. Is there a way to fix this?

Solution? to what? an over paranoid antivirus program lol!
Dude, In order to get an ADB terminal working I obviously need the ADB DLLs and my program when executed plops the 2 DLLs needed into a temp folder and also keeps ADB sevice open on the system. An antivirus program sees the dropped dlls and the live system service running as suspicious, but believe me its not.

Yes, There are commands using ADB that can change the render resolution mode so I would need to program it in as an option. Maybe I could look into adding that in the future.

No fix for this. You would need a rooted phone and that service framework modded on the system level to even attempt to fix DPI issues with the always-on display. Workaround - deactivate it, or see if there are any third party ones.
Awesome thanks. Just got my H831 today. Sad there is no root yet.

If you have no root, then you have to re-install the GPS every time its update.
If not, then you won't get the app working.
If you're rooted user, then you can use the lucky patcher in my case and searching for update in GPS and then disable the package.
In my case, I used the following step below based on my experienced:

Already using this for months and no auto update for Google Play Services. But I'm using GPS 12.6.85 with the AA mirror and Android Auto 3.2.58 on rooted devices. And I'm not using the carstream again but using AA mirror and I can play youtube or even all of the apps on my phone in the head unit. FYI the carstream won't work in my version. I haven't tried it though.
Always Have a full functional Backup. Just in case!
