Archos GApps Installer (Market Contacts Calender Etc.)

Perhaps these might help some of the devs here.
The installer helper app didn't seem to do anything (as expected since this is for an Archos) but maybe ripping it apart to see what it's doing may help.
I downloaded the apps from within apps.zip as well but the only ones that would install was media uploader and maps. The rest gave parse errors.

This would be great if it work for our device. I shall look into it but I have close to no experience with android programming

I have a (speculative) feeling that the version of Android included with the Archos tablets may be more complete than what ships on the Nooks. Still, this may be helpful. I'm 'bouts to tear into it.
Interesting to see this thread started today. Last night I found the gapps for Archos and tried a few things but to no avail. The error that I was getting was that it only ran on xxx. I can't remember the exact wording. But someone that actually knows how to read/write software code might be able to make something out of this Archos package.
This works for Archos because the '/system/app' directory has aliases to the '/data/test/froyo/system' folder. Basically, Archos sorta knew we'd manually install the Market.
If the Nook has something similar, it could work, but you'd have to see what writable directory the Nook has if they even do this like Archos.
If they don't have the files like this prefixed with a 0 then you'd probably need full root to get the market going. However, I'm not root expert to guide Nook users nor do I have a Nook... (=

[TOOL] The O2x Nullifier 2.2 - Single & Dual Passes!!! SU660

Hello my fellow Android crack flashers! So Volk and I have wrote(him) and tested(me) his g2x nullifier for our phones. Well it works flawlessly! Which his thread is here. So with our learning adventures he has helped me port it to the O2x. So here is the run down. This was originally created as the g2xscrubber was insufficient enough for our flashberry addiction, and on top of that if wouldn't wipe our /cache either. And yes this is the same thing from the p990 dev thread but I just wanted to post in the official su660 thread since its avail for me to do so...
So the domino effect has begun. This is a simple script that will wipe your internal partitions cleaner then a whistle and get it dam near like new status, perfectly ready for a ROM. Like as if you just purchased it and didnt have any data on it nor a ROM and needed to be flashed. And yes it came all tricked out like that with CWM and all.. haha
So here it is...
The O2x Nullifier
This uses a special command in combination with a special file to overwrite the internal partitions with 0's, hence "Null" for 0 and "-ifier" for the fact that it does something. It also formats the partitions afterward, including /cache too! Enjoy!
Some brief need to knows:
1. This is a little lengthy process so please bear with it. The longest wipe is on /data which will take about 7 minutes. Obviously, make sure you have plenty of battery life before running it. I've ran this Nullifier like 20 times in the last two days of first testing and on average its about 1204 seconds or about 19.8 minutes, on average. The Single pass zip is only half of the time of course. Or you can just watch the progress bar. After 20 times of nullifing and log pulling in 2 days, im pretty dang sure the bar is accurate. So enjoy!
2. ONCE THE NULLIFICATION PROCESS HAS BEEN COMPLETED DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TURN OFF OR LET YOUR PHONE DIE BEFORE FLASHING A ROM OR RESTORING... or you will brick your phone.
3. I will provide help, support, etc. for this, but as always flash at your own risk and I am not responsible if you turn your phone into your next non-aerodynamic frisby.
Enjoy!
Also I have now decided to copy the log to sdcard at completion (thanks to DARKSIDE for the idea). But from now on the log created in /tmp while in cwm is now copied to sdcard as O2x-Nullified-recovery.log. So it will still be deleted from RAM but never lost any more!!!!! muhahahahahahah... love it!
Thanks go to Волк aka Volk for letting me test and learn from his G2x Nullifier script. And also to owain94 for helping me make sure that this thing will run ok on the O2x, since I dont actually have the O2x..
Also if is doesn't work, please we need logs. You need to use a file explorer or put the external sdcard into your pc and grab and upload or pm me the log from your sdcard the file will be named 'O2x-Nullified-recovery.log'
Hi!
I have su660, i would like to know the difference bettween nullifier single n dual? Or which one works with su660?

haha nice avatar pic! but the difference is based on ocd levels. lol Basically we originally did the Nullifier to have two passes in the nullification process just to make sure that all data has been zero'd out before formatting. However with the time it takes to complete such a process it seemed a bit much and end users didnt like it much. So we made the single and dual passes. Basically the single pass only does one nullification pass before formatting and moving to the next partition.

