NFC osaifu keitai remotely locked - Sony Xperia ZR

I have the docomo version aka xperia A. And I don't live in Japan. It's running jellybean.
This notification that NFC is remotely locked Osaify keitai... never goes away unless i force stop the NFC app.. And NFC won't work.. Any way to reset the lock?

It won't work outside Docomo's network, although you've live in Japan but use other provider. And if you live outside Japan it is impossible to do much more with it. I am Indonesian and user of ZR docomo version aka SO-4E. NFC (Osaifu Keitai) doesn't work, it has same result if you use global rom of ZR. The NFC is useless

i have the same problem, hence I live in Fiji.

Hi. I live in Indonesia and owns a fully unlocked Xperia SO-02G.
I don't really get what is Osaifu-Keitai since I never used it. But, mine is not locked (even I, can create a passcode for it).
I can only think of it as a card emulator(and i think i'm wrong) that it would be very unsafe to be able to duplicate any card. So, i guess it doesn't work in another country without even having it locked?

[Q] Unlocking the phone without ATT?? Removing Xperiment Root/Backup.

Hello,
So I need some help big time. :crying:I bought my sony xperia TL from Ebay back in beginning of August.( mistake for not getting a non-returnable, phone. But hey its ebay and didn't want a contract phone. ) My current carrier right now is Simple Mobile with a good unlimited everything plan. So i bought the phone as an upgrade to my current service. I had no retailer in my city to unlock this phone. ( it used to be that you can bring any phone to this service and they will unlock it for free regardless what the status of the phone) I had to do to another cell phone shop that usually unlocks phones. They unlocked my Xperia X10 before so I thought i give it to them again. I gave them my phone to unlock but they couldn't. Told me I had to buy an unlock code to unlock the phone. I bought that but they were not able to unlock. So after recieving my phone, the retailer was asked to submit a video showing us physically unlocking the code. The retailer didn't wanna do it told me to do it since I paid for it. So i submitted the video, but the company providing the unlock code said I they couldn't help if its hard locked. I'm like "wtf??????????" .
So a friend suggested that I get a friend to use to my phone (Xperia TL) to an origianl ATT customer and insert their Sim Let them use it for a week and they should get you the unlock code. When we inserted the ATT sim, it worked like a charm. After a week or two, we called ATT, they informed us that the phone was good to be unlocked and it required 36-48 hours. However, they do not unlock throught the phone anymore. You have to go on the ATT website att.com/unlock (something something) . When we tried that, it said the phone was not able to be unlocked.
Now this phone has another thing, it has some flash version of Xperiment pre-loaded on to it. I'm not sure if this is why ATT or the unlock codes are not working? If it is, then I would like to know a way of reboot the phone to get rid of Xperiment Software so I can use my codes to Unlock the damn phone and use on my Simple Mobile carrier. I've downloaded the Sony PC companion version to try to get reboot and reset the software but the stupid program wants me to insert the Sim and the use the unlock codes. Anyway I delete the software without destroying my phone's software, so that phone itself and/or PC companion recognizes the Simple Mobile SIM without asking for unlock codes?
I'm down $210+ in the hole for a phone I didn't use yet. I didn't plan on spending this much but if there is way it can be saved, i'd like to keep the phone. I doubt i get the same money back if I tried to sell it. It's been on CL/ebay for 3 weeks but no serious buyers. Its in great condition, but I need to know if I can reset the PHONE all the way and get rid of the Xperiment, and use the unlock codes to unlock the phone to use on my carrier?:crying:

is Z3C docomo japan version worth buying ?

i found it on ebay for a very good price
http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNLOCKED-SO...008?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339ce86cd8
is it any different then the international version software and hardware wise?
is it possible to flash international or custom roms on it?
what do ppl think is this version worth buying?
i'm using z3c docomo. since december, docomo z3cs were sold on taobao, and a lot of ppl in china are using it.
yes, you can flash international version roms using flash tools.
afaik, there is no official bootloader unlock of docomo z3cs,but giefroot with locked bootloader is possible.
but, since the nfc chip is different between docomo and international versions, using a non-docomo rom will break nfc, and you must adb block com.android.nfc or you will get battery drain.
block nfc will lose features like android beam, cause play memories mobile app to fc(i guess so),and turn on ultra stamina mode will be a bootloop.
also, i feel the touch is a bit too sensitive ,eg. in system setting, the list sometimes scroll a bit when you lifting up your finger.
someone has reported that touchscreen is normal when using a docomo rom, but i doubt it, because there are some reports in this forum about touch issues of international versions.
finally, the docomo logo on back panel is not as nice looking as sony's, but you can change the back panel by yourself.

i am using Z3c docomo version. i flashed my z3c using international version rom. after flashed it, NFC cannot be turn off. @defia there is 'R' symbol on status bar which means roaming on my network. even it was roaming, i don't get any extra charge. but it is litle bit annoying to see that symbol show up in status bar instead of 'H','H+','LTE',etc..
is it band related? because when i check it, it has JAPAN band, there is no options for another bands.

i don't see the roaming symbol on my phone..
maybe you should check carrier settings?
you should manually block nfc, or you will have battery drain.

