Can't add PayPal payment method to UBER application? - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

I appear to be unable to add PAYPAL as a payment method within the UBER application on my OP3T any ideas?
I've encountered this same issue for a number of weeks and tried multiple times without any change.
For some reason UBER just won't accept my Paypal account as a valid payment method, it happily accepted a credit card, but whenever I attempt to add PP always just says "Unable to add this Paypal account - There was a problem connecting to PayPal. Try again later" (see pictures below) :

I don't think that this is a PayPal issue as I'm able to use it on my device through its own application, Ebay and browser without issue"? Any suggestions?
The device is rooted is this why? If so I would have expected a better more meaningful error message?
Any help appreciated, especially if its just to say, I'm in UK, rooted and I use UBER with Paypal....
Cheers

If you don't want to unroofed, Freedom OS will keep root and hides it. Android Pay works!

New Google Wallet update

Check it out, they just release it few hours ago.
So far, my credit card was erased and I cannot add it again. Nice going Google.
It does updates the amount available on Google's Debit card though.
Edit: When I tried to open the app it did not find my cards and entering again the info crashed the app. I simply uninstalled and installed again the update, it fixed the issues.

I updated as well
No issues with it at all still has my same cards in there . My pay pal credit card and google play pre paid thing that still has that 10.00 on it.. I wish they would put my google market transactions in there this is still blank.. I was hoping they would update google play transactions into this app..
I still do NOT Trust it enough to put my personal cards in it.. But then again i use pay pal even for groceries..gas and well i have my google play account on it. VERY LOW RATE And great online protection. We have had a paypal business card since day one of them starting them...
Anyway as far as the app i do not see any changes guess its all fixes
Just downloaded the updated apk on a VZW GNEX, works beautifully. Def reset wallet before you install the new version though...

From my experience with my gnex, between market updates and restoring and such from titanium backup. I feel anytime that you restore Google wallet its best to reset the app from within its settings.
Once it eared my cards and when I reset the app they showed up

My update didn't have any issues either.

I dont know why but i got the pic attached. This is very frustrating as I can enter into the app fine. Should I be using vpn or something?
What country are you in?

Use a US VPN.
I haven got my set yet, it's in the mail so I'm not able to give you a proper fix, but using a US VPN should work.
Beamed from my Maguro
I was just checking my battery usage and saw that Wallet, after the update was the second largest user (31%) after the screen(44%). I have never used wallet other than updating it. I forced stop the app hoping this will stop the drain. Why would an app I never use require a third of my battery power?

Same here, it seems the servers are down, unable to download xposed as well
rovo89 said:
The repository (repo.xposed.info) is currently down because my provider is temporarily moving it to a different server. They said the load is too high, but unfortunately failed to provide any details so far. It's also been six hours since they have started the move, no idea why it's taking that long and when it will be finished.
Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do at the moment, so please be patient.

Hmm... I wonder if Niantic has something to do with this due to all the Pokémon Go hacks... (Might as well start the conspiracy theories...)
This being a server issue makes it even worse. If the server is deleted or broken xposed has to start over.

That's not true at all. If he doesn't have a server backup, he would be an AWFUL admin. Assuming he has a backup (which, given he's obviously a smart cookie for coming up with xposed, is nearly 100%), it'd be trivial to migrate it to a new server.

The funny thing is that I just rooted my phone and got xposed.
And now I'm here like waiting for a fix that's actually really we to fix in 16-48 hours.
Yea I just installed xposed.. installed two modules and now waiting for other ones..lol I thought it was odd that I was browsing through hundreds of them, then I go and check later and it says nothing... I said crap hope it's not down and found this thread... hoping it pops back up shortly.
I really want the add away for youtube and in general.

i found a temporary workaround to getting and installing the modules. Download XDA Labs and install modules through the labs app
Not necessary, repo is back up

Samsung pay error message.

Going with the spirit of the forum I decided to try Samsung Pay. Setup two cards . I attempted to purchase an app from the Samsung store, but I receive the error message "Secure UI not ready" come back in another minute.
Any ideas whats causing this, DPI?
Edit. I changed my DPI back to 360 from 340, still didn't work.

If i recall to be able to use Samsung pay correctly the following needs to be done
Lockscreen/security needs to be setup (PIN or pattern)
a Samsung pay pin needs to be setup (separate from android lock screen pin)
Optional: iris/fingerprint setup(can be used in place of pin when paying for stuff, but Samsung pin still needs to be setup)
Payment card will need to be enrolled then authorized by bank/institution (which usually requires phoning them so they can white list the token ID generated by the phone)
I don't have a locks screen setup or anything. I'll try that later. I've got a pin setup in Samsung pay and cards enrolled.

I setup fingerprint and still no go. Still comes up with same error message as before. Can't be bothered with it anymore . Thanks anyways.

I had similar issue like you. Turned off and problem disappears. Try that?

Is GPay installed or not?

I can pay with my phone which is superawesome.
But GPay app is not (pre)installed in my phone. So Android core supports GPay even without the app?
Is this a Samsung Note 9 thing or does it work the same way with every Android phone?
Thanks!

Samsung uses Samsung Pay and Google phones use Google Pay as default. I'm not sure of other phones because I have not used them. It's been like this since day one. However you are free to uninstall either and install what you prefer.
G Pay is not installed in my phone. I can't find it in App list. But G Pay service is configured in my phone.
There's no Samsung Pay app as well.
I just touched terminal with my phone and Note 9 asked me if I want to use my phone for payments and asked me to enter my credit card details.
That's why I'm asking. I didn't install any "Pay" app, and I can't uninstall any of them as you suggest. It just works out of the box.

It could be different in your country.
I installed GPay without problems on USA Unlocked Note9
I have Google pay. Can we use both on one phone? I want to stay with my baby Google but Sammy pay is in more locations lol

What's wrong with stock email app?

I don't use this app nor have i ever set it up but it appears to be using resources.

I've uninstalled it.
If you can't uninstall it, then just disable it in the App Manager.
Yeah. Unfortunately anything built in to the system will probably be doing something in the background from time to time. I do use the email app occasionally myself, though I think email is becoming a pretty outdated concept these days with so many other ways to communicate. Sadly though, until our device gets root, the only way to stop this is by disabling the app.

With my N960F I can uninstall it (I can't remember if it's even installed in the first place).
I don't use it just because it ask for admin permissions for any business account added, which I don't want to give, so instead I use Nine.

You'll need to do it with ADB then.

You can use Package Disabler Pro for Samsung from the play store. No root needed for snapdragon at least.