[Q] Really confusing SD card bug

Hello to whoever reads this thread, I hope you can help me.
I'm looking for help since I've been stuck with this issue for a week now and don't know what to do about it.
It all started a few days after finally getting a 16GB SDCard for my Note.
This sounds weird but I can't install all apps. I can install Facebook, Bacon Reader without problem, but apps like XDA or games won't install at all. The play store will just keep saying "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card"
I tried so many things that I don't have a clue if what I'm doing is actually useful.
Here is a few things I did to get rid of that problem :
- Wiping cache/dalvik, rebooting...many times.
- Flashing PA 4.0 Alpha again and again
- Looking for the "smdl2tmp1.asec" file in .android_secure and remove it (There's no file at all in that folder for me and I have no idea how people manage to see it since I can't really explore the root folder from Windows Explorer)
So, at this point I'm just tired of trying quick fixes and I motivate myself to do the following:
- Trying to go back to PA 3.99 RC2, but CWM is just going mad at me saying the zip file is not made for my device (status 7 error...)
- Updating CWM and trying to flash PA 3.99 RC2 after the first install failed. Fail again.
- Edit the update-script file from Windows to delete the specific "device" lines as stated on this thread. Fail again ? Fail again.
Some background info as I just thought about something that might be causing the issue.
See, Play Music for an incredibly stupid reason doesn't allow you to save music to an external sd card so I've been googling a lot and came upon that blog post giving a few tips on how to solve that issue. Maybe I f'ed up something in the process since I find that manoeuver a bit confusing.
More background info : I've been using PA since 3.69 and never have had any issue with it until that Alpha version but since nobody is reporting errors in the PA support thread it must be a problem on my side.
Oh, and while I'm at it, the loading battery animation when the phone is turned off looks really odd, like it's android from a decade ago and not the fancy one i put as the thread icon.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance for I really don't know what to do anymore. :crying:
Also sorry for bad english.
FINAL EDIT : Oops. Found the answer by myself, thanks anyway
This bug is supposed to be fixed in the current/next nightly of omnirom.
Thanks for the answer.
So...there's no way to just fix the "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card" bug ? I don't really want to be forced to change for Omni...

Not a compatible device error

Hello all. This is my first post here so I apologize in advance for the Noob question or my failure to find it buried in the available topics if it has already been answered. I am new to modding my nook and though I have done some reading up on it I know I have a lot more to learn.
I recently followed the following Link found on this site to do an SD card boot of my nook HD+ tablet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583952
I am glad to say that I was able to perform this without a hitch and even loaded the GAPPS Kitkat 4.4.X stock package file afterward. It was incredibly easy to do as the instructions were very well written for someone making a first time attempt.
So, my question is this. After doing all of this, booting up in the custom format to kitkat 4.4.x I go to the google play store to install a new game (Star Wars Commander) that wouldn't work on my standard Nook interface and I still get an error that my device is not compatible.
Am I correct in assuming that this error is still occuring because the boot is off of the SD card and somehow it is still reading my internal memory (EMMC) directory that is android 2.x or am I way off base? Did I potentially miss something in my steps or is this app simply looking for something non-software related? I was under the impression that most, if not all, apps only care about the version of android, nothing else.
Any help or directions you can give would be great. I am not afraid to dive into a long read to learn more on how to mod and even eventually root my tablet. I figured I would star with the easy to remove SD card format first for my first try.
It has nothing to do with being an SD install. Play Store uses many properties to determine if an app is listed as compatible with any specific device (screen size and density, version of ROM, device name, etc). There is not much you can do to improve how Play Store lists it. And just because Play Store say it is not compatible does not mean it will not run satisfactorily on your device. In fact, most times it will. The solution is to set the unknown sources setting and install the app from another store (like Amazon, 1mobile.com, etc) or sideload the apk file from another device.

Thanks leapinlar. I will try that tonight.