Do you know if this version of the phone will work on Docomo's network in Japan? I'm looking to use it with an MVNO that uses Docomo's network while I'm in Japan.
it worth if you could handle all the bugs
Any solution for "always roaming"?

Hello!
Did you managed to get rid of the roaming (R) icon above the signal bars?
I know there is also the NFC problem, but that one doesn't bother me, I don't use the NFC functionality so I disabled it and there are no problems.
Roaming problem on the other hand, whenever I disable the Wi-Fi or I go out of the Wi-Fi coverage area, I keep seeing the notification:
"Data Roaming"
"No connection. Data roamning is off."
I have tried all suggested solutions from different sources and none of them worked:
1. Installed various firmwares (D5803, D5833, Global, Central Europe, USA, etc) - I live in Romania, Europe and I use "orange" oprator. (no luck)
Extra info: I also tried the branded firmware from Orange Romania but didn't work, still roaming...
URL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706
2. Rooted (with 4.4.4 and also with 5.0.2). (no luck)
Extra info: I just rooted the firmwares from D5803, didn't try the original firmware SO-02G.
URL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
3. Updated radio bands (Before I was seeing only JAPAN band, now after update I see them all EURO Band, JAPAN Band, US Band, etc) but unfortunately... (no luck)
Extra info: *#*#4636#*#* -> See screenshot
URL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...ad-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269
I ran out of options, if anybody can suggest other things I could try to get rid of the Roaming I would be really grateful
Thank you!
I have the same problem, my z3 compact is from Japan, Docomo SO-02G, I cannot seem to remove the annoying Data Roaming notification. I also checked the GSM/UMTS Setting, only Japan Setting was available. Anyone with a fix for this?
Possible solution

Someone answered me in another thread but I didn't have time to try the solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...5803-d5833-t2906706/post59968746#post59968746
Are u now using Z3c docomo version ? If yes, it means that your current carrier's network is not registered in the phone (or something like that). All you have to do is root, install xposed then run the module name "National roaming" then you can get rid of the Roaming icon, actually it's not affect to the phone's battery or anything, just the display icon problem.

Please let me know if it works for you.
I'm kinda a new user and I'm still trying to learn my way around rooting and all that stuff. My phone is not rooted yet, so I guess I'm still so far away from getting to the solution. But it's comforting to hear that there is a solution, although not yet tested but I am optimistic about it.
BTW, you said you are already rooted, I would love it if you would update this thread after you try to suggested fix.
I'm still learning how to do the rooting, and I'm not the fast learner type.. hehe..
by the way is your phone a NTT Docomo SO-02G also?

Yes, my phone is also NTT Docomo SO-02G and I hate it already! Just because of the two problems (NFC + Roaming) but at least I am grateful that due to this problems I was forced to learn so many things and managed to install various firmwares, root, upgrade basebands...
Believe me, I was a an iOS (iPhone 4, 4S, 5) user for the past 3 years so this means a lot to me (managing to do stuff on Android) )
I will give it a try tonight and then I will let you know if it works
The problem is I have installed and rooted Lolipop and unfortunately there is no stable version of xPosed for Lolipop, only an alpha version which requires some extra package to be installed and I didn't managed yet, but I will downgrade to 4.4.4 and then install the stable version of xPosed and try the "National roaming" module.
Keep in touch.
Alas!
WOW! This is such a blessing, I was actually hoping for someone else using SO-02G because I'm in tons of dilemma, whether to use this or that or what to do or not, because majority of the english help and guides as we know are from the international version. You are heaven sent, I would surely stay connected, given that I am in the process of learning to do all those stuffs in my SO-02G..
Found this All-In-1 guide here,. May I ask, Did you use this guide in all the processes you did?

VoLTE and VoWifi driving me berzerk - can't get it to work!

I have the latest Telenor ROM for Norway, and still neither VoLTE or VoWifi works. I have had contact with the carrier, and we did a bunch of tests. It seems like the phone doesn't even try to connect to their Ims apn at all. I tried my SIM in my wife's S6, and both things worked at once. So there is something funky about the phone itself. It's rooted and unlocked (of course, whose phone isn't on this forum), but that was not supposed to matter at all. Does anybody have a clue what this can be? I really need this to work because our new house has very bad coverage even if it's in the middle of a town. And the phone is the only one I've seen that works reliably when I'm fishing (which I do a lot) and use GPS to log where I have my lobster and crayfish pots with wet fingers and often a wet screen too (the only thing that doesn't work with wet fingers is the fingerprint sensor).
From what I researched you need to have carrier specific settings and certificates on your phone. I was hoping there would be a way to extract an oem.sin from another firmware and get it to work, but I have not actually tried it and I don't know whether it's possible.
Shouldn't it be a part of the Telenor (my carrier) specific ROM? The Performance phone is supposed to support this on the carrier, according to their pages.
Finally found it. Had to wipe all TA as well (something I usually do not do) when flashing the new ROM, then it suddenly worked. Weird stuff...
hello, I have similar problem but only with VoWIFI - it's not working from few days. VoLTE work well. I don't make any changes so I don't know why it's not working. How can I wipe TA and should I do that?
Well, if you have unlocked your bootloader and rooted, you can just update to the latest ROM for your area and wipe when you're using Flashtool. If you haven't done that, I have no idea what you need to do, I have never used a non-rooted phone.

