Location setting is set to high accuracy and i permission to access location for pokemon go is enabled. Any suggestion? Thanks.
EDIT: I uninstalled google play services and reinstalled it and opened the game and it works fine

Google Maps won´t download offline maps

Hey all,
Tried the board search for a possible solution to my prob, to no avail so far:
I am using a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, GP5110, android 4.0.3.
Fully rooted, avast! security installed as firewall, running in whitelist mode - I rather allow those few application I like internet access and have everything else blocked by default, with the ongoing permission-hunger of most app developers I figured to be better safe than sorry.
My problem: Googles` Maps App is running perfectly fine, however when I try to download any offline maps (settings -> make available offline) it just opens a tab called "My Places", showing my map indicating 0.0MB/0.0MB, download never starts.
I tried whitelisting a number of different system processes - such as was necessary to get the youtube app running - but was not successful identifying the correct ones.
Anybody out there who could help?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Chris
Can you not turn the firewall off , download the maps you want then turn it back on ? I have managed to download offline maps but avast firewall was not on ..... just a thought.
Would probably work, but I'm rather looking for a permanent solution than a workaround... Thanks for your suggestion though!
Go to settings -> Clear all offline maps
Then open Google Play, uninstall Google Maps, then update Google Maps, Restart Device,
Now it works on mine. There should be a notification section called "Downloaded Maps" which tells you the progress, as well as inside Google maps.

Play store no longer working. Server Error.

So play store now presents a "server error" with a retry button underneath it as soon as I launch play store. Nothing happens when i click retry.
This is what I did.
1) Installed Play store, been using it and working fine for a month.
2) Blocked OTA updates via hide commands.
3) Rooted my tablet yesterday, worked great and nothing was broken.
4) Today, i followed this guide to remove all of amazon's apps. I used the hide method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/safe-to-remove-5-0-1-bloatware-2015-t3239582
5) I touched nothing else.
Now, everything works but google play.
Help!
Ok so I solved the problem.
I lied, I did perform one additional step, and that was the problem.
So between steps 3 and 4, I had installed the Apex launcher from the play store and then moved the fire launcher from /system/priv-app/com.amazon.firelauncher to another backup folder, then rebooted.
Upon reboot, the Apex launcher came up and worked. That's when I noticed the play store issue.
So to fix my issue, I set apex launcher as the default launcher, moved the com.amazon.firelauncher folder back to /system/priv-app, rebooted, then Play Store worked again (and luckily Apex was still set as the default launcher like I wanted).
So I guess the default fire launcher has to be installed and unhidden for play store to work properly?

I had the same server error from the google play store last night. I've been excitedly installing stuff left and right since the bright people among us achieved root...so tracking down which tweak or app caused the problem was going to be tough. Luckily I checked my network settings first. I went to my wifi settings and long-pressed on my wifi network to get the modify network screen, scrolled down to show advanced, and discovered something had changed my proxy setting to manual. I set proxy to none and google play came right back. I have no idea how I set the proxy to active, but maybe this will help someone else before they start uninstalling and unhiding things. Google play works fine with the default amazon launcher hidden or deleted by the way.

This is interesting. Thanks for this response because while my solution did fix my problem, it just didn't make sense that the launcher would have to be not hidden. My proxy settings were set to manual as well, but that's because I did that to get adblock plus working without root, which worked fine. I didn't think to try and set it back to auto in the wifi setting. If I encounter the problem again, I will be sure to keep an eye on that.

Can't install some apps for no reason?

Hey,
I just installed CM12.1. Everything works great (thanks!) and I tried to install some apps via Play Store.
However, some of them are greyed out. At first I thought it could be due to the lack of GPS and apps that need location such as Grindr Ingress couldn't be installed. But I did it through adb install and they run great.
It also happened with Fenix, BitTorrent Pro, or Yi action cam app.
Is there any way to fix it? I read the first ten pages of this forum and couldn't find anything.

Not currently but there are some interesting developments in another thread that may reduce the number if apps "greyed out" in the Play Store. For now you will need to side load.

Location not working for some apps

Hi there,
I have the unlocked European S10 with the latest firmware and app updates. No root and no google account installed.
I have the following issue.
I normally keep location off.
So when I fire google maps it asks to enable location which fine but it never finds a location. If I use anothe app e.g. mapsme the location is found instantly. When I go back and kill and start google maps again the location is found. Some other apps never find any location.
I have removed cache of all apps from bootloader and cleared app data from Google maps and Google play services but issue is still there. I tried also safe mode but no luck.
Any ideas what is going wrong? Factory reset is not really an option..
EDIT: Correct gif uploaded
have you tapped the circle with the question mark?

Question How to enable or fix Google Maps Timeline / Location History?

Hello, since I've had Timeline enabled for years, I'd like to somehow get it to work on Vivo x60 Pro Plus.
Currently I've tried almost everything possible to enable it, but when I click on "Enable Location History" there is a very fast blackscreen pop up in millisecond range and then nothing happens it disappears in ms, then in the settings it says "Location History is disabled" in bold italics.
I have disabled some bloatware via ADB AppControl v1.6.3 and must say I'm super happy with the phone, interface, notification, battery including fast charging, although I'm very picky about phones, everything is fine except for Maps timeline / location history.
Play Store I have officially installed via Vivo Store, push notification works fine for me, Maps permission in the settings all turned on.
All Location History settings in google account settings are ON but device does not sending GPS information to google server...
Does anyone have ne idea how I can fix the gms (google mobile services) ev. I have thought about to copy apk from the Funtouch image to install the complete google apks via AppControl? Because of bold italics in the settings, i think there is some missing apk that maps timline needs to work in the background...
Hi, same problem with iqoo 9 pro, any solution