Modified Stock Rom - D41510c (Root, Polish, De-Bloat) (Flashable Zip)

Please find at the URL below my copy of the stock ROM (Version C) for the D415, with my modifications included.
The D415 is a great phone for the price, and it came with many cool features. However, the phone still has an amateur streak running the stock ROM. Some of LG's apps are great on this phone, but some of them are downright useless for most of us. T-Mobile added their own pushy bloatware to the mix as well. The end result, as we all know, is a usually fluid, but at times clunky and awkward experience using the device. I was impressed the first day I had it, but I wanted to make it better that first day as well. I wanted to get rid of all the useless stuff, and polish it into something I wouldn't be embarrassed to pull out in front of a client. I liked a lot of what LG did here, and wanted to hold on to that, but I also wanted a few changes:
Root:
FOTAkill
SuperSU installed on first boot
Polish:
Small UI sounds changes
Boot Animation
Replaced Flashlight App (thanks to xbmi, consider a donation in the app)
Added Heads Up
Removed foo foo themes
Added Bookmarks Sync
Replaced Stock Messenger with AOSP MMS
Debloat:
LG Memo & Widget moved to user apps
LG Music & Widget moved to user apps
Visual Voicemail moved to user apps
Weather widget moved to user apps
Apps removed completely:
LG Contacts widget
TMobile TV
Lookout
CarrierIQ
Maps
Mobile Life
Streetview
Talkback
T-Mobile My Account
T-Mobile Name ID
Voice Dialer
Youtube
Amazon
Chrome
Cloud Print
Drive
Easy Home
Gmail
Google Plus
Google Calendar
Play News Stand
Play Books
Play Game
Play Movies & TV
Play Music
Google Search
Google TTS
Hangouts
Stock Calendar
To do:
AOSP Keyboard (IDK what I'm doing here yet. It's crashing when I put it in now).
Version E (need to learn how to extract KDZ)
Instructions:
Download zip to SD
Reboot to Recovery
Wipe Dalvik, cache, data, system.
Install zip
Reboot and enjoy
Thanks to @Daisuke1988 for the original flashable stock rom.
Feedback welcome in replies!
I just got this phone today. I hate it but this should make it much better. Thanks guys!!

Keep poking around with it. There are a lot of hidden gems sprinkled in by lg that will really cause you to like this phone. I came off of a nexus 5 to this. I chose it for the price tag, you can't beat $7 a month and get the build quality and battery life. I would buy again. The only thing I miss is a decent camera. But the stock camera app helps with auto focus mode.
Will it work on d405?

I guess I have to try this evening, if nobody's trying till then I will report back
If the pure stock ROM works in the 405, this one should as well. I'm not sure myself without looking it up.
I have a D41510c and when I tried to install this rom, it failed. I'm restoring a backup, but I will try again in a while.
Sorry to hear that, I tried very hard to make the cuts fine in this. Without further info I'm gonna guess the download got corrupted. The zip itself is really straightforward (simple script, boot and system imgs.) The only part I would have thought would have failed the installer was that I repacked the system IMG (saved a few hundred MBs) instead of simply unmounting it after my changes. Otherwise, if its going to break, it should be upon first boot. Let me know what happened if it doesn't work again.

I'm re-downloading, hopefully this will work!
I can deodex this but you will have to wait till Tuesday for me to upload it. or is it already deodexed?
I had thought about it but honestly haven't learned how to yet. Was I mistaken to think the payoff would not have been that great? Either way, I can wait til Tue, I know others will want it deodexed. Thanks!
I tried again, but it failed...
E:Error executing updater binary in zip
E:Unable to mount '/system'
EDIT: I was able to boot into the rom, but it's extremely slow
Wondering if it has to do with first botched install now that it went. Were you able to format /system again? My other thought was repairing permissions. When it failed the first time, was it before "Setting permissions for root" was displayed? If so it was in the middle of flashing /system. I flashed this on mine using twrp. IDK that I will be much help but I think if we can figure out the variables Google should at least point us in the right direction...
Before I get too far down the rabbit hole can anyone confirm they have successfully flashed this and its working out for them?

Well, I rebooted and it's faster now. I used towelroot to get root. Nohing appeared about the permissions. I was able to update the binaries using TWRP.
It's should have already had root and SuperSU installs on first boot. Did that not happen? I'm glad your phone is doing better! So many weird things going on there!

I use ROM Toolbox Pro, and when I went to start it the first time, it said root check had failed. That's why I used towelroot. I'll continue to test things and report back to you. So far, it's pretty smooth.
Weird. Can you tell me if the SuperSU apk is to be found in /system/apps/bootup?
I'm doing a backup so i can wipe and install fresh again. I'd like to mess around with the root stuff and see if I can figure that out. Did you happen to get a listing of which files are missing?