Face unlock

Just got Mi 8 (global version) and can't see any options for face unlock? Thought this thing had dedicated stuff for it in the notch? The first update it did there was referred to adding face lock to France etc, perhaps coming in an update ,is it? Ta (UK)
Come on... Did you google for this problem? Change region of your device to for eg. India then you will get it. Only some regions got face unlock yet. Or you have to flash Xiaomi.eu rom, which I think has enabled face unlock for all regions

I came on and googled. Changing to Hong Kong region enabled face data option in lock screen an passwords. Some say India enables for them. Some say doing this affects GPS but tested and seems fine using GPS test up to 4 meters accuracy in the UK. Cheers.
Got the same issue here, was happy for a while running the Indian region, but it stops my mobile hotspot working which I need for work! Another issue I'm interested to see if you have is that Google assistant unlock features are greyed out, ie OK google doesn't unlock the phone and is not recognised unless search is open.
Is there any way of flashing to EU ROM from Official Global without voiding the extra support to keep everything official.

Question Dual Sim plus health monitor (ECG, etc) impossible?

I just got a new S21 Ultra dual sim Latin American variant, because no US version dual sim Samsung exists. I have a US Version Galaxy Watch 3 that pairs nicely with it, except when the health monitor app on the phone tries to open for the ECG I get an error saying that it is not available in my location. I verified with Samsung that this is because the phone is a non US variant and there is no way around this limitation (according to them), even though ECG is cleared for use in my home country (USA).
So an idea I am exploring now is to send this phone back (still in return period) and buy a UK variant dual sim S21 Ultra. My reasoning is that ECG is cleared for use in UK and apparently the health monitor app is working for the UK. I asked Samsung tech support and the agent said I would not be able to get through the health monitor "onboarding process" from a physical US location using a UK origin device. She didn't think using a UK IP VPN would help any, but she didn't seem sure. Still it seems like a legit idea to me ... the phone is from an "ECG cleared" country and I live in an "ECG cleared" country. But does logic apply with Samsung . . . I am not so sure anymore.
Do you think this idea would work?
Any other ideas of how I could end up with a dual sim S21 on which the health monitor app (ECG, etc) would work . . . that wouldnt risk bricking my phone?
Many thanks in advance for any help.
So here is a second idea to run past the experts here:
change CSC (currently set to TPA ) to XAA using method in this link:
Change CSC on Samsung Devices | Guide | iHax
Looking for a way to change CSC/Country Specific Code on your Samsung Galaxy device? Here's a quick guide on how to do it easily.
ihax.io
I actually pulled up that radio button screen to see what it currently was, but I chickened out of changing it
1) would this change make my dual sim phone a single sim phone?
2) is there a chance it would be impossible to revert back to TPA if the change caused problems?
3) any chance this change would brick the phone?
4) since I have 2 imei numbers, what is the result of making this change on only one imei?
5) do you think this change would solve the problem of not being able to start up and "onboard" the health monitor app?
Changing a csc from dual sim variant to dual sim variant shouldn't have any impact on IMEI. Almost no chance to brick the phone.
CSC just define preinstalled apps and features (ECG, call recording...)
I would say its worth the try but I can't guarantee anything

thanks for that. Actually Id be changing CSC from dual sim variant (Latin America) to single sim variant (USA). Do you think that would cause issues ... like break the dual sim functionality?
So I backed up and looked at this complete mess Samsung has me in trying to kludge their products into working after I paid a hefty price for them and I made a decision. Im still in the return period on everything. So everything is getting boxed back up for return (chargers/watch/phone/cables/etc). Im going to take that money and put it into a dual sim Iphone12 and Apple Watch 6 which apparently works very well in the USA right out of the box with no complicated hacks. Been awhile since I hitched myself to the Apple Wagon ... we'll see how it goes. So long Samsung. RELIEF!
so i tried the iphone for awhile and I just couldnt do it anymore. so the new iphone went to the wife, and i got a Note 20 Ultra (Tmobile brand) today and the dual sim (using esim) does work . . . BUT
1) you have to endure Tmobile unlock policy nonesense
2) the dual sim functionality isnt as finely controlable as iphone or dual sim androids. you select one which of the esim/sim will be "primary" and it will use data. so you cant have the physical sim as the data user and the esim as the primary voice/sms line.
annoying , but not insurmountable issues.
not a bad phone, but the bronze color is actually more like a pink. a big plus for some would be the expandable memory.
a HUGE con is the price . . . 1300 USD
apparently ONLY the TMobile branded us version Note 20's have the esim enabled.
Have you checked the watch does not have to be from a country that supports ECG feature not the phone?
I cannot confirm whether or not the country of the watch itself has any effect. All I can say for sure is the phone has to be a version from a country that supports the ECG feature.
